In Amos 9:11-12 we see a great prophecy concerning Christ’s return to restore the people of Israel and all the nations,
In that day I will raise up the fallen tabernacle of David, and I will wall up its breaches and raise up its ruins and build it up as it was in the days of old; that they may possess the remnant of Edom and all the nations which are called by My name, declares Jehovah who does this.
Wow, when Christ as the Real David will return, He will restore the royal family of David and the kingdom of David, and in this restoration, all the nations will be restored and will belong to God!
Our Lord Jesus Christ is the real David who brings all the nations in the kingdom of God, under God’s rule, for God to have dominion over all the earth! Hallelujah for Christ as our real David!
Christ will raise up the tabernacle of David
David was a man after God’s heart, he fought God’s battles, he defeated God’s enemies, he brought in God’s kingdom in Israel, and he prepared the materials for the building of the temple of God. God raised up the tabernacle of David, which is the royal family of David, and He promised David He will always have someone from his family on the throne.
But due to the people of Israel’s leaving God as their source and going after idols, God eventually had to use the nation of Babylon to deal with them, to chastise them in His love.
When Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon came and defeated Israel, he burned Jerusalem, he destroyed the temple, he captured the nation of Israel, he devastated the land, and he carried off the king and his family (together with most of the people) into captivity (see 2 Kings 25:1-21).
This was “the fall of the tabernacle of David”, and this situation has never yet been recovered. But in Amos God promises that one day He would come back to restore the fallen kingdom of David, and when this happens, all Israel will be restored and all the nations will belong to God!
The restoration of the entire universe
I have always wondered why was the Apostle Paul so strong in the book of Romans concerning the fact that right now the Gentiles are saved through Israel’s stumbling – their disobedience brought us salvation and redemption (Rom. 11:11-22)!
They were cut off because of their disobedience, and we, the Gentiles, were grafted into the root of fatness, to be organically joined to the Triune God.
So if right now their disobedience brings us salvation, how much more their repenting and returning to God and to Christ, their Savior (Rom. 11:23-32)!
When Christ will return the second time as the real David, the Messiah, the Savior, all Israel will look upon Him and will repent! Their repentance will bring in restoration for the entire universe! Wow!
This is why we need to pray for the Lord’s return, we need to pray for the people of Israel to be blessed, and we need to prepare and be ready as the overcomers to bring the Lord back.
When Christ returns, there will be the restoration of Israel as the tabernacle of David, and there will be the full restoration of the entire universe! All you can say when you see this as a vision from the Lord is,
O the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and untraceable His ways! For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has become His counselor? (Rom. 11:33-34)
The Gentiles and the Jews will belong to God!
James may have realized this in Acts when they had the famous gathering concerning Peter and Paul’s going to the Gentiles and being with them, preaching the gospel to them, and living in their house.
There was a conference held in Jerusalem with the elders and the apostles concerning whether the Gentiles need to be circumcised, now that they also received the Holy Spirit, and James quoted these verses from Amos (see Acts 15:1-34).
He might have realized what the Lord was doing and he told the Jewish believers in Jerusalem not to be stumbled or bothered by this, because in the restoration all the Gentiles will belong to God, just like the Jews.
Right now most Christians are not Jews but Gentiles, but the true believers, the disciples of Jesus, the born-again Christians, are the spiritual people of God.
You could almost say that God forsook His people Israel for a while, He “cut them off” from His blessing, until they repent and return to Jesus Christ, their Savior, the Messiah, the One whom they renounced of and denied 2000 years ago.
When they return to Christ their King, the real David, the whole earth – with all the nations in it – will be restored back to God! Hallelujah!
Sing to the King who is coming to reign!
What can we say when we see this? We can praise the Lord! We can sing praises to Him! We can just give ourselves to love Him more, be transformed by Him daily, and be conformed to Christ’s image that we may become Christ, the corporate Christ!
We want to be part of the Corporate Christ when He returns to defeat His enemy and bring in restoration to the whole universe! Hallelujah!
Let’s sing together,
Sing we the King who is coming to reign,
Glory to Jesus, the Lamb that was slain;
Righteousness, peace then His empire shall bring,
Joy to the nations when Jesus is King.Chorus:
Come let us sing: Praise to our King,
Jesus our King, Jesus our King:
This is our song, who to Jesus belong:
Glory to Jesus, to Jesus our King.

Lord, we praise You! We praise You as the King, the real David. Thank You, Lord, for bringing salvation to us, to the Gentiles, even though Your earthly people Israel has forsaken You. Oh, Lord, we want to be one with You in Your desire to restore all things, beginning with the nation of Israel. Lord Jesus, return as the Real David to raise up and restore the tabernacle of David! Lord Jesus, come with Your kingdom to rule over all the earth and restore the whole universe!
