A Vision of the New Jerusalem: the Consummation of God becoming Man to make man God

And he carried me away in spirit onto a great and high mountain and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God. Rev. 21:10

As believers in Christ, we need to have a vision of the New Jerusalem for our Christian life and church life; we need to realization that the New Jerusalem is the consummation of the central vision of God’s economy and the high peak of the divine revelation. Amen!

This week we come to the last topic in this series in our morning revival, and the title is, Becoming the New Jerusalem.

Hallelujah, we are becoming the New Jerusalem!

The New Jerusalem is not a place in the heavens but rather, a corporate person, a corporate God-man, the consummation of God’s work throughout the ages in and with and through man.

And this corporate person is the bride of Christ who will become the wife of the Lamb.

One of the most uplifting verses in the Bible is Rev. 19:7 which proclaims, Let us rejoice and exult and give glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His wife has made herself ready! Amen!

The day is coming, and we want to hasten this wonderful day when there is a loud cry and proclamation that the bride has made herself ready and the wedding feast is ready to begin!

The bride spoken of is the overcomers, those who have cooperated with the Lord by having an ear to hear what the Spirit is speaking to the churches to be the overcoming ones in their lifetime.

We in the church life today are in the process of becoming the New Jerusalem.

There is an inward process going on in our being, and the consummation or final issue of this process is that we are becoming the New Jerusalem!

We are in the process of the development of the New Jerusalem.

May we be enlightened by the Lord to see a vision of the New Jerusalem for our Christian life and church life, and may we remain in the process of being consummated to be the New Jerusalem!

And may we be those who cooperate with the Lord in this age so that we may ripen earlier, that is, mature earlier and be the Lord’s overcomers in this age so that we may enter into the wedding feast to enjoy the New Jerusalem even in the next age, the age of the kingdom.

The New Jerusalem is a corporate person, the bride of the Lamb; it is the holy city coming out of God in the heavens, and we’re in the process of becoming the New Jerusalem today.

One of the wonderful characteristics of the bride of the Lamb is that she is mature, and fully developed; she has entered into the realm of maturity already, and now she’s mature to the full extent.

The New Jerusalem is a corporate building. her garment is composed of the righteousnesses of the saints; this is the God-man living of the overcoming saints by the bountiful supply of the Spirit.

Everything expressed in their living in many actions are the many righteousnesses, which make up her wedding garment.

The bride of Christ is beautiful, for she is beautified by the beauty of Christ reproduced in her. Also, the bride of Christ is an experienced warrior in the spiritual warfare.

Praise the Lord for the New Jerusalem, the bride of the Lamb!

For our Christian life and Church Life, we need to have a Vision of the New Jerusalem

And one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues came and spoke with me, saying, Come here; I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb. And he carried me away in spirit onto a great and high mountain and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, Having the glory of God. Her light was like a most precious stone, like a jasper stone, as clear as crystal. Rev. 21:9-11For our Christian life and church life we need to have a vision of the New Jerusalem; we need to see a clear vision of the New Jerusalem and be governed by this vision (Rev. 21:9-11).

Before we can have the experiences we need to become the New Jerusalem in our experience, we first need to see a vision of the New Jerusalem.

Everything starts with a vision. A vision is an extraordinary scene being revealed to us and seen by us; it involves revelation, light, and sight in the spiritual realm.

First, there needs to be a veil that is lifted, the light needs to shine, and we need to have our spiritual eyes enlightened so that we may see a vision.

We need to see a vision of the New Jerusalem so that we may live according to this vision in our Christian life and church life.

We may fall in our Christian life, and we may have many failures, but we will run the race with endurance because we are governed by the vision of the New Jerusalem.

The enemy may knock us down seven times, but we still rise up and go on with the Lord, for there’s a vision impelling us and constraining us, even drawing us and incentivising us, to go on with Him until we become the New Jerusalem.

May we see what John saw regarding the New Jerusalem.

May we be taken up on a high mountain, on a great and high mountain in spirit, so that we may see the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, having the glory of God.

