Children of Light Walk in the Light to have the Fruit of the Light Expressing God

And this is the message which we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. 1 John 1:5

We believers in Christ were once darkness but are now light in the Lord, and we need to walk as children of light, one with the Lord, having the fruit of the light; we today walk not according to right and wrong but in love and light to express God, our Father. Amen!

What a wonderful spiritual future we have! We are not only Christians who do our best to fulfill our God’s requirements; we are children of God, even light in the Lord.

We are those who are daily learning to turn our heart to the Lord so that we may have an unveiled face to behold and reflect Him like a mirror. Amen!

We human beings were created in the image of God and according to His likeness, and it is our responsibility and privilege to spend time with God and be infused with God so that we may shine forth God.

We are not here to live our own lives and do our own things, nor are we here to improve ourselves or do things for ourselves.

Our human life is fulfilled and we have a meaning when we behold God and reflect Him.

The meaning of our human life is that we live one with God in all things, reflecting Him and expressing Him in everything we do.

When we are born of our human parents, we have no idea about God and the eternal things.

But when the gospel is preached to us, when the gospel of the glory of God shines on us, we behold the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. Oh, what a glory!

When we see a glimpse of who the Lord Jesus is and are impressed with His person and work, we simply believe into Him.

We are organically joined to Him, and He comes into our spirit as the Spirit to be joined to us in an organic way; now we and the Lord are one spirit.

Our Christian life is a life in this organic union with the Lord. It is a life of continually beholding the Lord’s face in our spirit.

Many times, however, our spiritual face is veiled and we cannot clearly see the Lord in our spirit. So we need to turn our heart to the Lord.

Whenever the heart turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.

On the one hand, we take the initiative to turn our heart to the Lord; on the other hand, the Lord draws us to Himself and He turns our heart to Him.

We simply need to initiate this process, and the Lord will do it in us.

As we turn our heart to Him, we are unveiled and we can behold Him face to face.

Oh, when we behold the Lord in our spirit, we are infused with Him! How wonderful! He infuses us with what He is, and without us even realizing it, we radiate forth God, for His shining is infused into us and shines through us!

This is the Christian life – a life under the Lord’s shining, a life shining forth God!

We are now Light in the Lord, and we Walk as Children of Light to have the Fruit of Light

For you were once darkness but are now light in the Lord; walk as children of light (For the fruit of the light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth). Eph. 5:8-9
Before we believed into the Lord by being shined on Him, we were in darkness, and we were even darkness itself.

But praise the Lord, one day He shined on us and illumined us, and we received Him into us as the light.

Now we are not only in the light but we are light in the Lord, and we walk as children of light to have the fruit of the light (Eph. 5:8-9).

We were once darkness itself but now we are children of light, even light itself (Matt. 5:14).

God is light, and Satan is darkness; light is God, and darkness is Satan.

We were one with Satan and therefore we were darkness, but now we are one with God, and we are light in the Lord. Hallelujah!

Our daily living today is in the light, for we are children of light having the fruit of light.

As God is light, so we as children of God are children of light (1 John 1:5; Eph. 5:8; John 12:36). Amen!

We are not just children of light but are light itself, for we are one with God in the Lord! Hallelujah!

Now that we are light in the Lord, we need to walk in the light.

As we walk in the light, the Lord shines on us and exposes anything of darkness in our being and in our living.

As He shines and exposes anything that does not match Him, we confess our sins, and our fellowship with Him is restored; the result is that we receive more light, more life, and more fellowship of life (1 John 1:7-9).

As we walk in the light, we will have the fruit of the light.

The fruit of the light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth (Eph. 5:9).

This doesn’t mean that we are trying our best to be good people, righteous people, and people who speak the truth.

Rather, goodness and righteousness and truth refer to the Triune God.

Goodness denotes God the Father, for the only one who is good is God Himself (Matt. 19:17).

Righteousness denotes God the Son, for Christ came to accomplish God’s purpose according to God’s righteous procedure, and He Himself has become our righteousness (Rom. 5:17-21; 1 Cor. 1:30).

Truth denotes God the Spirit, for He is the Spirit of reality, the Spirit of truth, who guides us into all the reality (John 14:17).

For us to have the fruit of the light as we walk in the light means that we enjoy and experience the Triune God so that He may be expressed through us in all goodness and righteousness and truth. This is so wonderful!

