Eat God’s Words to Enjoy, be Constituted with, and Dispense Christ as Milk and Honey

Your lips drip fresh honey, my bride; / Honey and milk are under your tongue; / And the fragrance of your garments / Is like the fragrance of Lebanon. Song of Songs 4:11

As believers in Christ, we must eat God’s words to enjoy the all-inclusive Christ as the good land flowing with milk and honey until milk and honey are under our tongue for us to dispense the riches of Christ to the needy ones at the appropriate time.

Amen, Lord, we want to enjoy Your riches in Your word today! We come to Your word to drink the guileless milk of the word and taste the sweetness of God in the word! Amen!

Thank the Lord that He has not only saved us from eternal perdition and reconciled us to God but even more, He has called us into the enjoyment of Christ as the good land.

He didn’t give us a physical portion of a land; rather, He allotted each one of us, the believers in Christ, a portion of Christ for our enjoyment.

Even as the children of Israel were allotted a portion of the good land, so we today are allotted a portion of the all-inclusive Christ for our enjoyment.

God’s purpose in rescuing us out of the world and regenerating us with His life is not merely so that we now wait for Christ to come and bring us to Himself.

His purpose in His calling is for us to enter into the enjoyment of the all-inclusive Christ, the reality of the good land. This land is rich, spacious, vast, and immense, and this land has everything we need.

It is a land flowing with milk and honey. This land is so rich that milk and honey are there in abundance.

In the spiritual realm, milk and honey are a type of Christ’s judicial redemption and His organic salvation, for both of them are the produce of the animal life (a type of redemption) and the vegetable life (a type of generating life).

On the one hand, Christ died on the cross for our redemption, and He accomplished an all-inclusive and all-terminating judicial redemption.

He solved all the problems, met all of God’s requirements, and dealt with everything negative; simply by faith in Christ, we are reconciled to God, we are forgiven of our sins, and we receive the divine life. How wonderful redemption is! Amen!

Furthermore, Christ is also saving us in His life; after being redeemed and regenerated, we enter a lifelong process of being saved in the divine life of Christ.

We are now in this process today. Christ’s judicial redemption and His organic salvation are our portion today in the light; as long as we walk in the light and live in the light, we enjoy the all-inclusive Christ as the reality of the good land flowing with milk and honey. Praise the Lord!

Eat God’s Words to Enjoy the All-inclusive Christ – His Word is Milk for us to Drink and Honey for us to Eat

As newborn babes, long for the guileless milk of the word in order that by it you may grow unto salvation. 1 Pet. 2:2

The Bible does not accidentally or randomly use words and expressions when it describes things or mentions things.

When Jehovah described the good land into which He would bring the people of Israel, He said it is a land flowing with milk and honey.

This good land is a type of Christ, who is all-inclusive, vast, immense, and in Him milk and honey are flowing.

What does this mean and how can we apply this to our experience? Thank the Lord for the New Testament, where we see clearly that we can eat God’s words to enjoy the all-inclusive Christ as the good land in His redeeming and generating aspects so that we may be filled with milk and honey.

The Bible tells us that God’s word is milk for us to drink and honey for us to eat (John 6:57, 63, 68; 1 Pet. 2:2; Psa. 119:103; Ezek. 3:3). The psalmist said in Psalm 119:103, How sweet are Your words to my taste! Sweeter than honey to my mouth! The word of God is so sweet!

When we exercise our spirit and turn our heart to the Lord as we come to His word, we taste the Lord’s sweetness in His words.

Instead of being rebuked by the Lord and condemned by Him when we come to Him in His word, He shines on us in a loving way, and He unveils to us how sweet He is.

The Lord is so sweet in His words! We all can testify that we have tasted the Lord’s sweetness in His words.

Throughout the day, as we do this and that, the Lord reminds us of His words, and His words are so sweet to us.

As we chew on God’s words by prayerfully considering them and musing upon them, we taste the Lord’s sweetness.

The Lord’s words are even sweeter than honey. May we come to Him again and again and find His words, eat His words, and let His words be sweet to us. Amen!

The Lord’s words are also like guileless milk which we, as regenerated people, even as babes in the Lord, should long for (1 Pet. 2:2).

Peter tells us that, as newborn babes, we need to long for the guileless milk of the word in order by it we may grow unto salvation, if we have tasted that the Lord is good.

Hallelujah, the Lord is good! We have tasted and we can testify that God is good for food! He is good for us to eat, enjoy, and drink.

The word of God is like milk to us, nourishing us and causing us to grow. As we come to the Lord in His word day by day, we drink the guileless milk of the word so that we may grow unto salvation.

