What we need today is not more divine power or authority – we need the humanity of Jesus for the Lord’s recovery, for the spiritual warfare, and for the kingdom of God.
As we partake of Christ as the meal offering, we may possess the humanity of Jesus for the Lord’s recovery, for the spiritual warfare, and for the kingdom of God.
In this age of degradation, the Lord has called us to be in His recovery, so that through us He may accomplish His purpose to have the church as the house of God and the kingdom of God.
The world is going downhill; humanity is being corrupted and degraded, and the church is also in degradation. People are lovers of self, lovers of money, and lovers of pleasures, but they don’t love God or the word of God.
What God desires to gain is a group of people who have the humanity of Jesus for the Lord’s recovery today. We are in a situation today that requires the Lord’s humanity for His recovery.
For Him to recover a group of people who are returning to His original intention to build up the church as the house of God, we need to have a proper humanity – we need the humanity of Jesus.
The humanity of Jesus is not just any kind of humanity, neither is it merely the original humanity created by God, which Adam had before the fall, the humanity without sin. The humanity of Jesus is the uplifted humanity with the highest standard of morality, the humanity that is mingled with divinity so that the divine attributes are expressed through the human virtues.
For us to stand up in this degraded age, what we need is not mainly the divine power but the humanity of Jesus. Therefore, the Lord is doing a recovery work in which He needs a people who take Him as their humanity (2 Tim. 3:10-12).
In the midst of the degradation of the church and the corruption of society, we are here for the Lord’s recovery, and for this we need the humanity of Jesus to fulfill God’s purpose (2 Tim. 1:9).
Only the Lord’s humanity can fulfill the commission to be the testimony of the Lord’s recovery in this dark age. For us to be the Lord’s testimony in this dark age, we need the humanity of Jesus.
We are not called to be involved in politics or to argue with those in authority; we are called to live out the humanity of Jesus for God’s building, for the Lord to obtain a solid testimony where He has placed us. We simply need to live Christ by allowing Him to be expressed through our virtues in our daily living.
We need the Humanity of Jesus for the Spiritual Warfare
After Adam fell and God came in to deal with His enemy, He promised that the seed of the woman will bruise the head of the serpent (Gen. 3:15); this shows that, in the spiritual warfare between God and man, what defeats the enemy is a man – Christ as the seed of the woman.
The spiritual warfare between the enemy and the saints is mainly dependent upon the humanity of Jesus (1 Cor. 15:47; Heb. 2:14). For us to fight the spiritual warfare, we may think we need to be more spiritual or more powerful, but what God needs to deal with His enemy is the humanity of Jesus lived out in us.
When the Lord Jesus was in the wilderness being tempted by the enemy, He was fighting the spiritual warfare as a man; three times the enemy tempted Him, and three times the Lord stood on the position of a Man.
He clearly told the enemy, Man shall not live by bread alone – but by every word that comes out of the mouth of God; man should worship God, serve God, and not tempt God. The Lord Jesus defeated Satan as a Man – He stood on the position of a man to fight against the devil.
We don’t need “more power” or “more authority”; we need the humanity of Jesus for the spiritual warfare, we need the uplifted, proper humanity of Jesus to fight against the enemy. For the church to fight the spiritual warfare, we all need the proper humanity (Eph. 5:17-6:13).
In Eph. 6 Paul speaks of spiritual warfare, but before this portion, he speaks of the proper human relationships and proper humanity – husbands, fathers, wives, children, masters, slaves… We all need to be properly related in our humanity, for when we have the proper humanity of Jesus, we can fight the spiritual warfare.
For us to fight the battle against the enemy, we must exercise the humanity of Jesus (2 Cor. 10:1). Paul entreats the saints not through the power and authority of Christ but through the meekness and gentleness of Christ.
We need to realize that in ourselves we don’t have the proper humanity, but we have Christ within us, and His humanity is the proper humanity for the spiritual warfare (see Col. 1:27; 1 John 4:4).
In ourselves we have a fallen, corrupted, and low humanity, no matter how much we try to perfect it and cultivate it; but in our spirit we have the humanity of Jesus, for Christ lives in us, and we are joined to Him as one spirit.
In Christ the enemy has nothing – no possibility, no occasion, in anything; and this One is in us. Hallelujah, the One who lives in us is stronger than the one who is in the world.
As we eat the Lord as the meal offering, we eat the humanity of Jesus, and we possess the humanity of Jesus for the spiritual warfare.
The way for us to live out the humanity of Jesus is by eating Christ as the meal offering, eating His God-man living and being constituted with Him; then, He will live in us. How much we need the humanity of Jesus for the spiritual warfare!
