Cooperate with God to have the Second Garment, Christ as our Subjective Righteousnesses

She will be led to the King in embroidered [clothing;] / The virgins behind her, her companions, / Will be brought to You. Psa. 45:14

We need to cooperate with God to have not only the first garment – Christ as our objective righteousness, but also the second garment, Christ as our subjective righteousnesses, so that we may be qualified to enter the wedding feast of the Lamb when the Lord Jesus returns.

The two aspects of righteousness – the objective righteousness and subjective righteousness – are typified by the two garments of the ween in Psa. 45:13-14; we need to have not only Christ as our first garment, the objective righteousness but also the righteousnesses of the saints, the subjective righteousness, Christ being lived out of us. Amen!

How we thank and praise the Lord that, at the time of our regeneration, He has made us righteous in Christ, for He clothed us with Christ as our righteousness! Hallelujah!

We all were like the prodigal son, squandering our Father’s possessions and living in an improper way, but one day we returned to the Father’s house.

One day, the Spirit moved in our heart, lit the lamp of the Word of God, swept in our being to clean it up and make us aware that we’re lost, and we came back to our Father.

In the world, there are a lot of seemingly enjoyable things to participate in, and there are parties and entertainments that we can attend in order to delight ourselves.

But at the end of it all, they leave us empty and dissatisfied, for we are happy only in the Father’s house.

Eventually, after living in the world and doing our best to enjoy what the world has to offer, we realize we’re just toiling for no reason, we are hungry and no one gives us to eat, and no one seems to care for the inner condition of our being.

So many of us can testify that one day, the Spirit operated in our being to remind us that God is so rich, the church is so wonderful, and there is plenty of food and enjoyment in the Father’s house.

When we return to our Father, when we repent and return to Him, He doesn’t need a repentance speech from us or a long promise that we will do this or that for Him; He simply clothes us with Christ, the best robe.

We are dirty and our clothes stink, for we have been wandering apart from God, so He makes Christ our righteousness.

Hallelujah, Christ covers us as our objective righteousness before God, for by believing into the Lord we are justified before Him because of Jesus Christ!

He is the only One qualified to be before God and to partake of what God is, and He has been given to us as our objective righteousness.

Now, however, after receiving Christ and being in the Father’s house, we need to continue to enjoy Christ and live out Christ so that He may become our second garment, the righteousnesses of the saints, the embroidered clothing that covers us and becomes our wedding garment to satisfy Christ for our marriage.

This doesn’t mean that we need to strive to please God and do works that are good before Him.

It simply means that we need to cooperate with the embroidering work of the Holy Spirit so that He would work Christ into our being so that Christ may be lived out of us as our many righteousnesses which constitute our wedding garment. Amen, Lord Jesus!

Our First Garment is Christ as our Objective Righteousness, which is for our Salvation – a woven work inwrought with gold (Psa. 43:13)

The king's daughter is all glorious within [the royal abode;] / Her garment is a woven work inwrought with gold. Psa. 45:13In Psa. 45:13-14 we see the king’s daughter, who is the queen as a type of the church, being led to the King for their marriage.

The queen has two garments: the first is a woven work inwrought with gold, and the second is the embroidered clothing.

The king’s daughter being all glorious within the royal abode signifies the glorious church taking Christ as her royal abode.

We as believers in Christ take Christ as our abode. We abide in Him and He abides in us.

First, we take Christ as our abode, and then, we become His abode. We abide in Christ and Christ abides in us (John 15:4-5).

And our abode is royal and glorious, for Christ Himself is our abode; when we abide in the Lord, we become His abode.

Our first garment as the church is “a woven work inwrought with gold” (Psa. 45:13b).

This signifies the Christ who has been dealt with through death and resurrection becoming the righteousness of the church to meet the righteous requirement of God for her to be justified before God (see 1 Cor. 1:30; Luke 15:22; Jer. 23:6).

Christ went through many sufferings and through death and resurrection, and now He has become our righteousness, for He meets the righteous requirement of God for us to be justified before God.

God the Father clothes us with Christ the Son as our objective righteousness, the best robe, in order for us to be qualified to partake of the riches of God and feast with Him in His house.

God Himself becomes our righteousness, our glorious dress.

The fact that the first garment of the queen is inwrought with gold signifies that the church’s appearing is in the divine nature (Psa. 45:9; 2 Pet. 1:4).

We are covered with Christ and by Christ as our clothing, and only He can satisfy God with His righteous requirements to justify us and make us acceptable to God. Praise the Lord!