How sweet are Your words to my taste! / Sweeter than honey to my mouth! Psa. 119:103 And He said to me, Son of man, feed your stomach and fill your inward parts with this scroll that I am giving you. And I ate it, and it was like honey in my mouth in its sweetness. Ezek. 3:3

His words are not only sweet to our taste but even more, they are nourishing, causing us to grow unto salvation.

We don’t see how this happens and we don’t realise this, but when we eat and drink the Lord in His word, a little more of God is dispensed into our being for us to grow unto salvation. Praise the Lord!

We must eat God’s words so that we may enjoy the all-inclusive Christ as the good land in His redeeming and generating aspects.

He is the reality of the vegetable life for generating life and of the animal life for redemption.

On the one hand, Christ is like a barley loaf, having divine life in Him to regenerate us and sustain our daily life.

He grew on the land, on the God-created earth, and He gives us life whenever we come to Him in His word. On the other hand, He lived in the Satan-corrupted world and was not affected by it, and He died to redeem us.

When He was on earth, He fed people with barley loaves and fish; He dispensed His generating life and redeeming life to both overcome death and give them life.

Today He does the same as we come to Him in His word. May we be such ones today, those who eat God’s words to enjoy the all-inclusive Christ and be constituted, even filled, with milk and honey!

Lord Jesus, we want to partake of the all-inclusive Christ with all His riches today! Amen, Lord, we come to Your word to eat God’s words and enjoy the all-inclusive Christ! Oh Lord, You are the good land as the reality of the generating life and the redeeming life. Thank You for dying for us on the cross to redeem us; we take You as the Lamb of God today and we apply Your precious blood! How wonderful redemption is, our gracious Lord, in Thee! We come to You in Your word, Lord, to enjoy Your sweetness. Your words are sweet to our taste. We love to eat You in the Word and taste Your sweetness as we read and pray over the Word. Amen, Lord, Your words are sweeter than honey to our mouth. We love to partake of Your sweetness in Your word! Oh Lord, we long for the guileless milk of the word in order by it we may grow unto salvation. Nourish us by Your word. Your word is real milk to us. Grant us to grow as we prayerfully consider Your word. Amen, Lord, Your word is milk for us to drink and honey for us to eat!

Enjoy Christ as the Land of Milk and Honey to be Constituted with Him and Dispense the Riches of Christ to the Needy Ones

The Lord Jehovah has given me / The tongue of the instructed, / That I should know how to sustain the weary with a word. / He awakens me morning by morning; / He awakens my ear / To hear as an instructed one. Isa. 50:4

On the one hand, we eat the word of God to enjoy the all-inclusive Christ and partake of His riches in spirit so that we may be filled with milk and honey.

On the other hand, by enjoying Christ as the land of milk and honey, we will be constituted with Him as milk and honey and we will also have something to dispense into others.

Song of Songs 4:11a says, Your lips drip fresh honey, my bride; / Honey and milk are under your tongue.

This is very significant, and it is indeed our experience many times.

When we believers in Christ enjoy Christ as the land of milk and honey, especially by eating God’s words, we are constituted with Him as milk and honey and we will even be able to dispense the riches of Christ into others.

Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin will conceive and will bear a son, and she will call his name Immanuel. He will eat curds and honey until he knows how to refuse evil and choose good. Isa. 7:14-15In Isaiah 7:14-15, we see a prophecy concerning the Messiah, the coming Emmanuel; it says that He will eat curds and honey until He knows how to refuse evil and choose good.

This shows us that the power to choose is not because of us but because we eat the Lord in His word.

Curds are a product of milk; curds and honey refer to the Lord’s words, which are milk and honey to us.

Every day we are confronted with many decisions; we need to respond to things, make some choices, do certain things, and go certain places.

We need to choose God’s will; the power of choosing is from eating curds and honey, that is, eating the Lord in His word.

The Lord Jesus could choose the Father’s will because He prayerfully mused on the Word of God.

He could take the cup that God gave Him to drink because He ate curds and honey. Many martyrs throughout the ages could choose God’s will and were willing to sacrifice their life, making a choice to stand with God’s will because they had been feeding on God’s word.

We eat the word of God as the richest grace (curds, or milk) and the sweetest love (honey). When we enjoy the richest grace and the sweetest love, we are enabled to choose God and live Christ.

As we partake of the riches of Christ, we will be constituted with these riches; milk and honey will be even under our tongue.

Honey restores the stricken ones and milk feeds the new ones. When we as the Lord’s seekers and lovers, enjoy Christ as the land of milk and honey, the riches of Christ are stored in us so that food is under our tongue.

Then, we can dispense the riches of Christ to the needy ones at any time (Isa. 50:4; Matt. 12:35-36; Luke 4:22; Eph. 4:29-30).

The apostle Paul was this way. He enjoyed the riches of Christ and became a minister of these riches, having milk and honey under his tongue.

When we eat the Lord’s riches in His word and are filled with Him as the sweetest love and richest grace, milk and honey will be under our tongue.

