The Blood of Christ Brings us to God to Enjoy Him, Eat Him, Drink Him, and Serve Him

Matt. 26:28 For this is My blood of the covenant, which is being poured out for many for forgiveness of sins.

Just as Moses took the blood from the sacrifices and sprinkled it to enact the old covenant of the law, so the Lord Jesus shed His blood to enact the new covenant in His blood. The Lord Jesus was God manifested in the flesh, and in Him there was no sin, corruption, or sign of the fall; He is the only One qualified to die for our sins, and God put all our sins on Him on the cross.

Through His death Christ satisfied all the righteous, holy, and glorious requirements of God, and through His blood He enacted the new covenant. Now all those who believe into Christ have a fresh application of the blood of Christ so that they may be saved and enter into the enjoyment of God. In this new covenant God gives us everything of Himself for our enjoyment; He gives us forgiveness of sins, the divine life, salvation, and all spiritual, heavenly, and divine blessings.

Christ drank the cup of God’s wrath on the cross, shed His blood to enact the new covenant, and today this cup is the cup of God’s blessing, a portion given for us to enjoy (Luke 22:20). The Lord’s blood shed His blood for our redemption, and His blood enacted the new covenant; now when we drink the cup at the Lord’s table we drink the cup of blessing, the portion given by God to us to enjoy.

Hallelujah, Christ paid the price of His blood for us, enacted the new covenant, and now we can drink the cup of blessing to enjoy all that God is and has done for us! When we drink the cup of blessing at the Lord’s table, we enjoy God’s forgiveness, God’s life, God’s salvation, and all spiritual, heavenly, and divine blessings!

Enjoying the Many Wonderful Things the Blood of Christ Brings us into Today

The blood of Christ, the blood of the covenant, is typified by the blood of the sacrifices in the Old Testament, and this blood brings us into the enjoyment and participation of many wonderful things God has prepared for us. The blood is the price that Christ paid for us, the covenant is the title deed that God made for us, and the cup is the portion that we receive from God.

The blood of Christ has redeemed us from our own vain manner of life; the precious blood of Christ redeemed us not only from Satan’s possession but also from our own vain manner of life (see 1 Peter. 1:18-19). Let us see a few of the many wonderful things the blood of the covenant did for us.

The Blood of Christ brings us back to Eat the Tree of Life and Drink the Water of Life

Rev. 22:14 Blessed are those who wash their robes that they may have right to the tree of life and may enter by the gates into the city. After man fell, the way to the tree of life was closed by God with a cherubim and a flaming sword which turned in every direction to guard the tree of life (Gen. 3:24). Man was not allowed to eat from the tree of life in his fallen state so that he would not live forever with his sinful nature. But when Christ came, His blood opened the way for us to have access to the tree of life.

Today we can wash our robes in the blood of Christ so that we may have the right to eat of the tree of life and may enter by the gates into the city! Through the blood of Christ we can enter into the enjoyment of the tree of life, which is God Himself as life to us.

Furthermore, the blood of Christ leads us to the waters of life; those who wash their robes in the blood of the Lamb are guided by the Lamb to springs of waters of life (Rev. 7:14-17). Christ came and made a call for all those who are thirsty to come to Him and drink, and out from their innermost being shall flow rivers of living water (John 7:37-39); the way we can come to the Lord to drink the Spirit flowing as living water is through the blood of Christ.

We have no other standing and we cannot do anything in ourselves to please God; all we have to do is come to God through the blood of Christ and eat the tree of life and drink the water of life for our life supply!

Lord Jesus, thank You for shedding Your precious blood to bring us back to the tree of life and the water of life. Lord, we wash our robes in the blood of the Lamb and we come to eat of God as the tree of life! Hallelujah! We come to You through Your precious blood to drink the water of life. Lord, flow Your life into us and flow out of us for others to also drink of God! Praise You for Your precious blood!

