Enjoy, Apply and Live Christ, being Filled with the Full Knowledge of God’s Will

...you may be filled with the full knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding. Col. 1:9

We need to be filled with the full knowledge of God’s will to know that God’s will is for us is that we know Christ, experience Him, live Him, and have Him as our everything, so that we may walk worthily of the Lord, having a walk in which we live Christ. Amen!

May the Lord save us from being aimless Christians.

May we be rescued from living a Christian life that has no goal.

So many Christians today just live a daily life trying to please God, and they do many good things thinking that this will be something that God is satisfied with, waiting for the Lord to come back and rapture them.

But we as believers in Christ need to be filled with the full knowledge of God’s will.

We need to realize that our God has a purpose, and in His purpose, He desires to gain the church as the Body of Christ to express Him and represent Him.

The church is a corporate entity composed of all believers in Christ who are being headed up in Christ.

The church as the Body of Christ is the unique means used by God to fulfill His purpose and settle all His problems.

On the positive side, the church expresses God, for all the believers in Christ are filled with Christ and constituted with Him so that they manifest God to the entire universe.

On the negative side, the church deals with God’s enemy, proclaiming the victory of Christ and standing in this victory to crush the enemy in the name of the overcoming Christ. Amen!

On the positive side, we believers in Christ are the sons of God growing in life unto maturity to obtain the full sonship and be for the glory of God the Father.

What a glorious destiny we have!

On the negative side, we believers in Christ are part of the church as the army of God to fight for the interest of God, cast out Satan, destroy his evil works, and bring in the kingdom of God.

Praise the Lord for the church as the Body of Christ!

May we see that this is the will of God, and may we live a life for the fulfilment of God’s eternal purpose so that we may know and do the will of God.

Just as we human beings have a heart’s desire, something that makes us happy, and we have a will, so God, who created us in His image and according to His likeness, has a will and a heart’s desire.

When God obtains what is on His heart and we are part of the fulfilment of God’s eternal purpose, God is satisfied and we are satisfied, for when God is satisfied, we also are satisfied. Amen!

In His desire and will, God is mingling Himself with us for the fulfillment of His eternal purpose, so that He may gain the Body of Christ to be His fullness, His expression. Hallelujah!

We need to be Filled with the Full Knowledge of God’s Will and Enjoy, Experience, and Apply Christ

...This is My Son, the Beloved, in whom I have found My delight. Hear Him! Matt. 17:5

Col. 1:9 expresses Paul’s prayer for the believers in Colosse, that they would be filled with the full knowledge of God’s will.

He and the ones with him did not cease praying and asking on behalf of the saints that they would be filled with the full knowledge of God’s will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that they may walk worthily of the Lord to please Him in all things, bearing fruit in every good work and growing by the full knowledge of God. Amen!

What does it mean for us to be filled with the full knowledge of God’s will?

It is to have the revelation of God’s plan so that, through this revelation, we would know what God wants to do and what He plans to do in this universe.

Who is the image of the invisible God, the Firstborn of all creation, Because in Him all things were created, in the heavens and on the earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones or lordships or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through Him and unto Him. And He is before all things, and all things cohere in Him; And He is the Head of the Body, the church; He is the beginning, the Firstborn from the dead, that He Himself might have the first place in all things. Col. 1:15-18God’s will in Colossians is His will regarding His eternal purpose, regarding His economy concerning Christ (Eph. 1:5, 9, 11).

May we be those who have the full knowledge of God’s will so that we may be clear concerning God’s plan and we may know what God plans to do in the universe.

God’s plan is nothing else but to make Christ everything in the divine economy and to us (Matt. 17:5; Col. 1:15-18; 3:10-11).

God’s will is for Christ to be everything.

This means that, if we want to live a life for the fulfilment of God’s eternal purpose, we need to enjoy Christ, experience Christ, and take Christ as our everything in our daily life.

To be filled with the full knowledge of God’s will doesn’t mean that we come to the Word of God to gain more knowledge about what God wants to do; it is to spend time with the Lord and come to His word in fellowship with Him to receive a revelation.

We read the Bible not so that we may receive more doctrines and teachings but so that we may receive the revelation of Christ and the full knowledge of God’s will, that is, the full knowledge of God’s eternal plan.

The Bible is the unique and only divine revelation of God; it is inspired by God, and word by word was written by God through many writers.

When we read the Bible, a universal curtain is opened and a universal veil is put aside so that we may see what is in the mind of God and what does God plan to do in this universe.

God’s plan in this universe is to make His Son everything.

