Know and Experience Christ as the Mystery of God: we have One Life and Living with Him

In whom all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden. Col. 2:3

Christ is the mystery of God: in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily and in Him all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden; with such a One, we have one position, one life, one living, one destiny, and one glory. Hallelujah!

Our Christ is the most wonderful One; He did not only come to embody God and express Him when He was on earth but even more, He is in us as the all-inclusive One for our enjoyment and experience today.

In Christ, God became man; God was brought into man through the incarnation of Christ.

Then, through Christ’s resurrection, man was brought into God.

Now in God, there is a man, and in man there is God; God is mingled with man and man is mingled with God.

Christ today is not only a man but He became a life-giving Spirit, and in this Spirit there is God, man, incarnation, humanity, human living, crucifixion, and resurrection.

Everything that God is, everything He has done as a man, and everything that He has accomplished is in the Spirit.

The Spirit today is the all-inclusive life-giving Spirit as the Triune God reaching us in a final and ultimate way to impart into us all that God is and has done. Praise the Lord!

As such a Spirit, He is the very air we breathe, the water we drink, and the food we eat; He has become so available and so near to us that we can contact Him, receive Him, enjoy Him, and be filled with Him.

As we enjoy Christ as the Spirit in our spirit and in the Word of God, we are in Christ and Christ is in us, and we grow up into Him in all things.

As we enjoy Christ, we can become full-grown in Him, we can walk in Him, and we can be and do all things according to Him. Hallelujah!

May we really see that, as believers in Christ who are learning to exercise their spirit in their daily living, Christ is in us and we are in Christ.

He is like the air – He’s all around us, waiting to be breathed in by us, and we can do all things in Him.

As we enjoy the Lord, breathe Him in by calling on His name, and partake of His riches in His word, we eat, digest, and assimilate God, and we grow with the growth of God.

This is an organic process taking place in our spiritual being; outwardly we may not see much change, but inwardly there’s an organic process going on.

We are learning to enjoy the indwelling Christ, we live in Christ and He lives in us, and we walk in Christ, move in Christ, and have our being in Christ.

What an all-inclusive, extensive Christ we have!

Since we have such a Christ, may we look away from anything unto Him to enjoy Him, partake of Him, and be one with Him!

May we enjoy His riches and have our daily living in Him so that He may grow in us unto maturity.

Christ is the Mystery of God, and in Him, all the Treasures of Wisdom and Knowledge are Hidden

That their hearts may be comforted, they being knit together in love and unto all the riches of the full assurance of understanding, unto the full knowledge of the mystery of God, Christ, in whom all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden. Col. 2:2-3The book of Ephesians concerns the mystery of Christ, which is the church (Eph. 3:4); the book of Colossians, however, concerns the mystery of God, which is Christ (Col. 2:2).

We need to come to the Lord and have our hearts comforted, being knit together in love and unto all the riches of the full assurance of understanding, unto the full knowledge of the mystery of God, Christ, in whom all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden (vv. 2-3).

Our emotion is involved, for we’re knit together in love, and our mind is also involved, for there are the riches of the full assurance of understanding.

When our hearts are comforted, we are knit together in love, and our minds function properly; the result is that we have the full knowledge of Christ as the mystery of God.

In this One, in Christ, all the treasures of genuine wisdom and knowledge are hidden.

Paul is so wise in writing the Epistle to the Colossians; in writing concerning Christ in this way, Paul takes a wrecking ball to the Greek philosophy, Gnosticism and mysticism, which has plagued the church in Colosse.

These isms and philosophies are nothing compared to Christ; they only make people high-minded and proud of culture and other things, thinking they are on a higher level of humanity, but they are nothing compared to Christ.

We need culture, otherwise, we behave in a barbaric way; however, when culture hinders us from enjoying Christ and even becomes a replacement for Christ, we need to put culture aside.

As believers in Christ, we are called not to live out our culture and philosophies but to live Christ, even enter Christ as the mystery of God and know Him to enjoy Him and live Him out.

The wisdom and knowledge in Christ are spiritual, referring to the divine economy concerning Christ and the church.

Wisdom is related to our spirit, and knowledge is related to our mind (Eph. 1:8, 17).

Some of the saints in Colosse who were affected by Gnosticism, Greek philosophies, and elements of the culture were proud of their Gnosticism and asceticism, thinking that this is how people should live.

Here was Paul, however, telling them about Christ.

We need to have the full assurance of understanding to see that Christ is the mystery of God, the one in whom all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden.

