Dear saints, let us pray that the saints would see and experience the progression from remembering the Lord to worshipping the Father according to the spiritual experience of coming to the Lord and being brought by Him to the Father (Heb. 2:10-12; John 14:6; Eph. 2:18; 1 John 2:23b; Hymns, #48).
According to our experience, the Spirit sought us while we were still sinners and brought us to the cross to meet the Son, and then the Son brought us to the Father (Luke 15; 1 Pet. 1:2). This principle is shown in 1 Corinthians 12:3, which says, “No one can say, Jesus is Lord! except in the Holy Spirit,” indicating that the Holy Spirit brings us to the Lord. Furthermore, 1 John 2:23 says, “Everyone who denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who confesses the Son has the Father also,” indicating that the Son brings us to the Father. Thus, we need to come to the Son first so that He can bring us to the Father. According to this principle, we should first remember the Lord at the Lord’s table meeting and then toward the end of the meeting allow the Lord to take the lead to worship the Father. Then we as the brothers of Christ can join our older Brother to worship the Father with Him. (Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1964, vol. 3, “Basic Principles for the Church Meetings,” ch. 5)