This means that our speaking will be affected. We will not speak jokes, we will not gossip, nor do we react by speaking rash words.

Rather, our words will be sweet and nourishing, dripping milk and honey for others to be nourished, strengthened, and supplied.

Honey drips very slowly; when we’re constituted with Christ, we will not have the urge to speak, nor will we babble many words before others but rather, we will drip milk and honey to others, having a storage of the riches of Christ under our tongue.

The top of the tongue is where we take in food, and under the tongue we store food; partaking of the riches of Christ in His word will cause a rich storage of Christ to be ready for us to dispense to others.

We will not only have enough food for us to exist and live; we will also have a rich deposit of Christ to minister to others for their sustenance.

We have more than enough food; we have honey to restore the weak ones and milk to feed the immature ones.

May we daily store the riches of Christ within us so that we may have milk and honey under our tongue.

The good man, out of his good treasure, brings forth good things, and the evil man, out of his evil treasure, brings forth evil things. And I say to you that every idle word which men shall speak, they will render an account concerning it in the day of judgment. Matt. 12:35-36And may we come to the Lord concerning our speaking so that we do not have an unbridled tongue, a loose tongue, but have the tongue of an instructed one.

May our tongue be sanctified. May our words supply others.

Out of the good treasure of our heart, the mouth speaks; however, out of the evil treasure of our heart, evil things will come forth through our mouth. Oh Lord!

May we all be careful concerning what we speak, for we will give an account of every idle word on the day of judgment. Oh Lord!

If we want to have the treasure stored up to minister to others also, we need to be very exercised in how we use our tongue and what we speak to one another.

Instead of speaking idle words, empty words, we need to exercise to speak words of grace.

This sweetness is not produced overnight; rather, it comes from a long period of gathering, inward activity, and careful storage (2 Cor. 12:7-9).

This means that we not only read the Bible but we have many inward activities before the Lord, allowing the Word to be living and operative in us (Heb. 4:12) and carefully storing it in our being.

May the riches of Christ be constituted into our being so that we may have milk and honey under our tongue to minister Christ to others.

Lord Jesus, we want to enjoy Christ as the land of milk and honey to be constituted with Him as milk and honey! Amen, Lord, we come to You in Your word. Speak to us today. We want to store Your riches in our being. We say Amen to Your word. We pray Your word back to You. May Your word operate in us and divide our soul from our spirit. May Your word be so rich, so sweet, and so nourishing to us. We come to You, Lord, as we read Your word, so that we may enjoy You as the sweetest love and richest grace. Oh Lord, may our lips drip fresh honey, and may honey and milk be under our tongue! Fill us with the riches of Christ so that we may be able to dispense these riches to the needy ones at any time! Amen, Lord, may we do an inward work of gathering, opening, and storing the riches of Christ in our being so that we may be able to dispense something of these riches to others also! Oh Lord, we give You our speaking. May we not be loose in our speaking but rather, may our lips drip fresh honey, the sweetest love of Christ constituting us!

Song of Songs 4:11 says, “Thy lips, O my spouse, drop as the honeycomb: honey and milk are under thy tongue; and the smell of thy garments is like the smell of Lebanon.” (Smell in this verse is different from the word fragrance in the previous verse.) No human or natural smell can be compared to the fragrance that emanates from the maiden. This naturally makes her lips drop as the honeycomb. Honey is sweet, and it restores the stricken ones. But this sweetness is not produced overnight. It comes from a long period of gathering, inward activity, and careful storage. This is the unique possession of one who is taught by God. From the mouth of the maiden issue forth sweet and refreshing words, not gossip, jokes, or rash words. Her words are not outbursts of torrents, but drops of honey from the honeycomb. This is the slowest kind of dripping. Some people have the urge to speak; their words are like the babbling of brooks. Even when they speak about spiritual things, the way they speak shows that they have not passed through the deeper work of grace. In this verse we can notice not only her lips slowly dropping sweet honey, but the things that are stored within her. “Honey and milk are under thy tongue.” The top of the tongue is where man takes in food, whereas under the tongue is where man stores food. This means that she has stored up these things; there are riches within her. She has more than enough food. Honey restores the weak ones, whereas milk feeds the immature ones. She has stored so many riches within her that food seems to be under her tongue, and she can dispense to the needy ones at any time. However, she does not reveal all that she has. She is not like many people who exhibit on the outside all that they have inside. Honey and milk are under her tongue; they are not on her lips.

