The One Accord is the Key to Enjoy every Spiritual Blessing in the New Testament

The one accord is the master key to every blessing in the New Testament. The one accord is the master key to all the blessings in the New Testament, and God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenlies in Christ (Eph. 1:3).

Our God is a blessing God, and we are under the blessing of God in our Christian life and church life. After He created man, He blessed him fully. After He called Abraham, He blessed him. Then in Num. 6 God blessed us with an eternal blessing – the blessing of the Triune God reaching us.

Our God is truly a blessing God, and on His side, He just wants to bless us, His people, for we bear His image and represent Him with His dominion. The blessing with which God wants to bless us is not physical or psychological – but it is spiritual, a spiritual blessing.

First, the Father blesses us and keeps us; He blesses us in His love, and He keeps us in His power.

Then, the Son causes His face to shine upon us and He is gracious to us; He makes God visible and real to us, and He brings us into the full enjoyment of Himself as grace.

Finally, the Spirit lifts up His countenance upon us and gives us peace; the Spirit brings us God’s smile, the expression of His face, and He gives us peace.

The result of the Father, the Son, and the Spirit being dispensed into us is that we are kept, we receive grace, and we have peace. Oh, what a blessing, to be kept by the Father, to receive grace from the Son, and to have peace from the Spirit!

On our side, however, there is one major condition: we need to keep the oneness and practice the one accord, so that God’s blessing of life would be poured out among us.

How good and how pleasant it is for the saints to dwell together in oneness….it is there that the Lord commands the blessing – life forever (Psa. 133). God commands eternal life as a blessing upon those who dwell together in oneness in the church life.

We need to live the church life and be in oneness to experience the blessing of life. If we live in oneness in the church life, God will come in to bless us with the anointing Spirit, the watering grace, and the eternal life.

If we remain on the ground of oneness, practicing the one accord, we will be under the Lord’s commanded blessing of life, that is, we will enjoy the spiritual blessing from God.

The One Accord is the Master Key to Every Blessing in the New Testament

Rom. 15:5-6 Now the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to be of the same mind toward one another according to Christ Jesus, that with one accord you may with one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. The landmark between the Gospels (presenting the life and work of Jesus, the God-man, while He was on earth until He was ascended) and the Acts (presenting the activities of the heavenly Christ through His disciples on earth to propagate God’s kingdom) is the one accord.

Many believe that the landmark that separates the Gospels from the book of Acts is the outpouring of the Spirit, but what happened at Pentecost is actually a direct result of the one accord of the one hundred and twenty disciples.

If we have the one accord in the church life today, we have the “master key” to all of God’s blessings in the New Testament. Without the one accord, we can do many things, but they are in vain; we can’t merely “copy” what others are doing – we need to have the one accord.

If in the church life today we have the one accord, we will enjoy every spiritual blessing bestowed and bequeathed on us by God. If we have the one accord in the church life among the saints, we will enjoy the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

The one accord, the practical expression of the oneness, is the key that opens all the rooms, the master key to every spiritual blessing in the New Testament.

If we lose the one accord, we may still be able to do many things, but we may rather damage the Body than build up; we need to recover and keep the one accord, so that we may have God’s blessing.

Paul told Euodias and Syntyche to have the one accord (Phil. 4:2), and in Rom. 15:5-6 he prayed that we would all have the same mind toward one another according to Christ Jesus, that with one accord we may with one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

What we need is to recover this one accord. If we mean business to go along with the Lord’s present-day move, we need this one accord. Who is right does not mean anything; we need this one accord. We need to have the same mind and the same will for the same purpose with the same soul and the same heart. Philippians tells us that this matter starts from our spirit (1:27), yet we must realize that we are not persons of spirit only. We are persons also of the mind, will, purpose, soul, and heart. For us to be in the same one spirit with the same one soul, one mind, and one will is to have the one accord, which is the key to all the New Testament blessings and bequests. Otherwise, we will repeat the pitiful history of Christianity by being another group of Christians repeating the same kind of disaccord. Witness LeeIf we mean business with the Lord today in His move, we need the one accord. It doesn’t matter who is right and who is wrong – what matters is the one accord. For the sake of keeping the one accord, we need to deny the self and put our opinions, suggestions, and feelings aside.

The one accord starts from our spirit (Phil. 1:27), and it is in our mind, will, purpose, soul, and heart; we are not merely “spirit”, so the one accord needs to be in every part of our soul.

For us to be in the same one spirit with the same one soul, one mind, and one will is to have the one accord; this is the master key to all the New Testament blessings and bequests.

May the Lord have mercy on us that we would not repeat the pitiful and divisive history in Christianity today, but that we would keep the one accord and enjoy God’s spiritual blessing upon the one accord.

