Christ will come as Another Angel to Take Possession of the Earth for His Kingdom

As "another Angel", Christ will come to take possession of the sea and the land (Rev. 10:1-2); He will come to declare God's judgement over Babylon the Great and to appear in glory to make the whole earth the kingdom of God (Rev. 18:1-2; 11:15). In the Bible there are quite a few instances where Christ is typified by the Angel of Jehovah; the angel of Jehovah is Christ Himself, and this Christ is the expression of the Triune God Himself. Our Christ is wonderful – He is all-inclusive and all-extensive, and in God’s economy He has become the Angel of Jehovah to fulfill God’s purpose and accomplish what is in His heart.

First, Christ as the Angel of Jehovah was sent by God to save His people from their situation of suffering (see Judges 6:12-22; 13:3-22); today we as God’s people are saved by Him not only inwardly in life but also outwardly in our suffering the Lord is with us, He comforts us, and He tenderly cares for us because it matters to Him concerning us.

Christ as the Angel of God leads God’s people and cares for them in their experience with God (Exo. 14:19); He hasn’t promised us a life of ease but He promised to be with us all the days of our life, and He leads us and cares for us all the time.

Christ as the Angel of Jehovah serves His people as a servant to bring them back to God and to His purpose (Judges 2:1); no matter how far away from God we go and how much we backslide, the Lord comes to us not as a King but as a Servant to gently speak to us and draw us back to Himself.

Christ as the Angel of the covenant is making sure that His people enjoy all the bequests of the new covenant (Mal. 3:1); today Christ is the Executor of the new covenant making sure all the riches of God are our enjoyment, the law of life is imparted into us, God is our God and we are His people, and our sins are forgiven. Hallelujah for Christ as the Angel of Jehovah!

Furthermore, in Revelation we see certain things that Christ as “another Angel” will do in His work in the divine administration: He takes care of God’s people (both the Jews and the believers) to deliver them from the tribulation (Rev. 7), and He executes God’s administration over the whole earth by being the High Priest ministering to God with the prayers of the saints (Rev. 8).

Today we want to see the last two aspects of Christ as another Angel in Revelation: He will come to take possession of the whole earth (both the sea and the land), and He will come to declare God’s judgement over Babylon the Great and to appear in glory to make the whole earth the kingdom of God. Wow, what a Christ we have!

Christ will Come as Another Angel to Take Possession of the Sea and the Land

Rev. 10:1-2 And I saw another strong Angel coming down out of heaven, clothed with a cloud; and the rainbow was upon His head, and His face was like the sun, and His feet like pillars of fire; And He had in His hand a little opened scroll. And He placed His right foot on the sea and the left on the land.In Rev. 10:1-2 we see Christ as another Angel coming to take possession of the sea and the land. Chapter 10 of Revelation is an insertion between the sixth and seventh trumpets, and here Christ is on the way to earth. At this time He’s clothed with a cloud – He’s not yet on the cloud (that is, He’s not yet visible, coming openly, as in Rev. 14:14 and Matt. 24:30, 26:64) but in the cloud (He is coming secretly).

Even after the sixth trumpet, Christ is still coming secretly; He will come secretly until He is seen by all the tribes of the earth (see Rev. 1:7; Matt. 24:30), at which time He will come openly. After He completes the judgement of the world, Christ will come back to take full possession of the earth (see Rev. 10:1-7; 18:1).

Right now the earth belongs to man, and many countries try to expand their territory and struggle for more land; but when Christ comes, all the land and the sea will belong to Him. Christ will come back as another Angel, and He will set His foot on the sea and on the land – He will own the whole earth.

Christ will come to clean up the whole thing, and He will take possession of the whole earth – which is rightfully His (Psa. 2:8). When He comes to take over the earth, Christ will come as One who has been commissioned by God for this purpose, and He will be another Angel with great authority coming in His glory (Rev. 18:1).

He will tread upon the sea and land – He will take possession of them, just as the children of Israel took possession of the land on which their foot was set (Deut. 11:24; Josh. 1:3). Hallelujah, Christ is coming to take possession of the earth! Only Christ is worthy to open the scroll of God’s economy, and only Christ is qualified to come and possess the earth!

Although today we see how Satan usurps the earth and man damages the earth, one day God will tolerate this no longer – He will come as another Angel, a strong Angel, to take possession of what is rightfully His, and He will claim His rightful inheritance – the earth!