Our main problem today is not toward other people or toward ourselves but toward God.

But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became wisdom to us from God: both righteousness and sanctification and redemption. 1 Cor. 1:30 But the father said to his slaves, Bring out quickly the best robe and put [it] on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. Luke 15:22 In His days Judah will be saved, And Israel will dwell securely; / And this is His name by which He will be called: / Jehovah our righteousness. Jer. 23:6We have a problem with God, for our sins and trespasses make a barrier between us and God.

But praise the Lord, Christ went through a process in order to become our objective righteousness, and when we believe into the Lord and repent of our sins, He covers us as our righteousness.

Rom. 3:23-25 shows us that Christ covers us and even becomes the propitiation place for us to meet with God and be pleasing to Him. How glorious it is to be in Christ!

One moment we are in sin, in death, in the old man, and in the world, but in the very next moment after we are regenerated through repentance and faith in Christ, we are in Christ, being fully at peace with God and justified before Him!

This is Christ as our objective righteousness, Christ as our first garment covering us before God to justify us before Him for our salvation.

He has met all the requirements of God, He has satisfied God fully, and He was processed and consummated so that He may be applied to us in our experience today.

No condemnation now we dread, for Christ is our righteousness, and in Christ we are justified before God!

We don’t have to work harder to pay for our sins nor do we need to do many good works to make atonement for what we have done in the past; we simply need to take Christ as our first garment – our objective righteousness!

Lord Jesus, thank You for dying for us and becoming a life-giving Spirit to come into our spirit and regenerate us with Your life to make us children of God. Amen, Lord, we believe into You and we take You as our righteousness before God. We acknowledge that we are not righteous and there’s nothing we can do to justify us before God, so we come to You and take You as our first garment, our objective righteousness. Amen, Lord Jesus, we believe that YOu have been dealt with through death and resurrection to become the righteousness of the church to meet the righteous requirement of God for the church to be justified before God! Hallelujah, through faith in Jesus Christ, we are justified before God because God makes Christ our righteousness! Praise the Lord, by repentance and faith in Christ we are covered with Christ, the best robe, the objective righteousness that justifies us before God! Praise the Lord!

The Second Garment is the Subjective Righteousnesses for our Victory – “embroidered clothing” (Psa. 45:14)

And it was given to her that she should be clothed in fine linen, bright [and] clean; for the fine linen is the righteousnesses of the saints. Rev. 19:8

Besides the first garment, the queen in Psa. 45 wears a second garment, which is embroidered clothing (v. 14).

On one hand, there’s the first garment inwrought with gold, a type of Christ as our objective righteousness. On the other hand, there is the second garment – the embroidered clothing, a type of Christ as our subjective righteousness, even our subjective righteousnesses.

While the first garment makes us acceptable to God and justifies us before Him, the second garment is for our victory and for us to match Christ for our wedding.

But when the king came in to look at those reclining [at table,] he saw there a man who was not clothed with a wedding garment, And he said to him, Friend, how did you come in here without a wedding garment? And he was speechless. Matt. 22:11-12The embroidered clothing, the second layer of our covering, signifies that the church will be led to Christ at their marriage clothed with the righteousnesses of the saints to meet the requirement of Christ for their marriage (Rev. 19:8; Matt. 22:11-12).

The subjective righteousnesses are not for our salvation but for us to meet the requirements of the victorious and overcoming Christ as our Bridegroom.

In Rev. 19:8 we see that the bride was given to be dressed in fine linen, for the fine linen is the righteousnesses of the saints; this is the second garment.

The fine linen is not given to us once and for all; rather, it is something that is being embroidered throughout our Christian life by the work of the Holy Spirit.

The embroiderer is the Holy Spirit, and He is embroidering stitch by stitch this second garment in us, even in our daily living, for us to have a wedding garment to partake of the wedding feast and become part of the bride of Christ. Amen!

The righteousnesses of the saints refer to Christ as our subjective righteousness, the Christ who is lived out of us day by day to become our subjective righteousnesses in our daily living.

While the objective righteousness enables us to meet the requirement of the righteous God, the subjective righteousnesses of the overcoming believers are subjective (Phil. 3:9) and enable them to meet the requirement of the overcoming Christ.

On one hand, all believers in Christ have a garment that is inwrought with gold, for they have the divine nature of God and they are justified before Him by taking Christ as their objective righteousness.

On the other hand, we need to daily cooperate with the Lord to have Him as our subjective righteousnesses wrought into us and worked out of us to be lived out of us.

