To Carry out His Economy, God must have Faithful Stewards to Dispense Christ’s Riches

In order for God to carry out His economy, He must have faithful stewards who dispense the divine life supply to God’s children; we all must be good and faithful stewards in God’s economy, the stewards of the grace of God, carrying out our stewardship of grace to minister the riches of Christ to those in God’s household.

Lord Jesus, we come to You to enjoy You! We open to You: fill us with Your riches. Constitute us with the riches of Your being. Gain the opening in our being for You to infuse what You are into us. We simply open and remain under Your divine transmission today. Dispense the riches of Your grace into us. Constitute us with Your riches. Flow through us as grace. We want to carry out our stewardship of grace to minister the riches of Christ to others! Amen!

We believers in Christ have not only the human life we received through our birth from our parents but also the divine life, the zoe life of God, a life that is uncreated, eternal, and incorruptible.

We have this life in our spirit, for God in Christ as the Spirit came into our spirit to be our life.

As we contact the Lord throughout the day, as we set our mind on our spirit, this divine life in our spirit spreads into our mind, emotion, and will, to saturate the inward parts of our being with life.

God wants to saturate and permeate our being with Himself as life; He came into our spirit, He is spreading in our soul, and He will also saturate our body! Praise the Lord!

As we daily open to the Lord, come to Him, and read and pray over His word, as we meet with the saints and fellowship together, more of God is added to us.

He grows in us. He increases in us. He fills us. And He also flows through us.

We are in His economy, and He is dispensing Himself into us. God’s economy is to dispense Himself into our being so that we may be constituted with His being.

This is accomplished only by God dispensing Himself into us as the divine life.

Day by day there’s a marvellous yet normal divine dispensing going on. God is dispensing what He is into our being, and we are receiving and enjoying what He is.

As long as we open our vessel and just receive the divine dispensing, as long as we keep our being open to Him, there’s more of God added to us, and we have more of the riches of Christ for us to dispense to others also.

This is the ministry of life, to minister the Christ we have enjoyed and experienced to others also.

To Carry out His Economy, God must have Faithful Stewards who Dispense the Divine Supply to God’s Children

On the one hand, we believers in Christ are enjoyers of the divine life, being daily open to the Lord for Him to dispense what He is into our being.

On the other hand, God wants to carry out His economy, and for this, He must have faithful stewards who dispense the divine life supply to the children of God (Luke 12:42; Titus 1:7; Matt. 24:45).

The Lord Jesus wants to gain faithful stewards, even faithful and prudent slaves, whom He can set over His household to give them food at the proper time.

God is in the business of dispensing; He is in the business of giving food to those in need. God has an economy, and the way He accomplishes His economy is by dispensing Himself into man.

To carry out this dispensing, for Him to execute the divine dispensing, the Triune God first selected some apostles and prophets whom He could entrust with a stewardship to dispense His riches into others.

Today we are all entrusted with this stewardship for us to dispense the riches of Christ have enjoyed to those around us.

We are not only members of God’s household: we are faithful stewards who dispense the riches of Christ as the divine supply to those in His household.

This doesn’t mean that God wants to have more leading brothers or sisters; rather, what He desires is that all the members of the Body of Christ would function in their measure to receive and dispense the divine supply in the Body.

Give them food. He wants us to give them food. We may be at home, on the way to work, or at the office; our commission is to give them food.

We need to enjoy the riches of Christ and carry out our stewardship. We are ministers according to the stewardship of God, which was given to us for others (Col. 1:25).

The Greek word for stewards is of the same root as for economy in 1 Timothy 1:4 and Ephesians 1:10.

The Greek word for steward is oikonomos, and the Greek word for economy is oikonomia. We need to be good and faithful stewards of God’s economy today.

This means that we need to be those who enjoy Christ and minister Christ to dispense Christ as the varied grace of God to supply the saints as the household of God (1 Cor. 4:1-2; Eph. 3:2; 1 Pet. 4:10; Eph. 2:19).

We may enjoy something of Christ in our time with Him in the morning, and we may have a portion of the riches of Christ to minister to others also.

When we meet the saints, when we meet others, we can simply minister the riches of Christ we enjoyed to them.

Thank the Lord that He has placed us in His household where He has a household management to distribute the riches of Christ into the members of His great family.

As we dispense the riches of Christ into others, we carry out our stewardship. This satisfies God’s desire and meets the need of those in God’s household.

One way to minister Christ to others as faithful stewards is to be with someone when they are down and just pray with them or speak to them.

As long as we have the riches of Christ constituting us, as long as we are filled with Christ, simply being with others will minister Christ to them.

It is not mainly from the podium that one can be a good and faithful steward in God’s economy; it is in the daily life, in the normal church life, that we can minister something of Christ to others.

First, we have to enjoy Christ and partake of His riches in His word. We need to have a rich deposit of Christ in our being. Then, we can be one with the Lord to give them food, that is, give food at the proper time as good and faithful stewards.

