Christ in His ascension is on the throne executing the new covenant for us to enjoy all its bequests.
Praise the Lord for the new covenant prophesied by Jeremiah and enacted by the Lord Jesus, according to which God inscribes His law into our mind that we may know Him, He puts His law within us, He is our God and we are His people, we all have a teaching life within us, and He forgives our iniquities and remembers our sins no more. Hallelujah!
May we take the ancient paths of our forefathers by walking in the way of the new covenant focused on the economy of God, for this way leads to life (Jer. 18:15).
May we forsake any bypaths, which are the paths of Satan’s schemes according to his devious stratagems that lead to destruction.
For us to take the bypaths is to go downward, but for us to take the ancient paths, a way that is cast up, is for us to go upward (see Matt. 7:13-14).
Praise the Lord for all our forefathers, those who went before us and cut the way; we can follow them and take the ancient ways of our forefathers by walking in the way of the new covenant.
May we not take the broad way, the way that leads to destruction, but may we enter in through the narrow fate and walk on the constricted way.
Jeremiah prophesied concerning the new covenant which God will make with His people; his prophecy became true when the Lord Jesus enacted the new covenant with His blood.
Hallelujah, Christ came as God incarnated to be a man, He met all the requirements of God’s righteousness, holiness, and glory, and He became the new covenant to us, He enacted the covenant, He is the executor of the covenant, and He makes sure that all the riches and bequests of the new covenant become our experience today.
Christ is our righteousness and redemption, and He qualified us to come forward to God through Him to enjoy God and drink of Him as the fountain of living waters.
Now, as those who have believed into Christ and are in Christ by faith, we are qualified to be in God’s presence, we can know God in an inward way, He is imparting His laws into our heart and mind, and He is inwardly teaching us concerning Himself and all that He is.
His words are our food, and as we eat the Lord in His word, we are filled with joy and rejoicing in our heart.
Christ is the reality of the new covenant with all its bequests and blessings. All we can say is, Praise and thank the Lord for such a wonderful provision!
Enjoying the Wonderful Bequests of the New Covenant Prophesied by Jeremiah and Unveiled in the New Testament
In Jer. 31:31-34 we see the prophecy of the new covenant; the Lord promises that He will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, a covenant not like the one which He made with their fathers when He took them by their hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt.
His people have broke that covenant, even though God was their Husband.
But the new covenant which God will make with them is that He will put His law in their inward parts and write it upon their hearts, and He will be their God, and they will be His people.
And they will no longer teach each other – each man his neighbour and each man his brother – saying, Know Jehovah, for all of them will know God, from the little one among them even to the greater one among them, for God will forgive their iniquity and He will remember their sin no more.
What a wonderful new covenant and how rich are these bequests!
This prophecy lays the foundation of the new covenant which is unveiled in the New Testament; all the twenty-seven books of the New Testament are needed to define and unpack this one short portion in Jeremiah.
According to the new covenant, God promises to put His law within us, write His law into our mind that we may know God, that He will be our God and we will be His people, that we will no longer need anyone to teach us because we all will have a teaching life within us, and that God will forgive our iniquity and remember our sins no longer. Praise the Lord!
As believers in Christ, we have entered into the new covenant with God, and all its bequests are ours to enjoy and experience in our daily Christian life and church life!
First of all, God put the law of life within us; He put Himself as the divine life in us through regeneration, and this life has a law, the law of life.
The law of life in the divine life in our spirit brings us God’s person and also the divine capacity of the divine life, which can accomplish everything for God to fulfill His economy.
According to the new covenant, God does everything for us mainly by putting Himself with His law of life and His Spirit into us, and then He does things in us and through us for the fulfillment of His purpose.
It is by the inner law of life that we have the capacity to know God, live God, and even be constituted with God in His life and nature, with the result that we are His corporate expression!
So as we turn to our spirit, as we enjoy the Lord in His word with the exercise of our mingled spirit, we have the capacity to know God, to live God, and to be constituted with God to become the many members of the Body of Christ the corporate expression of the Triune God!
If we really understand this portion in Jeremiah in the light of the entire New Testament, we will see that in the new covenant we also have the church, the kingdom of God, God’s household, the house of God as the dwelling place of God in our spirit, the new man, and the Body of Christ.
The new covenant bring us in the new millennium, and ultimately it will bring us in the New Jerusalem in the new heaven and the new earth for eternity! Hallelujah!
May we be those who daily contact the Lord and enjoy all the wonderful bequests of the new covenant! In the new covenant, the eternal covenant, God gives us one heart and one way (Jer. 32:39-41).
He gives us one heart to love God, to seek God, to live God, and to be constituted with God so that we may become His corporate expression.
He gives us one way, which is the Triune God Himself as the inner law of life with its divine capacity! And according to the New Testament, this one heart and one way are the one accord, the master key to all God’s blessings (Acts 1:14; 2:46; 4:24; Rom. 15:6).
Thank You Lord for bringing us in the new covenant to enjoy all its rich and wonderful bequests in our daily Christian life. Hallelujah, God puts His law within us, He writes His law into our mind for us to know God, He is our God and we are His people, and we have no need for anyone to teach us for He is inwardly and subjectively teaching us all things! Praise the Lord, in the new covenant God forgives our iniquity and remembers our sins no more! Praise You Lord for coming into us as the law of life to bring us God’s person and the divine capacity of the divine life which can accomplish everything for God to fulfill His economy! Keep us enjoying You day by day in the new covenant to know God, live God, and be constituted with God so that we may be His corporate expression on earth!