Lord Jesus, we need the humanity of Jesus for the spiritual warfare. May all the saints in the church life possess the proper, uplifted, divinely enriched humanity of Jesus for dealing with the enemy. May we learn to eat Christ in His humanity, eat His God-man living, so that we may live Christ day by day, expressing the Lord in our humanity. Amen, Lord, be expressed in us and through us! Be the One who lives in us in all our daily living, in our interactions with others, and in everything!
We need the Humanity of Jesus for the Kingdom of God
On one hand, the kingdom of God is the realm of the divine life, the realm of God, where He and His live are present and He reigns as king. On the other hand, the kingdom of God is the kingdom of the God-man Jesus, and for the kingdom of God we need the humanity of Jesus (Rev. 1:9; Rom. 14:17).
For God to have a kingdom on the earth, there’s the need for His redeemed and regenerated people to possess the humanity of Jesus and have the proper human virtues (1 Cor. 6:9-10; Gal. 5:19-21; Eph. 5:3-5).
Through regeneration we are born again – we are born of God, and we enter the kingdom of God; it is only by being born of God that we can see the kingdom of God. In the kingdom of God we have God as the King, and our God is Jesus Christ – the God-man!
This kingdom is the kingdom of the Son of His love, who has become a man. We need to have the humanity of Jesus for the kingdom of God. When we have the humanity of Jesus, we will not only be in the kingdom of God – we will be the kingdom of God (Rom. 14:17).
The kingdom of God is a divine-human kingdom; it is in humanity that God will come to reign, and even when He comes to reign and carry out His judgment, He will be in His humanity.
For us to be in the kingdom of God, we need to have the proper human virtues, and for these virtues, we need the humanity of Jesus.
Satan has been deceiving the Lord’s seekers for many generations – he either keeps Christians from seeking spiritual things, or he causes them to pay more attention to the divine side and neglect the humanity of Jesus.
Satan is such a deceiving one: he knows that the Lord will defeat him through the proper humanity of Jesus, so he distracts the believers from eating Jesus in His humanity, so that they would only seek after spiritual things but not pay attention to their humanity.
In the Lord’s recovery He is recovering the humanity of Jesus to strengthen the church life. The Lord is recovering today the proper church life with the proper humanity of Jesus, so that God’s glory may be expressed in humanity in all the local churches, through the saints’ daily living in the humanity of Jesus.
At the end of the Bible – Rev. 20:4 – we see the overcomers, those who reign with Christ for a thousand years; how do they become qualified to reign with Christ? It is by the humanity of Jesus being wrought into them.
May the Lord hep us realize how much we need the humanity of Jesus for the Lord’s recovery, for the spiritual warfare, and for the kingdom of God.
We need to have all the human virtues that Jesus had, being enriched with the divine attributes, so that we may put Satan to shame, express Christ, and live in the church life as the kingdom of God.
Every bit of our daily life and walk must be conformed to the Lord’s humanity in our spirit, so that we may live in the church as the kingdom of God.
We need to eat Christ – the wonderful God-man with His God-man living, the real meal offering – and partake of Him, so that we can become His reproduction. We can eat the Lord every day, wherever we are; we need to digest Him and assimilate Him until He is reproduced in us.
Lord Jesus, show us how much we need the humanity of Jesus for the kingdom of God! Hallelujah, we are in the church life as the reality of the kingdom of God! Amen! May every bit of our daily life and walk be conformed to the Lord’s humanity in our spirit, so that we may have a proper church life, which is God’s kingdom on the earth today. Amen, Lord, gain the proper church life with the proper humanity of Jesus being lived out among the saints for the expression of God and the defeat of Your enemy!

- Hymns on this topic:
# God called Timothy, now, / Like-souled with Paul, who knew how / To pray and be soaked in the Word; / His spirit fanned into flame, / Lord, make my spirit the same, / An overcoming man of God! / Make us the overcomers, / Christ’s Bride, and God’s age-turners. / Make us those who consummate the age! (Song on God needs overcomers)
# “Man shall not live by bread alone, / But by each word which doth proceed / From God’s own mouth”; these we must eat / And let them be our life indeed. (Hymns #814)
# God’s eternal economy / Is to make man the same as He is / In life and nature, / But not in the Godhead / And to make Himself one with man / And man one with Him / Thus to be enlarged and expanded in His expression / That all His divine, that all His divine / Attributes may be expressed in human virtues. (Song on, God’s eternal economy)
Amen!!
The Lord is doing a recovery work in which He needs a people who realize and take Him as their humanity….We must declare and even proclaim to this universe that we are here as genuine men. We are here as a corporate man taking Jesus as our humanity. This will terrify the enemy. The tempter came to the Lord Jesus and said, “If You are the Son of God…” But the Lord Jesus answered by referring to Himself as a man (Matt. 4:3-4). That terrified the enemy. We must be “Jesusly” human. Every member of the church in the Lord’s recovery must be a proper man, even an “acacia” man. This will be a strong testimony, and the mouth of the enemy will be shut.
