Praise the Lord, as believers in Christ we are made full in Christ, in whom all the fullness of the Godhead dwells bodily, and in Him we lack nothing! Hallelujah!
In Col. 2:9 we see that in Christ dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily, and in v. 10 we are told that we are made full in Him; this Him is the One in whom all the fullness dwells, and in Him we’re made full!
When Christ came, when He was incarnated to be a man, in Him dwelt all the fullness of the Godhead; all that the Triune God is, has, has attained, and has obtained, everything is in Christ, dwelling in Him in a bodily form.
He came full of grace and reality; grace not only came through Him but the fullness of grace was in Him, He spoke words of grace, He imparted grace, and everything He did was in and by grace.
Of His fullness we have all received, and grace upon grace; when we open to the Lord, we receive wave after wave of grace until we are filled to overflowing with grace (John 1:16).
This means that, no matter what our outward situation may be, no matter what our health or wealth may look like, in Christ we are being made full, for He constantly dispenses Himself into us to fill us, saturate us, and overflow from us.
A Christian is not a person who barely makes it or who barely has enough for one day, struggling to cope with the situations around him and constantly lacking…rather, a Christian is one who is made full in Christ, one who in Christ lacks nothing.
Our God is rich, full of riches, and He overflowed in Christ, who is the fullness of God; when we come to Christ, we see God, we enjoy God, we are filled with God, God is made real to us, and God becomes our portion.
So we should simply let go of all our reservations and considerations and just open to the all-inclusive, extensive Christ as the mystery of God in whom dwells all the fullness of the Godhead, and let Him flow into us!
It is not only in the meetings or in conferences or trainings that He wants to flow without measure, but all the time! He wants to flood us with Himself, fill us with all that He is, and overflow from us as grace to others.
Why won’t we just let Him flow into us and out of us as grace! If we really touch Christ as One in whom all the fullness of the Godhead dwells, we will receive wave after wave of grace until we are filled with the enjoyment of the riches of God and flow out to others to bring them into this enjoyment!
We have been Put into Christ and we have been made Full in Him, Filled with His Riches
As believers in Christ, we have been put into Christ; through our regeneration we have been grafted into Him, and in our baptism we have been put into Christ.
It is of God that we are in Christ Jesus, who became wisdom to us from God – both righteousness and sanctification and redemption (1 Cor. 1:30).
In Christ dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily, and we have been put in Him; the result is that we have been made full in Him.
The Greek word translated “full” in Col. 2:10 implies completion, perfection.
Because all the fullness of the Godhead dwells in Christ and because we have been put in Him, we have been made full in Him – we have been filled up with the divine riches (1 Cor. 1:30; Eph. 3:8).
Hallelujah, we as believers in Christ have been put into Christ (Gal. 3:27) and we are now identified with Him, one with Him!
All that Christ has and is belongs to us, and all that He has experienced becomes our history. We can now partake of all that Christ is, has, has accomplished, has obtained, and has attained, because we have been put in Him and we are being made full in Him.
Within this Christ is the fullness of the Godhead, and it is of God that we are in Christ Jesus; God put us into Christ, and in Him we’re being made full, we have no lack!
We the believers have been put into the all-inclusive, extensive Christ; we were identified with Him and joined to Him as our Husband, so we are now one with Him organically (Col. 1:28; Rom. 7:2-4; 1 Cor. 6:17).
We are no longer poor, lacking, and weak; in Him we have been made full, for we’re joined to the One in whom all the fullness of the Godhead dwells! In the spiritual reality we are in Christ and we receive all that He is and has!
We just need to exercise faith in order to partake of all that is ours in Christ; we should no longer remain in our own feelings, in our own assessment of ourselves, and in our flesh, but we should exercise our spirit to partake of all that Christ is and has!
When a poor woman marries a rich man, she no longer thinks of herself as poor; she may still feel poor, but she can practice applying the fact that the riches of her husband belong to her.
Similarly, we may feel we are still poor and weak, but we have been married to Christ, we were grafted into Him, and all the riches of Christ are now ours to partake of and be made full in Him!
When we see that in Christ all the fullness of the Godhead dwells bodily and that we have been organically joined to Him, we will realize that we have been made full in Him, in Him we lack nothing, for we can enjoy His riches and be filled with Him to overflowing.
May we have not just a doctrinal understanding of what Christ is and has but a full realization of what we have in Christ, for we have been joined to Him and in Christ we are made full!
