To enter the Enjoyment of the All-inclusive Christ we must be in the Light today

And this is the message which we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. 1 John 1:5

The purpose of God’s calling is to bring us, God’s chosen people, into the enjoyment of the all-inclusive Christ typified by the good land flowing with milk and honey; we are called to feast on Christ in the light, in God Himself as light.

Hallelujah, Christ is our feast! Praise the Lord, today we can come and feast on the Lord whenever we turn to our spirit and also when we come to the meetings of the church! Amen, Lord, we want to enjoy You as the all-inclusive One today!

We all need to be brought back to the enjoyment of Christ. When we enjoy Christ as the all-inclusive One, the preeminent One, we become His Body, and we build up the church as the house of God and the kingdom of God.

We need to not only understand and mentally apprehend what the Lord Jesus is to us; we need to exercise our spirit and partake of the riches of Christ in spirit. Christ is the tree of life. He is not just knowledge.

We don’t just know Christ or know about Christ, nor do we just know what Christ does and what He will do.

Rather, we exercise our spirit to go beyond knowing Christ in our mind to experiencing Christ in our spirit and even more, enjoying Him in our soul so that we may express Him.

As we are being prepared these days to be the bride of Christ, entering into the reality of the Body of Christ, we need to enjoy Christ much, much more.

It’s not sufficient to have just a little enjoyment of Christ. It is not sufficient for us to only obtain some spiritual nourishment in the morning in our time with Him.

If we don’t enjoy Christ sufficiently, every little thing will bother us. Those around us, the circumstances, the things, and the matters around us will bother us and make us upset, for we are never content until we enjoy Christ sufficiently.

Sometimes all you have to do is look at someone’s face and you see how discontent they are; because they do not enjoy Christ, they are not content.

We may even come to a meeting and we may not like the way the chairs in the meetings are arranged, so we are not happy.

But when we enjoy Christ, when we enter into our mingled spirit and partake of the unsearchable riches of Christ, we will be filled with Christ and His enjoyment, His grace, will reign in us.

May we be those who enjoy the unsearchable riches of Christ today so that we may be built up to be His Body as the house of God and the kingdom of God!

The Purpose of God’s Calling is to Bring us into the Enjoyment of the All-inclusive Christ typified by the Good Land Flowing with Milk and Honey

And I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land to a good and spacious land, to a land flowing with milk and honey... Exo. 3:8

As seen both in the Old and in the New Testament, the purpose of God’s calling is to bring us, the chosen people of God, into the enjoyment of the all-inclusive Christ typified by the good land flowing with milk and honey (Exo. 3:8; cf. 1 Cor. 1:9).

In the Old Testament the purpose of God’s calling of Abraham and later of the people of Israel was to bring them into the good land; He wants His people to be in the good land to enjoy its riches to be built up as God’s house and bring in His kingdom.

God appeared to Moses and told him that He wanted to bring His people out of Egypt and into a good land flowing with milk and honey, a good and spacious land.

And He has brought us to this place and has given us this land, a land flowing with milk and honey. Deut. 26:9 ...Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! John 1:29 Truly, truly, I say to you, Unless the grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies... John 12:24The way God described this land is that it is a land flowing with milk and honey; these two elements seem to have a particular significance in God’s eyes.

What do milk and honey represent or typify? Milk and honey, which are the mingling of both the animal life and the vegetable life, are two aspects of the life of Christ – the redeeming aspect and the generating aspect (Deut. 8:8; 26:9; cf. John 1:29; 12:24).

Milk is not a product growing in nature nor is it an animal; rather, it is the produce of the cow (the animal life) eating grass (the vegetable life) to produce milk.

The same with honey; it is produced by bees collecting the nectar from the plants and producing honey. Very interesting.

The redeeming aspect of Christ’s life is for our judicial redemption, and the generating aspect of Christ’s life is for our organic salvation (John 1:29; 12:24; Rev. 2:7; Rom. 5:10).

Thank the Lord for His redemption. He died on the cross as the reality of the Lamb of God, being slain for us and shedding His blood of us, so that He may obtain an eternal redemption.

We are here because of this, because of the Lord’s redemption. Now by faith in His redeeming death we can be forgiven, cleansed, justified, and reconciled to God, judicially satisfying all of God’s righteous requirements.

This is all carried out by Christ in His redeeming work. But this is not God’s goal; we need to not only be redeemed but even more, be saved in His life.

On the judicial part, we need to be redeemed. On the organic side, we need to be saved in His life.

Christ not only died for us to accomplish redemption and satisfy God’s righteous requirements; He has become the life-giving Spirit to bring into us the very life of God!