The Lord is calling us today, each and every one of us, even as He called the apostle John on that day, that we may go where He is so that He may show us the bride, the wife of the Lamb.

May we let Him carry us onto a great and high mountain and give us a vision of the New Jerusalem.

One of the most amazing things about the New Jerusalem is that the holy city is a composition of divinity and humanity mingled, blended, and built up together as one entity (John 14:20, 23; Rev. 21:2-3, 9-23).

The New Jerusalem is composed of God and man, but all the components of the holy city have the same life, nature, and constitution, and are thus a corporate person.

The Lord went through a process to become the Spirit, the consummated Spirit as the universal husband.

We are going through a process also to become the bride, the consummated church as the bride of the Lamb.

In that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you...Jesus answered and said to him, If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word, and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make an abode with him. John 14:20, 23 And I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice out of the throne, saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will tabernacle with them, and they will be His peoples, and God Himself will be with them [and be] their God. Rev. 21:2-3And we are becoming the same as Christ in life, nature, and constitution to match Him for our marriage life.

God has been working throughout the generations and in all the dispensations to do a building work in the way of regeneration and resurrection.

He first worked among man to lead man and cause man to love Him and follow Him, even cooperate with Him for His purpose; however, in the Old Testament, He could not get inside man.

But in the New Testament, He has been working within man, for He became a life-giving Spirit to enter man, regenerate man, transform man, and glorify man so that man would become the same as God in life, nature, expression, and function, but not in the Godhead.

The ultimate result and consummation of the building work God has been doing throughout the ages is the New Jerusalem in the new heaven and new earth.

This New Jerusalem is obtained and produced not by God’s creating things or calling things not being as being, but by His building of Himself into us to regenerate us and transform us.

We need to see a vision of the New Jerusalem and realize that this is a building by God’s life in the way to regenerate the things which exist (us) with the resurrection life so that we may be one with God in his divine life and nature for His expression! Amen!

Lord Jesus, grant us to see a vision of the New Jerusalem! Carry us away in spirit onto a great and high mountain and show us the holy city, New Jerusalem! Amen, Lord, we open to You and we exercise our spirit to see a clear vision of the New Jerusalem for our Christian life and church life today. May we realize that the New Jerusalem is a composition of divinity and humanity mingled, blended, and built up together as one entity! Work Yourself into us a little more today for the New Jerusalem. Mingle Yourself with us more today. Blend us more with God and with one another to make us the same as You are. Amen, Lord, keep us in the process of being regenerated and resurrected with Your divine life so that we may become the consummated New Jerusalem, God’s manifestation in His new creation for eternity!

The New Jerusalem is the Consummation of God becoming Man to make man God, Divinity and Humanity Mingled, Blended, and Built Up

One Body and one Spirit, even as also you were called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism; One God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. Eph. 4:4-6 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit. 1 Cor. 6:17The New Jerusalem is the consummation of the central vision of God’s economy and the high peak of the divine revelation (Rev. 21:2, 9-11).

The New Testament reveals that the Triune God has an eternal economy according to His good pleasure to dispense Himself in His life and nature into us, His chosen and redeemed people, to make us His duplication to express Him (Eph. 3:9; 1:9-23).

The consummation of this corporate expression of God in man is the New Jerusalem.

The New Jerusalem, the ultimate consummation of the Bible, involves God becoming man and man becoming God in life and in nature but not in the Godhead.

This is the high peak of the divine revelation in the word of God.

In the Gospels, we see how in Christ God became man so that He may make man God in His life and in His nature so that God and man would become one entity, the New Jerusalem. Amazing!

God has become man to make man God in life and nature so that the redeeming God and the redeemed man can be mingled, constituted together to be one entity – the New Jerusalem.

What we see in the New Jerusalem is that the eternal, Triune God becomes the New Jerusalem incorporated with all of us, and we also become the New Jerusalem through the process of God’s organic salvation (Rom. 5:10). This is truly amazing!

The Bible doesn’t just teach us to be like Jesus and be kind, gentle, submissive, and righteous.