Hallelujah, it is of God that we are in Christ Jesus, who became wisdom to us from God – both righteousness and sanctification and redemption! Thank You Lord for being organically joined to us; now in this organic union we can partake of all that You are and have, and in You we are being made full. May we have a full realization of what Christ is and of our organic union with Him so that we would no longer remain in the flesh, the old man, the self, or our feelings concerning ourselves, but we would enjoy Christ, partake of His riches, and be made full in Him! Hallelujah, in Christ we have no lack!
In Christ we are Made Full, we have No Lack, and what He is becomes Ours in Experience
Because we have been made one with Christ, all that He has passed through is now our history, and all that He has obtained and attained is our inheritance.
Christ came to be the embodiment of the fullness of the Godhead, and in Him all the fullness was pleased to dwell.
Now we are joined to Him, we are one with Him, and in Him we are made full, we have no lack, and all that He is becomes ours in our experience.
Just as Christ was the history of God, so now Christ’s history is our history; God’s history is Christ’s history, and Christ’s history is now our history. The result is that all that Christ and all that Christ has belongs to us, and all that He has experienced has become our history (Col. 2:11-13; 3:1).
All the processes that He went through with their spiritual reality are ours; His incarnation, His perfect humanity, His uplifted human living, His all-inclusive and all-terminating death, His death-defeating and life-imparting resurrection, and His all-transcending ascension and enthronement, all these are ours in spirit for us to enjoy and partake of.
Whatever Christ passed through, that’s what we also passed through; His history becomes our history.
But many times in our experience we still think we are poor, pitiful, and low, and we may even pray to the Lord declaring how poor and low we are. Such a prayer is without faith or assurance.
We need to believe with full assurance that we are one with the rich, all-inclusive, extensive Christ, with the One who is the embodiment of all the fullness of the Triune God.
We shouldn’t believe our feelings about ourselves but look away to Christ; we should exercise our faith to realize what He is, what He has passed through, and what He has obtained and attained, for what He is belongs to us, and where He is we also are!
Christ is in the third heaven – and we are one with Him; we have been placed into Christ who is unsearchable rich and highly exalted, and in Him we have no lack!
In Christ we are made perfect, complete, and in Him we do not lack anything.
In the Christ in whom we are is the fullness, the perfection, the completion, and He Himself is the fullness; because we are in Him, we are complete and perfect, we are made full in Him, and in Him we lack nothing.
This is not mere “positive thinking” – this is the declaration of faith based on the truth in the word of God.
In Christ we are richer than any earthly billionaires because He has the unsearchable riches; we simply have no idea what vast riches we possess in Christ.
We should no longer complain to the Lord in prayer of how poor we are and how weak we feel but we should exercise our spirit of faith to declare how rich, complete, and full we are in Christ, and how in Him we are short of nothing!
We should tell the Lord, the angels, and even the demons that we are rich in Christ, we are made full in Him, and in Him we lack nothing, for the riches of the One to whom we’re organically joined are unsearchable! Hallelujah!
Thank You Lord Jesus for making us rich, complete, and full in You. Hallelujah, we are in Christ and He has unsearchable riches overflowing; in this One we lack nothing, we are not poor or weak but we are strong, victorious, and we are short of nothing! We come to You, Lord, and we exercise our spirit of faith to partake of all Your riches in faith. Hallelujah, in the Christ to whom we’re joined is the fullness, the perfection, and the completion, and in Him we are made full!

- Hymns on this topic:
– All is in Christ; / God’s dear Son is Lord of all. / In me there is naught but weakness, / I am worthless, full of sin, / Stricken by its mortal sickness, / Lacking light and hope within. / Now in Christ I find abundant / Victory and strength and power. / Savior, come and live in me, / Come and make me rich in Thee. (Hymns #515)
– There is always something over, / When we share in all His love; / Unplumbed depths still lie beneath us, / Unscaled heights rise far above. / Human lips can never utter / All His wondrous tenderness. / We can only praise and wonder / And His Name forever bless, / We can only praise and wonder / And His Name forever bless. (Hymns #595)
– In our good land we eat the bread— / There is no scarcity. / We never lack one thing in Him, / So rich, so full is He. / He is a land so vast, immense; / He is complete in every sense. / How He expands—land of all lands— / In our heart! (Hymns #1164)
