The Spirit of reality guides us into all the reality, and only that which is in the Spirit of reality is spiritual reality.
What is reality? Is our car a reality? Is our house something real? Things which we can see, touch, feel, taste, and apprehend with our physical senses seem real, but they are not reality.
Even we as human beings, we are here today and are gone tomorrow, and we may feel and know and do something today, but tomorrow its gone. We are not the reality, and human life is not something that lasts forever.
In the whole universe only One is real, and this is the Triune God, for only the Triune God is reality. God is real, He has and is reality, and He is embodied in Christ, who came full of grace and reality (John 1:14).
Wow, there was a person on this earth who declared that He is the truth, the reality! Reality is only in Him. And He Himself went through the process of death and resurrection to become the Spirit, who is the Spirit of reality.
In God’s New Testament economy the Spirit has the attribute of reality. The Spirit has many attributes such as life, power, holiness, wisdom, and love, but among these there’s a most wonderful one, reality.
Reality is actually the all-inclusive attribute of the Spirit of God, for it included God the Father, Christ the Son, and all the divine items and entities. The Spirit is the all-inclusive reality – the Spirit includes all that God the Father has and is, and all that God the Son has, is, and has attained and obtained.
This Spirit is now with our spirit, mingling Himself with us, and the Spirit of reality guides us into all the reality.
This means that the Spirit of reality guides us personally and intimately by being in us – He guides us not just to understand the spiritual things but to enter into all the reality of what God the Father and God the Son is.
Apart from the Spirit of reality, in our experience we cannot have the Triune God or any of the divine attributes, for the reality of the Triune God and of all His attributes is in the Spirit of reality.
Without enjoying and experiencing the Spirit of reality, all the things related to God, Christ, and the spiritual things are not real but doctrines, even theories.
But when we touch the Lord in our spirit, when we exercise our spirit to touch and experience the Spirit, the Spirit of reality guides us into all the reality of the Triune God.
The Spirit of Reality is the Executor and Reality of God and Christ and all the Spiritual Things
The Spirit of reality guides us into all the reality of the Triune God because the Spirit Himself is the reality of God, Christ, and all the spiritual and divine things. Only that which is in the Spirit of reality is spiritual reality (John 14:17; 15:26).
Every spiritual thing has a reality, and that reality is not merely the experience or substantiation of that thing but the Spirit Himself, the Spirit of reality. All spiritual things must be in the Spirit of reality before they can be real, living, and organic (see 1 John 5:6).
The Spirit of reality is the Executor of all the spiritual things; He receives all things from the Son (who is the embodiment of the Father) and He declares it to us, guiding us into all the reality.
Spiritual realities may be expressed in words, but words alone are not spiritual reality. Spiritual realities may be an experience in our daily life and may be expressed through us, but any formality or outward practice is not reality – only the Spirit is the reality.
We may experience a spiritual reality, but our human behavior or performance is not reality. Spiritual reality transcends people and things, and only that which is in the Holy Spirit is spiritual reality.
For example, things such as baptism, breaking the bread at the Lord’s Table, worshipping the Lord, giving praise and thanks to the Lord, applying the blood of Christ, being crucified with Christ, knowing Christ, forgiving others, being humble, and loving others are all spiritual realities, but they are a reality when they are in the Spirit of reality.
In the practice of the church life, the practical Body life, every item should be in spirit and by the Spirit, so that we may live in reality. Practicing the church life doesn’t mean that we live and act according to certain rules outwardly.
When we touch the reality of the Body, which is in the Spirit of reality, we will simply be unable to be independent, and whatever we do will be in the Body.
Practicing the Body life doesn’t mean that, before we do something, we invite all the saints and talk about it, so that all the saints would have a good feeling about what we want to do.
Rather, we may simply fellowship with some saints, irrespective of their number, and touch the reality of the Body, which is in the Spirit of reality, and we may go ahead and do something.
