My practice of the morning revival time with the Lord is something I’m still learning and even more struggling with.
First, I’ve set a specific time and I try stick to it. At this time, I seek a quiet and secluded place to be alone with the Lord, to look into His eyes, to listen to His voice, and to talk to Him.
My greatest struggle every morning is how to get out of my prison – out of the self, get into the Triune God, and be open up for His inflow. Seeing a vision that God’s economy to is work Himself into us His chosen people for His eternal expression helps me to recognize that my major problem is that I’m short of Christ. Therefore what I need is not so much to “finish the day’s portion” of the Morning Revival as to contact Him to receive Him as the flow of life into me.
I could start by calling “O Lord Jesus”, slowly and sometimes inaudibly. Gradually as my being opens up to His inflow and I gain strength, I may say aloud, “Lord Jesus, thank You for waking me up in sound health and in a peaceful environment” or “Thank You Lord You’re my real rest” or “Lord Jesus I Love You” or “Lord Jesus I open my entire being to You, gain me, O Lord” or “I want to gain and be gained by You Dear Lord” or “Lord You’re Supremely Precious and Of surpassing Worth” or “Lord You are so Dear and Precious to me” or “Lord I’m here for Your Cherishing and Nourishing”.
Sometimes I may sing a Hymn. Recently I enjoyed Hymns #255 which is about Breathing in the Lord and Breathing out myself, and Hymns #1214 which is a call to Dig Away my Self, so that His Life can flow into me.
I may pray-read the banner of the week or the title of the week or any of the Morning Nourishment verse or verses. This further opens me up and enlivens me. At this time, I’m like a fine-tuned radio that is set for receiving strong signals from the radio station. The only difference is that now the radio set is also transmitting signals to the radio station in a two-way communication.
I may read through the daily portion, if time permits. All this while, every matter, person or situation that drops into my thoughts, I bring before the Lord, and thereafter, throughout the day, I try to make small conversations with the Lord. Having daily fellowship on the HWMR portions with the saints physically, by telephone, via Whatsapp and Facebook messenger have also been of great help to me in preparing my prophecy.
The mornings may not provide time for an in-depth study of the day’s or week’s portion. In the past I’ve set aside some Saturdays for study and reciting of my portion, to equip me to prophesy on Lord’s Day.
Listening daily to the relevant Audio Life Study messages, enjoying the recommended “Further Readings” in the HWMR, and other on-line sources like “Living to Him” and “agodman.com” have also been of great help in preparing my prophecy.
As stated earlier I’m still learning to fully enter into the HWMR and there is a lot of room for improvement of my practice of PSRP – Pray-reading, Studying, Reciting and Prophesying – for the building up of the Body of Christ. I do not follow any particular hard and fast procedure to gain Christ.