We don’t need to try to do or speak anything; we simply need to walk in the light as children of light, and the Lord will live in us to bear the fruit of the light.

When we walk in the light, we will simply have all goodness and righteousness and truth.

We will express God as goodness, we will live in a righteous way by being one with the Lord, and we will be in reality, speaking the truth and walking by being guided by the Spirit of reality. Amen!

And He said to him, Why do you ask Me concerning what is good? There is [only] One [who is] good. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments. Matt. 19:17 In order that just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness unto eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Rom. 5:21 But when He, the Spirit of reality, comes, He will guide you into all the reality; for He will not speak from Himself, but what He hears He will speak; and He will declare to you the things that are coming. John 6:13
All we need to do is remain in the light, being children of light in reality.

Thank the Lord that God has delivered us out of the satanic darkness into the divine light (Acts 26:18; 1 Pet. 2:9)!

Now we are in the light, and the divine life in the Son operates in us.

The divine life in us shines – it is full of light, and it shines in all the parts of our inner being.

Even though we were delivered out of darkness, there still are some parts of our being in darkness, and the Lord’s life shines in us to expose any darkness.

Thank the Lord that His light shines in the darkness within us and the darkness cannot overcome it (John 1:4-5)!

May we follow the light and by no means walk in darkness (8:12).

When we walk as children of light bearing the fruit of light, we will not live in the darkness of sin (1 John 1:7-8).

Rather, as children of light, we will bear the fruit of the light, which is good in nature, righteous in procedure, and real in expression, and God will be expressed as the reality of our daily walk. Amen!

May this be our reality today in our personal life and in our church life.

May we bear the fruit of light as we walk in the light, expressing God as the reality of our daily walk.

Thank You, Lord, for delivering us out of the satanic darkness and bringing us into the divine light! Hallelujah, we are now children of light walking in the light. Even more, we are now light in the Lord! Wow, Lord, we were once darkness but now are light in the light in the Lord! Amen, Lord, we want to walk in the light as children of light so that we may bear the fruit of the light. Shine in us, Lord, and expose any darkness in our being. May God as light shine in our being to dispel all the darkness and illuminate all the dark parts. We want to walk in the light. We confess our sins under Your shining, and we receive the cleansing of Your precious blood. Hallelujah, the blood of Christ cleanses us from every sin, and we can live in the light and walk in the light as children of light! Praise the Lord, God is light and in Him is no darkness at all! Amen, Lord, thank You for making us light in the Lord. We want to bear the fruit of the light, which is good in nature, righteous in procedure, and real in expression! Amen, Lord, may God be expressed as the reality of our daily walk!

As Children of Light, we Live in Love and Light to Express God in our Daily Living

While you have the light, believe into the light, so that you may become sons of light... John 12:36 You are the light of the world. It is impossible for a city situated upon a mountain to be hidden. Matt. 5:14
When some Christians hear that we were in darkness and now we are light in the Lord, and that we have to bear the fruit of the light in all goodness and righteousness and truth, they try to manufacture their own goodness, their own righteousness, and their own version of the truth.

This is not what the Lord intends for us to do.

We simply need to realize we are children of light and walk in the light (1 John 1:7).

We are children of light, and we walk in the light so that we may be one with the Lord and have Him expressed through us.

Collectively, we are the church as the bride of Christ, and we walk not just in reality and grace but in love and light.

God is love and God is light; love is the nature of God’s essence and light is the nature of God’s expression.

Reality is the expression of light, for when God is expressed, He comes to us as truth, reality.

Grace is the expression of God’s love, for when He expresses His love toward us, He comes to us as grace, even full of grace. Amen!

What does it mean for us to walk in the light by living in love and light?

This can be illustrated by our living in the married life; a proper marriage is not merely according to reality and by grace but is in love and in light.

It would be pitiful if a married couple would behave according to right and wrong, with nothing of love and light.

When a husband speaks to his wife, he should not deal with her according to what he thinks is right; rather, he should be with her in love and in light.

When we walk in the light habitually, when we as children of light walk in the light and bear the fruit of the light, we don’t need to think that we should do the right thing and not the wrong thing – we simply live out Christ, and we will be in grace and reality.

But when we do not walk in the light, we consider that we should do what is right and reject what’s wrong; the result is that we do not live out Christ. Oh, Lord Jesus!

When we are in the light, when we’re walking in the light in a habitual way, we are outside of the realm of right and wrong.