If we don’t touch the reality of the Body in the Spirit of reality, we may have a unanimous consent from the whole congregation but we may simply have the opinions of the flesh and not the reality.
Only those who have touched the spiritual reality in the Spirit of reality can live the Body life; the reality of the Body is in the Spirit.
The reality is not in the right procedure or the right arrangement, but in the Spirit; the Spirit is the Executor of all divine things, and He is the reality of God, Christ, and all the spiritual things.
In order for us to grow in the Lord and for the Lord to advance in us, we have to touch the spiritual reality in the Spirit of reality.
Lord Jesus, grant us to know what reality is and touch reality by exercising our spirit to touch and experience the Spirit of reality. Cause us to realise, Lord, that the Spirit of reality is the executor of all the divine things, and He is the reality of God and of Christ. Save us from mere outward practices and ordinances and bring us to touch You as the Spirit of reality. Lord, we exercise our spirit to touch the Spirit of reality so that we may intimately and personally guided into the reality of all that the Triune God is and has!
The Spirit of Reality Guides us into All the Reality of the Triune God and All Divine Matters
The Spirit of reality guides the believers into all the reality of the Triune God and of all the divine matters; the Lord Jesus said that the Spirit will not speak of Himself but what He hears (from the Son and the Father), He will speak.
The love of God is the source, the grace of Christ is the expression of God’s love as the course, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit is the flow, transmission, reaching out, and application of the love of God with the grace of Christ (2 Cor. 13:14).
Reality refers to what the Father has, what the Son has, and what the Spirit receives of the Son and of what the Father has (John 16:13). What the Father has is reality; what the Son has is reality; and what the Spirit receives is also reality (John 14:6, 17).
Reality refers to the person of the Triune God embodying all that He is, has, and has attained and obtained. What the Father has becomes the Son’s, what the Son has is received by the Spirit, and what the Spirit receives is disclosed to us (John 15:26).
The Spirit of reality receives everything from the Son, who is the embodiment of the Father; then, the Spirit transmits it to us. We are the final destination of the flowing Triune God in His Divine Trinity; all that the Father has and is, all that the Son has and is, is now transmitted to us through the Spirit.
The Father is embodied in the Son, the Son is transfigured to be the Spirit, and the Spirit is the reaching of the Divine Trinity to us.
When the Lord Jesus was on earth, He said that He is the reality; He was the embodiment of reality among the disciples and the people, but He could not yet get into them.
It was expedient for the Lord to go through death and resurrection so that He may have a change in form, from the form of the flesh to the form of the Spirit; when this change was accomplished, the reality of Christ became the reality of the Spirit, and the Spirit is of reality.
The Spirit of reality comes to abide in the disciples to be in them the reality of Christ; the reality which once was only in Christ became the Spirit of reality to indwell the believers and impart that reality into them.
Because the Spirit of reality has come into us, now reality abides in us, for the Spirit of reality guides us into all the reality of what the Triune God has and is, and of all the divine matters.
Through death and resurrection Christ as the reality became the Spirit, and the Spirit receives the reality from Christ to become the Spirit of reality, who dwells within us.
Hallelujah, the Spirit of reality beings the reality of Christ into us, the believers!
The Spirit of reality is the full realisation of the Son; whatever Christ the Son of God has accomplished and attained is being wrought into us.
The Spirit of reality guides us not in the doctrine or mere understanding of what Christ is but the reality of all that He is; it’s not like He’s helping us understand this or that, but He guides us into the reality of Christ Himself.
Thank You Lord Jesus for coming into us as the Spirit of reality to guide us into all the reality of what the Triune God has and is. Hallelujah, we are indwelt by the Spirit of reality who is constantly guiding us into the reality and realisation of the Triune God and all the divine matters! Lord, fill us with reality. Make us men of reality, genuine men who worship God in spirit and in truthfulness. Amen, Lord Jesus, may we be open to the inner working and guiding of the Spirit so that the reality of God, Christ, and all the divine things may be wrought into us!
