This training made me realise that our God is a person who is so full of love, so deep and rich in what He is, and accessible for us to experience.
My prayer is that I would be able to enter into such a deep experience of the Lord day by day. I don’t want to miss His presence and I want to know Him personally.
I don’t want to be like the Athenians in Acts 17, worshipping “an unknown God”. Rather, gaining a full experiential knowledge of Him, who is truth.
Sometimes, we have knowledge of this Jesus “second hand”. We can see this is the case in Acts 19:11-20. The sons of Sceva try to deal with an evil spirit, “adjure you by the Jesus whom Paul preaches”. This kind of declaration has no power.
“And the evil spirit answered and said to them, Jesus I know, and with Paul, I am acquainted; but who are you?”
We need the Lord Jesus to be magnified in us! When we touch the word, He grows in us and prevails over all things. This is the kind of living we should have today, not a recycled experience but a fresh, daily contact with the Lord that becomes our very constitution.
This hymn touched me, we can pray this back to the Lord:
