Faith is to Believe that God is and we are Not; we live in an Organic Union with Him

Heb. 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to Him, for he who comes forward to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

It is indeed wonderful, relieving, and liberating to realize that faith does not originate from us: we cannot manufacture faith, we are not supposed to “try our best to believe”, but we simply need to open to the Lord and spend time with Him in His word, and there will be a reaction in us to His attraction – which is faith! Hallelujah!

We began our Christian life by the hearing of the faith: we heard the gospel, we were attracted to this wonderful Person who not only loved us but also died for us so that He may redeem us back to Himself and give Himself to us to be our everything, and now throughout our Christian life we need to put ourselves under the hearing of the faith to be infused with Him as our faith again and again.

All believers in Christ need to learn the secret of transforming the written word of God (the Bible) which contains the living word of God (Christ Himself) into the applied word of God (the Spirit).

How can the words written on the pages of the Bible become something living and applied to us, generating faith in us by infusing Christ into us? It is by turning our heart to the Lord and exercising our spirit when we come to the word of God; when we just open to the Lord, Christ as the living word of God contained in the Bible is infused into us to become the Spirit, the applied word of God, producing faith in our being.

Instead of praying, Lord, increase my faith, it is more practical for us to pray, Lord, appear to me and increase my appreciation of You day by day! When we see the Lord, our appreciation for Him increases, we love Him much more, and we react to Him in His word simply by believing into Him!

Such a reaction to the Lord’s attraction is faith; faith brings us into an organic union with the Lord where we enjoy all that He is and He becomes everything to us. How wonderful! Again and again, all throughout the day, we need to exercise our spirit, turn our heart to the Lord, and allow the Lord to shine on us, appear to us, and speak to us, and faith in us will increase, thus bringing us into a deeper organic union with the Lord.

Lord, increase our appreciation of You! Increase our faith by keeping us in Your appearing, under Your shining, and receiving Your speaking. We want to place ourselves under the hearing of faith, being in Your word every day to receive Your supply, appreciate You more, and have a deeper organic union with You. Oh Lord, You are our everything. We give You the first place in all things by faith: You are everything to us, and we are joined to You organically in spirit by faith!

Faith is to Believe that God is and we are Not: He is the ONLY ONE, and we are Nothing!

Faith is to believe that God is and we are not; He must be the only One, the unique One, in everything, and we must be nothing in everything (Heb. 11:1, 5-6). Witness LeeWhat is faith? Faith is to believe that God is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him; faith is to believe that God is and we are not (see Heb. 11:1, 5-6). To believe is not merely to agree with something or to receive a fact; our believing is not a result of a miracle that God did for us or because He does a lot of things for us.

When the Lord was on the cross, many people told Him to come down from the cross and they will believe into Him….people want to find a basis for their miracle: they ask for a miracle from God, and they will believe in Him. But the Lord didn’t come down from the cross for others to believe in Him – praise the Lord He didn’t!

Faith is to believe that God is. If God something, He is; if He doesn’t do anything to prove who He is, He still is. We don’t need a scientific fact to prove that God exists; our faith is based on the fact that God is. The queen is NOT, the presidents are NOT, and all these “stars” people uphold today are not – only God is. He is the great I AM.

Whether He does something to bless us or not, whether He heals us when we’re sick or not, and whether He makes us rich or we don’t have too many things – God is. In this universe there’s such a One whose name is I AM. Real believing is to believe that He is and we are not.

This is why, right after we believe into the Lord, we need to be baptised – we need to declare that we are NOT, we are good for nothing except death and burial, and we need to be terminated; when we rise up in resurrection from the waters of baptism, we declare that we are not – Christ is! Amen!

Without faith it is impossible to please God; to please God and make God happy we simply need to believe that He is (Heb 11:6)! What is faith? Faith is simply to stop ourselves from doing anything and come to the Lord and be joined to Him organically, realising that we are NOT and that He is. Through faith we are joined to the Lord as one spirit, and it is no longer us but Christ who lives (Gal. 2:20).

As a husband, we are not the one who loves the wife – it is Christ that should be living in us to love our wife. IN everything we need to realize:

I am not, but Christ is. I live in the flesh, but the life I live is in faith, in the organic union with Christ, so that it is Christ who lives in me. I do not exist: Christ is in me, He lives in me, and He should be expressed in me. I am nothing, but Christ is everything; in everything I am nothing, and in everything He is!

When we meet with the saints, we may not want to share anything with them – or we may have a lot to share from what we enjoyed of Christ, but we should simply tell the Lord, Lord, I don’t want to speak unless You speak; may my speaking be Your speaking, and my living be Your living. It is good to have such intimate conversations with the Lord, telling Him,

Lord, we believe that You are and we are not! You are the One living in us, and the life we live in the flesh we live in faith, in the organic union with You! Lord, You should be the One doing things in us and through us, and You should be the One speaking in us. We believe that we are not but You are! Hallelujah, our God is the great I AM – He is, and we are not! Whether You do something to heal us, cause us to prosper, or save us from troubles, we believe that You are and we are not!

As Believers we Live by Faith and Infuse Christ as Faith into Others

2 Cor. 4:13 And having the same spirit of faith according to that which is written, "I believed, therefore I spoke," we also believe, therefore we also speak. As believers in Christ, we should live a life by faith and exercise our spirit of faith to infuse Christ as faith into others (see 2 Cor. 4:13; Rom. 10:14-17; Acts 26:22-29). Our faith is linked to our spirit: our spirit is a spirit of faith. Our mind is a country of doubts, questionings, and quarreling, but our spirit is a spirit of faith.

