Grace in Acts: Great Grace is upon the Saints and we Continue in the Grace of God

...and great grace was upon them all. Acts 4:33

We need to see grace in the book of Acts, and in particular, we need to see how great grace was upon them all (upon the disciples) and how we all need to continue in the grace of God. Amen for grace!

There are many different aspects of grace for our enjoyment and experience, for today in the age of grace, God gives Himself in Christ to us for our experience and enjoyment.

God is constantly dispensing Himself as grace to us, and we need to be constant enjoyers of grace in our daily living.

No matter what situations we go through, no matter how difficult our circumstances are, we can enjoy the Lord’s sufficient grace. His grace is sufficient to us in our weakness, and His overshadowing power is perfected in our weakness.

Thank the Lord for His grace. We have received grace, we stand in grace, and now we are being perfected, established, strengthened, and grounded by God’s all grace – after we have suffered a little while.

Being a believer in Christ is a wonderful thing, but this doesn’t mean that we will no longer suffer; rather, sufferings and trials are our portion day by day. However, even in our suffering, we can enjoy the Lord as grace.

We can enjoy the all grace of God perfecting us, establishing us, and strengthening and grounding us.

As we enjoy the Lord as grace day by day, we are entrusted with a stewardship of grace. The grace we enjoy becomes a stewardship, so that we may also minister this grace to others and dispense Christ as grace into them for their enjoyment.

Thank the Lord that His economy becomes our stewardship today. We can carry out the stewardship of the grace of God entrusted to us by Him to dispense the riches of Christ as the grace of God.

This is not only something we do when we’re in the meetings, but every day, in our daily living, we can speak words of grace for building up.

Thank the Lord that He fills us with the enjoyment of Christ as grace, and He flows from us as words for building up to give grace to those who hear.

May we be such ones today. May we receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness so that we may reign in life through Christ, allowing the grace of Christ to reign in us. Grace reigns in us unto eternal life.

As we are filled with the enjoyment of Christ through receiving the abundance of grace, grace reigns in us! Hallelujah!

When we all enjoy grace in such a way, we all have grace upon us in the church, and the church is being built up! When others come among us, they see the grace of God being visible among us! Praise the Lord!

Great Grace is Upon the Saints – the Living Jesus is Moving, Convincing and Subduing, even becoming the Visible Grace of God

And with great power the apostles gave testimony of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all. Acts 4:33

In Acts 4:33 we are told that with great power, the apostles gave testimony of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all.

We may enjoy grace individually, but when we come together and enjoy the Lord as grace, great grace is upon us all, and we believers receive great grace.

Thank the Lord that we have been crucified with Christ and now Christ is in us as our life and life supply, even as our person. We live one with the Lord; He lives in us, we live in Him, and we have one life and one living together.

Two lives have one living, two natures are mingled together into one nature, and two spirits have become one spirit.

As we live one spirit with the Lord (1 Cor. 6:17; Gal. 2:20), we become a living organism for the proessed and consummated Triune God to live among us organically for His expression. Praise the Lord!

As others come among us and see us, they see and appreciate that great grace is upon us all. This happened at the time of Pentecost, where thousands of people were being brought to the Lord (Acts 2:41; 4:4).

Today the Lord wants to pour out great grace upon all the churches so that people would touch the Lord in a real way and eventually grace would be visible. He wants to gain a situation in which people can realise that great grace is upon the believers.

What is this great grace? This grace is nothing less than the living Jesus moving, convincing, subduing, releasing, uplifting, and transcending.

Christ comes as the life-giving Spirit to dispense is life into us, work His life into us, so that He can move, convince, subdue, release, uplift, and transcend. This is the reigning grace.

We need to open to the Lord and enjoy Him as grace in our daily life until grace reigns in us.

We all need to open to the Lord more and more in our inner being to give Him the ground to dispense grace into us so that we can experience the Triune God as our grace. Acts 11:23 speaks of Barnabas coming and seeing the grace of God. Wow!

When he saw the grace of God, Barnabas rejoiced and encouraged the saints all to remain with the Lord with purpose of heart.

What is this grace that Barnabas saw? Can grace be visible among us? What is the grace that is visible among us?

When we speak of having great grace upon us and even having grace visible among us we don’t just speak of enjoying the Lord outwardly and that’s it.

We receive and enjoy the Triune God in Christ as our grace, and we express Him in our salvation, change in life, holy living, and the gifts we exercise in our meetings, all of which can be seen by others.

Today, we need to be those who open to the Lord from the depths of our being to give Him more ground in us so that He may be expressed in our salvation, in our change in life, and in our holy living.

Then, He will also be expressed through us in our meetings by the gifts we exercise for the building up of the church. Hallelujah!

Who, when he arrived and saw the grace of God, rejoiced and encouraged them all to remain with the Lord with purpose of heart. Acts 11:23As we do this, as we enjoy the grace of God in our daily living and allow the Lord to make many changes in our being, others will see the grace of God among us, for grace will become visible among us.

