we are being produced as babes and sucklings who offer God the perfected praise to defeat His enemy!

September 2, 2011 by aGodMan 1 Comment

we are being produced as babes and sucklings who offer God the perfected praise to defeat His enemy! [picture source: google search for, BABY]In Psalms 8 we see that God establishes strength – perfects praise from the mouths of the babes and sucklings. It’s not the “strong young men” or the “mighty warriors” that fight for God and defeat the enemy – at least in this psalm. It is like Paul said in 1 Cor. 1:28-30,

… The lowborn things of the world and the despised things God has chosen, things which are not, that He might bring to nought the things which are, so that no flesh may boast before God. But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became wisdom to us from God: both righteousness and sanctification and redemption.

It’s not out of us, it is not of our strength, and it’s not because “we love the Lord so much” or “we are the most consecrated ones”. Yes, we do need to love the Lord, we do need to consecrate ourselves to Him, but we also need to realize that “it is of Him that we are in Christ Jesus” – it is of God that we are in Christ who made Himself one with us and who became everything to us! In God’s love for man, He visited man in His incarnation, human living, death, resurrection, and ascension, and now He is the life-giving Spirit, the One who can produce the babes and sucklings!

How are the babes and sucklings being produced?

It seems like it is important for God to have these babes and sucklings since it is out of their mouth that the praise to God comes, and the enemy, the avenger, and the adversary are stopped. The first step in being produced as a babe and suckling is regeneration! When we are regenerated, all our natural activity is stopped and we are turned to the Lord to see Him, love Him, and appreciate Him.

Then the babes and sucklings continue to be produced in full through their sanctification, renewing, and transformation! It is through this process of transformation that the praise to the Lord is being perfected – and God has a way to overcome His enemy! This group of babes and sucklings are actually the members of the Body of Christ who allow Him to perfect them and transform them so that they would utter a perfected praise.

How do we have a perfected praise to the Lord?

How do we praise the Lord? What is the perfected praising of the Lord? We may praise the Lord – when we remember to or when we’re encouraged to, when we’re happy or when good things happen – but our praise to Him needs to be perfected. Praise the Lord! – praise Him for what? If we read Psalms 8 we see that we need to praise Him at least for the following aspects of His being and work:

  • Praise the Lord for His splendor above the heavens! His glory is above the heavens!
  • Praise the Lord for His excellency on earth! His name is excellent in all the earth!
  • Praise the Lord for His incarnation! He came to visit us in His incarnation.
  • Praise the Lord for His human living! He had a perfect and divinely-human living on the earth.
  • Praise the Lord for His death! Wow, what an all-inclusive death, so all-terminating and life-germinating! His death redeemed us!
  • Praise the Lord for His resurrection! We were regenerated in His resurrection, Christ became the life-giving Spirit in His resurrection, and Christ became the Firstborn Son of God with us as the many brothers!
  • Praise the Lord for His ascension! He ascended above the earth, above the heavens, above all things! He occupies the highest place in the universe!
  • Praise the Lord for His kingdom! We belong to His kingdom, and His kingdom is in us growing and developing! His kingdom is coming and will fill the whole earth!

Whenever we lift up our eyes from the messy earth and look up to the heavens, we see Jesus Christ – this Wonderful One! When we see Him and stop ourselves, stop our doing and our natural activity, we will “praise Him as we ought”. We need to be perfected in our praise – so that God would gain His enemy-stopping, adversary-stilling and avenger-defeating praise!

Just stop your human doings and simply be the one who praises the Lord for all that He is, all He has done, all He has attained and obtained! As babes and sucklings, we praise the Lord for such a Christ! [sharing inspired from the life-study of the Psalms, as quoted in the Morning Revival on the Crystallization Study of the Psalms]

Lord, we praise You for Your incarnation! Praise You for coming to visit man, even us the mortal man! Praise You for Your wonderful human living, a life in full oneness with the Father. Praise You Lord for Your death on the cross – You redeemed us on the cross! Lord, praise You for Your resurrection from the dead. Praise the Lord for His ascension above everything and everyone! Now there is a Man in the glory! Perfect our praise, Lord, that we may praise You as we ought to! Defeat and still Your enemy through our perfected praises!