Hallelujah, now Christ is the Spirit with our spirit and He is saving us much more in His life.

He reconciled us to God and now He’s in us organically saving us in the life of God to make us the same as Christ. Day by day we are in this process of being saved in the life of Christ; this organic process is still going on.

When we come to the Lord’s table meeting, we have the full realisation that we see these two aspects of Christ – His redemption and His organic salvation.

The symbols of the Lord’s table signify the redeeming and generating aspects of Christ’s life for God’s complete salvation.

This means that, when we come to the Lord’s table, we’re reminded of Christ being our feast, and we enjoy the all-inclusive Christ as a table, a feast for our enjoyment (Matt. 26:26-28; 1 Cor. 10:17).

Every Lord’s day morning when we come to have the Lord’s Table, we are brought into the enjoyment of the all-inclusive Christ as the good land. The good land has become a table for our feasting.

How encouraging and sweet is the Lord’s table for our feasting!

On this table we see the bread signifying the generating life of Christ and the wine in the cup signifying the judicial aspect of Christ’s salvation.

And as they were eating, Jesus took bread and blessed it, and He broke it and gave it to the disciples and said, Take, eat; this is My body. And He took a cup and gave thanks, and He gave it to them, saying, Drink of it, all of you, For this is My blood of the covenant, which is being poured out for many for forgiveness of sins. Matt. 26:26-28Hallelujah for this land of milk and honey, a land full of the redeeming aspect of Christ’s life and the generating aspect of His life!

We need both of these aspects to be brought into the full enjoyment of the all-inclusive Christ as typified by the good land flowing with milk and honey!

When we come to the Lord’s Table we need to be full of gratefulness and thanks to the Lord for His love, His dying for us, His drinking the cup of wrath for us.

We don’t come together just to sing and then partake of the symbols; rather, we are reminded of His death and His resurrection.

We have been redeemed, saved, cleansed, and forgiven. We are full of gratefulness to the Lord, thanking Him from our heart.

We appreciate the process He went through and we enjoy the divine life He has dispensed into us. When we have this realisation, our enjoyment of the all-inclusive Christ will be uplifted.

We don’t just carry on a kind of a routine; we are in the good land flowing with milk and honey and we enjoy the riches of Christ. We praise the Lord and we sing to Him because He is our full enjoyment!

Lord Jesus, bring us into the enjoyment of the all-inclusive Christ today! Hallelujah, the purpose of God’s calling is to bring us into the enjoyment of the all-inclusive Christ typified by the good land flowing with milk and honey! Amen, Lord, we open to You and we come to You to just enjoy You. Thank You for dying for us. Thank You for coming to die for us as the Lamb of God to redeem us. Hallelujah, we have been redeemed, and Christ reconciled us to God! Amen, Lord, we are grateful to You and we’re full of thanks for Your death for us on the cross. Thank You for dispensing Yourself into us as life to save us much more in Your life. Hallelujah, we are now being saved in the life of Christ to be renewed, transformed, and conformed to the image of Christ! Amen, Lord, we want to enjoy You as the reality of the good land flowing with milk and honey. We remember You at Your Table and we want to enter into the full enjoyment of the all-inclusive Christ together with all the saints!

We must Be in the Light to Enjoy the All-inclusive Christ as the Good Land

The opening of Your words gives light, / Imparting understanding to the simple. Psa. 119:130

Colossians 1:12 tells us that God has qualified us to partake of Christ, even to enter into the enjoyment of our allotted portion together with the saints in the light.

This expression, in the light, is very much overlooked. We need to be in the light in order to enjoy the all-inclusive Christ as the good land in His redeeming and generating aspects (Col. 1:12; 1 Pet. 2:9; Isa. 2:5).

Where is Christ our portion? In the light. How can we enjoy Christ as our allotted portion? In the light. From the very beginning, from Genesis 1, we see that God is light and He brings in light.

While I am in the world, I am the light of the world. John 9:5 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. John 1:4After the fall of Satan, God came in to restore the earth and do a further work of creation, and the first thing He did was to bring in light. Then He created the more definite light, the light bearers, such as the sun, the moon, and the stars.

First of all, God is light; when we touch God, we touch light. Light is God’s presence. God is light and in Him there’s no darkness at all.

We can’t say that we have fellowship with God yet remain in the darkness; that is a lie (1 John 1:7-9).

Through faith in Christ, we have been delivered out of the authority of darkness and transferred into the kingdom of the Son of God’s love (Col. 1:13).

Darkness was an authority holding us; in the darkness we can’t enjoy the all-inclusive Christ.

