Drinking the Living Water to be Satisfied Uniquely with God and become the New Jerusalem

...If you knew the gift of God and who it is who says to you, Give Me a drink, you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water. John 4:10

When we drink of Christ as the living water, this will become in us a fountain of water springing up into eternal life, into the New Jerusalem; only by drinking the living water can we be satisfied and never disappointed!

Our God has passed through a process to become a life-giving Spirit as the living water, the water of life; now we can simply take the cup of salvation and call on the name of the Lord to drink Him!

Wow, our salvation is not just a once-for-all fact – we can have a practical salvation by drinking the Spirit as the living water!

What can we do or give back to the Lord for all that He has done for us?

He has accomplished such a wonderful redemption, He has done so many great things for us, and all we have to do is call on the name of the Lord to drink the cup of salvation!

When we call on the name of the Lord, we drink in “liquid salvation”, we drink the life-giving Spirit who has become the living water! We were all given to drink one Spirit, and this Spirit is in the word of God.

When we read and pray over the word of God, when we exercise our spirit to touch the Spirit in the word, we drink the living water.

All throughout the day, whether we go through happy situations or not-so-happy situations, may we learn to call on the name of the Lord to drink the cup of salvation!

Amen, we can take the cup of salvation and call on the name of the Lord, thus drinking of the Lord Jesus as the Spirit who is our salvation!

God’s practical salvation is the processed Triune God Himself as the living water; this living water flows from the throne of God and reaches man all over the earth.

This living water is crystal clear, pure, nourishing, satisfying, and thirst-quenching; when we drink of the Lord, we are purified and all dimness and opaqueness are being removed until we become as bright as crystal!

May we realize that the Lord Himself is our salvation, and we can draw water out of the springs of the divine salvation by our repenting, calling, singing, thanking, praising, and making God’s saving deeds known.

May we build up a habit of enjoying the Lord in many ways and at many times during the days; we shouldn’t let time go by but contact the Lord, pray short prayers, pray the word back to God, and allow the Lord to fill us with Himself as the living water.

As we drink the Lord as the living water, something happens within our being; this living water enters into us, permeates us, passes through our entire being, and is assimilated into our spiritual being.

As we drink the living water and it saturates us, we are nourished, transformed, conformed, and glorified.

Drinking the Living Water and Flowing it out to be Satisfied with God and become the New Jerusalem

...Everyone who drinks of this water shall thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall by no means thirst forever; but the water that I will give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into eternal life. John 4:13-14When we drink physical water, we are refreshed, our thirst is quenched, and our body can function properly.

However, the living water is much more than this: the water that the Lord gives when we drink of Him will become in us a fountain of water springing up into eternal life (John 4:14).

The living water we drink becomes in us a fountain springing up and flowing into eternal life.

The Triune God flows in the Divine Trinity in three stages: the Father as the fountain, the Son as the springs, and the Spirit as the river; these are not separate things but three aspects of the same thing.

And this living water flows into eternal life; into here speaks of destination – the eternal life is the destination of the flowing Triune God.

Hallelujah, God as the fountain of living waters has come in Christ as the Spirit to be the fountain springing up and flowing out into the eternal life in us!

And this eternal life is eventually the New Jerusalem; when we drink the living water and flow it out, we are satisfied with God and we become the New Jerusalem!

By drinking the living water, we become the New Jerusalem, the totality of the eternal life, the destination of the flowing Triune God.

As we are drinking Him as the flowing Triune God we are becoming the New Jerusalem until we eventually become the totality of the eternal life!

And in particular, one aspect of drinking this living water is that we are not disappointed but rather we are satisfied with God as the fountain of living waters.

In John 4:13-14 we see that whoever drinks of this water (the water that this world has to offer) will thirst again, but those who drink of the living water will never thirst again.

In Isa. 42:4 we see that the Lord will not faint or be disappointed; He is never discouraged until He has established justice on the earth.

The Lord will not faint nor will He be discouraged until we become the New Jerusalem!

In our experience, however, because we still drink of the water of this world such as entertainment, amusement, sports, TV, etc, we are not satisfied or filled, but rather we are disappointed, for this water doesn’t last or quench our thirst.

We become disappointed because we try to satisfy ourselves with transient things, which are not eternal and will not last.

Many times we hew out for ourselves cisterns, which are broken; we try to enjoy or drink from things that are other than Christ, and these become our idols, substituting Christ. But these will not satisfy us.

The Triune God is flowing through the Father, the Son, and the Spirit into us. When we drink of this water, it becomes a fountain in us. We all should say, “The fountain is in me!” This fountain emerges as a spring, and the spring flows out as a river for the New Jerusalem. This is the key to open up the entire Gospel of John. This is the divine speaking, divine spreading, divine dispensing, of the Divine Trinity….When He flows into us, He flows with us. He will flow us into the New Jerusalem to be the New Jerusalem. The preposition into also means “to become.” Into the New Jerusalem means “to become the New Jerusalem.”…We have to be the New Jerusalem; then we can be in the New Jerusalem. This is the intrinsic significance of the Gospel of John and Revelation. CWWL, 1994-1997, vol. 4, “Crystallization-study of the Gospel of John,” pp. 457-458In Matt. 10-11 the Lord Jesus went to three cities and they all rejected him, yet He was not disappointed but He extolled the Father for hiding these things from the wise and revealing them to the infants.

