We Live Christ for His Magnification by the Bountiful Supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ

For you have been bought with a price. So then glorify God in your body. 1 Cor. 6:20

As believers in Christ, we live in the Divine Trinity by living Christ for His magnification by the bountiful supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ; we need to live Christ and magnify Christ by this bountiful supply day by day. Amen!

Before we can live Christ for His magnification, however, we need the supply; we need to be inwardly supplied with the resurrection life, the divine life that is in our spirit, so that we may live Christ day by day.

How can we be supplied by the divine life so that we may live Christ for His magnification?

It is by our cooperation; we need to cooperate with the Lord to breathe Him in, drink Him, and eat Him, and we need to digest and assimilate Him so that we may live because of Him.

Just as our human life is sustained by our eating and drinking and breathing, so spiritually we are sustained and supplied simply by eating the Lord in His word, drinking the Spirit by conversing with the Lord continually, and breathing in the Lord as the Spirit by calling on His name.

The only way for us to be healthy and normal in our Christian life is by having the life practices, that is, by practicing to enjoy the Lord as our life and life supply.

The Lord as the Spirit is in our spirit, but we need to turn to Him, contact Him, and enjoy Him.

The Lord as the Spirit who gives life is embodied in His word, so we need to come to His word with the exercise of our spirit to contact the Lord and receive His element.

If we do not cooperate with the Lord to eat Him, drink Him, and breathe Him, we will be undernourished, and we cannot live a proper Christian life.

So many problems come in because of improper eating.

There are so many diseases and weaknesses that come upon us simply because we don’t properly eat the Lord, breathe Him in, and drink Him as the Spirit.

But if we daily exercise our spirit to contact the Lord, if we call on His name again and again, if we converse with Him throughout the day, and if we read, pray, and muse on His word, we will grow in life in a normal way, and we will live Christ for His magnification.

The Christ we eat, drink, and breathe becomes a bountiful supply to enable us to live Christ so that we can magnify Him in all our circumstances and situations.

May we stay away from the food that TV or the internet serves us for free, and may we pay the price to eat the Lord in His word, drink Him as the Spirit by conversing with the Lord, and breathe Him in by calling on the name of the Lord.

The Believers Live Christ for His Magnification by the Bountiful Supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ

For I know that for me this will turn out to salvation through your petition and [the] bountiful supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ. Phil. 1:19

For us to live in the Divine Trinity is for us to live Christ for His magnification; the way we can live Christ so that we may magnify Christ is by the bountiful supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ (Phil. 1:19-21).

No one can live Christ to magnify Him by himself or in himself; we need a great supply – the bountiful supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ.

As believers in Christ, we live Christ by the bountiful supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ (v. 19).

Today Christ is the Spirit, and this Spirit is the processed and consummated Triune God; this Spirit is the Spirit of Jesus Christ with a bountiful supply.

Such a rich Spirit is in our spirit to be our bountiful supply. The Spirit of Jesus Christ is the Christ who is the life-dispensing Spirit (1 Cor. 15:45; 2 Cor. 3:6).

The Bible shows us a progressive revelation of God, Christ, and the Spirit, and it shows us how God went through a process to become a man, live a perfect human life with many sufferings, was crucified and died on the cross, was buried and remained in the tomb for three days, resurrected and became a life-giving Spirit, and was ascended to be enthroned far above all.

Now all that God is, has, has passed through, has accomplished, has attained, and has obtained, everything is in the Spirit of Jesus Christ, and this Spirit is our bountiful supply.

This bountiful supply includes divinity, humanity, crucifixion, resurrection, ascension, the divine attributes, and the human virtues.

In this bountiful supply, we have submission; we can submit to one another in the family life and in the married life only by enjoying this bountiful supply.

To live in the Divine Trinity is to live Christ for His magnification (Phil. 1:20-21a). No one in himself can live Christ for His magnification. We live Christ for His magnification only through the bountiful supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ (v. 19). When we live by the Spirit and walk by the Spirit, spontaneously we live Christ to magnify Him. The factor, the element, and the sphere of our living should be the life-giving Spirit, the Spirit of Jesus Christ as the bountiful supply. The term the Spirit of Jesus Christ means that the Spirit is Jesus Christ. He is the rich Spirit as our life supply, and He is in our spirit. This is why we need to stress the matter of our spirit. We cannot overstress this matter. We have to stress this matter again and again. We need to turn to our spirit, exercise our spirit, and stir up our spirit because in our spirit is the very resurrection, who is the living One, the pneumatic Christ, the life-giving Spirit. Living In and With the Divine Trinity, Chapter 9, by Witness LeeWhen we turn to our spirit and enjoy this bountiful supply, we get everything that we need. We don’t know what we need in a particular situation, but as long as we turn to the Lord and call on His name, the bountiful supply is ours.

The Spirit of Jesus Christ is with and in our spirit, and when we contact the Lord, we have His divinity, His perfect humanity, the effectiveness of His death, and the power of His resurrection.

Everything we do and all our living should come about by the bountiful supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ.

Each one of us has a particular set of circumstances and people around us that were assigned and allotted by the sovereign God, and in all our situations we need the bountiful supply of the Spirit so that we may live Christ for His magnification.

Humanly speaking, we go through many things, and as we develop and learn things, it may seem that we can face the situation in ourselves.