Satan uses everything, not just worldly things and entertainment but even spiritual things to hold us in darkness so that we are not in the light, where we can enter into the enjoyment of the all-inclusive Christ.

We may even be doing God’s work but still be in darkness. This is what Paul did before he was converted to Christ; he worked for God in darkness, until the Lord shone on him.

Today so many Christians think they are serving God, doing all kinds of good things for God, yet they are in darkness. If we are going to enjoy the allotted portion of the saints, we need to be in the light.

We need to be brought into the light. The Lord Jesus came as a great light shining in the darkness, and wherever He went, light was there.

The whole world is filled with people in darkness; when we heard the gospel for the first time, we felt the divine light shining.

When the word of God is spoken, light shines, and we touch God as light.

After our salvation, we need to realise that we need to come to God as light in His word and walk in the light!

The Bible tells us that God is light, and we also see that, because of God, Christ is light, the word of God is light, the life of Christ is light, the believers are light, and the church is light. Because God is their source, all these are light.

God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all (1 John 1:5). When we have God, we have light; when we’re one with God, we walk in the light.

Christ said that He is the light of the world; He was one with God and because of this, God as light shone through Him (John 8:12).

Furthermore, when we read and pray over the word of God, the word of God is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psa. 119:105).

The opening of God’s word gives us light (v. 130), for the word of God contains God. If the Bible didn’t contain God, the words in this book could not enlighten us. But because God is the source of the Bible, the words of the Bible are the shining of light.

We need to come to the Lord in His word to receive God’s shining.

The Lord Jesus came as the light of the world (John 9:5); He is now in us, and He shines not only on us but also within us. He came to be the light in society, in the world, among the people in mankind. Praise the Lord!

His life, the life of Christ, is also light (John 1:4). When we receive the life of Christ, when we call on the Lord and receive Christ as life, His life becomes light in us.

We now have the Lord shining in us because we have the divine life in us.

Because we have Christ as life in us and His life is light, we believers in Christ are also the light. The Lord Jesus said that we are the light of the world (Matt. 5:14).

Paul further said that we believers shine as luminaries in the world (Phil. 2:15).

We don’t have light in ourselves but we reflect the light, for we have Christ as light in us and He shines through us.

You are the light of the world. It is impossible for a city situated upon a mountain to be hidden. Matt. 5:14 The mystery of the seven stars which you saw upon My right hand and the seven golden lampstands: The seven stars are the messengers of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches. Rev. 1:20Thank the Lord that He has made us light in the Lord! He is the source of light, and we just express Him and reflect Him.

When we call on the name of the Lord, light rises in us. But when we turn to other things, when we allow other things to occupy us and possess us, darkness reigns in us.

May we realise that we need to walk in the light and be in the light in order for us to enter the enjoyment of the all-inclusive Christ today.

Revelation 1:20 tells us that the church is a lampstand, holding and supporting God in Christ as the light. The lamp is Christ with God in Him as light (21:23).

May we remain in the light today. May we ask the Lord to keep us in the light, for in His light we see light. We cannot grow without Him as the light shining in us.

We cannot express Him without being in the light. We cannot enjoy the all-inclusive Christ if we are not in the light.

Lord Jesus, may we be in the light today so that we may enter into the enjoyment of the all-inclusive Christ as the reality of the good land flowing with milk and honey! Hallelujah, God is light and in Him there’s no darkness at all! Praise the Lord, Christ came as the light of the world! Amen, Lord, thank You for coming into us as life, and Your life is light! We come to Your word today; open up Your word so that we may receive light. May Your word be a light to our feet and a lamp to our path. Amen, Lord, shine in us and shine on us. Shine through us. Fill us with Your light and keep us in the light. Save us from being in darkness. Expose and remove any darkness in our being. May we hold forth Christ to be luminaries in the world, shining with God as light! Hallelujah, the church is the golden lampstand, holding forth God in Christ as the light to shine to all those around! Amen, Lord, keep us in the light today. May we walk in the light even as God is in the light!

Whenever we come to the Lord’s table to enjoy Christ as the all-inclusive One, in our experience we are in the good land enjoying the riches of the land. This means that the good land has become a table, a feast, for our enjoyment. At this table, this feast, we are satisfied, and God is satisfied also. If we see this, we will realize that to enter into the good land is to come to the Lord’s table. The table is a feast for our enjoyment…It is crucial for us to understand that to come to the table is to enjoy Christ as the good land.

For us to enjoy the all-inclusive Christ as the reality of the good land flowing with milk and honey, we need to be in the light.

God is light, Christ is light, His word is light, and His life in us is light.