If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and are not practicing the truth; But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from every sin. If we say that we do not have sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:6-9
We simply walk in the light as children of light, and the Lord is expressed through us in a normal, spontaneous, and organic way.

We don’t need to try to express Christ; He is expressed through us, for we walk in the light, as He is in the light.

We don’t need to try to fellowship with others, for in the light we simply fellowship with God and with one another.

When we’re in the darkness, however, we try to discern, to guess, and to grope for a way to do things.

Whenever we realize we’re trying to discern or guess what we should do, instead of reading the Bible more to find out what the Bible says about that situation, we should simply repent and walk in the light.

As children of light, we should walk in love and light, loving God and living in the light, and we will have His leading, we will sense His presence, and we will express Him.

We may sense that we are about to lose our temper with our spouse; in that moment we don’t need to think about what is the right thing to do but simply remain in the realm of the light.

When we walk in the light, as the Lord Himself is the light, we will not lose our temper, we will not raise our voice, and we will not react in the flesh; we will simply express the Lord.

May the Lord train us to live in this realm, the realm of love and light, so that we may be children of light walking in the light and bearing the fruit of light.

Lord Jesus, we love You and we open to You. We want to live in the light and walk in the light, even as You are in the light. Amen, Lord, in the light we can sense Your leading and we can have fellowship with God and with one another. We want to walk in the light today. Save us from living and behaving according to the principle of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Save us from living or speaking according to right and wrong. Oh, Lord Jesus! We want to be prepared as Your bride by living in love and in light today. Hallelujah, we are children of light walking in the light to bear the fruit of the light and have God expressed through us and in us in our daily living! Amen, Lord Jesus, keep us in the light today. Keep us enjoying Your shining, allowing Your shining to reach every part of our inner being, and agreeing with Your light as it exposes any darkness in us. We do not want to remain in darkness. We want to walk in the light and in love so that You may be expressed through us.

The apostles,…as the examples and representatives of all believers, are the ministers of Christ. In 2 Corinthians 3:8-9 the glory is related to the ministry of the new covenant. [In verse 18] the glory is related to the apostles, the ministers of the new covenant. This shows that the ministry of the new covenant is not merely an activity carried out by the new covenant ministers; rather, it is what the new covenant ministers are. They are one with their ministry, for the same invisible glory saturates and pervades both their work and their being, so that there is no difference between the two. 2 Cor. 3:18, footnote 2, Recovery Version Bible

[The expression] the Lord Spirit…strongly proves and confirms that the Lord Christ is the Spirit and the Spirit is the Lord Christ. In 2 Corinthians 3, this Spirit is revealed as the inscribing Spirit (v. 3), the Spirit who gives life (v. 6), the ministering Spirit (v. 8), the freeing Spirit (v. 17), and the transforming Spirit (v. 18). Such an all-inclusive Spirit is crucial to the ministers of Christ and to their ministry for God’s new covenant economy. After speaking about the ministry of the new covenant, the apostle spoke about the ministers of the new covenant. From verse 12 through verse 18 he depicted the new covenant ministers as persons whose hearts have turned to the Lord, whose faces are unveiled, who are enjoying the Lord as the Spirit, freeing them from the bondage of the law, and who are being transformed into the image of the Lord by beholding and reflecting Him. Through such a process of transformation they are constituted ministers of Christ by the Spirit with the elements of Christ’s person and work. Hence, their person is constituted of and with Christ, and their ministry is to minister Christ to others, infusing them with the all-inclusive Christ as the indwelling, life-giving Spirit. All believers should imitate such ministers to be the same kind of person and to accomplish the same kind of ministry. 2 Cor. 3:18, footnote 11, Recovery Version Bible

Although it is rather easy to understand the difference between love and grace, it is more difficult to understand the distinction between light and reality. Perhaps it will help if I illustrate from my own experience in married life. My wife and I have been married for a good many years. During this time, I cannot recall ever dealing with her according to what I thought was right.

On the contrary, by the Lord’s enabling, I have behaved toward her always in light. When we are in the light, we are outside the realm of right and wrong.

There is no need to discern what is right and what is wrong, what we should do and what we should not do. If we are in the light, we simply act and behave spontaneously in a certain way. However, when we are in darkness, we need to discern, to guess, and to grope for a way to do things. But when we are in the light, there is no need for groping, guessing, or discerning.