The Spirit is doing a transforming work in us to embroider our second garment, and we need to cooperate with Him.

We need to cooperate with the Lord to have our wedding garment seen in Matt. 22:11-12, the subjective righteousnesses that qualify us to enter into the wedding feast at the Lord’s second coming.

This second garment will qualify us to see Christ at His judgment seat.

May we be those who cooperate with the Lord day by day to open to Him, enjoy Him, and learn to live Him out so that He may be wrought into us and expressed through us as our subjective righteousnesses, our second garment.

May we see that we are under the needle of the Holy Spirit, the transformation of the Holy Spirit, for us to have the second garment that qualifies us to enter the wedding feast.

We want to be the overcoming believers, the corporate queen of Christ who takes Him as our royal abode for us to be found in Christ and for Him to become our subjective righteousnesses.

The raiment of embroidered work is the subjective Christ wrought into our character, embroidered into our being, to be our lived-out righteousness.

God’s economy is to daily dispense Christ into our being so that He would become our everything.

Also in His economy, God works as the Spirit to embroider Christ stitch by stitch to be our wedding garment.

I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined by fire that you may be rich, and white garments that you may be clothed and [that] the shame of your nakedness may not be manifested, and eyesalve to anoint your eyes that you may see. Rev. 3:18Not only are we regenerated; day by day we also experience the transforming work of the Holy Spirit in our marriage life, in our personal life, and in our church life.

The Spirit works every day to embroider Christ into us stitch by stitch so that He may be our subjective righteousnesses, our wedding garment.

If we don’t have this wedding garment, we are not qualified to enter the wedding feast.

May we pay the price to live Christ as our subjective righteousness so that we may be clothed with Christ as our God-approved conduct (Rev. 3:18).

May we not think that we have arrived or that it is good enough to have Christ as our objective righteousness but go on to cooperate with Him for Christ to be our subjective righteousnesses.

We need to pay attention to our living and work on earth, for these will decide whether we receive the reward at the Lord’s return.

We should cooperate with the Holy Spirit’s work of embroidering Christ into our being for Him to be lived out of us so that we may have the second garment, the subjective righteousnesses of the saints, for our participation at the wedding feast!

Lord Jesus, we want to become Your bride who matches You for our wedding. Amen, Lord, make us Your overcoming believers, Your corporate queen who takes Christ as her royal abode for her to be found in Christ and for Him to become her subjective righteousness. Oh Lord Jesus, we open to You. We want to cooperate with the Holy Spirit’s work of embroidering of the second garment in us. We give You our daily living. Save us from living in a lose way, not caring for the inner speaking of the Spirit within us. May we have the subjective righteousnesses being worked out in us as we exercise our spirit and live one spirit with the Lord. Amen, Lord, we want to pay the price to live Christ as our subjective righteousness so that we may be clothed with Christ as our God-approved conduct. Keep us open to the Spirit’s inner working day by day to embroider Christ into us stitch by stitch to be our wedding garment. Amen, Lord Jesus, may Christ be subjectively woven into our character and embroidered into our being to be our lived-out righteousness!

These two garments are also seen in Psalm 45. In this psalm the queen has two garments (vv. 13-14): one corresponds to the objective righteousness for our salvation and the other to the subjective righteousness for our victory. The latter is equivalent to the wedding garment in Matthew 22:11 and 12. The queen in Psalm 45 signifies the church. Her first garment is “inwrought with gold,” and her second is “embroidered clothing.” In the Bible gold signifies the divine nature of God. At the time of our salvation, we received a golden garment that enabled us to be in the presence of God. In addition to this, we need another garment, a garment of embroidery. This embroidery signifies the transforming work of the Holy Spirit…Although we have the first garment, our second garment is now being prepared under the embroidering work of the Holy Spirit. This garment will qualify us to see Christ at His judgment seat. Day by day we are under the needle, the transformation, of the Holy Spirit. How we need this second garment! This is a serious matter. However serious this matter may be, most Christians care only for the first garment. Some even say, “As long as we are justified, redeemed, and saved, everything is all right.” Do not listen to this. You may be all right as far as salvation is concerned, but what about the reward? You not only need justification—you also need approval. When you appear before the judgment seat of Christ, will He approve of you? Matthew 22:14 says very clearly that some will be chosen and not others. Only those who have the second garment produced by the embroidering work of the Holy Spirit will be chosen and qualified to attend the wedding feast of the Lamb.

