As we are sanctified through the truth, we move out of ourselves and into the Triune God, Christ lives in us, and we are perfected into one to be in the enlarged oneness of the Triune God.
There is so much division both in the world and in Christianity today, and the main reason is the self, because everyone lives in the self.
This is why the Lord prayed in John 17 that we as His disciples and believers would not be taken out of the world but rather, we would be sanctified in the truth and brought into the enlarged oneness of the Triune God.
The oneness that the Lord prayed for in John 17 was our being brought into “Us”, in the Triune God.
This means that, the more we are sanctified through the truth, the more we move out of ourselves and into the Triune God.
The evil one is operating all over the world as his satanic cosmos to keep all men in division; however, we take the lead to be sanctified in the truth and move out of ourselves and into the Triune God.
Satan started the evil of division from Babel, and it will consummate in Babylon the great.
Pentecost, however, was anti-Babel, for as we see in Acts 2, there were people of many different languages in the church in Jerusalem, but they were transferred out of themselves and into the Triune God to be fully one.
If we look around us, even though the world has always been divided, now they are the most divided ever, for the evil one has intensified his work.
But praise the Lord, God in Christ as the Spirit has been intensified sevenfold to counteract the degradation of the church and the existing division, and we can be sanctified through the truth and move out of ourselves and into the Triune God!
When we are sanctified in the truth, our opinions and concepts are put aside, our ambition is exposed and annulled, and any self-exaltation is rejected.
Opinions and concepts come out of ambition and self-exaltation; ambition is the source, self-exaltation comes from ambition, and self-exaltation is embodied in our opinions and concepts.
As we are being sanctified through the truth by coming to the Lord as we come to the Word of God to receive the Word in a living way, we move out of ourselves and into the Triune God to be in the genuine oneness.
In ourselves, we have many factors of division, and we can’t sanctify ourselves; however, when the truth sanctifies us, we move out of ourselves and into the Triune God, and Christ lives in us!
Hallelujah for the sanctification that takes place by the word (which is the truth) and by the Spirit (who is the Spirit of truth)!
To have Genuine Oneness we need to Move out of Ourselves into the Triune God and allow Christ to Live in us
In John 14 the Lord Jesus said that He was going to prepare a place for us; this place is not “the heavenly mansion” or anything like that – it is God the Father Himself.
The Lord Jesus went to the Father to prepare a place for us, and this place is the Father’s house, which is the Triune God Himself so that where He is, we would also be there.
At the moment, while in the flesh, our lodging place is in ourselves; when we live in the flesh or in the self, we lodge in ourselves.
But when we are sanctified in the truth, we move out of ourselves (our old lodging place) and into the Triune God (our new lodging place).
The unbelievers can lodge only in themselves; however, we believers have a choice: we can either lodge in ourselves or dwell in the Triune God.
The Lord Jesus is in the Father, and He desires that we – His believers – would also be in the Father. He has prepared a place for us, and we can move into Him by being sanctified through the truth.
We do this by continually touching the Word and allowing the Spirit to touch us day by day; this sanctifies us and causes us to move out of ourselves and into the Triune God.
Hallelujah, we can move out of ourselves and into the Triune God by being sanctified in the truth!
At the same time that we are in the Triune God, the Lord is also in us; when we abide in His word and His word abides in us, He dwells with us and we dwell with Him (John 17:23).
We move out of ourselves and into the Triune God, and when we’re in the Triune God by being sanctified through the truth, Christ can live in us.
When we remain in the Triune God and when Christ lives in us, we have the genuine oneness, which is the oneness of the Triune God being enlarged to include us.
For us to have the genuine oneness, we must first move out of ourselves and into the Triune God, and then we must allow Christ to live in us.
This is what it means to grow in life: to grow in the divine life is to move out of ourselves and into the Triune God and to allow Christ to live in us.
If we do this, if we grow in life in a proper way every day by moving out of ourselves and into the Triune God and by letting Christ live in us, we can be one with the saints in any locality.
Many times it seems that we can be one with so many saints around the world except the saints that the Lord put us with in our locality.
We may even tell others that they don’t know the saints in our locality, they don’t understand…it may seem so easy to be one with saints that are across the world or the country, but not so easy to be one with the saints in our locality.
The Lord is so wise: He has put us in the right spot to test whether our growth in life is real, whether our contact with the truth is real.
If these are real, they will issue in oneness with the saints in any locality.
May we grow in life in a normal way every day by moving out of ourselves and into the Triune God and by allowing Christ to live in us for the genuine oneness of the Body of Christ!