Even while being rejected, the Lord Jesus was not disappointed because He took the Father as His source, desiring nothing and no one in heaven or earth but God (Psa. 73:25).

He didn’t trust in man, whether they praised Him or rejected Him; He had no other good on earth beyond the Father (Psa. 16:2).

Those who take their satisfaction in God will never be disappointed.

Though the Lord grow up like a tender plant before God, like a root out of a dry ground (Isa. 53), having nothing and no one in His environment as His satisfaction, He took the Father and His will as His supply and unique satisfaction.

If we seek the Lord and His will, doing everything for His glory and not seeking glory from men, we will be satisfied with God and we will drink of Him until we become the New Jerusalem!

If we drink of the water this world has to offer, we will never be satisfied, but when we drink of the living water, we will be satisfied with God and we will eventually become the New Jerusalem!

Lord Jesus, we come to You to drink of You as the living water; only You can quench our thirst and only You satisfy us. Save us from trying to quench our thirst with the water this world has to offer us; may we come to You again and again to drink the living water until there’s a fountain of water in us springing up into eternal life, into the New Jerusalem! Amen! We take You as our unique satisfaction. We seek only You and Your will, and we are for Your glory. Amen, Lord, nothing and no one else can satisfy us on earth: only You can satisfy, and we take You as our unique satisfaction! We drink of You, Lord, until we become the New Jerusalem!

Drinking the Living Water Solves our Problems, Satisfies us, and Produces the Church as Christ’s Increase

Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes into Me, as the Scripture said, out of his innermost being shall flow rivers of living water. But this He said concerning the Spirit, whom those who believed into Him were about to receive; for the Spirit was not yet, because Jesus had not yet been glorified. John 7:37-39The truth is that nothing apart from God as the fountain of living waters can quench our thirst and satisfy us.

Nothing apart from God dispensed into our being can make us His increase for His expression (Rev. 22:1, 17).

The goal of God in being the fountain of living waters is not only for us to drink of Him to be satisfied but for Him to produce the church as His increase to be His fullness for His expression (Jer. 2:13; Lam. 3:22-24; 1 Cor. 1:9; Eph. 1:5, 9, 22-23).

This is what God desires in His heart, His good pleasure, in His economy; He wants us to drink of Him, have all our problem solved, be satisfied, and be produced as the church to be the increase of Christ for God’s corporate expression.

Our God is doing mainly one thing today: He is dispensing Himself into us to produce us as His increase for His corporate expression.

We need to daily pray in a simple way,

Lord, dispense Yourself into me today! I want to drink of You as the fountain of living waters so that You may flow out of my innermost being, for other people to drink of You! Dispense Yourself into me and through me into the people I am caring for, so that You may be our unique satisfaction!

We need to realize, however, that whenever we as God’s people are short of the Spirit of life as the water of life, we will have problems (see Exo. 17:17; Num. 20:2-13).

Whenever the people of Israel were short of water, they murmured and complained. Whenever we as the people of God are short of drinking the living water, we will have problems.

But when we have an abundance of the saving Spirit as the living water, our problems among ourselves and with God are solved.

In Exo. 17 we see that the people of Israel didn’t have water and they complained and murmured before Moses; God therefore told him to take the staff of God and go to the rock and strike it, and water will flow.

God Himself was standing on the rock, Christ is the reality of the rock, and the water flowing out is God the Spirit.

Nothing apart from God as the fountain of living waters can quench our thirst and satisfy us; nothing apart from God dispensed into our being can make us His increase for His expression — Rev. 22:1, 17. We need to realize that whenever God’s people are short of the Spirit of life as the water of life, they will have problems; when God’s people have an abundance of the saving Spirit as the living water, their problems among themselves and with God are solved — Exo. 17:17; Num. 20:2-13. Crystallization Study of Jeremiah, outline 2The entire Triune God is involved and implied with the flowing of the water of life that we as His people may drink of Him, have our problems solved, be satisfied uniquely with Him, and become His increase for His corporate expression.

Today we simply need to speak to Christ and ask Him to give us the living water; as we have a simple conversation with the Lord, opening our heart to Him, He gives us to drink the living water which is Himself.

May we learn to breathe out our sorrows, breathe out our sin, and breathe Him in with all that He is, drinking and breathing of Him as the living One!

Christ is always with us and in us; we need to ask Him to give us to drink, and He will give us the living water.

We shouldn’t look at or focus on the problems but come to the Lord, ask Him to give us to drink, and just exercise our spirit to drink the living water by calling on His name, repenting, praying, pray-reading the word, and turning to Him again and again!

One of the best ways to receive and enjoy the divine dispensing is to talk to the Lord, having many conversations with Him; as we open our heart to Him, pouring out what is in our heart to Him, talking to Him about everything, the living waters will flow within us and we will drink and flow!

Lord Jesus, dispense Yourself into us today; we want to drink of You as the fountain of living waters so that You may flow out of our innermost being to also water others and quench their thirst! Oh Lord, nothing apart from You as the fountain of living waters can quench our thirst and satisfy us. Only by having You dispensed into us can our problems be solved and we can become Your increase for Your expression. Keep us drinking of You, Lord, as the living water until we have an abundance of the saving Spirit in our being! Amen, Lord Jesus, give us to drink! Flow into us, flow in all our inner being, and flow out of us into others to quench their thirst and satisfy them!