He wants Christ, His Son, to be everything to God and to man.

We need to spend time reading the Scriptures with such a view and expectation, not that we learn more doctrines and teachings but that we know Christ more and receive more of the full knowledge of God’s eternal plan.

First, we need to receive the knowledge of God’s plan; then, based on that knowledge, we walk worthily of the Lord (Col. 1:10).

When we know the will of God, when we’re filled with the full knowledge of God’s will, we will be able to walk worthily of the Lord.

What we see as a vision will affect and govern our daily living.

If we lack vision, our daily living will be aimless, and we will have no purpose in our Christian life.

But if we are filled with the full knowledge of God’s will, we will be directed, governed, and controlled in our daily living by the will of God.

We will open to the Lord day by day to take Him as our life and our everything, and in all things, we will seek to enjoy Christ, experience Him, and gain Him.

When Christ our life is manifested, then you also will be manifested with Him in glory. Col. 3:4 And let the peace of Christ arbitrate in your hearts, to which also you were called in one Body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another with psalms [and] hymns [and] spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to God. Col. 3:15-16According to His will, God caused all His fullness to dwell in Christ, giving Christ the first place in all things and causing Christ to be our life and our everything.

According to God’s will, we were crucified and buried with Christ, and we were raised with Him; furthermore, we have put off the old man, Adam, and put on the new man, Christ.

According to God’s will, we need to exercise to apply His death to the members of our body, let the peace of Christ arbitrate and govern in our hearts, and let His word dwell in us so that we express Him.

The will of God is related to Christ, focused on Christ, and has nothing but Christ in it; Christ needs to become our everything in our daily life and experience.

We need to possess Christ, experience Christ, and apply Him in all things.

This we do as a daily habit and practice as we are filled with the full knowledge of God’s will.

May we be such ones today. May we be filled with the full knowledge of God’s will and may we walk worthily of the Lord, seeking to enjoy and experience Christ in our daily life for the fulfilment of God’s eternal purpose.

Lord Jesus, we want to be filled with the full knowledge of God’s will. We open to You today. Unveil us to see what You desire to do in this universe. Cause us to realize what is the will of God and fill us with the full knowledge of Your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding. Open our understanding for us to apprehend what Your will is so that we may walk worthily of the Lord to please Him in all things. Amen, Lord, may we realize that God desires us to have Christ as our everything. We take You, Lord Jesus Christ, as our life and our person. Thank You for making us one with You. We put off the old man and we put on the new man, Christ. Amen, Lord, we exercise to apply Your death to the members of our body which are on the earth. We let the peace of Christ arbitrate in our hearts and we let the word of Christ dwell in us richly. Oh Lord, we take You as our life and our everything. Hallelujah, Christ is our life. Praise the Lord, Christ is everything in our daily living!

The Will of God is for us to Know the All-inclusive Christ, Experience Him, and Live Him as our Life

Therefore we also, since the day we heard of [it,] do not cease praying and asking on your behalf that you may be filled with the full knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, To walk worthily of the Lord to please [Him] in all things, bearing fruit in every good work and growing by the full knowledge of God. Col. 1:9-10Many Christians are wondering what is the will of God, and so many seekers of God consider and pray what is God’s will for their life.

We need to be filled with the full knowledge of God’s will.

We need to have the revelation of God’s plan so that we may have more experience of Christ (Col. 2:16-17; 3:4, 15-16).

What is the will of God for me? What is the will of God for us?

What is God’s will for us, believers in Christ?

According to the book of Colossians, the will of God for us is that we know the all-inclusive Christ, experience Him, and live Him as our life (Col. 1:9, 15-18; 3:4).

God wants His Christ, the all-inclusive and extensive One who is the centrality and universality of God’s economy, to become everything to us in our daily life and experience.

He wants the preeminent One, Christ, to be preeminent in us, having the first place in all things.

We may be like Peter on the Mount of Transfiguration, being so excited to see both Christ and the prophets and the law, and appreciating them in equal measure, but God’s desire is for us to only have Christ, enjoy Christ, and experience Christ so that we may live Christ for the corporate expression of God.

This is God’s will for us.

We need to be filled with the full knowledge of God’s will and therefore know the all-inclusive Christ, experience Him in our daily life, and live Him as our life.

The result of us knowing the will of God and therefore taking Christ as our life and living Christ is that we walk worthily of the Lord.

Walking worthily of the Lord issues from having the full knowledge of God’s will; such a walk is a walk in which we live Christ (1:10; Phil. 1:19-21).