Thank the Lord that we have Him as our first garment, our objective righteousness.

May we cooperate with Him to have Christ wrought into us and lived out of us day by day as our subjective righteousnesses, our second garment, our wedding garment.

Oh Lord. Work in us. Embroider Christ into us. We want to cooperate with the Holy Spirit’s inner work of embroidering the wedding garment stitch by stitch in our daily living.

Amen, Lord Jesus, we want to be Your bride dressed in the wedding garment, the fine linen, the righteousnesses of the saints!

Amen to the work of embroidering christ into us!

The embroidery of the second garment signifies the transforming work of Christ and is what qualifies us for approval at judgment.

Amen brother. We not only need justification, We also need approval.

Some will be chosen to be the bride of the overcoming lamb and not others.

We must not be content with having only the inner objective garment of God’s divine nature.

We need to pursue the transforming embroidering work of the Holy Spirit.

Only those who have the embroidered subjective garment will be qualified & chosen to attend the wedding feast of the Lamb.

We thank the Lord that we have the first garment inwrought with gold, Christ as our objective righteousness having been justified freely according to His mercy and grace for our salvation.

However, for us to appear before Christ at the judgement seat to have an entrance into the wedding feast we need the second garment.

This is for us to be embroidered with gold – the divine nature – stitch by stitch through the work of the Holy Spirit in His transforming work – to have Christ as our subject righteousness that we may live Him.

Lord, stitch, more of Yourself into us today!

Amen! Yes, we have the first garment but we also need the second garment as our subjective righteousness.

Lord, we want to experience and enjoy You as our subjective righteousness today. Lord, keep us turning to You. Transform us moment by moment.

Keep us turning to our spirit to prepare our second garment. We want to be ready and gain the crown of righteousness.

Save us from focusing on the first garment only. Cause us to enter into the subjective experience of You!

07/18/24 Receiving the Kingdom Reward of Christ as the Crown of Righteousness (Week 5, Day 4)

“In Order to be Awarded with Christ as Our Crown of Righteousness in the Next Age, We Must Experience and Enjoy Him as Our Subjective, Lived-out Righteousness in This Age: Part (2) The Two Aspects of Righteousness are Typified by the Two Garments of the Queen in Psalm 45:13-14”

Psalm 45:13-14 says, “The king’s daughter is all glorious within the royal abode; / Her garment is a woven work inwrought with gold. / She will be led to the King in embroidered clothing; / The virgins behind her, her companions, / Will be brought to You.” In these verses the king’s daughter, that is, the queen (Psa 45:9-10), has two garments:

  1. Garment of woven work inwrought with gold (garment of salvation) ~ typifies Christ as our objective righteousness for our justification through faith, that is, by believing into Christ (Rom 3:26, 28, 30; Gal 3:8, 11; Eph 2:8)
  2. Garment of embroidered work (wedding garment) ~ typfies Christ as our subjective righteousness for our victory and marriage with Christ, as our Bridegroom, through our working out to live-out Christ as our righteousness (Phil 1:21; 2:12)

Garments in the Bible signify a person’s expression in his deeds (Isa 64:6; Rev 19:8). Psalm 45:13-14 indicates that the church, signified by the king’s daughter, the queen, has two kinds of garments, two kinds of clothing. The first garment, the woven work inwrought with gold, the same as the gold of Ophir in verse 9, is Christ as her objective righteousness before God for her justification. All the believers in Christ have Him as their righteousness to stand justified in the presence of God. This is the first garment for our salvation, and it is signified in Luke 15 by the best robe given by the father to his returned prodigal son (Luke 15:22).

After our salvation and until the day of the Lord’s return, we need the Holy Spirit to work Christ into us as our subjective righteousness. This is the second garment, the embroidered clothing in Psalm 45:14 and the fine linen in the book of Revelation. Revelation 19:8 says, “It was given to her [the wife of the Lamb] that she should be clothed in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteousnesses of the saints.”

All the believers in Christ have received the first garment for their justification in the presence of God, but we still need the Holy Spirit to work Christ into us as the second garment, which enables us to stand before Christ as our Husband and Bridegroom. We need to be clothed with Christ as our embroidered garment, our subjective righteousness, in order to be able to stand as a bride before Him.

The two robes of the queen mentioned in Psalm 45 typify the two aspects of the righteousness of the church. The first aspect is Christ put upon the believers, the garment inwrought with gold and the gold of Ophir, as our objective righteousness to stand before God, and the second aspect is Christ wrought into us by the transforming work of the Holy Spirit and lived out of us to be the subjective righteousness in our deeds, behavior, and daily life.

