A Vision of the Throne of God: God is on the Throne Ruling over all Things for His Economy

...know that the heavens do rule. Dan. 4:26

As believers in Christ, we need to see a spiritual vision of the throne of God as the center of God’s administration throughout the universe. Amen, the heavens rule, and God is on the throne behind the scenes!

This week in our morning revival we come to the topic of, Seeing a Vision of the Throne of God, the Spiritual Scene behind the World Situation, and Christ as the Center of God’s Administration.

We realize that we live in a very particular time in human history, even in the last days of this age; there are a lot of things happening around us, besides the pandemic, and the whole world situation is being prepared for the Lord’s return.

So we want to be here looking to the Lord for Him to open up the heavens so that we may see something according to His heart and know what He wants to work out in these days.

Three of the books of the Bible that in particular speak of visions revealing the end days are the books of Daniel, Revelation, and Ezekiel; we may even say that Ezekiel is a “sister-book” to Revelation.

In these books we see how God presented particular visions to His servants to reveal to them what He wants to carry out in these last days in relation to the world situation, so that He would work out His eternal economy to consummate this age.

Today we want to enter into the same vision as these ones saw, for we realize that if we want to go on with the Lord and cooperate with Him in these final days, we need to see these visions.

In particular this week we want to look at three aspects of these visions: first we want to see the throne of God, see the spiritual scene behind the world situation, and Christ as the center of God’s administration.

Before all things, we need to see a spiritual vision of the throne of God; this throne is not the same as the throne of grace presented by Paul in Hebrews, the throne to which we come forward and fellowship with God, thus receiving grace.

The throne of God is the throne in the heavens, the throne of His authority to carry out His divine administration.

We need to see that there’s a spiritual scene behind the world situation; outside of us there are a lot of things happening in the terms of the world situation, the coronavirus pandemic, the countries on earth, and all the contention, but we must realize that there’s a spiritual scene behind what we see in the physical world.

Finally, we want to see Christ as the center of God’s administration; this is the most important seeing of all.

We don’t want to merely see, understand, interpret, and know what’s happening around us, but most of all we want to see Christ, who is the center of God’s administration.

We need to See a Spiritual Vision of the Throne of God as the Center of God’s Administration throughout the Universe

Immediately I was in spirit; and behold, there was a throne set in heaven, and upon the throne there was One sitting. Rev. 4:2In both Daniel, Revelation, and Ezekiel we see that one of the first things revealed in the seeing of the vision is the matter of God’s throne.

We must see that there is a throne in the heavens. Outwardly we see a lot of things happening around us, and we realize there are many sufferings and unpleasant things; but we need to remember that, in spite of all these things, there is a throne in the heavens!

Hallelujah, God is on the throne, and the throne is the place where God made all the decisions and executes His will!

In these final days of God’s economy, as we see God closing in and desire to speed up the conclusion of this age, we need to see a spiritual vision of the throne of God.

Yes, there is the throne of grace as in Heb. 4:16, where we can come forward to receive mercy and find grace, thus enjoying God; however, there’s also the throne of God’s authority from which and by which God carries out His divine administration to work out His economy.

In Rev. 4:2 and 5:1 John was in spirit, and he saw there was a throne set up in heavens; similarly, in Ezek. 1:26 Ezekiel saw the likeness of a throne above the crystal clear firmament above the living creatures.

When we see the vision of the throne of God, we realize that God is the sovereign One, and He has the full capacity to carry out what He wants according to the desire of His heart and according to His eternal economy (Rev. 4:11; Dan. 5:35; Rom. 9:19-24).

Whether we like what is happening around us or not, God is sovereign; at the end of the day we need to bow our head and admit this.

We need to realize there’s a God in the universe, the all-sovereign God, who ordains everything. It is because of God’s will that we were and were created (Rev. 4:11); it all started out with His will.

The will of God is what God wants, His determined intention; God doesn’t do things at random or in a loose way but rather, He has a will, He designed a plan to work out that will, and according to that will He does all things.

When and where we were born, when we will be saved, when we come into the church life, and all things in our life were determined by the will of God.

We are the clay – He is the Potter; the clay cannot tell the Potter, I don’t like the way You made me or shaped me…Rather, God shows mercy to whomever He wants to show mercy, for He is the sovereign One.

Jehovah’s counsel stands forever; His intentions stand from generation to generation (Psa. 33:11).

God doesn’t need advisers – He is on the throne, He has absolute authority, and we should be reminded that there’s One in the heavens on the throne, having the full capacity to carry out what He wants according to the desire of His heart and according to His eternal economy.

God is on the throne behind the scene ruling over everyone and everything (Isa. 6:1; 1 Kings 22:19).

Do we see the vision of the throne of God behind the scene? Or do we just see the things visible before us, the rebellion of man, the immorality, the corruption, the COVID-19 pandemic, this one doing this to that one, etc…

Outwardly there are these presidents, kings, queens, prime-ministers or CEOs who seem to be in control, ruling and reigning and thinking they know what they are doing.

And above the expanse that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, like the appearance of a sapphire stone; and upon the likeness of the throne was One in appearance like a man, above it. Ezek. 1:26But God is on the throne, and when He allows this coronavirus to sweep across the earth, everyone is humbled, and we all realize that there is Someone higher than us, more powerful than us, who behind the scenes rules over everyone and everything.

We don’t know why did the coronavirus pandemic happened and how long it will go on, and we don’t have the answers to questions like these, but God knows, and only He can do something as drastic, extensive, and severe as this pandemic.

