Romans 1:20 says
For the invisible things of Him, both His eternal power and divine characteristics, have been clearly seen since the creation of the world, being perceived by the things made, so that they would be without excuse;
God is invisible, and no one has ever seen God. But the creation itself speaks about Him, even preaches the gospel! How can you believe that there is no God when you see the wonders of creations, the wonderful forests and mountains, the springs and the rivers, the lakes and the seas, the oceans and all the animals in it, all the animals on the earth and their way of life/survival/feeding? There is such an absolute balance in the way the nature is and works(until man touches it and tries to “stabilize it”). If we study how all these natural / created things live/have their being, harmonize and relate to the other things/animals, we will be so impressed – all the created things show that there must be a mastermind, someone Supernatural, behind these things, who not only created them but also sustains and upholds them. Why is there gravitation on earth, what keeps the things on earth “stuck” to the earth, and why all the living things are growing? What is the power/force that holds all things together?
All the visible things in the creation manifest God’s divine characteristics(the beauty, the harmony, the diversity, the balance, the wonderfulness, the greatness, the majesty, the colourfullness, the perfection, the authority, the lovingkindness, the wisdom, the art, the orderliness, etc – of God) and His eternal power(upholding and supporting the earth, being the central force that makes all things work, giving life and maintaining life, holding the universe together, holding all the plants/animals/human bodies together, all things cohere in Him – Col 1:16-17, having authority and delegating authority to some people, the power in holding all seemingly opposite things/living beings from anihilating each other, allowing evil with a measure, rewarding the good, the night/day punctual rotation, the seasons, the rain, the snow, the clouds, the air, the earth etc – so many expressions of His power).
Seeing all the wonderful/amazing and wondrous things/living beings in the creation has determined most of the people that there must be a God. With such a solid revelation by the concrete physical creation of God, there is no excuse for man to say that there is no God or that he cannot apprehend God. “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge.” – read Psalm 19 for seeing more about how God is revealed in His creation. Both the physical universe and our own personal universe coheres / subsists / is upheld by Him. He is such a powerful and wonderful God! And with all this, His desire is to be one with man, even to be man’s life – to have an organic union with man. His heart’s desire is related to man…
Hi brother,
I was just wondering where this passage is from – is it in a book or message? Thanks!
Hello Phoebe, it's not a quote word-by-word, but it is something I enjoyed and then re-spoke. I have to see where it is from, what book… – it may be from the New Testament, the notes, and my enjoyment 🙂