When we are in the mingled spirit, the Spirit of God mingles with our spirit, and we know that God is, we are not, and He is everything to us. We need to use our spirit of faith and live by faith, and we will be brought into an organic relationship with Christ. When we exercise our spirit of faith to infuse Christ as faith into others, they are brought into an organic relationship with Christ for His purpose.

As believers into Christ, we are the branches in Christ as the vine and the cultivated olive tree (see Rom. 11:17, 24; John 15:1-8). We were branches of the wild olive tree, but we were grafted into Christ through believing into Him so that we may be in an organic union with Him. As we abide in the Lord as the vine, all the riches of Christ are being infused and transfused into us, and we bear fruit for the glory of the Father.

As believers in Christ, we are the members of the Body of Christ and Christ is our Head (1 Cor. 12:12, 27). Hallelujah, the Body of Christ is Christ Himself: He is the Head, He is the Body, and we are members of His Body.

As believers in Christ, we are organically joined to Him, and He is the breath of life, the water of life, and the bread of life, and we are His breathers, drinkers, and eaters (see John 20:22; 4:10, 14; 7:37-39a; 6:35, 51-63, 68). In this organic union with the Lord we can breathe Him in, we can eat Him, and we can drink Him; He is our daily life supply by faith.

In the organic union with Christ, He is the Bridegroom and we are His bride (John 3:29-30; 2 Cor. 11:2-3). We are His increase, His reproduction, the bride built out of His side with the resurrection life, and Christ is our Bridegroom; we are organically joined to Him to the point that, at the end of Revelation, we will be one with Him to say, Come and drink! Hallelujah!

Lord, we want to exercise our spirit of faith, live by faith, and infuse Christ as faith into others so that they may also be brought into an organic relationship with Christ. You are the vine and we are the branches: we want to abide in You, remain in the organic union with You to receive Your rich supply and bear fruit for the Father’s glory. You are the Head and we are the many members of the Body, growing up into You and functioning out from You for the building up. Lord, You are the bread of life, the water of life, and the breath of life, and we are Your breathers, drinkers, and eaters! Hallelujah, You are the Bridegroom and we are Your bride!

Faith is the Subjective God Applied to our being, Causing us to be His Overcoming Sent Ones

Faith is the subjective God applied to our being; thus, just as nothing is impossible to God, nothing is impossible to faith (Matt. 17:20; 19:26). Witness Lee

Faith is not a thing: faith is the subjective God applied to our being; thus, just as nothing is impossible to God, so nothing is impossible to faith (see Matt. 17:20; 19:26). Faith is for us to deny ourselves: we are NOT, but God IS; also, faith is the subjective God applied to our being.

Faith is just God Himself, the subjective God applied to us; faith is not based on how strong or weak you are, how zealous or powerless you are – faith is God infused into us and being applied to us to become the faith. Therefore, since God is omnipotent and can do everything, so nothing is impossible to faith!

To God all things are possible, and so to those who believe all things are possible, because this faith is the subjective God applied to our being as believers. Hallelujah!

The great irrepressible and unlimited power of faith motivates thousands to suffer for the Lord, risk their lives, and become overcoming sent ones and martyrs to spread the gospel of God’s eternal economy unto the uttermost part of the earth. Witness LeeThe great irrepressible and unlimited power of faith throughout the ages and all over the earth has motivated thousands to suffer for the Lord, risking their lives, and become overcoming sent ones and martyrs to spread the gospel of God’s eternal economy unto the uttermost part of the earth (see Luke 18:8; Rom. 16:3-4; Acts 20:24; 1 Tim. 1:4, 11-12; Matt. 24:14; Acts 1:8).

Our gospel is solid, firm, and strong; the structure of the gospel is the righteousness of God judicially, the life of Christ organically, and the faith of the believers practically.

As believers in Christ, we have been entrusted with the gospel, and we can become the overcoming sent ones not because we are zealous, absolute, or strong, but because we allow the Author and Perfecter of our faith to be infused into us to become our strength.

Our testimony as believers in Christ sent with the gospel is, I can’t do this but He cane; we believe that He is and we are not, and therefore we follow Him! Amen!

May we be today the believers who cooperate with the commission of the gospel to preach the gospel of the kingdom throughout the earth for a testimony to all the nations so that the Lord would return soon!

Lord Jesus, thank You for coming into us to bring and apply the subjective God into our being as faith. Hallelujah, we now believe because the subjective God has been applied to our being, and just as nothing is impossible to God, so nothing is impossible to our faith! Lord, we go out to preach the gospel in Your name and with Your authority. We are nothing, but You are everything to us and in us. Oh, may this gospel of the kingdom be preached to the whole inhabited earth for a testimony through many believers who are organically joined to the Lord!

Only God is all-able, omnipotent; nothing is impossible to Him (Matt. 19:26). But the Lord also indicates that nothing is impossible to faith. So this indicates faith and God, God and faith, are one. If you do not have God, God remains apart from you. If you have God in you, this God becomes faith. Faith is the subjective God applied to your being. Thus, just as nothing is impossible to God, nothing is impossible to faith.

This faith brings us into the life union with Christ, who is the embodiment of God realized as the all-inclusive Spirit. Faith links us with the Triune God. (Witness Lee, Crystallization-study of the Epistle to the Romans, p. 88)
