We need to flee youthful lusts and pursue Christ with those who call on the name of the Lord out of a pure heart; we all should be those who call on the name of the Lord out of a pure heart today. Amen!
As believers in Christ, we want to be a vessel unto honour, a vessel useful to the Lord for His purpose today.
For this, we need to pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace; we need to pursue Christ as the reality of righteousness, faith, love, and peace.
In our Christian life, we need to pursue the experience of Christ and the enjoyment of Christ.
First, we pursue Christ as righteousness, realizing that our experience of Christ rests on the foundation of God’s righteousness.
Our experience of Christ doesn’t rest on our merit or our own righteousness; it rests completely on Christ as our righteousness.
We need to pursue Christ as our faith; faith originates with Him, and He generates faith in us.
Day by day we need to come to the Lord in His word to be with Him, receive Him, be infused with Him, and have a believing ability.
It is by faith that we are born of God to be His sons, and it is by faith that we can partake of Christ’s life and nature to express Him.
We need to pursue Christ as love; He is God Himself expressed, and God is love.
God’s love has been manifested by the Lord’s coming to die for us.
When we see His dying love, we simply respond to Him in love.
We are touched by His love, we open to Him, and God pours out His love into our hearts for us to love Him and also to love others.
As we remain under the divine dispensing of God as love into us, we will become the same as God in His love, and we will love not only those who are lovable but all men, even as God loves all men.
May we abide in the Lord as love so that we may live a life in which we love others habitually with the love that is God Himself! Amen!
We need to pursue Christ as peace; He is our peace, He gives us peace, and He became peace in us and around us.
In the world today we have problems, trials, and tribulations, but in the Lord we have peace.
He left us His peace, which is He Himself as our peace.
Our God is a God of peace, and He will soon crush Satan under our feet.
What a God we have! His peace guards our hearts, even patrolling before our hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus.
Even more, He made peace between us and God and between us and the others!
Now there’s peace in the Body of Christ and there’s peace between us and God. Hallelujah!
All Genuine Seekers of the Lord Call on the Name of the Lord in both the Old and New Testament
We are thankful to the Lord for unveiling us to see that we can call on the name of the Lord today to enjoy all His riches.
This practice of calling on the Lord is not a new practice in the New Testament; rather, it began with the second generation of mankind, with Enosh in Gen. 4:26.
Enosh means frail and mortal; he must have realized that he is frail and mortal, so he called on the name of Jehovah.
Job also called on the Lord (Job 12:4; 27:10), and so did Abraham (Gen. 12:8; 13:4; 21:33), Isaac (26:25), Moses and the children of Israel (Deut. 4:7), Samson (Judg. 15:18; 16:28), Samuel (1 Sam. 12:18; Psa. 99:6), David (2 Sam. 22:4, 7), the psalmist Asaph (Psa. 80:18), the psalmist Heman (88:9), Elijah (1 Kings 18:24), Isaiah (Isa. 12:4), Jeremiah (Lam. 3:55, 57), and others (Psa. 99:6).
All these genuine seekers of the Lord called on the name of the Lord, each one in their lifetime, and they enjoyed the Lord’s presence being with them.
Some were in distress while others had many hardships, so they called on the name of the Lord.
In his book, Isaiah charges the seekers of the Lord to call upon Him (Isa. 55:6).
Even the Gentiles knew that the prophets of Israel had the habit of calling on the name of the Lord (Jonah 1:6; 2 Kings 5:11).
To call on the name of the Lord is God’s commandment (Psa. 50:15; Jer. 29:12) and it is also His desire (Psa. 91:15; Zeph. 3:9; Zech. 13:9).
When we call on the name of the Lord, we delight ourselves in God (Job 27:10) and we drink joyfully from the fountain of God’s salvation (Isa. 12:3-4).
We need to call on the name of the Lord daily (Psa. 88:9).
Joel the prophet spoke concerning this jubilant practice in Joel 2:32, and we enter into the New Testament jubilee by calling on the name of the Lord. Amen!
In the New Testament, we also see the matter of calling on the name of the Lord, starting from Acts 2:21 where Peter mentioned Joel’s prophecy and said that this was fulfilled in those days. Hallelujah!
Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved! On the day of Pentecost, there was the fulfilment of Joel’s prophecy, for whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
The Lord Jesus came as God incarnated and became the life-giving Spirit, and as the Spirit, He has been breathed out and poured upon His people; all they need to do is call on the name of the Lord.