Christ as our subjective righteousness is the embroidered clothing, a clothing of needlework, which signifies Christ “embroidered” into us by the Holy Spirit “stitch by stitch.” After our justification, Christ needs to be wrought into us by the Holy Spirit stitch by stitch. This stitching work is the Holy Spirit’s work of embroidering Christ into us as our second garment so that we will match Him as our Bridegroom.

As believers in Christ, we have been justified by God; we have Christ as our first garment, which enables us to stand in the presence of God. However, we need another garment, Christ worked into our being in a subjective way as a garment of embroidery. This embroidered garment will be our preparation as the bride to meet our Bridegroom, Christ (Matt. 22:11-12).

Today we are under the stitching, the needlework, of the Spirit. In the stitching work (transformation work), the needle (Spirit) pierces (suffer persecutions and trials) the thread (Christ) into the plain cloth (the believers) to embroider an image (to conform us into the image of Christ). We need to allow the sufferings laid before us (piercing and stitching) by the Spirit (the needle) with Christ (thread) into us (plain cloth) to transform us (stitch us) and be conformed (embroider us) into the image of Christ (Rom 12:2; 8:29).

We need the continual stitching of the needle (the transforming work of the Spirit) to embroider us with Christ (the thread) into our inward parts until Christ may make His home fully in our heart (Eph 4:17). This is to be conformed into Christ’s image to match us, to be the Bride of Christ, Who is our Bridegroom.

The wedding will bring in the reign of the Lord, the kingdom, because all the guests invited to the wedding will be both the corporate Bride and the co-kings of the Groom. The Bridegroom, who will take the whole earth as His kingdom, certainly needs many sub-kings to be His co-kings. His corporate Bride will all be His co-kings to rule with Him in the wedding feast, the Millennial Kingdom.

“Lord Jesus, continue Your transforming work in us until we are conformed into Your image and our wedding garment, as our subjective righteousness, will be made ready for us to become Your corporate Bride, who will reign with You, as Your co-kings, during the wedding feast, the Millennial Kingdom. Amen.”

The king’s daughter is the queen, signifying the church, and her being all glorious within the royal abode signifies the glorious church (Eph. 5:27), which takes Christ as her royal abode. First we, the believers of Christ, take Christ as our abode, and then we become His abode (John 15:4; 14:3, 20, 23). Psa. 45:13, note 1 on “daughter”, RcV Bible

Signifying the Christ who has been dealt with through many sufferings and through death and resurrection to become the righteousness of the church to meet the righteous requirement of God that the church may be justified before God (1 Cor. 1:30). Thus, the woven work inwrought with gold refers again to the first layer of covering — Christ as our righteousness, through whom we are justified — signified by the gold of Ophir in v. 9 (see note Psa. 45:94). Cf. note 1 on Exo. 28:39. Psa. 45:13, note 2 on “woven”, RcV Bible

Another garment, the second layer of her covering, signifying that the church will be led to Christ the King clothed with the righteousnesses of the saints to meet the requirement of Christ for their marriage (Rev. 19:8 and note Rev. 19:82b; Matt. 22:11-12 and note Matt. 22:111). The queen in this psalm has two garments. The first garment, “the gold of Ophir” (v. 9), the woven work inwrought with gold (v. 13), corresponds to Christ as our objective righteousness, which is for our justification. The second garment, the embroidered clothing, corresponds to Christ “embroidered” into us by the transforming work of the Spirit and lived out of us as our subjective righteousnesses, which are for our victory. The first garment is put upon us that we may stand in the presence of God (Luke 15:22), whereas the second garment is woven into our character, embroidered into our being, that we may stand before the King. Psa. 45:14, note 1 on “embroidered”, RcV Bible

In Psalm 45:13a…the king’s daughter is the queen signifying the church, and her being all glorious within the royal abode signifies the glorious church taking Christ as her royal abode. The word abode here refers to the church’s taking Christ as her abode. First we, the believers of Christ, take Christ as our abode, and then we become His abode…

𝑪𝒉𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒕 𝒃𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒔 𝒂𝒏 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒅𝒆 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒘𝒆 𝒕𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝑯𝒊𝒎 𝒂𝒔 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒅𝒆, 𝒂𝒃𝒊𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒊𝒏 𝑯𝒊𝒎, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒖𝒔 𝒃𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝑯𝒊𝒔 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒅𝒆 𝒊𝒏 𝑯𝒊𝒎.
