Being Willing to be Headed up in Christ by Growing in Life and Living in the Light

The heading up of all things in Christ takes place through the dispensing of the abundant life supply of the Triune God into us; the more the factor of life is ministered to us, the more we rise up and become attached; God’s way to head us up is to work Himself as the factor of life into us that we may rise up and be attached to one another. (Witness Lee, Life-Study of Ephesians)God has chosen us, predestinated us, redeemed us, forgiven us, and graced us in Christ for the purpose of heading up all things in Christ (see Eph. 1:3-10).

God’s purpose in blessing us with every spiritual blessing in Christ Jesus in the heavenlies and for giving Himself to us as our enjoyment is so that we would be headed up in Christ and through the church God would head up all things in Christ.

God has decided already who is the Head over all things: it is Christ; God made Christ Head over all things to the church, and today the church enjoys the dispensing of Christ the Head in order that the church would be headed up in Christ.

What is happening today in the world with all the military leaders, presidents, prime ministers, and governors – all this is not as important as the heading up of the church in Christ which is going on in the background.

When all believers take Christ as their Head and are one with Him to be headed up in Christ, then all things in the universe will be headed up in Christ through the church.

We simply need to be willing to participate in this heading up of all things: we need to grow in life day by day and live under Christ’s light so that we may enjoy the divine dispensing to be headed up in Christ.

The more we enjoy the divine dispensing through our fellowship with the Lord with the exercise of our spirit, the more we rise up from the universal heap of collapse and become attached to the other members of the Body to be one Body under Christ as the Head.

May the Lord grant us the vision of His highest purpose for the church: the heading up of all things in Christ through the church. When we see this vision, we will give ourselves to the Lord to grow in life every day, walk in the divine light, and live in the church life to be built up with the other saints on the proper ground of oneness in the Body so that God would head us up in Christ.

When the church is headed up in Christ, God can head up all things in Christ and the whole universe will enjoy absolute peace and harmony, being fully rescued out of the universal collapse.

God made Christ the Head over All Things to the Church (Eph. 1:22)

And He subjected all things under His feet and gave Him to be Head over all things to the church. Eph. 1:22With God this is settled: Christ is the Head over all things (Eph. 1:22), and all things are under Christ as the Head, the Ruler, and the King.

God made Christ the Head over all things to the church, and throughout all the dispensations of God in all the ages (the age of sin, the law, grace, and the kingdom), all things will be headed up in Christ in the new heaven and new earth.

God’s purpose and His heart’s desire will be fully accomplished in the New Jerusalem where all things will be headed up in Christ through the church.

Today we need to see that God has chosen us, predestinated us, redeemed us, forgiven us, and graced us for the purpose of heading up all things in Christ (see Eph. 1:1-10).

Although we as genuine believers in Christ are small in number, we are the most important people on the earth, even more important than government leaders, military leaders, politicians, presidents, CEOs, leaders in industry, or any highly respected person.

We need to see that God operates in us by His grace to save us and make us His inheritance, and He is also working in us to head up all things in Christ. God wants to gain a group of people who would take the lead to take Him as the Head, and these ones will be one with Him for all things to be headed up in Christ.

The Body of Christ, the church, may share in all that is of Christ as the Head as it is being rescued from the heap of the universal collapse in death and darkness.

Because of the rebellion of Satan, the angels, and of man, the whole universe is in a state of collapse; we as men can be rescued from this collapse by being headed up in Christ. Through the precious dispensing of the Triune God little-by-little day-by-day we are being headed up in Christ.

First God redeemed us, then He comes into us as life to fill us and head us up from the universal heap of collapse. As we enjoy the Lord and are headed up in Christ, we enjoy the transmission of Christ’s headship to the church; in this sense, the church as the Body of Christ can share the headship of Christ the Head over all things.

One by one, the believers in Christ are being rescued out of the universal heap of collapse and are brought under Christ as the Head, and in Christ we are above all things and persons, ruling and reigning in the life of Christ.

Lord Jesus, You are our Head, our Lord, and our King. Head us up in You in all our daily life with its daily activities. Lord, thank You for choosing us, predestinating us, redeeming us, forgiving us, and giving Yourself to us as grace to be enjoyed by us so that we may be headed up in You. Keep us enjoying You today as we take You as our Head. Lord, make us those who take the lead to be headed up in You so that through the church You may head up all things in Christ!

Being Willing to be Headed up in Christ by Growing in Life and Living under Christ’s Light

Again therefore Jesus spoke to them, saying, I am the light of the world; he who follows Me shall by no means walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. John 8:12A very simple and practical way for us to participate in being headed up in Christ in the church life today is being willing to be headed up by growing in life and living under Christ’s light.

Christ came as the light of the world, and in Him was life (John 1:4; 8:12). We were once darkness but are now light in the Lord; we should walk therefore as children of light, living out the Triune God shining from within us (Eph. 5:8-9).