When we take Christ as our life and our everything, when we’re filled with the full knowledge of God’s will and therefore enjoy Christ and experience Christ, we will live Christ.

If we would enter into the manifestation of the kingdom of the heavens in the coming age, we must do the will of our Father in this age (see Matt. 7:21-22; 6:10; 12:50; Rev. 4:11; Rom. 12:2; Eph. 1:5, 9, 11; 5:17; Col. 1:9; 4:12).

For I know that for me this will turn out to salvation through your petition and [the] bountiful supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, According to my earnest expectation and hope that in nothing I will be put to shame, but with all boldness, as always, even now Christ will be magnified in my body, whether through life or through death. For to me, to live is Christ... Phil. 1:19-21May we be those who see what the will of God is and do the will of God today.

And may we pray for three things: first, that we do the will of God, second, that the saints and the church express Christ as they experience Christ to do the will of God, and third that the whole recovery, all the saints in the local churches, would be an expression of Christ.

The only way that God can gain His genuine corporate expression is by all the saints doing the will of God by living Christ as a result of enjoying Christ, experiencing Christ, and taking Christ as their everything.

We need to pray for ourselves that the Lord would remind us daily to walk in Him, experience Him, and apply Him.

We need to pray for all the saints, even for all believers in Christ, that they would enjoy and experience Christ so that they express Christ for His manifestation.

And we need to pray for all the churches that the Lord would recover the knowledge and experience of His will among all His children.

This is what is in the Lord’s mind; He has an eternal will for Christ to be everything to us, and we can take Christ as our everything so that we may live Christ for the expression of God.

Lord Jesus, grant us to have a revelation of God’s plan so that we may have an open way for us to have more experience of Christ. Amen, Lord, may we be filled with the full knowledge of God’s will and live Christ! May we realize that God’s will for us is that we know the all-inclusive Christ, experience Him, and live Him as our life. Yes, Lord, we open to You today to take You as our life. We want to enjoy and experience the all-inclusive Christ today so that we may live Him out for God’s corporate expression. May we be those who walk worthily of the Lord as the result of having the full knowledge of God’s will! Amen, Lord, we want to enter into the manifestation of the kingdom of the heavens in the coming age by doing the will of our Father in this age. We pray for ourselves and for all the saints that we would be reminded daily to walk in Christ, experience Christ, and apply Christ in all things in our daily life. Amen, Lord, recover Your will among us so that the all-inclusive Christ may be our enjoyment, experience and living day by day!

I would ask you all to make a decision that by the grace of the Lord, you would pray every day for three things.

First, pray for yourself: “Lord, day by day remind me to walk in You, experience You, and apply You to everything in my daily life.”…We need to experience Christ and apply Him in such a way in our daily life…

Second, we need to pray for the saints, not only for those who are with us but also for those who are far away. Remember them and pray for them and for the whole church.

Third, pray that the Lord would recover the knowledge and experience of His will among all His children…Pray for yourself, for the churches, and for the recovery of His will concerning the all-inclusive Christ and His genuine expression. This is according to the Lord’s mind…The eternal will of God is that we would have Christ as everything to us. Then we will know God’s will, know what we are pursuing, and know how to pray for the whole church.

Moreover, we will know that God will recover the knowledge and experience of His eternal purpose, plan, and will in this age. We look to the Lord to burden us every day to pray for ourselves, for the saints, and for the recovery of this matter in these last days.

Every time we come to a crossroad, the best thing for us to do is to hold an unbiased heart. This means that our heart is balanced; we neither prefer nor hate any particular way. We consider all of the ways the same, and we take whatever way the Lord shows us. If we are not biased in our heart, it will be easy for the Lord to show us His will. Bigotry and unwillingness to obey are the greatest hindrances to knowing His will. Being unbiased does not mean being passive. It means being unbiased concerning the ways ahead of us. We have to exercise discernment with our will and choose His will. Being unbiased does not mean that there are no more likes and dislikes within us. It means that even though we are unclear about God’s will, we are not biased towards any way; but, at the same time, we have determined that we will do His will. As soon as we know His will, we will do it. Our own will should not dictate our likes and dislikes concerning the ways ahead of us. However, there should be a difference between what we want and what we do not want with respect to God’s will (even though it is not yet known) and our will. We must choose to “want” God’s will and choose to “not want” our own will. We should choose His will and remove our own will. Therefore, we are not without a will or choice. We do have a will and choice; our will and choice are to do His will. We are not void of desires. We do have desires; our desire is to want what the Lord wants.