Lord Jesus, we love You! Thank You for not only saving us from eternal perdition but also bringing us into Your house to be members of Your household! Thank You, Lord, for entrusting us with a stewardship for us to minister the riches of Christ to others! We exercise our spirit to enjoy You today. Amen, Lord, we come to You in Your word to partake of the riches of Christ. Constitute us with Your riches. May Your word be so real and living to us. We come to You as the living word so that You may constitute us and fill us with the riches of the Triune God! Amen, Lord, fill us to overflowing. We want to be good and faithful stewards of God who minister the divine life supply to those in God’s household. Hallelujah, God is carrying out His economy through our carrying out our stewardship to minister the riches of Christ to those in God’s household! Amen, Lord, we want to cooperate with You today to execute God’s dispensing and minister the riches of Christ we enjoyed into others also!

Carry out our Stewardship of Grace to Dispense the Riches of Christ as Grace into Others

In 1 Corinthians 4:1-2 we see that we as servants of Christ are stewards of the mysteries of God. We enjoy Christ as the mystery of God and the church as the mystery of Christ, and we minister the mysteries of God to others.

Day by day there is a marvellous transmission taking place: God is supplying the Spirit of grace bountifully, and we should be receiving and dispensing the Spirit of grace continually (John 1:16; Heb. 10:29b; Gal. 3:2-5; Eph. 3:2; 4:29).

On His side, God is continually dispensing the Spirit of grace; when we receive and enjoy this Spirit, we are entrusted with the stewardship of grace to dispense the Spirit of grace to others continually.

The apostle Paul was such a steward; he exercised his stewardship to dispense God’s rich grace to others.

He enjoyed the unsearchable riches of Christ and carried out his stewardship of grace to execute God’s economy.

He even said that he received a special commission, a special grace, and a special operation to transmit the unsearchable riches of Christ to the Gentiles chosen by God.

This was Paul’s stewardship, and he was a good and faithful steward in God’s economy.

As a result of the enjoyment of the riches of Christ, many got saved and constituted with Christ, and the church was raised up in a particular locality.

Today we need to be those who are under the marvellous divine transmission, continually receiving the Spirit of grace and also dispensing this Spirit to others.

Our Christian living should be the living of grace, the experience of grace, so that we may carry out our stewardship of grace, the dispensing of grace (Eph. 3:1-2; 2 Cor. 12:7-9).

Grace is God in Christ as the Spirit to be everything to us for our enjoyment.

In Vine’s Expository Dictionary of the Greek New Testament, he says that the Greek word for grace is something that occasions or bestows pleasure and delight. God dispenses Himself as grace into us for us to be happy and delighted.

He wants to make us happy, fill us with Himself as our happiness, and dispense Him into others to carry out our stewardship of grace.

May we be channels of the bountiful supply of the Spirit of grace, those who minister the word of God’s grace to the saints for their growth in life and for their enjoyment of Christ (Acts 6:4; 20:32; 2 Cor. 3:6; Phil. 1:19-25; Heb. 10:29b; 1 John 5:16).

May we be so full of Christ, so filled with the riches of Christ, that we simply overflow with Christ to others.

The Lord today wants to carry out His economy, and He does it through us as good and faithful stewards; we are stewards of the grace of God, and we minister the riches of Christ as grace to others.

We need to pray that the Lord would make us channels of life and life supply for the saints’ growth in life and enjoyment of Christ.

The apostle Paul in Philippians 1:19-25 said that he had two choices: to go and be with the Lord, which is far better for him, or to remain and be with the saints for their progress and joy of the faith. Wow.

He made the choice to remain and carry out his stewardship of grace so that he may minister the riches of Christ to the saints. His very being with the saints, even from afar, was for their progress and joy of the faith.

It should matter to the church whether we live or die, whether we function or not. We want to be channels of supply to the saints, those who always have something of the riches of Christ to minister to others.

Each member of the Body of Christ has been given grace (Eph. 4:7; Rom. 12:6).

Each member of the Body of Christ is a steward of the varied grace of God. God’s grace is varied, manifold, multi-faceted, and rich.

We may see a brother who is sad or down, and we may just sit with him or give him a cup of water, and something of the divine dispensing is taking place.

We all as members of the Body of Christ are stewards of the manifold grace of God.

We enjoy something of God’s grace, and we can minister the grace we have enjoyed to others also.

When we see a need, when we see that some saints have a particular need, we first pray and ask so that we may give life, and then we cooperate with the Lord to carry out our stewardship of grace.

When we are channels of supply in the church, it makes a big difference when we are there with the saints, for life and grace can flow through us freely.

Our lives should matter; our lives will matter if we are channels of supply to the dear brothers and sisters for their growth in life and for their enjoyment of Christ. May we pray this to the Lord and ask Him to make this our reality today.

Lord Jesus, keep us daily under Your divine dispensing. May there be a marvellous transmission taking place day by day as we open to Your divine dispensing. Amen, Lord Jesus, we open to You to receive the Spirit of grace bountifully! Fill us with the enjoyment of Christ. Fill us with grace. We want to receive and dispense the Spirit of grace continually to carry out our stewardship of grace. Hallelujah, the Christian living is the living of grace, the experience of grace. Amen, Lord, we want to enjoy and experience more grace today. We want to be filled with grace so that we may carry out our stewardship of grace, the dispensing of grace. Make us channels of life in the church life today. Lord Jesus, we want to be channels of the bountiful supply of the Spirit of grace. We want to be those who minister the word of God’s grace to the saints for their growth in life and for their enjoyment of Christ. Oh Lord, may our life matter to You and to the church as we exercise to be channels of supply to the saints, being good and faithful stewards of the grace of God! Amen!