We need to take the lead to be headed up in Christ not by trying to “be the boss” but by growing in life and living under the divine light. The heading up in the church is a matter of life; the more we grow in the divine life, the more we are rescued out of the heap of collapse and are headed up in Christ.

Also, the heading up in Christ takes place by light (Rev. 21:23-25); the more we walk in the light of life, the more we are brought under Christ as the Head.

In Ezek. 37 we see a good picture of this: there was a valley full of dead, dry, scattered bones, and God told Ezekiel to prophesy over the bones by speaking the word of God. When Ezekiel spoke God’s word, the bones came together, flesh and blood came on them, and they became a great army.

Before believing into Christ all men are like dead, dry, and scattered bones in a dry place; once we receive the Lord’s word, life came into us and we were headed up to become an army for the fulfillment of God’s purpose.

Apart from Christ we all are in a valley of dry bones: very dry, scattered, and detached. But when we receive God’s living word, when we exercise our spirit to pray over the word of God and call on the name of the Lord, the word becomes the breath of life (1 Tim. 3:16) and gives us the divine life, causing us to rise up and be attached to others and be a great army for the Lord’s purpose.

All Scripture is God-breathed; when we breathe in the word of God through the exercise of our spirit, we are filled with life and are headed up in Christ. When we enjoy the dispensing of the abundant life supply of the Triune God into us, we are being headed up in Christ.

The more we enjoy the factor of the divine life being ministered into us, the more we rise up and become attached to one another and to Christ, the Head.

When God heads up all things in Christ, there will be absolute peace and harmony, a full rescue out of the universal collapse; this will begin from the restoration of all things (Acts 3:21).

In the restoration of all things a little boy will play and lead a lion cub and a wolf, and people will beat their swords into plows: there will be absolute peace and harmony in the universe (see Isa. 2:4; 11:6; 55:12; Psa. 96:12-13).

May we take the lead to grow in life and walk under Christ’s light today by breathing in God’s living word and calling on the name of the Lord so that we as the church would be brought under Christ as the Head in life.

Lord Jesus, breathe Your Spirit upon us as we exercise our spirit to pray over Your word. Lord, change any death in us into life and cause us by the factor of Your divine life to rise up and be attached to others to be the headed-up church! Perfect us into on through the dispensing of Yourself as life. Lord, keep us enjoying the dispensing of Your abundant life supply into us so that we may be headed up in You. We want to grow in life and live under Your divine light day by day in the church life for the heading up of all things in Christ!

The light of the old creation is the sun, moon and stars. The light of the new creation is Christ to us as the light of life. Christ as the Spirit quickened our spirit, He made it alive unto God, and as the life-giving Spirit, He shines within us both to expose and expel the darkness within us, and to impart new life into our soul, to renew us in our mind, emotion and will. As we keep exercised in spirit, more life enters into our being and with His life come light. As more light shines and we turn and repent of the darkness (sin) within us, Christ shines new life as a supply to strengthen us with power to overcome all of the degradation caused by the sin which enter into the world through the fall of man. More and more, as our eyes are opened, we see our need to enjoy Christ as the reality and the life, as grace upon grace to us, through the exercise of our spirit, enlivening and shining within us as the light of life, until one day, we will shine with in and with His glory. We can enjoy, experience and express what we will fully be the New Jerusalem. Christ shining within us as the light of life.

I really enjoyed this matter of being willing to be headed up in Christ by growing in life and living under the divine light. Also, I enjoyed this portion from brother Lee’s ministry on this topic,

God’s eternal intention is to head up all things in Christ, who has been appointed to be the universal Head. The first step God takes to accomplish this is to head up His chosen ones in Him. One by one, God rescues His people from the heap caused by the universal collapse…[and places] them under the headship of Christ. Here, under the headship of Christ, we are outside of the heap of the universal collapse, and we are over all things….When the church takes the lead to be headed up in Christ, God has a way to head up all other things. (Life-study of Ephesians, pp. 72-80, by Witness Lee)

I love this song on “Rise up! Grow in life! Minister Christ to the nations!” expressing our need to grow in the divine life so that we may be headed up in Christ and bring the gospel to all the nations! See the video via https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ulVub-blKGE

1. The church is the building up
Of all God’s chosen and redeemed,
Regenerated and transformed people,
The ultimate work of God,
His counterpart, the new man,
The seven golden lampstands,
God’s house on earth,
The Body of Christ,
The desire of God’s heart.

2. Praise the Lord! Philadelphia:
They hold fast to God’s Word,
Never denying His name,
Living in the local church,
Fellowshipping universally
On the ground of genuine oneness,
Constituting the Body of Christ.

3. Rise up! Grow in life!
Minister Christ to the nations,
Arrive at oneness—
Lord, have mercy,
We would see Your eternal purpose.
Keep us faithful
To recover and build up Your church.