Suppose I am about to lose my temper with my wife. There is no need for me at such a time to ask if this is according to reality…If we remain…in the realm of light, there will be no need for such considerations. As those in the light, we will not try to discern whether or not it is right to lose our temper at that particular time.

Dear brother, we were once darkness but are now light in the Lord! Hallelujah!

Now we need to walk as children of light, enjoying and experiencing the Father as the One who is good, the Son as our righteousness, and the Spirit of reality to have the fruit of the light – goodness and righteousness and truth!

May we not live according to right and wrong but in love and light to enjoy God as grace and live Him out as our reality.

Lord Jesus, we want to walk in the light. Keep us in the light and shine in us and through us today!

Although we were once darkness itself, as those who are now in the light of the Lord, we must walk as children in the light.

If we are walking and living in the light then we will bear the fruit of the light – being good according to the nature of God the Father; righteous in procedure according to God the Son, and in truth, real in expression according to the Spirit, our living will be in love and light, expressing the Triune God in our daily Christian walk.

Amen.

Keep us in the light today that You may shine forth!

Amen, the ministry very often uses the example of our marriage to show us where we are.

I know I can act ‘spiritually’ in the meetings but I can’t keep it up in my closest relationship, in my marriage.

But if I can walk in love and light in my married life and home life, then my living with the saints will follow and be genuine.

Amen, brother. We need something deeper than reality & grace.

There’s the need for love & light.

When we’re in the realm of love & light, we spontaneously act & behave in a way that’s good in nature, righteous in procedure, and real & truthful in expression.

We are the light of the world when we are light itself.

Amen, now we are light because we are one with God in the Lord.

Once we were darkness and in darkness, now we are light and in light.

For god to be expressed we must be fruit of the light in goodness, righteousness and truth as the expression of the Triune God.

When we can behave towards each other as light there is no need for guessing and discerning the right or wrong.

Lord may we be those who are guided by light in all aspects of our lives, please guide us today Father

In the Old Testament, God was shrouded in darkness. He was in the Holy of Holies, and man could not see Him. In the Holy Place there was a lamp, and in the outer court there was the sun, but in the Holy of Holies, there was no light at all. God was an unknown God there. Man could only make conjectures about Him.

But thank the Lord that today God has been manifested in Jesus of Nazareth. God is now in the light; He is no longer in darkness. Today God is a known God, a revealed God. When you see God today, you know that He is God. The gospel concerning Jesus of Nazareth is the revelation of God. The shining out of the light of the gospel is the shining out of God.

When the light of the gospel shines out, we see God. I am not saying that we should not be holy or that we should not reject sin. I am saying that this verse tells us that as God is in the light, we should therefore walk in the light. As God has manifested Himself in the light of the gospel, even so we should see God in the light of the gospel. We no longer look for God in the Old Testament. Today God has manifested Himself. If He had not manifested Himself, we would be hopeless.

If He had not manifested Himself, we would still be bewildered, not knowing what kind of God He is. We would still have to make conjectures about Him. Thank God that He has been manifested. Today our God is no longer a “backstage” God. He is now the “onstage” God, the revealed God. The word revelation is apocalypsis in Greek. Apo means away, and calypsis means veil. Hence, apocalypsis means the taking away of a veil. I used to watch theater performances. Onstage there is always a thick curtain. You do not know what is behind the curtain. An apocalypsis is the opening up of the curtain.

Wonderful portion and comments. Thank you saints!

Last week I was sharing some truths of the Lord with an acquaintance, a
non-believer. Regarding sin, guilt, forgiveness… she feels she is completely ok. She feels no need to confess or forgive. She is secure in her own (extremely flawed) righteousness.

Though I am somewhat shocked by this, perhaps because she lives a human life that is upright and virtuous, I realize it is all darkness. Without Christ in one’s heart, it is all darkness, darkness disguised as light.

The Lord showed me that this was in fact my condition before I was saved: self-righteous, unrepentant, judging others, critical, grateful to humans but not to Him. This is a life without Light.

How amazingly fortunate and blessed we all are to have His light. How wonderful that we do not need to weigh rights and wrongs, good and bad, but just simply turn to His Light, where all is revealed and all is supplied for a righteous, forgiving, grateful and loving walk with Him and by Him. Let me/we praise Him more for this glorious reality that we have done nothing to deserve. And be His Light to the perishing world.

Amen saints. Love you all!