With one word God can stop the virus immediately, but He allows it to continue because He knows, according to His will, there is something He still needs to be carried out for the punishment and judgement of the rebellious nations.

Everything concerning the world situation is decided on the throne, and nothing can happen outside the rule of God’s throne (Job 1:6-12; 2:1-6).

We need to be comforted by this word, realizing that no one should be blamed for this or that, for all things are under the throne of God, and He is the One who allows things to happen and He makes the decision.

And as we see in the book of Job, God allows even Satan to inflict suffering on His beloved, causing them much loss, so that He may carry out His will.

Even this current virus situation cannot happen without God’s ruling, His permitting. May we bow our knee and be humbled under God’s hand, having a vision of the throne of God and telling Him,

Lord, we praise You that You are on the throne, You rule over all things, and everything is under Your control. Hallelujah, God is on the throne behind the scene ruling over everyone and everything so taht He may carry out His will and accomplish His economy. Lord, we acknowledge Your sovereignty in all things. Nothing happens by accident but rather, all things are under the throne in the heavens to carry out what God wants according to the desire of His heart and according to God’s eternal economy. We praise You, Lord, and we want to be one with You!

All the Kings and Kingdoms of the World are under God’s Administration: God is on the Throne Ruling over All Things

You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive the glory and the honor and the power, for You have created all things, and because of Your will they were, and were created. Rev. 4:11 And all the inhabitants of earth are considered as nothing, / But He does according to His will in the army of heaven / And among the inhabitants of the earth; / And there is no one who can resist His hand / Or say to Him, What are You doing? Dan. 4:35The book of Revelation in particular is a book of God’s administration, for it unveils the throne of God for the divine administration (see Rev. 4:2; 5:1; 6:16; 7:9; 8:3; 21:5).

The throne in Rev. 4 and 5 is the throne of divine authority. Apparently the throne is invisible and not realized by man; actually, the throne of God is behind the scene ruling over everyone and everything.

When we look around us we see many things, events, and situations; we see rulers, kings, prime-ministers, presidents; we see many countries and nations who rise and fall.

If we look at the last six thousand years of history, many kingdoms rose and fell, rulers came and went.

Even some like Hitler, Mussolini, and Stalin, powerful rulers, who thought they could conquer the world and do what they want. Where are they today? They are all gone.

God lives forever, Christ is still here reigning and ruling behind the scene in an invisible way.

Today we have a certain set of rulers and presidents and prime-ministers, and they think they are the best, the most powerful, and nothing can stop them in what they want to do.

Just wait for a bit, in a few years, they will be gone. We must see the vision of the throne of God behind the world scene, realizing that all the kings with all their kingdoms are under God’s administration, for God is on the throne ruling over all tings.

As Acts 17:36 points out, God appointed seasons and set the boundaries for all the nations.

When we look back at human history, in particular in the last two thousand years, we see the Roman empire at Christ’s birth, then the Roman Catholic church; then God strengthened German, then Spain came into power promoting Catholicism, then God suddenly strengthened the British who defeated the Spanish armada, causing Britain to rise to power.

But Britain was not in power forever, for after World War Two the United States of America, a young country that was newly discovered, was raised up by God to become a world power. This is all God’s doing.

We see this in the Old Testament history also; Nebuchadnezzar was the king over the empire of Babylon, and he was eventually replaced by Belshazzar, whose debauchery in Dan. 5 was an insult to God and was slain, and in one night Darius the Mede took over his kingdom.

Then Cyrus issued the decree to release the captives of Israel to return to Judah to rebuild the temple and the city of Jerusalem, and all the vessels of the temple were returned.

In order to deal with…evil human government, Christ as the Son of Man must receive the kingdom (Dan. 7:13-14). On the one hand, Christ is in the heavens as the One who has received the kingdom. On the other hand, Christ is in us as the life-giving Spirit (1 Cor. 15:45b). As our Redeemer, He terminated the old creation by His crucifixion. As the One in resurrection, He has germinated the new creation, and today He is working within us as His new creation. He is also our Companion in the burning furnace (Dan. 3). As such a wonderful One, He is preparing everything for His coming back to exercise His dominion over the whole earth. Witness Lee, Life-study of Daniel, p. 84Nebuchadnezzar was one with Satan, while Cyrus (according to Isaiah) was set by God as a shepherd to care for His people.

This is all God’s doing; no one can boast that his kingdom lasts forever and their system is still here – God is on the throne, He is controlling all things, and He is setting boundaries for every nation.

Even when and where we were born, how we got saved, how and when we came into the church life, all these matters are under His control.

The book of Daniel shows that all the kings and kingdoms of the world are under God’s administration (7:9-10; 2:34-35).

God caused Nebuchadnezzar to know that he was nothing and that the mighty God, the Rule ruler over the kingdom of men, the One who gives the kingdom to whomever He wills, is everything (Dan. 4:34-37).

The entire world situation today is under the rule of the heavens by the God of the heavens (v. 26). May we see a vision of the throne of God and realize that God is on the throne and the whole world situation is under His rule.

Hallelujah, the entire world situation is under the rule of the heavens by the God of the heavens, for the heavens rule! Amen, Lord, we praise You that all the kings and kingdoms of the world are under Your administration, for God is on the throne and He rules over all things. May we see a vision of the throne of God and realize that God is on the throne for the divine administration, and He is behind the scene ruling over everyone and everything to accomplish His economy. Wow, God is the Mighty God, the Ruler over the kingdom of men, the One who gives the kingdom to whomever He wills! Praise You Lord!