Praise the Lord, the whole earth will be the Lord’s! And we as His people will join Him to rule and reign over the earth!

Hallelujah, although the earth and the sea have been usurped by God’s enemy for centuries, one day Christ will tolerate this usurpation no longer but He will come to claim His rightful inheritance (see Psa. 2:8; 24:1)! We don’t know what the earth will be like, but we are looking forward to the day Christ comes to clean the whole earth and take possession of the sea and the land!

Lord Jesus, You are worthy to open the scroll of God’s economy, and You are qualified to possess the earth! We praise You, Lord, as another Angel who will come to set Your foot on the sea and on the land! Lord, make us one with You today to grow in life and experience You for the Body so that we may be the overcomers who will rule and reign with You over the earth! We give You praise, honor, and glory, Lord, for You are worthy and qualified to take possession of the earth, your rightful inheritance!

Christ will Come as Another Angel to Judge Babylon the Great and make the whole Earth the Kingdom of God

Rev. 18:1-2 After these things I saw another Angel coming down out of heaven, having great authority; and the earth was illumined with His glory. And He cried with a strong voice, saying, Fallen, fallen is Babylon the Great!...In Rev. 18:1-2 we see Christ as another Angel coming down out of heaven, having great authority; and the whole earth was illumined with His glory. And He cried with a strong voice, saying, Fallen, fallen is Babylon the Great!

In His work as another Angel, Christ will come to declare God’s judgement over Babylon the Great: His coming as another Angel with His glory will destroy the consummation of what Satan has done in mankind throughout the generations.

Christ’s coming back is in stages: first in the cloud (secretly), then on the cloud (openly), and then He will shine over the earth to destroy Babylon the Great with His great authority. At the end of the great tribulation Christ as another Angel will come to take full possession of the earth as His kingdom, and at this time the material Babylon the Great will suffer judgement and fall.

But we all will rejoice in that day, because the material Babylon the Great, the dwelling place of demons and a hold of every unclean spirit and a hold of every unclean and hateful bird, has fallen!

Today we are still in the age of God’s toleration, the age of grace, in which man has the choice to believe in God and receive Jesus as his life; during this age something hidden is going on which will culminate in Babylon the Great with its religious and material aspects.

Babylon the Great is the consummation of all that Satan has been doing throughout the ages; in its religious aspect Babylon the Great is the Roman Catholic church, and its material aspect it is the city of Rome (see Rev. 17-18 and the footnotes in the Recovery Version Bible).

The whole earth will be trading, doing business, being drugged, and being entangled with Babylon the Great, and when Christ comes as another Angel, He will pronounce judgment over Babylon the Great in its material aspect, and He will appear in glory to make the whole earth His kingdom (Rev. 18:1-2; 11:15).

We have found the local church, our home; / We are home and home indeed! / Nevermore in Babylon we roam; / In the church is all we need. Hymns 1153Oh, may we be the ones who are one with Christ today, giving Him our best cooperation while on earth in the age of grace, so that we may be part of the corporate Christ who will come to bring in the kingdom of God!

May we have our eyes unveiled, our ears opened, and our heart turned to the Lord to hear what He as the Spirit is speaking to the churches so that we may not be drugged by Satan’s world trend but rather be sober, watchful, and ready for the Lord’s return! May we be those who see the Lord in His secret coming, those who are so precious to Him that He will rapture before the great tribulation!

Lord Jesus, we want to be those who give You our best cooperation today in the age of grace so that we may be produced as Your overcomers and be raptured by You before the great tribulation. Lord, we want to be one with You today, opening our whole being to You and allowing You to make Your home in our heart until You get a built-up Body and a prepared Bride for You to return! Come, Lord Jesus! Come and rapture us. Come Lord Jesus as another Angel to declare God’s judgement over Babylon the Great! Lord, Come to make the whole earth the kingdom of God!

Christ is coming down to take possession of the earth. Only He is worthy to open the scroll of God’s economy, and only He is qualified to possess the earth. In Joshua, God told the people that they would possess whatever part of the land the sole of their foot would tread upon [1:3]….Based upon the same principle, Christ, as another Angel sent by God, will come to tread upon the sea and the earth, for the earth and the sea have both been given to Him as His inheritance (Psa. 2:8). Although the earth and sea have been usurped by His enemy, and although He has been tolerating this for centuries, one day He will tolerate it no longer. He will come to claim His rightful inheritance. (Witness Lee, Life-study of Revelation, p. 310)