The issue of the teaching of the Bible is the New Jerusalem as the aggregate of all the God-men (Rev. 21:7; Heb. 2:10-11; 12:22).

In His economy, God wants to make us, His believers, God-men to constitute the Body of Christ so that the New Jerusalem would be consummated as the eternal enlargement and expression of the processed and consummated Triune God (Gal. 3:26; 5:7, 26, 31).

We believers in Christ are in the process of God’s organic salvation until we are fully transformed, glorified, and mingled with the processed and consummated Triune God to become the New Jerusalem (John 17:22-23; Eph. 4:4-6).

May we see a vision of the New Jerusalem and may this vision govern our daily living.

The New Jerusalem is not just God and it is also not just man; it is a composition of divinity and humanity mingled, blended, and built up together as one entity (John 14:20, 23; Rev. 21:2-3, 9-23).

The components of the city of New Jerusalem are God and man, but each one of these went through a process and has arrived at a consummation.

The components of the New Jerusalem have the same life, nature, and constitution, and together they are a corporate person. Wow!

Out of His old creation through all the dispensations, God has been doing His building work in the way of regeneration and resurrection. The ultimate result and the ultimate consummation of this building work will be the New Jerusalem in the new heaven and new earth as God’s manifestation in His new creation for eternity. It is not a creation by God’s divine power in the way to call things not being as being; but it is a building by God’s divine life in the way to regenerate the things which exist with the resurrection life that they may be one with God in His divine life and nature for His expression. The Conclusion of the New Testament, pp. 132-134, by Witness LeeThe New Jerusalem is God in man, man in God, the building of God in man and of man in God, and the mingling of God with man and man with God (John 14:20, 23; 15:4; 1 Cor. 6:17).

The Lord Jesus has spoken many times concerning this union, mingling, and incorporation of God and man, and we believers in Christ are in the process of becoming this consummation – the New Jerusalem.

God desires to obtain a corporate manifestation in humanity, and He gains this with the church as the Body of Christ consummating in the New Jerusalem! Hallelujah!

The church is the increase, the enlargement of the manifestation of God in the flesh (1 Tim. 3:15), God manifested in the flesh in an enlarged way.

The church is the manifestation of God in the flesh according to the principle of incarnation: God became man to make man God in life and in nature but not in the Godhead for God to gain the New Jerusalem. Amen!

In eternity past, God purposed to have a corporate expression so that He may be fully expressed and glorified, and for this, He created the heavens, the earth, and mankind.

Now we are in the process of being regenerated, transformed, and glorified, and we will become the New Jerusalem – the mutual dwelling place of God and man, the consummated corporate expression of God in the new creation for eternity! Hallelujah!

May we remain in the process of God’s organic salvation day by day until we are consummated to be the New Jerusalem, God incorporated with man, for God’s ultimate corporate manifestation in the universe!

Lord Jesus, keep us in the process of God’s organic salvation day by day until we become the New Jerusalem! Hallelujah, God became man to make man God and obtain a corporate manifestation in humanity consummating in the New Jerusalem! Amen, Lord, make us the same as You are in life, nature, and constitution! Mingle Yourself with us. Grow in us and build us up together. Make us Your corporate expression in the universe. Hallelujah, God’s New Testament economy is to make us, the believers in Christ, God-men for the constitution of the Body of Christ to consummate the New Jerusalem! Praise the Lord, God is gaining an eternal enlargement and expression of Himself in humanity – the New Jerusalem – in the new heaven and new earth! Amen, Lord, we open to You and we allow You to work Yourself into us and mingle Yourself with us until we’re fully united, mingled, and incorporated with You to be the New Jerusalem!

The final stage of God’s manifestation will be in the New Jerusalem as the consummated corporate expression in the new creation. Revelation 21:1-3 says, “I saw a new heaven and a new earth…And I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice out of the throne, saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will tabernacle with them.” In eternity past God purposed to have a corporate expression so that He might be fully expressed and glorified (Eph. 3:9-11; 1:9-11). For this, He created the heavens, the earth, and mankind.

For our Christian life and church life, we need to see a vision of the New Jerusalem.