Today we believers in Christ can call on the name of the Lord to enjoy all His riches.
We are those who call on the name of the Lord in every place (1 Cor. 1:2) to enjoy the processed Triune God and enjoy His full salvation (Rom. 10:10-13).
The early believers, the early disciples of Jesus, practiced calling on the name of the Lord Jesus so much that it became a distinctive matter concerning them.
The unbelievers, the ones around the Christians, especially the persecutors, knew that the followers of Jesus called on the name of the Lord.
Before he was converted and became Paul, Saul knew how to distinguish and imprison the disciples of Jesus: they were calling on the name of Jesus (Acts 9:14, 21).
When Stephen was persecuted and was even stoned to death, he called on the name of the Lord Jesus (7:59) and this really impressed Saul, one of those who persecuted him (vv. 58-60; 22:20).
Later, the unbelieving Saul persecuted those who called on the name of Jesus (9:14, 21), for he knew that they followed Jesus.
But praise the Lord, Saul was caught by the Lord and was converted to Christ, and he was baptized, calling on the name of the Lord – he himself became such a caller!
He continued to call on the name of the Lord and also charged Timothy to call on the name of the Lord and pursue Christ with those who call on His name (2 Tim. 2:22).
Both in the Old and the New Testament we see that the seekers of God, those who loved God and sought Him in love, were calling on the name of the Lord.
May we be such ones today.
Lord Jesus, we love You. We love to call on Your name. O Lord Jesus! Keep us calling on Your name to enjoy all Your riches! We want to be saved continually by calling on Your name! Lord, amen, save us! We want to drink of the wells of salvation with rejoicing by calling on the name of the Lord! Amen, Lord, we want to call on Your name in every place and at every time! Recover the jubilant practice of calling on the name of the Lord among us. May we be those who love You, pursue after You, and seek You by calling on the name of the Lord today! Hallelujah, the Lord is near to us whenever we call on Him! Praise the Lord, we are saved when we call on the name of the Lord! Amen, Lord, we need to be saved! Save us much more in Your life by our calling on Your name. Save us from not calling on Your name in every place and at every time! Oh Lord Jesus, make us those who call on Your name in all the details of our daily living! We love You, Lord, and we love to call on Your name!
Being those who Call on the Name of the Lord to be Saved and Enjoy His Riches Daily
Both the Old and the New Testament reveal that the loving seekers of God called on His name.
In the Old Testament, the loving seekers of God called on the name of Jehovah, and they enjoyed His presence.
In the New Testament, the early believers called on the name of the Lord, and they pursued Christ with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
This jubilant and enjoyable practice, however, has been lost and even criticized today. All the believers in Christ should be those who call on the name of the Lord.
When we preach the gospel, we need to help them to call on the name of the Lord.
We need to encourage those who listen to say, O Lord Jesus!
Actually, the stronger and deeper someone calls on the name of the Lord, the more he will be saved.
The more we call on the name of the Lord, the more we experience His salvation.
May the Lord recover among us the matter of calling on the name of the Lord.
Though some believers may neglect this or criticize it and oppose it, we need to call on the name of the Lord Jesus at all time.

When we call the name of Jesus, we get the person of that name.
When we call on the name of the Lord, He as a living person is with us and He supplies us with everything we need.
No other name is as life-giving and powerful as the name of the Lord.
When we are down and out, when we feel defeated, we can call on the name of the Lord, and He will be with us, uplift us, and bring us into His victory.
When we are oppressed and depressed, we can call on the name of the Lord, and He will be with us where we are, He will supply us, and in Him, we will obtain the victory.
Even when we are in the lowest pit, in a place where we think no one can help us and we are about to perish, we need to call on the name of the Lord, and the Lord will listen to our breathing and our cry (Lam. 3:55, 57).
When we are about to share something in a meeting and we are not sure how to start when we’re about to share something about the Lord to others and we don’t know what to say, we can call on the name of the Lord and He will have a way to fill us and flow through us.
May we enjoy the wonderful benefits of calling on the name of the Lord.
We can call on His name when we’re in the shower and when we’re brushing our teeth.
We can call on the Lord’s name when we’re using the toilet to take a little break from the stressful day at the office.
Wherever we are, whatever we do, and whatever our condition is, we can and should call on the name of the Lord. And we need to do this not just personally but also corporately, together with the saints.
The saints in the church life are those who call on the Lord’s name in every place.