Concerning this point, we can learn from the example of our beloved Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord’s will and the Father’s will were not one will; they were two wills. When we read the words, “Not as I will, but as You will” (Matt. 26:39), we realize that the Lord Jesus’ will and the Father’s will were two different things. There is clearly a distinction between “My own will” and “the will of Him who sent Me” (John 5:30). Although the Lord Jesus’ desire and the Father’s desire were two different wills that issued from two different channels, we see that our dear Lord’s will and the Father’s will never contradicted each other. Although the Lord Jesus had His own will, He dropped His own will to do the Father’s will. He placed His will on God’s side. He subjected His preferred will to the Father’s will. He did not do God’s will in a passive way. Rather, He voluntarily laid down His own will to do the Father’s will. He chose to “not want” His self-will and to “want” the Father’s will. His only will was to do the Father’s will. Originally, His will was different from the Father’s will. Yet He resolved to do the Father’s will with a will that was different from the Father’s will. Thus, His own will was to do the Father’s will. This is why the Father was pleased with Him all His life.

Briefly, the first step in seeking God’s will is to have neither a love nor a fear for the ways ahead of us (when one is not clear about the Lord’s will). At the same time, our hearts should adopt the attitude that we are ready to do God’s will. If we are willing to subject our will to God’s will, we have accomplished more than half of the work necessary to understand the Lord’s will. Most of our failures in knowing God’s will come at this point. The Lord reveals His will to those who are willing to do His will. As for those who are not willing to do His will, their seeking is a false seeking. His will can never be found by those who are seeking after Him in a false way. Therefore, if we have inclinations in our hearts, we should not speak of the Lord’s will so quickly. Instead, we should first trust in the Lord’s strength to deal with the desires of our hearts in a clear way. Then we can expect the Lord to show us His will. Otherwise, it will be useless even if we know and exhaust all the methods.

After our will is made subject to God, there is no barrier on our side to prevent God from showing us His will.

(Collected Works of Watchman Nee, The (Set 1) Vol. 02: The Word of the Cross, Chapter 5, by Watchman Nee)

Yes, brother!

To know God with His full knowledge means to know:

  1. > His eternal will, which is His heart’s desire toward His body,
  2. > His eternal purpose, plan, and eternal economy

This can be practiced through the revelation of His word, which is, in turn, life and light of men.

With this revelation of light, we can walk the walk of His walk in this wicked world.

Praise the Lord for His good will to know Him fully and walk His walk so that we can express Him boldly.

Amen! God wants that we gain full knowledge of the truth, and the Lord and His word is truth.

The more we learn about what God wills through scripture and prayer, the more we obey His will, the more we gain Christ.

In my experience, the day I’m not enjoying or seeking Christ are the less enjoyable days.

It isn’t that committing to the Lord is easy or always enjoyable, but a day where I didn’t enjoy Him feels worse, like a day where I’m not brushing my teeth or cleaning. I don’t feel right without Him, I feel empty, like a key part of my day is missing.

Lord Jesus, may You grow in us, may we learn and obey more of Your will, and may we express You every day as You express the Father.

08/01/24 God Calling Us according to His Own Purpose (Week 2, Day 4)

“In Order to Live for the Fulfillment of God’s Eternal Purpose, We Must (a.) Know and (b.) Do the Will of God” (Part 1) We Need to Be Filled with the Full Knowledge of God’s Will

Ephesians 1:9-10 says, “Making known to us the mystery of His will according to His good pleasure, which He purposed in Himself, Unto the economy of the fullness of the times, to head up all things in Christ, the things in the heavens and the things on the earth, in Him;”

These verses show us that, in today’s New Testament age, God has revealed to us, the church, the mystery of His will, which is, to head up all things in Christ. His will is according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself.

Colossians 1:9-10 then say, “Therefore we also, since the day we heard of it, do not cease praying and asking on your behalf that you may be filled with the full knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, to walk worthily of the Lord to please Him in all things, bearing fruit in every good work and growing by the full knowledge of God.”

Colossians 1:9 speaks of being filled with “the full knowledge of His will.” To be filled with the full knowledge of God’s will simply means to have the revelation of God’s plan so that through this revelation we know what God plans to do in this universe. As believers, we have to know God’s universal plan. What did God plan in eternity past to do in time throughout all the generations? We need such a revelation so that we can have the full knowledge of God’s eternal plan.