Oh, may we remain with the Lord with purpose of heart as we enjoy Christ as grace!

May we be persistently faithful to the Lord, cleave to Him, and live in close fellowship with Him in our daily life so that He may be expressed as grace through us!

Especially in our words, we need to learn to minister grace to others through our words.

Many times our words are just empty, even wasted, and we do not minister Christ to others. May we learn to minister the grace of God as part of the entire salvation of God (Eph. 4:29).

May we humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God and allow Him to humble us so that He would give us grace.

Lord Jesus, keep us enjoying You as grace today until great grace is upon us all in the church life! Hallelujah, God desires to pour out great grace upon all the churches so that people’s lives may be affected and they would touch the Lord in a real way! Do it, Lord! Dispense more grace into us. Pour out more grace upon us. May there be the living Jesus moving, convincing, subduing, releasing, uplifting, and transcending! Move in us as grace, Convince us, subdue us, release us, and uplift us as we enjoy You as grace. May we enjoy the Triune God in Christ to such an extent that grace becomes visible among us! Yes, Lord Jesus, may others see the grace of God among us! May we receive and enjoy the Triune God, and may we express Him in our salvation and change in life. Amen, Lord, may we partake of the grace of God and express God in our holy living and in the gifts we exercise in our meetings! Praise the Lord! We want to be persistently faithful to You, cleave to You, and live in close fellowship with You today!

Continue in the Grace of God, enjoying the Holy and Faithful Things

...Paul and Barnabas, who spoke to them and urged them to continue in the grace of God. Acts 13:43

A particular mention of the grace of God is seen in Acts 13:43, where Paul and Barnabas spoke to the saints and urged them to continue in the grace of God.

We have already received the grace of God; now we need to continue in it. Thank the Lord that the grace of God was given to us; we have it, and we simply need to continue in the grace of God.

The context of this verse is that many of the Jews and the devout proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas, who spoke to them and urged them to continue in the grace of God.

Paul and Barnabas encouraged and even urged them to continue in the grace of God, that is, to continue to enjoy Christ as their life and everything so that their living would express Him!

We need to continue in the grace of God, which is the Triune God received and enjoyed by us and expressed in our salvation, change in life, and holy living. Amen!

When many Christians hear that grace is God in Christ enjoyed by us, they may look down on it, for they think that we need to do many things, have a genuine change in our life, and have a particular expression that is manifested.

All these are true, but they are not for us to try to do in ourselves. What we need to do is enjoy the grace of God and continue in the grace of God, and there will be a spontaneous reaction and result.

As we receive and enjoy the grace of God, that is, the Triune God in Christ to be our enjoyment, we will have a certain expression in our salvation, in a particular change in life, and in our holy living.

The grace we enjoy will have a result, and outward expression; however, it is not us who change our life or do our best to have a holy living but it is the grace of God enjoyed by us and expressed through us.

In Acts 13, the grace of God in verse 43 refers to the holy and faithful things in verse 34. God spoke in this way, I will give you the holy things of David, the faithful things.

What is the grace of God? The grace of God is the holy and faithful things, which is just Christ Himself. These are the mercies of God, the different aspects of what Christ is for our enjoyment and experience.

Christ is all-inclusive, vast, and immense, and the grace of God is the holy and faithful things being given to us for our enjoyment. Thank the Lord that God has given to us the resurrected Christ as the holy and faithful things.

We who have believed into the Lord Jesus have received the holy and faithful things. We need to enjoy these things.

And as to His having raised Him up from the dead, no longer to return to corruption, He spoke in this way, "I will give you the holy things of David, the faithful things." Acts 13:34As we exercise our spirit to touch the Lord and enjoy Him, we experience the compound, all-inclusive grace, which is the processed Triune God! Amen!

This grace is the Triune God who went through the processes of incarnation, human living, crucifixion, and resurrection to be our enjoyment and experience day by day.

We enjoy and experience this One, and He becomes our life and everything to us. Oh, how wonderful it is that we have received the holy and faithful things through faith in Christ!

May we remain in the enjoyment of the grace of God and continue in the grace of God in our daily living.

We do this by exercising our spirit. Grace is with our spirit.

The all-inclusive Christ is the Spirit with our spirit, and we enjoy this grace as our bountiful supply when we turn to our spirit and remain in our spirit.

Lord Jesus, we want to continue in the grace of God today! Hallelujah, we have been given grace at the time of our regeneration, and now we can remain in the enjoyment of this grace! Amen, Lord, thank You for being grace with our spirit! Hallelujah, the Triune God in Christ went through a process to become the all-inclusive, compound grace with our spirit! Amen, Lord, we open to You today. We turn to our spirit. We exercise our spirit to enjoy the grace of God. Thank You for giving us grace, the holy and faithful things. We want to continue in the grace of God by enjoying the holy and faithful things in our daily living. Amen, Lord, keep us enjoying You as grace until You are expressed in our salvation, change in life, and holy living. Work Yourself into us. Constitute us with what You are. Change us from within. Work out a change in our life and cause us to have a holy living! We just want to enjoy You as the grace of God and we want to continue in the grace of God today!