We are the light of the world, and the church is a golden lampstand. May we walk in the light today so that we may enjoy Christ!

Lord Jesus, keep us in the light. Shine in us. Shine through us. We want to enter into the enjoyment of the all-inclusive Christ today in the light!

It is God Himself who described the land as flowing with milk and honey – signifying the riches of Christ which come from the two aspects of His life: His judicial redeeming life, typified by the animal life, (John 1:29), and His organic generating life, typified by the vegetable life (12:24).

The all-inclusive Christ is exceedingly rich for our enjoyment! The good land has thus become the table of feast.

Therefore, to come to the Lord’s day table is to come to enjoy Christ as the good land. We need both aspects to experience God’s full shd be thankful to the Lord for shedding His blood for us as sinners, saved by grace for His organic salvation daily.

In darkness, Satan has a hold on the whole world. For us, to enjoy the allotted portion as saint’s, we need to be in the light for God is light. If we want to advance and grow in the life of God, we need to pray:

Lord, save me from any darkness! We cannot have fellowship with God if we’re in darkness.

Light functions (1) to bring life (2) shining, (3) separates from darkness, (4) a sign for new seasons for days and years, (5) light rules, and rules us, no arguments. When light is absent in us, we have to repent before God, no arguments.

Just as God is light, His word is also light, Christ is light, the life of Christ is light, the believers are light, and the church is a lampstand shining with light.

Amen, Lord, keep us in Your light!

Brother, we need to see that God has given us an allotted portion of Christ in the light

In order for us to enjoy this portion we need to come to the light.

Christ is light. We see that in John God is light – we see that in 1 John, and the word is light we see that in Psalms. So in our daily we need to come Christ as the light, enjoy his word as the light as well.

This is how we enjoy Christ as our portion

Yes, we believers are luminaries and have received His life to shine and reflect the light. Because “His life was the light of men.” (John 1:4)

  • God is the source of life and light,
  • God’s word is life and light. (because it contains God)
  • Jesus Christ is life and light. (because God and Christ are one)
  • When we, the church, receive Christ as life, this life becomes light in us.

The reality of the good land, Christ, is our portion to labour and enjoy His rich supply.

Praise the Lord for His provision of the good land full of honey and milk produced from the animal & vegetable kingdoms, which typified His judicial redemption and organic salvation, respectively, for our full salvation.

We praise you Lord, even if we aren’t able to understand you fully. Amen.

Amen. We need to be in the light.

We could even be doing a work or reading our Bible in darkness.

Oh Lord Jesus! Keep us turning to you, experiencing you as the light.

Amen, Christ is our portion to be enjoyed as light.

Christ is light in a definite way as the light of society and mankind.

The life of Christ is light when we receive that which shines in us from within.

We ourselves have no light; He alone is the source.

Lord Jesus light the path for us today, may we follow You today and not walk in darkness. Amen, keep us in the light Lord Jesus

We see this morning that Christ is exceedingly rich for our enjoyment.

When we experience & enjoy our rich Christ, we are satisfied and God is satisfied.

To come to the Table each Lord’s Day is to enjoy Christ as the good land.

The Word, Christ, the Spirit, the life of Christ, our fellow believers and the church can all be the light that enables us to enjoy Christ as our allotted portion.

All these things are light because they contain God.

The source of light isn’t ourselves; it’s Christ as the Spirit. In the whole universe, the Triune God is the unique light.

The land, as a type, is good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey, showing to us that the all-inclusive Christ is exceedingly rich for our enjoyment.

Milk and honey signify the riches of Christ, which come from the two aspects of His life.

But we need to pay attention to the word light. Christ, our portion, is to be enjoyed by us in the light.

God is light. He alone is the source of light. The Word of God, Christ, the life of Christ, the believers, and the church can all be light because they have God as their source.

Lord shine on us and shine in us today. We desire to enjoy You today in and through You shining. Bring our being in the light for us to enjoy Your riches

1 John 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and are not practicing the truth;
1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from every sin.

Here, “light” mainly concerns our daily living: light makes things manifest. Since we have been born as children of light, we should also walk as children of light. “this walking in the light, as He is in the light, is no mere imitation of God, but is an identity in the essential element of our daily walk with the essential element of God’s eternal being: not imitation, but coincidence and identity of the very atmosphere of life” (Alford).

If we are to enjoy the All-Inclusive Christ in His judicial redemption and organic salvation, in His redeeming us and generating with His life as the reality of the good land at the Lord’s table, we must be in the light!

What a blessing and mercy that God chose us and called us to enjoy Christ as our portion, the reality of the land flowing with milk and honey to be enjoyed by us in the light!
