God’s economical Spirit of power is for us to receive to preach the gospel (2011 WST)

January 15, 2012 by Christian Student 4 Comments

God's economical Spirit of power is for us to receive to preach the gospel (2011 WST)At the 2011 Winter School of Truth I enjoyed the point about the economical aspect of the Spirit. This aspect is God’s economical Spirit of Power!

Since we are a speaking people, God gave us such a Spirit for us to have the power in order to be able to speak God, speak forth Christ, and to speak for Christ.

This is “the wind” of power in Acts 2. We have this Spirit to speak on every occasion. Acts 1:8 says,

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Praise the Lord that when we feel weak or powerless, we can call on the Lord’s name and have this Spirit to strengthen our inner man so that we can preach the gospel! Without being in spirit, we cannot preach the gospel because we would be doing this in our self, not in the spirit. Thus, we need to call upon His name and have Him flow into us whenever we want to prophesy, preach the gospel, or to even talk!

I also enjoyed the part about denying our soul life. We must turn to our spirit every moment of our lives, because the mind set on the spirit is life and peace (Rom. 8:6)! We need our spirit to be in the lead and our soul and body to be the organs.

We should not invest in the world at all. Whenever we invest in a company, we invest in a company that we think is going to do very well.

In our situation, we KNOW that God will win, and that Satan will lose – the Bible tells us so! We need to “invest in God” by turning to our spirit all the time, because investing in the world will have no profit, no gain.

We need to be the corporate Gideon, who blew the trumpet, shattered the pitcher, and held up the torch. Shattering our face is so important because our “reputation” and our “face” is what is holding us back from preaching the gospel. Who cares if you lose face? This is nothing compared to the reward we will receive during the wedding feast!

Oh Lord Jesus, save me from this world, save me from my situation! I want to live a life for You, to bear much fruit and express only You!

[sharing by brother M.G. (NL) from his top enjoyment in the recent Winter School of truth in London, UK. O, Lord, cause us to see the reward and learn to exercise our spirit today! Make us the Gideon of today! Amen! Read more testimonies from the 2011 Winter School of Truth, or send us your own sharing by emailing it to us at [email protected]]

This is very precious and veeery practical: "we need to call upon His name and have Him flow into us whenever we want to prophesy, preach the gospel, or to even talk!"

and I love it:

Amen! We need to be the Gideon of today – those who don't care for their face (they shutter the pitchers), but blow the trumpet (by preaching the gospel) and hold up the torch (hold forth the word of truth)! Lord, gain Gideon and his companions today! Make us those!
