the dispensing of the Triune God into the members of the Body of Christ as revealed in Ephesians

What an epistle the book of Ephesians is! Part of the heart of the Bible and speaking from the standpoint of God’s purpose and His economy, the book of Ephesians speaks of God’s economy being accomplished through the exercise of our spirit – for the producing and building up of the church as the Body of Christ!

Everywhere, in every chapter, we see the dispensing of the Triune God into the members of the Body of Christ for the building up of God’s corporate expression! It’s almost as if the Triune God is intrinsically interwoven into the Body of Christ – God and man are fully mingled, God is one with man and man is one with God! And this working of the Triune God into man can be seen in every book of the Bible!

This morning we enjoyed a footnote from 2 Cor. 13:14 concerning the dispensing of the Triune God into the members of the Body of Christ – as revealed in Ephesians, chapter by chapter… below is just a try to share some highlights from note 1 paragraph 6 of 2 Cor. 13:14, which starts with,

“The entire divine revelation in the book of Ephesians concerning the producing, existing, growing, building up, and fighting of the church as the Body of Christ is composed of the divine economy, the dispensing of the Triune God into the members of the Body of Christ.”

1. In Ephesians chapter one we see that God the Father chose and predestinated us as the members of the Body of Christ in eternity (Eph. 1:4-5), God the Son redeemed us (Eph. 1:6-12), and God the Spirit, as a pledge, sealed us (Eph. 1:13-14)! In this way, the Triune God imparts Himself into His believers for the formation of the church, which is the Body of Christ, the fullness of the One who fills all in all (Eph. 1:18-23)! What a high view!
2. In Ephesians chapter two we see that in the Divine Trinity all the believers – both Jewish and Gentile – have access unto God the Father through God the Son in God the Spirit (Eph. 2:18)! Here we see that the Three of the Divine Trinity coexist and coinhere – even after the process God went through.
3. In Ephesians chapter three the apostle Paul prayed that God the Father would grant the believers to be strengthened through God the Spirit into their inner man, that Christ, God the Son, may make His home in their hearts(that is, occupy their entire being) that they may be filled unto all the fullness of God (Eph. 3:14-19). This is the climax of the believers’ experience of God and participation in God in His trinity! Fully mingled with the Triune God and participating in the Father, the Son and the Spirit – as the Body of Christ!
4. In Ephesians chapter four we see how the processed God as the Spirit, the Lord, and the Father is mingled with the Body of Christ (Eph. 4:4-6) so that we all as the members of the Body may experience and enjoy the Divine Trinity. One Body and one Spirit… – this list of “ONE”s shows us that the Triune God is mingled with man to produce the Body of Christ, the Four-in-One entity to express the Triune God for eternity!
5. In Ephesians chapter five we the believers praise the Lord (God the Son) with the songs of God the Spirit, and we give thanks in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ(God the Son) to God the Father (Eph. 5:19-20). Praise the Lord! We are praising and thanking the processed Triune God in His divine Trinity for our enjoyment of Him as the Triune God! Hallelujah, praise the Lord! Amen for the songs of the Spirit! Thank You, Father!
6. In Ephesians chapter six we the believers are fighting the spiritual warfare by being empowered in the Lord(God the Son), putting the whole armor of God the Father, and wielding the sword of God the Spirit(Eph. 6:10, 11, 17)! Even in spiritual warfare we can experience and enjoy the Triune God as our everything mingled with us and becoming our protecting armor and fighting weapons!

All I can say is… WOW! You have to read this note concerning the Triune God being for our enjoyment and experience in 2 Cor. 13:14! Especially in Ephesians, we see such a high view of our Christian life – where the Triune God is dispensing Himself into the members of the Body of Christ to produce the church as the Body of Christ!

Praise You Lord for Your divine dispensing! Praise You Triune God for continually dispensing Yourself into man so that You may produce the church as the Body of Christ! We are now members of the Body receiving Your continual dispensing – until we are fully mingled and saturated with the Triune God! Praise the Father who has purposed! Praise the Son who all has done! Praise the Spirit who transmits all the Son has done and the Father has purposed! Praise the Three who work as One and are One!