The revelation of God’s plan opens the way for us to have more experience of Christ. We all need to ask ourselves, “How much do I know concerning God’s plan? How much do I know concerning Christ in the plan of God?” The more we know concerning this, the better. Thus, we need to spend more time to learn about Christ in the plan of God. This is one of the most important reasons why we have to read the Scriptures. We read the Scriptures not to receive doctrine or teachings but to receive the revelation of Christ and the full knowledge of God’s eternal plan.

What is the difference between the doctrine of Christ and the revelation of Christ? Strictly speaking, the Bible is not a book of doctrine or teaching. The Bible is a book of revelation. The Bible opens the universal curtain, the universal veil, to show what is in the mind of God and what it is that God plans to do in this universe. This plan is to make His Son everything.

God’s desire, plan, and mind is to make Christ everything. This is the content of the entire Scriptures. Thus, we need to spend more time to read the Scriptures with such a view and expectation—not expecting to learn more doctrines and teachings but expecting to know Christ more and to receive more of the full knowledge of God’s eternal plan.

According to Colossians 1:9-10, first we receive the knowledge of God’s plan and then, based on that knowledge, we “walk worthily of the Lord.” To know is first; to walk is second. Knowing the will of God and the eternal plan of God enable us to walk worthily of the Lord. Our revelation directs our walking. Our walk is under the control of the revelation that we have.

We all need to spend time to read the Scriptures, to muse on the Lord’s Word, and to pray concerning these matters until we are filled with the truth and with the full knowledge of God’s eternal plan. When this happens, we will have wisdom in our spirit and heart and spiritual understanding in our spiritually enlightened and renewed mind.

We will have knowledge, not in our natural mind with its natural concepts but in our renewed mind that has been given understanding by the Holy Spirit through our spirit. Then this knowledge, this revelation, will direct and control our daily walk. Thus, first we need to know the will of God—to know that Christ is everything. Then we will walk according to what we know. This walk will be worthy of the Lord.

“Thank You, Lord Jesus, for revealing to us the mystery of Your will, in which we need to be filled with the full knowledge of Your eternal plan by taking time to read, to study, and pray-read the Bible in order for us to be able to walk worthy of Your calling. Amen.”

12. TAKE HIM AS OUR CENTRALITY, OUR HOLDING CENTER, AND OUR UNIVERSALITY, OUR EVERYTHING

To give the Lord the first place in all things is to take Him as our centrality, our holding center, and our universality, our everything (Col. 1:17b; 18b). Colossians 1:17b says, “All things cohere in Him.” This means that the entire universe–including all the galaxies, stars, and planets–are held together by Christ. He is the subsisting and holding center of the entire universe. In the same way, our personal universe is held together by Christ. We need to take Him as the center of our personal universe, give Him the first place in the smallest things even in the way we dress, the way we do our hair, and all our day to day living. We need to take Him as our center, as our hub and as our holding center. If we do not take Him as our center, our personal universe will fall apart. 🙏🏼💖

We must be clear that the will of God is for Christ to be everything to us. We need to possess Christ, experience Him, and apply Him in all things. HWMR – W2D4

The Bible opens the universal curtain, the universal veil, to show what is in the mind of God and what it is that God plans to do in this universe. This plan is to make His Son everything. God’s desire, plan, and mind is to make Christ everything. This is the content of the entire Scriptures. Thus, we need to spend more time to read the Scriptures with such a view and expectation-not expecting to learn more doctrines and teachings but expecting to know Christ more and to receive more of the full knowledge of God’s eternal plan.

First, we receive the knowledge of God’s plan and then. based on that knowledge, we “walk worthily of the Lord” [Col. 1:10]… Knowing the will of God and the eternal plan of God enable us to walk worthily of the Lord. Our revelation directs our walking. Our walk is under the control of the revelation that we have.

Knowing the will of God and the eternal plan of God enable us to walk worthily of the Lord. Our revelation directs our walking. Our walk is under the control of the revelation that we have. We must be clear that the will of God is for Christ to be everything to us.

We need to possess Christ, experience Him, and apply Him in all things. I would ask you all to make a decision that by the grace of the Lord, you would pray every day for three things.

First, pray for yourself: “Lord, day by day remind me to walk in You, experience You, and apply You to everything in my daily life.” We need to experience Christ and apply Him in such a way in our daily life.

Second, we need to pray for the saints, not only for those who are with us but also for those who are far away. Remember them and pray for them and for the whole church.

Third, pray that the Lord would recover the knowledge and experience of His will among all His children. Pray for yourself, for the churches, and for the recovery of His will concerning the all-inclusive Christ and His genuine expression. This is according to the Lord’s mind. (WL) 📖🙏🏼💖
