The Crucial Elements of the Bible – Christ, the Spirit, Life, and the Church!

The Crucial Elements of the Bible - Christ, the Spirit, Life, and the Church! [picture source: AllJohnson blog]What are the most crucial elements of the Bible? The Bible must have some crucial elements – some important elements without which the Bible can be “an empty shell”. Just like a nut has a shell, the meat, and the kernel, so the Bible has a kernel which needs to be discovered and known in order to properly understand what the Bible is about.

This wonderful book, the Bible, is the word of God written by men under God’s inspiration. Somehow men wrote things of God – which are divine, mysterious, and spiritual – in words that can be understood by men. But we need to see what is the kernel of the Bible, what are the crucial elements of the Bible.

If we don’t see these four crucial matters – Christ, the Spirit, life, and the church – we may teach the Bible and teach doctrines from the Bible with the result of more confusion and division!

This week we are starting a new Holy Word for Morning Revival, entitled, The Crucial Elements of the Bible. Brother Lee gave some messages comprised in a book entitled, The Four Crucial Elements of the Bible – Christ, the Spirit, Life, and the Church. We need to see a vision of these crucial matters in the Bible – and be governed in everything by these crucial matters.

We must all have a deep impression, a fresh light, and a renewed understanding concerning these four crucial elements – Christ, the Spirit, life, and the church.

Who and what is Christ?

Christ is our Savior and Redeemer, God who became a man and went through a process of human living, crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension to become the life-giving Spirit and come into us to be our life and everything! This One, the all-inclusive Christ, is mingling Himself with us continually by making His home in our hearts (Eph. 3:16) and by being formed in us.

What is the Spirit?

The Spirit is the consummation of the processed Triune God and has come into us to be our reality – this Spirit, as the Another Comforter, guides us into all the reality (John 15:26). When we have the Spirit, we have all that the Triune God has and is, all that Christ has accomplished and attained, and everything that is included in the divine life and the divine nature!

This One is in us as life and this is the REAL LIFE, the life which is really life! God wants to become our life in reality – and He does so in Christ and as the Spirit mingling Himself first with our spirit (making our spirit life, Rom. 8:10), then with our soul (making our soul life, Rom. 8:6) and eventually with our body( making our whole body life, Rom. 8:11).

The result is that we become the church – those ones from among men who have been redeemed, regenerated, and who are filled with the Triune God as our content! God in Christ as the Spirit is our life, and we are corporately the church, which is the Body of Christ, the fullness of the One who fills all in all (Eph. 1:22-23).

Wow – what a sight, a vista, a vision, of the most crucial elements of the Bible – Christ, the Spirit, life, and the church! [sharing inspired from the aforementioned book, as quoted in the HWMR on the Crucial Elements of the Bible]

Lord, open our eyes to see the crucial elements of the Bible! Save us from focusing on the minor things in the Bible while neglecting the crucial matters! Grant us a vision of the KERNEL of the Bible, the crucial elements, the main points that we need to get when reading the Bible! Unveil Christ, the Spirit, life, and the church to us! May we focus and emphasize nothing else. Rather, may these matters become our intrinsic constitution and main topic when we speak, prophesy, or teach the Word!