May we be saved from having discord and be brought into having one spirit with one soul, one mind, and one heart, for the Lord to pour out His blessing upon the church.

Lord Jesus, save us from repeating the pitiful and divisive history of Christianity. Recover the one accord among us. We mean business with You in your present-day move. Grant us to have the same mind and the same will for the same purpose with the same soul and the same heart. May we pay the price of losing our soul life and denying the self with all its opinions and suggestions, for the sake of keeping the one accord. Lord, we treasure Your blessing, and we treasure the one accord among us that brings in Your blessing!

God the Father has Blessed us with every Spiritual Blessing in the Heavenlies in Christ

Eph. 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenlies in Christ.Ephesians 1:3 is a verse that clearly tells us what the blessing from God is: it is a spiritual blessing, it is in Christ, and it is from God the Father. The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenlies in Christ.

Clearly the blessings are not physical or material but heavenly, spiritual, and in Christ. The Father is the source of the divine blessing, the Spirit is the nature and essence of the divine blessing, and the Son is the sphere, the element, and the means of the divine blessing.

The blessing is simply Christ Himself – Christ, the Son of God, is the spiritual blessing; the Spirit is the nature and essence of the blessing, and the Father is the source who gives us this blessing.

Eph. 1:3-14 develops what the spiritual blessing is – the Father’s selection and predestination (speaking forth God’s eternal purpose, vv. 3-6), the Son’s redemption (speaking forth the accomplishment of God’s eternal purpose, vv. 7-12), and the Spirit’s sealing and pledging (speaking forth the application of God’s accomplished purpose, vv. 13-14).

The nature and essence of the divine blessing are of the Spirit, but the element of this blessing is Christ Himself. For Christ to be the element of God’s blessing means that Christ Himself is the divine blessing; God blesses us with the spiritual blessing in Christ – Christ is the blessing.

God the Father embodied in Christ and realized as the Spirit is the blessing. And we as believers in Christ on earth are enjoying these heavenly blessings, which are spiritual as well as heavenly.

The Father is the source of the divine blessing, the Spirit is the nature and essence of the divine blessing, and the Son is the sphere, the element, and the means of the divine blessing. The nature and essence of the divine blessing are of the Spirit, but the element of this blessing is Christ Himself; for Christ to be the element of God’s blessing means that Christ Himself is the divine blessing. Christ, the Son Himself, is the blessing; the Spirit is the nature and essence of the blessing; and the Father is the source who gives this blessing. Crystallization-Study of Ezekiel (2), outline 4These blessings are different from the blessings with which God blessed Israel; those blessings were physical and earthly, but the blessings from God are spiritual and heavenly. The blessings bestowed on us are of God the Father, in God the Son, through God the Spirit, and in the heavenlies.

God blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing. These are spiritual blessings bestowed by the Triune God on us, the believers in Christ; they are blessings in the heavenlies, having a heavenly nature, state, character, and atmosphere (see Eph. 1:3, note 8, Recovery Version Bible).

When we say that we are blessed, what we should mean is that we are blessed by God the Father in Christ the Son through God the Spirit with every spiritual blessing.

When we say, God bless you, or, God bless, what we should mean is, May the Father bless you in Christ through the Spirit with every spiritual blessing, that is, with the dispensing of the Triune God.

Thank You Father for blessing us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenlies in Christ. Thank You Father for selecting us and predestinating us to carry out Your eternal purpose. Thank You Lord Jesus for redeeming us to accomplish God’s eternal purpose. Thank You Holy Spirit for sealing us and giving us a pledge of our inheritance to apply and carry out God’s accomplished purpose. Lord, keep us under the dispensing of the Divine Trinity, enjoying every spiritual blessing of God in Christ through the Spirit!

Without the one accord all our doings will be in vain. We must realize that the practices in the Lord’s recovery are not matters for others to copy. You must have the life. To do anything you need the life. You have to see what the landmark was of the one hundred twenty in the book of Acts. The landmark that divides the Gospels and the Acts was not the baptism in the Holy Spirit. The landmark was the one accord….If you want to experience the baptism in the Spirit, you must have the one accord. If all the members of a local church have the one accord, the baptism in the Spirit will be there. If you really want to practice the proper way to preach the gospel, you need the one accord. Without this key, no door can be opened. The one accord is the “master key to all the rooms,” the master key to every blessing in the New Testament. This is why Paul told Euodias and Syntyche that they needed this one accord (Phil. 4:2). Paul knew that these sisters loved the Lord but that they had lost the one accord. (Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1986, vol. 1, “Elders’ Training, Book 7: One Accord for the Lord’s Move,” p. 83)