God became man to make man God in life and nature to produce the church consummating in the New Jerusalem as the ultimate mingling of God with man.

Today we are in the process of becoming the New Jerusalem through God’s organic salvation.

Lord Jesus, carry us away on a great and high mountain and show us a vision of the New Jerusalem. Keep us in the process of God’s organic salvation to become the New Jerusalem!

The Triune God, the redeeming God, in His eternal economy is dispensing Himself, His life and nature into redeemed man through the process of organic salvation, to make man His duplication to express Him as one mingled, corporate person.

Such a process is ultimately consummated in the holy city, the New Jerusalem – the bride, the wife of the Lamb, being one universal one couple one entity!

Hallelujah we are becoming the New Jerusalem! Amen!

We need such a vision of the New Jerusalem!

The real birth to celebrate this day is the regeneration of things which exist with the resurrection life so that we may be one with God in His divine life & nature for His expression.

Way back in eternity past, our God purposed to have a corporate expression so that He might be fully expressed & glorified.

The church is the increase & enlargement of the manifestation of God in the flesh.

May we be constrained & ruled by the vision of the New Jerusalem as the enlargement & expression of the Triune God in our daily living.

Lord, grant us a day-to-day experience & enjoyment of being mingled, blended & built up together as one entity for Your expression…Amen.

Keep us obedient to the heavenly vision which You have entrusted to us, dear Lord.

…The New Jerusalem is a living composition of all the saints redeemed by God throughout all generations. It is the bride of Christ as His counterpart (John 3:29) and the holy city of God as His habitation, His tabernacle (v. 3). This is the heavenly Jerusalem (Heb. 12:22), which God has prepared for us and which Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob long after (Heb. 11:10, 16). This is also the Jerusalem which is above and which is our mother (Gal. 4:26). As the bride of Christ, the New Jerusalem comes out of Christ, her Husband, and becomes His counterpart, just as Eve came out of Adam, her husband, and became his counterpart (Gen. 2:21-24). She is prepared by participating in the riches of the life and nature of Christ. As the holy city of God, she is wholly sanctified unto God and fully saturated with God’s holy nature to be His habitation.

In both the Old Testament and the New Testament, God likens His chosen people to a spouse (Isa. 54:6; Jer. 3:1; Ezek. 16:8; Hosea 2:19; 2 Cor. 11:2; Eph. 5:31-32) and a dwelling place for Himself (Exo. 29:45-46; Num. 5:3; Ezek. 43:7, 9; Psa. 68:18; 1 Cor. 3:16-17; 6:19; 2 Cor. 6:16; 1 Tim. 3:15). The spouse is for His satisfaction in love, and the dwelling place is for His rest in expression. Both of these aspects will be ultimately consummated in the New Jerusalem. In her, God will have the fullest satisfaction in love and the utmost rest in expression for eternity.

Over twenty two years ago the Lord took me in a dream to view the New Jerusalem. It was an act of mercy to encourage me during a very difficult time of loss. After all these years the picture is as vivid as if I just saw it.
I was not aware of what it was at the time, as I was a fairly new believer, but I knew God lived there. Later on I came to realize it was the New Jerusalem. This is what I saw:

It is a city entirely of gold. There is a skyline, but it
is not stagnate as we would expect of buildings…it moves and shifts and is alive, organic. The gold of the city is rich and glows but its light is warm and welcoming, not blinding. There are no straight lines or rectangles or pointed spires as in man-made cities. The skyline more resembles a shifting golden mountain range in miniature but looks a little more intentional than that. It is balanced and graceful, purposed, yet delicate as a lace doily.

There is no sun. It is its own light which illuminates the sky over it, revealing amazing colors, a glorious patchwork with hues not seen here on earth. It was breathtakingly beautiful.

When I awoke I was cured of my deep despair and grief. I know now where my Hope lies, where all our Hope lies. This is the bride and this is her home, God’s home and thus ours too. It is our glorious destiny.

Hallelujah saints. May we all share in and be encouraged by the divine reality realized through this vision in a dream supplied by our gracious God who took pity on me, just an ordinary believer.