In Christ, all the fullness of the Godhead dwells bodily (Col. 1:19; 2:9). All the fullness was pleased to dwell in Christ.

For in Him all the fullness was pleased to dwell. Col. 1:19 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. Col. 2:9The fullness both in the old creation and in the new creation dwells in Christ.

The fullness is not just the riches but the expression of the riches; the expression of God’s riches both in the old and in the new creation dwells in Christ.

The fullness dwells in Christ bodily; before His incarnation, the fullness of the Godhead dwelt in Christ as the eternal Word, but not in a bodily form.

However, from the time that Christ was incarnated, putting on a human body, the fullness of the Godhead began to dwell in Him in a bodily way, and both now and forever in His glorified body (Phil. 3:21) this fullness is pleased to dwell! Praise the Lord!

May we see such a Christ and focus our entire being on Him.

May we open to the Lord that He would give us a spirit of wisdom and understanding in the full knowledge of Christ (Eph. 1:17) who is the mystery of God.

And may we spend much time with the Lord in His word and in our daily experience to dig and enjoy the riches of wisdom and understanding that are hidden in Him.

All these riches are for us to explore, enjoy, and experience in our daily life.

May we look not to our situation but to the Lord so that we may partake of His riches and enjoy Him!

Lord Jesus, cause our hearts to be comforted, us being knit together in love and unto all the riches of the full assurance of understanding! Amen, Lord, we want to enjoy You as the Christ, the mystery of God, the one in whom all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden. Grant us to see a revelation of who You are. Oh Lord, grant us a spirit of wisdom and understanding in the full knowledge of Christ, the mystery of God. Amen, Lord, as the mystery of God, You are everything to us. We exercise our spirit and our renewed mind to apprehend You and arrive unto the full knowledge of the mystery of God, Christ. What a Christ we have! He is much superior to any human philosophy, gnosticism, or asceticism! He is the mystery of God and in Him, all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden. We come to You, Lord, and we want to explore, enjoy, and experience the riches of what You are so that we may become the mystery of Christ, the church, to be Your fullness and Your expression!

We have One Position, One Life, One Living, One Destiny, and One Glory with Christ!

If therefore you were raised together with Christ, seek the things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things which are above, not on the things which are on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ our life is manifested, then you also will be manifested with Him in glory. Col. 3:1-4Col. 3:1-4 is a wonderful portion of God’s word which implies that we believers in Christ have one position, one life, one living, one destiny, and one glory with Christ.

We have been raised together with Christ and we were seated with Him in the heavenlies; Christ is seated at the right hand of God.

Therefore, we set our mind on the things which are above, not on the things which are on the earth, for we have died, and our life is hidden with Christ in God.

When Christ, our life, is manifested, then we will also be manifested with Him in glory. Hallelujah!

This is very experiential and applicable to our daily Christian life.

Christ did not die and resurrect alone on the cross; we died in Him and with Him, and we were raised with Him and in Him.

Christ made us one with Him and we are one with Christ; we and Christ share one position, for where He is, there we are also.

Christ and we have one life; He came into us to be our life, and His life became our life, while our life is His life.

This means that day by day Christ needs to be our living; we and Christ share one life and one living.

How about our daily living? Do we live one spirit with the Lord or do we live in and by ourselves?

Is Christ our living and are we living Christ when we go to certain places and are engaged in certain activities?

When we speak, He speaks; when we are silent, He is silent.

If we become angry and Christ is not angry, we don’t have one life and one living with Him at that particular time; in this situation, our living is not His living.

We all have to admit that, in so many cases, we did not have one living with Christ.

We may share the same position and life with Him, but our daily living may not be His daily living. Oh, Lord!

We may try to refrain from losing our temper, and we may strive very much to suppress or control our outbursts of anger, but if we do this in ourselves and not in Christ, it amounts to nothing.

By trying to control our temper without being one with the Lord, we are religious; but if we do not lose our temper because we are living with Christ, then we’re one with Him in life and in living.

Christ has become the same as we are to make us the same as He is, and this is true in all the things of our daily life.

If we are a student and need to go to school, Christ is our life and He wants to be our living there, with our classmates.