However, without the bountiful supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, we cannot live Christ for His magnification.

May we remain under the divine dispensing of the Divine Trinity so that we may spontaneously receive the supply of Christ within and live a life that expresses Christ.

If we just keep ourselves open to the Lord and His dispensing, we will be bountifully supplied to live Christ and magnify Christ, no matter the situations and circumstances.

He is in our spirit, and when we contact Him, He lives in us and we live Christ for His magnification by the bountiful supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ.

Lord Jesus, keep us open to Your divine dispensing so that we may be bountifully supplied by the Spirit of Jesus Christ to live Christ for His magnification in our daily life. Amen, Lord, we turn to You right now; we exercise our spirit to contact You, and we open our whole being to You. Hallelujah, the Lord as the Spirit who dispenses life is in our spirit, and we can call on His name to receive and enjoy His bountiful supply! Amen, Lord, may our Christian life and church life with all our living and service come about by our being inwardly supplied by the bountiful supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ so that we may live Christ for His magnification!

Paul’s Pattern of Living Christ for His Magnification even in his Sufferings and Imprisonment

According to my earnest expectation and hope that in nothing I will be put to shame, but with all boldness, as always, even now Christ will be magnified in my body, whether through life or through death. For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. Phil. 1:20-21When Paul was in prison, he didn’t live in himself, for himself, or by himself; he was inwardly supplied by the bountiful supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, and he lived Christ to magnify Him in whatever situation he was in.

He is a pattern to us in the matter of living Christ.

Though he was in a Roman prison, Paul enjoyed the bountiful supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, and even in his bodily sufferings, Christ was magnified.

To magnify is to enlarge, to make great, to exalt, to cause something to become big and prominent. It is to make something large to our sight.

Yes, Christ is great: His dimensions are the dimensions of the universe, for He is universally great, and for us to apprehend His dimensions we need the entire Body.

However, in the eyes of those around us, Christ is almost non-existent; it seems that they don’t even know who Christ is.

In Paul’s situation, the guards around him and those in Caesar’s household did not know Christ; rather, they may have heard that He was from the Jewish land, whom they conquered, so they despised Him.

But Paul made Christ great by living Christ; even his sufferings afforded him the opportunity to express Christ in His unlimited greatness.

It wasn’t the law or circumcision that was magnified in Paul – it was Christ and Christ alone, to the extent that even some of the household of Caesar believed into the Lord (see Phil. 4:22).

We may not be in a prison but rather, we are at large, having all the things that we need; how about our daily living – do we magnify Christ in our daily living?

Although Christ is vast, extensive and immeasurable, in the eyes of those around us, He is virtually nonexistent.

So the Lord put us where we are for the very reason that we would live Christ for His magnification by the bountiful supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ.

All of Paul’s life and work were not for expressing himself or for displaying his knowledge, ability, or his other merits or strong points.

Rather, what he was and what he did were for expressing Christ, even for magnifying Christ (Phil. 3:3-10; 2 Cor. 4:5).

His deep desire was that in nothing he would be put to shame but rather, that in all things Christ would be magnified in his body, whether through life or through death.

When he was imprisoned and in stocks in the inner prison, he did not cry to pity himself but rather, both he and Silas drew water with rejoicing from the springs of God’s salvation, and they sang and praised the Lord in the prison in Philippi.

The result was that the jailer and his whole family were saved, and that was the start of the church life in that city.

So then, my beloved, even as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only but now much rather in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who operates in you both the willing and the working for [His] good pleasure. Do all things without murmurings and reasonings. Phil. 2:12-14 And be found in Him, not having my own righteousness which is out of the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is out of God [and] based on faith, To know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death. Phil. 3:9-10When Paul met Onesimus, a cell-mate of his, he brought him to the Lord, and he wanted to send him back to his master Philemon as a brother in the Lord.

We may think that this bountiful supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ is particularly for Paul, a great supply for a great person in a particular situation.

But many of us go through particular situations, such as losing our job, losing loved ones, losing our health, and going through troubles and turmoils in the church life.

In all these things we have the bountiful supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ so that we may live Christ for His magnification in all things.

May we not be put to shame in anything but rather, in all things may we magnify Christ so that others may see Him being enlarged through us.

Some saints may consider their marriage as a prison, their spouse as a jailer, and their children as guards; even there, in prison, we can rejoice, for there’s the bountiful supply.

The wife may be upset for a little thing that happens and there are many little things that don’t work right, are broken, don’t start, and don’t exactly function as we think they should; in all these things, we should not simply react but turn to the Lord, enjoy His bountiful supply, and live Christ.

In the ordinary, mundane things of our daily life, we need to learn to do all things without any murmurings and reasonings, turning to the Lord as our inner supply and living Christ to magnify Him in all things. We may even tell the Lord,

Dear Lord Jesus, keep us turning to You in all things so that we may enjoy the bountiful supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ. Amen, Lord, we want to work out our own salvation and do all things without murmurings and reasonings in our Christian life. Save us from merely reacting to the things that happen and the words that are spoken; keep us turning to You inwardly to enjoy Your bountiful supply. Amen, Lord, be magnified through us. We want to enjoy You, experience You, and be filled with You, so that You may be magnified through us wherever we are and whatever we do. May others see Christ in the way of enlargement, of magnification, in us and through us!