Christ in His Ascension is now Executing the New Covenant for us to Enjoy all its Bequests today
Christ was given by God to His people to be a new covenant; He enacted the new covenant in His blood, and now in ascension He is sitting on the throne and executing the new covenant! Hallelujah!
In His heavenly ministry Christ is even more busy than in His earthly ministry; in His earthly ministry He has cut the pathway of the cross, and in heaven He opened a new and living way into the Holy of Holies (Heb. 10:19-20).
He purified the heavens and the things in the heavens with His blood, sprinkling the heavenly tabernacle to purify it.
By ascending to the heavens, Christ confirmed the new covenant and obtained an eternal redemption (Heb. 9:12); the new covenant He consummated on earth was confirmed in the heavens, where He has also obtained a more excellent ministry (Heb. 8:6).
Hallelujah, Christ’s ministry on the throne is more excellent than that of the Old Testament priests in the tabernacle, for He ministers in the heavenly Holy of Holies, and He is executing the new covenant for us to enjoy all its wonderful bequests!
As the One in ascension sitting on the throne in the heavens, Christ is executing the new covenant, which He has bequeathed to us as a testament.
He is interceding for us as the heavenly High Priest and He is ministering to us so that we may realize, experience, and enjoy all the bequests contained in the new testament (Heb. 12:2; 7:25; 8:1-2).
So we need to daily look away unto Jesus – look away unto Him with an undivided attention by turning away from any other object – so that we may be infused with Him and enjoy all the bequests of the new covenant.
The new covenant – which has become the new testament after His death – is the will, and it has been validated by Christ’s death; now this covenant is being executed and enforced by Christ in His resurrection and ascension.
As believers in Christ we have been bequeathed with the new testament, and Christ in His ascension is in the divine and mystical realm of His heavenly ministry executing what He has bequeathed.
He is in the heavens – He is living, He is divine, and He is able to execute the new testament in all its details, and He is making sure that every bequest of the new covenant is available and real to us. Praise the Lord!
Christ is the divine High Priest (Heb. 7:25) in His heavenly ministry; as such a One, He is executing the new covenant by interceding for us.
He always lives to intercede as our heavenly High Priest, and He is praying that we would be brought into the reality of the new covenant.
On one hand Christ has has enacted the new covenant through His death and has become the reality of all the bequests of the new covenant in His resurrection; on the other hand, in His ascension He is now executing the new covenant!
As the Mediator, the Executor of the new covenant, Christ in His heavenly ministry is executing the new testament and He is carrying it out in us every item of its bequests (see Heb. 8:6; 9:15; 12:24).
He makes sure we enjoy all the bequests of the new covenant.
As the surety of the new covenant, Christ is the pledge that everything in the new covenant will be fulfilled; He is the pledge – He guarantees and ensures the effectiveness of the new testament (Heb. 7:22).
Christ is also the Minister of the true tabernacle, the heavenly tabernacle in the heavens; as such a One, He is serving us with all the bequests, the blessings of the new testament.
As our heavenly Minister, Christ makes all the facts of the new covenant effective in our experience. And as the great Shepherd of the sheep, He is shepherding us to consummate the New Jerusalem according to God’s eternal covenant (Heb. 13:20).
We simply need to allow Him to shepherd us and learn to shepherd others according to Him, and we will enjoy all the bequests of the new covenant.
Thank You Lord for cutting the pathway of the cross on earth and opening a new and living way into the Holy of Holies in the heavens! You have purified the heavens and confirmed the new covenant, obtaining an eternal redemption through which we can partake of all the bequests of the new covenant! Hallelujah, our ascended Christ in the heavens is living, divine, and capable to execute the new covenant in every detail, making every bequests in it available and real to us! We open to You, dear Lord, to enjoy all these bequests! We open to Your ministry as the divine High Priest who executes the new covenant by interceding for us to be brought into the reality of the new covenant. We open to Your ministry as the Mediator of the new covenant who executes it to carry out in us every item of its bequests. Oh Lord, thank You for being the Minister of the true tabernacle, serving us with all the bequests and blessings of the new testament! We open to Your shepherding until You produce us to be the New Jerusalem according to God’s eternal covenant!

– A better covenant, / And better promises; / A better law of life / And sacrifice this is. / Redemption’s work, done long ago, / A better blood has made it so. / In Hebrews eight we see / The way to make us whole; / Life planted deep within, / Which spreads into the soul. / The law of life, imparted, still / Inscribed in mind, emotion, will. – We’re under the New Covenant, / With glorious items, three: / The law of life, spontaneous, / Transforming utterly; / We are His people, He’s our God— / Oh, bless’d reality; / We all are fully able now / To know God inwardly. (Hymns #1188)
– Thou art the heav’nly rest to us, / Now dwelling in our spirit, / For us to enter as the land / And all Thy good inherit. / Superior Thou to Aaron too- / Thyself, the offering given, / Thou enteredst, as our Great High Priest, / The holiest place in heaven. (Hymns #188)
