The Lord has a supreme and highest requirement of us all – to be built up with one another in the Triune God. Yes, you may love the saints, you may be spiritual, you may be faithful to the God-ordained practices – things which are good and we must all do – but if you’re not built up, you are short of God’s highest requirement!
The highest virtue of one who pursues the Lord is being built up with the saints into the Body of Christ, into the Triune God! God does not measure and evaluate us merely / mainly according to moral regulations or spiritual principles but according to His house, His building!
In Ezek. 43 we see that the prophet was told to show the pattern of the house to the people, to describe the house to them! It is not just the morality, the spirituality, or even the genuine practices of life(like calling on the name of the Lord, praying over His Word, or having morning revival every day) – we need to be measured by God’s building.
Do you match God’s building? Do you fit into God’s building? Does your spirituality match God’s building? Are you within your measure – in your function, your speaking, your doing – in God’s building? Are you solidly built in?
These questions and these matters need to become our reality – God measures us by oneness, by our functioning in our measure, by our being built up!
One of the saddest things for a Christian is to arrive to a certain age in his human life and yet not be buildable – he cannot be built, is not built, and is not able to be built up with others.
Yes, he may be a good brother / sister, so faithful to the Lord in the church life, but not buildable. This is why we need to be desperate before the Lord today that we may be the materials for the building, those who go through transformation so that we may be build-able!
Especially in the “young adult age”, we need to realize that the essence of our spiritual experiences is NOT JUST to become useful in the Lord’s hands, to learn to take responsibility and care for others, etc – but to become buildable!
This process includes the breaking, the discipline of the Spirit, the genuine transformation, and the entering into the building! If you’re in the building, you don’t need to “remember what is the building”, how to live out the building, etc – you are built together and you live the rest of your life in the reality of God’s building!
Here you pray, study the Bible, pursue the ministry, serve, preach the gospel – in the building and for the building! Otherwise, you may be in the ministry, enjoy the Lord, take care of other saints, know the Word of God – yet you may be in your late 50s and still not be buildable!
How much we need to be actively loving the Lord and begging Him to make us buildable, those who are built up into the Body with the saints!
We need the Lord to infuse into us a desire for His building! This is something we can pray for and ask the Lord to do it in us, but we cannot do it by and of ourselves.
We need Him to duplicate in us the desire which is in His heart for His building, until it becomes part of our being! Our prayer is just like the prayer of the Israelites regarding the re-building of the temple,
… may it be Your will to instill in our hearts a deep desire to do Your will, to preserve and fullfill the commandment to build the holy temple, such as the sanctuary that Moses established at the foot of Mt. Sinai, like Solomon built on Mt. Moriah, and as the children of Israel rebuilt… as in the days of old and in the former years!
May our prayer for the building up of the Body of Christ and for us all to be buildable surpass that of those praying for the rebuilding of the physical temple. We need to desperately come to the Lord about this and ask Him to make us such people! [sharing inspired from message 11 from the Crystallization-Study of Isaiah(2). Lord, build Yourself into us! Build us more into the Triune God! Make us those who are buildable – who are built into the Body! Save us from remaining whole, being in ourselves, and not being built up! Lord, we are desperate for this – make us buildable Christians! We want to learn this one lesson – to be built up! Gain us not only as individual spiritual and seeking Christians, but as members of the Body built up with the other saints we have been placed with! Lord, build us up in the Body and as the Body of Christ!