We need to pay particular attention to the word grace in 13:43. We even need to analyze this grace…The grace in 13:43 is a compound formed of a number of elements. This grace is compounded of all the holy and faithful things. In verse 34 we have the resurrected Christ as the holy and faithful things. According to both the promise and prophecy of the Old Testament, these holy and faithful things are mercies…

These mercies are different aspects of what Christ is. In verse 43 the expression is changed from the holy things of David, the faithful things to grace. God has given us the resurrected Christ as the holy and faithful things, and we have believed in Him and have received all these holy and faithful things. But what do we experience in our daily life? We experience the compound, all-inclusive grace, which is the processed Triune God, the very God who went through the processes of incarnation, human living, crucifixion, and resurrection.

This is the reason Paul urged the believers to continue in the grace of God. To continue in the grace implies that we have already received this grace. Having received the grace of God, we now need to continue in it.

Actually, the believers received the holy and faithful things spoken of in verse 34. Then these holy and faithful things became the grace of God in verse 43. Hence, the grace of God is compounded of all the holy and faithful things.

When we look back and examine our experience of the various means of grace, we will get an idea of how much we have gone on with God. If our spiritual progress has been through prayer, listening to messages, and reading the Bible alone, we have missed the chief means of receiving grace. All the things that come upon us every day in the family, in our school, in our work, or even on the street are arranged by the Holy Spirit for our highest good and profit. If we have not received profit from them and if we remain ignorant and closed to this greatest means of grace, we will suffer the greatest loss. The discipline of the Holy Spirit is too crucial; it is a Christian’s main means of receiving grace throughout his life. Our reading of the Bible cannot replace the discipline of the Holy Spirit. Our prayer cannot replace the discipline of the Holy Spirit. Our meetings cannot replace the discipline of the Holy Spirit. No other means of grace can replace the discipline of the Holy Spirit. We need to pray, to study the Bible, to listen to messages, and to have all kinds of means of grace. They are all precious, but none of them can replace the discipline of the Holy Spirit. If we have not learned the proper lessons in the discipline of the Holy Spirit, we cannot be proper Christians and can never serve God. Listening to messages can nourish our inner being. Prayer can revive us inwardly. Reading God’s Word can refresh us within. Helping others can release our spirit. However, if our outer man remains strong, others will encounter mixture when they encounter us; they will realize that we are not that pure. On the one hand, they will feel our zeal; on the other hand, they will sense our mixture. On the one hand, they will see that we do love the Lord; on the other hand, they also will know that we love ourselves. On the one hand, they can say that here is a precious brother; on the other hand, they have to say that here is a stubborn brother. The outer man is not yet broken. We are edified not only when we pray, listen to messages, and study the Bible. Our greatest edification comes when we are under the discipline of the Holy Spirit.

We need an absolute consecration on our side. But we can never assume that consecration can replace the discipline of the Holy Spirit. Consecration affords the Holy Spirit a chance to work on us freely. We should say, “Lord, I commit myself to Your hand. I allow You to work freely. Lord, give me what You think I need.” If we yield to the arrangement of the Holy Spirit, we will reap the benefit. The very act of yielding will bring us benefit. But if we do not yield, instead arguing with God and walking according to our own will, we will end up taking the crooked path no matter what way we take. The basic issue is whether or not we can give ourselves to God unconditionally, unreservedly, and unequivocally for Him to deal with us freely. If we realize that all of God’s arrangements are for our highest good, including those things that bring us embarrassment, and if we are willing to give ourselves to God in this way, we will find the Holy Spirit dealing with us in many things.

We have received grace, and now we need to continue in it.

As we enjoy and experience Christ as grace, He is expressed in our daily living, in our salvation, in our change in life, and in our holy living.

Oh Lord Jesus, keep us enjoying You as grace today. May Your grace be visible among us so that others may see You being expressed through us. Amen, Lord, we want to continue in the grace of God!

Aaaaameeen!

In Acts 13:34, we see that God has given us the resurrected Christ as holy and faithful things. These holy things are mercies, the sure mercies of David which are different aspects of what Christ is!

In verse 43, the expression is changed from the holy and faithful things of David to grace.

To continue in grace implies we have already received this grace; the grace of God is compounded of all these holy and faithful things!

The very God who passed through the processes fulfilling God’s promise and prophecies! Hallelujah!

Praise the Lord for the all-inclusive grace to experience, enjoy, and express Him in our all walk of life.

We are called to live the life of the person living in us. Christ is our person.

He and we live together, two lives have one living, two natures are mingled into one nature, and two spirits become one spirit.

Such a living is the organism for the processed and consummated Triune God to live among us organically for His expression. Amen.