Colossians 3:1-4 implies that with Christ we have one position, one life, one living, one destiny, and one glory. Because we and Christ have one position, we are where He is…The life He has we have also. Moreover, we have one living with Christ…If we have one living with Christ in a practical way day by day, then whatever we do, He does also. This means that when we talk, He talks…We also have one glory and destiny with Christ. Glory is our future and our destination. The Lord Jesus is now in glory. However, He is in glory in a way that is hidden from mankind…One day Christ will be in glory no longer in a hidden way but in an open way, in the way of manifestation. Then everyone on earth will know that the Lord Jesus is in glory. Christ’s destiny is to be openly in glory. This is our destiny as well. Life-study of Colossians, second edition, pp. 509- 510, by Witness LeeIf we are a father and a husband, Christ wants to be our life and our living as a husband and as a father.

If we’re a mother to two or three little ones, struggling to care for them and take care of the household matters, Christ is our life and He wants to be our living where we are.

May we contact the Lord and be one with Him so that we may live Christ (Phil. 1:21).

We also have one glory and one destiny with Christ; our future and destination is glory, for that’s where Christ is right now.

Jesus Christ is in glory; this glory is hidden from mankind but one day it will be open, manifested.

Until that day, Christ as glory operates in us, works in us, and wants to be expressed through us until He will come forth.

One day the glorious Christ within us will be manifested, no longer being hidden, and He will be glorified – and we will be glorified with Him! Hallelujah!

Our destiny is to be with Christ in glory; we will share the same destiny and glory as Christ.

Then, everyone will know that the Lord Jesus is in glory, and we will share in this glory.

We do not know what we will be, but we know that we will be like Him, for we will see Him even as He is (1 John 3:2). Hallelujah!

Hallelujah, we were raised together with Christ, and now we seek the things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Amen, Lord, we set our mind not on the things which are on the earth but on the things which are above, where Christ is. Thank You, Lord, for granting us to have one position, one life, one living, one destiny, and one glory with You! Thank You for coming into us as our life; Christ is our life, and He is in us as the hope of glory! We want to have one living with You today. Live in us today, Lord Jesus. May our living be Your living, and may Your living be our living. Hallelujah, we will have one glory and one destiny with Christ! Amen, Lord, when You return we believe that You will transfigure even the body of our humiliation to bring us fully into glory! Praise the Lord, we share one destiny and future with the Lord, that is, to be in glory! Praise the Lord!

The book of Ephesians concerns the mystery of Christ, which is the church, the Body (3:4). Colossians concerns the mystery of God, which is Christ, the Head. (Col. 2:2, footnote 5) The apostle told the Colossians that all the treasures of genuine wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Christ. This is the spiritual wisdom and knowledge of the divine economy concerning Christ and the church. Wisdom is related to our spirit, and knowledge is related to our mind (Eph. 1:8, 17).

What a Christ we have!

In Him all the fullness was pleased to dwell, and He is the mystery of God, the One in whom all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden. Wow!

With Christ we have one position, one life, one living, one destiny, and one glory!

We are where He is, we have His life and are His living, and we share the same destiny, which is glory!

Oh Lord, keep us one spirit with You today. May we speak what You speak, love what You love, and do what You do. May we have one life and one living with You today!

The growth of the Body depends on what comes out of Christ as the Head, just as the growth of a plant depends on what comes into the plant from the soil. If a plant does not absorb nutrients from the Holding the Head is, therefore, equal to being rooted

Whenever we are outside the spirit, we are earthly and are not running the race.

God in the heavens should be the sphere of our living, and we are in the heavens when we are one spirit with Jesus.

This is the spiritual wisdom and knowledge of the divine economy concerning Christ and the church.

If we live a hidden life in Christ in this age, we will eventually be openly seen in glory. What a destiny we have in Christ.

Let’s lay aside the sin of being out of our spirit and look away unto Jesus, and continue to run the race of life with endurance.

May life be our crown.

One spirit with you all the time, O Lord…

Before incarnation the Godhead dwelt in Christ as the Eternal Word.

After incarnation, the fullness of the Godhead – the riches of the expression of God – dwelt in Christ in a bodily form.

Now that He is in us, such a fullness dwells in us – so that His life is our life and together, with Him as our source we have one living.

When we talk, He should be the one talking, and we are not angry because He is not angry.

In such a way we express Him not by outward, religious effort but because He indwells us as the fullness of the Godhead and we are filled up in Him!

According to history, the influence of Gnostic teaching, which included Greek philosophy, invaded the Gentile churches in Paul’s time. Hence, the apostle told the Colossians that all the treasures of genuine wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Christ. This is the spiritual wisdom and knowledge of the divine economy concerning Christ and the church. Wisdom is related to our spirit, and knowledge is related to our mind (Eph. 1:8, 17).