The barley loaves of the plant life signify the generating aspect of Christ’s life, and the fishes signify the redeeming aspect of His life. As the generating life, Christ grew on the land, on the God-created earth. As the redeeming life, He lived in the sea, the Satan-corrupted world. In order to regenerate us He grew on the God-created earth for producing life, but in order to redeem us He lived in the satanic and sinful world. Just as fish can live in salty water without being salty, so Christ could live in the sinful world without being sinful and without being affected by the world…It is significant, therefore, that He fed the people with barley loaves and fishes. This indicates that He fed them with the generating life and the redeeming life, the life that overcomes death. The Lord is signified by both the barley loaves and the fishes, for He is the plant life to generate us and the animal life to redeem us. Eventually, the feeding with Christ’s resurrection life results in eternal life.

Dear brother, when we enjoy Christ as the land of milk and honey, we will be constituted with Him as milk and honey – we will even have milk and honey under our tongue!

First, we store many riches within us by a long period of gathering, inward activity, and careful storage.

Then, we have many riches stored in us so that food is under our tongue, and we can dispense the riches of Christ to the needy ones at any time.

Oh Lord! We come to You in Your word. We want to taste Your sweetness in Your word. We long for the guileless milk of the Word. Fill us with milk and honey. May we have the riches of Christ under our tongue to dispense to others also!

brother we need to enjoy the guileless milk of the word, the guileless milk in verse 2 in 1 Peter 2 removes the 5 negative things in the previous verse: malice, envy, evil speaking, hypocrisies and guile within. This will issue in us store milk under our tongue, so instead of gossiping, speaking negatively, giving harsh words or making jokes we will feed the new and immature ones with the milk.

We also need to enjoy the honey which is the sweetness of the word and have it dripping on our lips like the lover in Song of Songs to restore and sustain the weak ones with a word.

O Lord give us a hunger for your word, keep us eating your day by day so that we can feed the news and sustain the weak ones!

Milk and honey signify the riches of Christ which come from the two aspects of His life.

Oh the land is flowing with milk and honey; flowing with the riches of His redemption and of His generating life!

Now He is feeding us with the riches of His life to restore us, nourish us, even to constitute us.

That by us opening, receiving and enjoying His feeding and flowing again and again we become a storage of the riches of His life not merely for ourselves but for saints, and the people around us, restoring the weak ones and feeding the immature ones.

Lord feed us and fill us today. May we treasure Your word in our heart allowing Your word to dwell in us richly. May Your word be milk and honey under our tongue

Amen, we need to feed on God’s word for the redeeming and regenerative aspects for the enjoyment of the all-inclusive Christ.

Honey restores us, and milk is so that we can grow in life.

Like the maiden honey and milk are under her tongue, storing the riches of Christ for long periods, nor revealing all that she has.

Lord may we eat of Your word today, enjoy You and store Your riches that we can dispense to the needy ones. Shine in us and through us onto others as our light. Amen Lord Jesus, we want to taste Your sweetness in Your word

God’s word is milk for us to drink and honey for us to eat. This is for us to partake.

By eating God’s word, we enjoy the all-inclusive Christ as the good land in His redeeming and generating aspects. Like Jesus, may we daily eat curds (the richest grace & honey (sweetest love, refreshing, and restorative) to have the power to choose good over evil!

We have to choose God’s will! The power of choosing good is from eating curds and honey. (Isa. 7:15). This is Christ, our all-inclusive land!

Honey and milk should be under our tongue, not exhibited in a vain show (S.S. 4:11a:), so we can dispense to the needy ones (Isa. 50:4 – the tongue of the instructed one!)

Our tongue should be sanctified, not unbridled in speaking idle words. We should have treasure stored up in order to minister words of grace to edify others!

This honey comes from years of learning, gathering, inward activity, and careful storage to saturate & constitute us.

We need to exercise to come to the Lord every morning! This is how we get the tongue of the instructed to sustain the stricken, weary, and feed the immature.

Lord, strengthen us! Give us, Lord, the yearning to come to your word daily. Constitute us with Your riches under our tongue for others’ needs!

We believers need to build a store of Christ’s riches within our being with lots of “honey & milk” for others.

From our mouths should come forth the sweet & refreshing words of Jesus, which are able to restore weak ones ( with honey) and feed the immature ones with milk.

However, we should not reveal all that we have. “Honey & milk” should be under our tongue, not on our lips (Song of Songs 4:11).

A new song on this topic I was enjoying recently is this:

I anticipated the dawn and cried out;

I hoped in Your words, I hoped in Your words.

My eyes anticipated the night watches,

That I might muse, muse upon Your word.

Hear my voice according to Your lovingkindness; O Jehovah,

Hear my voice according to Your ordinances enliven me.

How sweet are Your words to my taste!

Sweeter than honey to my mouth!

Your word is a lamp to my feet

And a light to my path,

A light to my path.

You are my hiding place and shield,

My hiding place and shield;

In Your word do I hope.

Incline my heart to Your testimonies

And not to unjust gain.

Turn my eyes from beholding vanity,

Enliven me in Your ways.
