Offering Ourselves Willingly to the Lord and Becoming the Morning Dew to Refresh Him

Your people will offer themselves willingly in the day of Your warfare, in the splendor of their consecration. Your young men will be to You like the dew from the womb of the dawn. Jehovah has sworn, and He will not change: You are a Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek. Psalm 110:3-4

In Psalm 110 we see a very practical way to enjoy Christ in His heavenly ministry as the kingly High Priest: by offering ourselves to Him willingly in the day of His warfare, in the day of our consecration, and by being to Him like the dew from the womb of the dawn, refreshing Him as He fights the battle.

Today Christ is carrying out His heavenly ministry in ascension by interceding for us before God, by shepherding us according to God, and by fighting the battle. There is a warfare going on today, and Christ will not rest until all His enemies will be a footstool under His feet, under the feet of the church (Heb. 10:13; Acts 2:35).

Because we belong to Christ and are one with Him, as believers in Christ we are also involved in this universal warfare, and the best thing we can do is to offer ourselves willingly to Him through our willing consecration, so that He may be refreshed as a plant is refreshed with the dew at dawn.

If we offer ourselves willingly to the Lord, we will be beautified with divine, heavenly splendor, and we become to Him like the refreshing and watering dew in the day of His warfare.

We need to enter “the womb of the dawn” by getting up early in the morning to contact the Lord, enjoy Him, praise Him, worship Him, pray to Him, and fellowship with Him. As we enjoy the Lord in the morning, we are nourished and supplied and He is refreshed and watered.

George Muller once said, “My first duty with the Lord in the morning is to make my soul happy in the Lord.” Our duty first thing in the morning is to touch the Lord, open to Him, enjoy Him, sing to Him, touch Him, and fellowship with Him and our soul will be made happy in Him.

As a result of our fellowshipping with the Lord and consecrating ourselves to Him early in the morning, we are satisfied and Christ is satisfied! We are watered inwardly and Christ is also watered and refreshed. Our kingly High Priest, the One who intercedes for us and has the scepter between His feet (Psa. 110) is watered by our willing consecration to Him early in the morning!

Our Willing Consecration to the Lord is a Splendor in the Lord’s Eyes

Psa. 110:3 says, “Your people will offer themselves willingly in the day of Your warfare, in the splendor of their consecration. Your young men will be to You like the dew from the womb of the dawn.”

We may think that Christ is resting and “relaxing in the heavens” since He already accomplished redemption, but the Bible tells us that in His heavenly ministry Christ is in warfare, and He is a Victorious Warrior leading His armies in the battle to defeat His enemies and make them a footstool under His feet.

We as the many members of His Body are also involved in this warfare, and the way we cooperate with Him is by offering ourselves willingly to Him in the day of His warfare.

In our Christian life and church life, we are in constant warfare: every meeting is a warfare, every time of fellowship with the brothers is a warfare, and every time we set aside to fellowship with the Lord is a battle. We are surrounded both within and without by enemies such as the self, the flesh, the natural man, the fallen soul, the opinions, the evil spirits, and many other negative things.

The way to cooperate with the Lord in this warfare is by offering ourselves willingly to Him through our fresh consecration every morning. Others may consider our willing consecration a waste, but

“The disciples considered Mary’s love offering to the Lord a waste. Throughout the past twenty centuries thousands of precious lives, heart treasures, high positions, and golden futures have been “wasted” upon the Lord Jesus. To those who love Him in such a way He is altogether lovely and worthy of their offering. What they have poured upon Him is not a waste but a fragrant testimony of His sweetness.” (Matt. 26:8 footnote 1, Recovery Version).

In the Lord’s eyes, our willing consecration is a matter of splendor – He considers it as something splendid, glorious! Although the church has become degraded, throughout the centuries there have been many thousands of people who have offered themselves willingly to the Lord in the splendor, the beauty, of their consecration.

J.N.Darby was such a one, serving the Lord until the end of his life and testifying even in his old age, “Lord Jesus, I still love You.” Watchman Nee and Witness Lee were two servants of the Lord who loved Him to the uttermost and poured out everything they had on Him.

You and I can be such ones, those who willingly offer themselves to the Lord in consecration today that He may be refreshed, watered, and supplied in the day of His warfare.

Lord Jesus, we love You! We give ourselves to You right now. In the day of Your warfare, as You fight Your enemies to defeat them and put them under Your feet and under the feet of the Body, we desire to offer ourselves to You willingly. Make us the young men who are fresh with You, offering You a fresh consecration every morning for Your satisfaction and refreshment.

Entering “the Womb of the Dawn” to Become the Dew to Refresh Christ and Water Him

We need to Touch the Lord Early in the Morning

Psalm 110 is very poetic, saying, “Your young men will be to You like the dew from the womb of the dawn.” (Psa. 110:4). What does it mean to be like “the dew from the womb of the dawn”? The dew descends early in the morning upon all the earth to water the plants and the grass.

The thought here is that we need to rise up early, even before the sunrise, to contact the Lord in an intimate way and enjoy Him so that He may enjoy us as the “dew from the womb of the dawn.” If we don’t wake up early in the morning, we miss the dew: we miss being the refreshing dew to the Lord.

We need to build up a habit of having morning watch with the Lord, having a time with Him to enjoy Him and being produced as the refreshing dew. We need to “enter into the womb of the morning” and be produced, conceived, as the dew with which to water Christ.

When we rise up early and touch the Lord, something fresh of Christ is conceived in us and we become the dew to water Christ for His satisfaction. Our time with the Lord in the morning is not merely for our satisfaction but it is for us to become the dew for His satisfaction and supply.

Watchman Nee once said, Who do you love more: the Lord or your bed? In the morning we are daily being tested: do we love the Lord more or do we love the extra sleep? If we rise up early to touch the Lord, we will enjoy Him in a fresh way and we will be produced as the dew to refresh Him.

We need to build up such a habit of having a personal, intimate, and spiritual time with the Lord in the morning. What should we do in this time? How can we become the dew? There’s no set rules, but it is good to pray to the Lord and open your whole heart to Him, turning your heart to the Lord so that any veils would be taken away (2 Cor. 3:16).

In our time with the Lord in the morning it is good to pray-read the word of God by personalizing the words in the Bible, talking to the Lord with His word, and praying the word of God back to Him. In our fellowship with the Lord we need to open up our whole being to Him so that He may enlighten us, speak to us, impress us, and touch us.

What we want is to touch Him in a fresh way and let Him touch us. We can sing to the Lord, praise Him, and call on His name. As we enjoy the Lord in the morning in such a way, something fresh of Christ is wrought into us, and we become the dew to refresh Him, water Him, and supply Him in the day of His warfare.

Christ as the kingly High Priest is fighting the warfare for God today, and we can become the refreshing dew to Him by offering ourselves willingly to Him in our personal and intimate time with Him in the morning!

Lord Jesus, we want to be the dew conceived and produced by the womb of the morning for You to be watered! Draw us to rise up early in the morning and enjoy You, touch You, and fellowship with You. Lord, we offer ourselves willingly to You in the day of Your warfare by having a life of morning revival for Your satisfaction and our enjoyment. May we enter the womb of the dawn in our morning watch with You that something of Christ may be conceived in us in a fresh way as the dew for Your refreshment, enjoyment, supply, and watering!
