The Altar of Burnt Offering Typifies the Cross of Christ, the Base of All Spiritual Experience

One of the largest pieces of furnishing in the tabernacle is the altar of burnt offering, which typifies the cross of Christ. In the tabernacle there were two altars: the altar of burnt offering in the outer court and the incense altar in the Holy of … [Continue reading]

The Altar of Burnt Offering and the Incense Altar are for Carrying out God’s Economy

The two altars are related to God’s complete salvation: The altar of burnt offering is related to God’s judicial redemption accomplished in the physical realm by Christ in His earthly ministry. The golden altar of incense is related to God’s organic salvation carried out in the divine and mystical realm by Christ in His heavenly ministry. Witness Lee

After seeing the high revelation and the deep meaning of the golden incense altar, the "heart" of the tabernacle in the most holy sense, we now want to see more concerning the other altar, the altar of burnt offering. The incense altar is in the … [Continue reading]

Praying at the Incense Altar with no Strange Fire or Strange Incense in our Prayer

The Lord Jesus in His heavenly ministry is interceding for us, and He wants to gain many believers who cooperate with Him by being one with Him in His intercession. For this, we need to be in God (just as the priests were in the tabernacle when … [Continue reading]

The Executing Center of God’s Administration in the Universe is the Incense Altar

When we study the incense altar, we are studying the greatest matter in the universe. There is nothing more central than this. Although we are not politicians, we surely are heavenly statesmen. Furthermore, we are studying universal “politics,” that is, God’s politics. The Ark in the Holy of Holies is the central government, our heavenly Washington, D.C. The incense altar may be regarded as our heavenly White House. This means that everything is executed, motivated, and carried out from this divine center. The intercession of Christ is God’s White House. Christ’s interceding life, His prayer life, is the center of God’s administration. Witness Lee, Life-study of Exodus