The Blood of Christ brings us into the Holy of Holies to Serve a Living God

Heb. 10:19-20 Having therefore, brothers, boldness for entering the Holy of Holies in the blood of Jesus, which entrance He initiated for us as a new and living way through the veil, that is, His flesh.Heb. 10:19-20 say, Having therefore, brothers, boldness for entering the Holy of Holies in the blood of Jesus, which entrance He initiated for us as a new and living way through the veil, that is, His flesh. The blood of Jesus opens the way for us to have the boldness to enter the Holy of Holies to be in God’s presence, enjoy God, and be infused with Him.

The Lord initiated a new and living way for us through His blood that we may enter into the Holy of Holies, into God Himself, so that we may be infused with God, behold His beauty, inquire of God, and become His expression on earth (See Psa. 24:4-6). The blood of Christ purifies our conscience from dead works to serve the living God (Heb. 9:14).

We cannot serve God as those dead in sins and offenses, so Christ came and died for us, offering Himself through the eternal Spirit without blemish for God to enliven us, purify our conscience from dead works, and cause us to serve the living God. Through the blood of Christ we come into God’s presence to enjoy God, be infused with God, and serve God!

The Blood of Christ brings us into the Temple of God to Enjoy and Serve Him for Eternity

Rev. 7:14-15 These are those who come out of the great tribulation, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Because of this they are before the throne of God and serve Him day and night in His temple; and He who sits upon the throne will tabernacle over them. After we have washed our robes in the blood of the Lamb by confessing our sins and applying the precious blood of Christ, we are brought into the temple of God to enjoy God and serve Him for eternity (Rev. 7:14-17).

The blood of Christ, the blood of the new covenant, has an eternal effectiveness: it was shed two thousand years or so ago to redeem us and enact the new covenant, it is applied all throughout time whenever someone believes into the Lord Jesus, and for eternity will give us the entrance into the temple of God, God’s very presence, where we will enjoy God for eternity.

Hallelujah, the eternal enjoyment of God in His temple is made possible because of the blood of Christ, the precious blood which gives us the right to enjoy God, take God as our life supply, and serve God for eternity. Ultimately, the blood of the new covenant, the eternal covenant (13:20), enables God’s people to serve Him (9:14) and leads God’s people into the full enjoyment of God as their portion (as the tree of life and the water of life) both now and for eternity (Rev. 7:14, 17; 22:1-2, 14, 17).

We today need to exercise the right to eat the tree of life, drink the water of life, and enter by the gates into the reality of the New Jerusalem, the mingling of God with man.

Lord, thank Your for Your precious redeeming blood which gives us the right to eat the tree of life and drink the water of life. Lord, we now come forward with boldness to the Holy of Holies through the new and living way opened through Your blood. Thank You for this eternally effective blood which brings us into the full enjoyment of the new covenant, the better covenant. Hallelujah, we can now enjoy God and serve God as His people in His temple, and we will do this for eternity because of the Lord’s precious blood!

    # O Jesus Lord, we come to Thee, / Thy presence to enjoy; / Our entrance now with boldness is, / As we Thy blood employ. / Not by our merit do we stand, / Nor in our righteousness, / Thy blood and righteousness we need; / Their worth we now confess. (Hymns #1126)
    # Thru Thy blood shed on the cross, / We are reconciled to God, / That the way to contact Him / May in peace by us be trod. / By partaking of Thy blood, / We have Thine eternal life; / In Thy blood and life received, / We have rest, free from all strife. (Hymns #224)

The blood of Christ also leads the believers to the waters of life. In John 7:37 the Lord Jesus said that all those who thirst may come to Him and drink. Eventually, out of our innermost being will flow rivers of living water. We all have experienced drinking the water of life through the blood of Christ. Day by day, because of His blood, we may eat of the tree of life and drink of the water of life. According to Revelation 7:14, those who have “washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb” will be guided by the Lamb to “springs of waters of life” (v. 17). This indicates that for eternity we shall enjoy the living water through the blood of Christ. (Witness Lee, Life-study of Exodus, msg. 79)