May we choose not to lodge in ourselves anymore but be sanctified through the truth so that we may be in the Triune God and Christ may live in us for us all to be one, even as the Triune God is one!
Lord Jesus, we want to abide in Your word and allow Your word to abide in us so that You may come with the Father and make an abode with us. Amen, Lord, sanctify us through the truth so that we may move out of ourselves and into the Triune God! Amen, Lord Jesus, we allow You to live in us. Keep us abiding in God and have a way for Christ to live in us today for the genuine oneness! Amen, Lord, we want to continually touch the Word and allow the Spirit to touch us day by day so that we may be sanctified. Keep us growing in life day by day as we are in the process of being sanctified to move out of ourselves and into the Triune God and as Christ lives in us!
Being Perfected into One by being in God and by having Christ Living in us to Live in the Father’s Glory
When we are in ourselves, even though we may be full of zeal for the Lord and for the church life, we cannot be one.
All that we are in ourselves is ambition (implied in John 17:21), self-exaltation (v. 22), and concepts and opinions (v. 23).
In the Triune God, however, there’s no ambition; rather, the Triune God is one, works as one, live as one, and have one expression and manifestation, working in full coordination.
In the glory of the Father there is no self-exaltation, and in the place where Christ lives and reigns there are no opinions.
In other words, there are many problems when we are in ourselves, but in the Triune God there are no problems; rather, when we are being sanctified in the truth, we are perfected into one to be brought into the enlarged oneness of the Triune God.
When we are in the divine and mystical realm of the processed Triune God, our ambition is swallowed up, our self-exaltation disappears, and our concepts and opinions are killed.
When we move out of ourselves and into the Triune God, there’s no evil of division as it exists in the Satan-systematized world but rather, we have and are in genuine oneness.
This verse, John 17:23, is so mysterious and so profound, yet it is so wonderful and experiential; when we are in the Triune God (“I in them and You in Me”), we are being perfected into one.
To be perfected into one means that we’re rescued from worldliness, ambition, self-exaltation, and opinions and concepts, on the negative side, and to be in the Triune God and have Christ living in us on the positive side.
“I in them” means that the Son is living and moving in us, for He is in us. “You in Me” means that the Father is living and moving in the Son.
In other words, while the Son lives and moves in us, the Father lives and moves in Him; by this twofold living and moving, we are perfected into one, and we express the Father in glory.
To express the Father in glory means that we no longer express our self, our opinions, and our concepts; we express Him. When we are in God and Christ lives in us, and we come together to serve, we are perfected into one.
As we move out of ourselves and into the Triune God by being sanctified through the truth, we need to let Christ live in us.
Christ living in us and our being in God perfects us into one.
By moving out of ourselves and into the Triune God, we have oneness; the perfected oneness, however, is when Christ lives in us.
This oneness is the genuine oneness, which is not merely meeting together but first moving out of ourselves and into the Triune God, and allowing the Lord to live in us.
This perfected oneness is the real building up of the Body; being built up in the Body is not merely knowing who are the immediate members in the Body and what your relationship is with them, but us being in God and Christ living in us.
The real building of the Body is our proper growth in life; when we grow in life in a normal way, we get out of ourselves and into the Triune God, and Christ lives in us.
When this is our experience, we have genuine oneness, and we are perfected into one. Amen!
When we’re perfected into one, there’s no problem with the building; wherever we are, wherever we go, and whomever we meet, we are one with the saints in the Body.
But if we remain in ourselves, we will have problems no matter what we do and where we are.
Some saints blame the environment or the saints when they have problems in the church life; instead of blaming others, we should simply come to the truth in a living way and move out of ourselves and into the Triune God, and we should allow Christ to live in us.
When we do this, we are perfected into one, and we can be one with all the saints in the Body and for the Body.
The Lord has given us the Father’s glory so that we may be perfected into one; when we are one in the Father’s glory, we no longer express ourselves but Christ, the One who lives in us and the One we are in!
Lord, perfect us into one so that we may have the real building and the real growth in life. Hallelujah, The Father is living and moving in the Son, and the Son is living and moving in us! Amen, Lord, live and move in us today for us to be perfected into one and to express the Father in glory. Keep us growing in life by moving out of ourselves and into the Triune God and by allowing Christ to live in us. Oh Lord, bring us into the genuine oneness, the enlarged oneness of the Triune God. May we daily take the initiative to move out of ourselves and into the Triune God and remain in Him for the Father’s glory! Be expressed through us!
