Enjoying Christ day by day as the Reality of all our Necessities in our Spirit

We need to Enjoy Christ day by day as the Reality of all our Necessities: He is our breath, our drink, our food, our light, our clothing, and our dwelling place.

Our all-inclusive Christ is the reality of everything positive in the universe; we need to enjoy Christ day by day as the reality of all our necessities, for Christ is our breath, our drink, our food, our light, our clothing, and our dwelling place.

Everything we need, He is.

The gospel of John shows us that Christ is the reality of all our necessities; furthermore, this book is on faith and love, for it starts with faith (John 1:19, believing into the Lord to receive Him) and it ends in ch. 21 with love.

The gospel of John shows us how we can alternately experience faith in our union with the Lord in the mingled spirit, and love in our enjoyment with Him there.

As we grow in life, we grow in faith and in love. As we are taking Christ as the reality of all the positive things, the first thing we see is that everything around us in our environment is a reminder of the One we love.

All the positive things that the Lord put around us and in us are a type, a reminder, a symbol, of the all-inclusive Christ, and they are an encouragement for us to enjoy Christ as the all-inclusive, extensive One.

He dwells in our mingled spirit, and He is the reality of all our necessities; Christ is our breath, our drink, our food, our life, our clothing, and our dwelling place.

So whatever we do and whatever we need day by day should be a reminder to us about Christ as the reality of that very thing.

If we daily practice to take Christ as the reality of all the material things in our daily life, we will be revolutionized and transformed in our daily walk, and we will be full of Christ!

Christ is our prize; He is our enjoyment, and He is the reality of all the shadows. May no one defraud us of our prize by considering us unworthy to enjoy Christ.

May no one and nothing defraud us of the subjective enjoyment and experience of Christ.

For example, if someone steals our bag with all our documents and our laptop, we are defrauded and we don’t even know it.

If we do not enjoy Christ as the reality of every positive thing in the universe, we are defrauded and we don’t even know it. We shouldn’t be defrauded; we may be robbed once from the enjoyment of Christ, but we should not let this happen again and again.

He is our exceedingly great reward (Gen. 15:1) as we come to Him to enjoy Him. And when we get to know Him, we have the excellency of the knowledge of Jesus Christ our Lord (Phil. 3:8).

He is the reality of every positive thing, and as we pursue Him, we enjoy Him as the reality of all our necessities and of all the positive things.

We need to Enjoy Christ day by day as the Reality of All our Necessities: He meets all our needs!

We need to enjoy Christ day by day as the reality of all our necessities. Christ is our breath — John 20:22. Christ is our drink — 4:10, 14; 7:37-39a. Christ is our food — 6:35, 57. Christ is our light — 1:4; 8:12. Christ is our clothing — Gal. 3:27. Christ is our dwelling place — John 15:5, 7a.In the Gospel of John there are six major items of the enjoyment of Christ in spirit, that is, there are six major items of Christ being the reality of all our necessities.

Christ is our life (John 1:4; 10:10), which is the first and most basic matter; Christ is our bread and food supply (6:35); Christ is the living water for us to drink (4:14; 7:37); Christ is the breath of life (20:22); Christ is the light of life (8:12); and Christ is our dwelling place (15:4-5).

In order for us as human beings to exist, that is, for our human life to be maintained, we need air, food, water, and light.

Without the sunlight on earth all the living things will die. If we don’t breathe air constantly, we will die. If we don’t eat and drink properly, our life will decrease and eventually die.

Christ came and said that He is the reality of all our necessities, and everything we need, He is.

However, we may have the knowledge, the doctrine, and the teaching that Christ is our life, our food, our water, our air, our light, and our abode, but do we know the way to enjoy Him as such a One in our daily life?

We need to know the practical way for us to enjoy Christ as the food to eat, our living water to drink, our fresh air to breath, our light to walk in, and our dwelling place in which to abide.

How can we enjoy Christ as the reality of all our necessities? It is by exercising our spirit, for the divine Spirit (who is the realization of the all-inclusive Christ) is mingled with our human spirit (Rom. 8:16; 1 Cor. 6:17).

The Lord Jesus accomplished His redemption work on the cross, passed through death, and entered into resurrection, where He became the life-giving Spirit (1 Cor. 15:45).

Now as the Spirit He dwells in our spirit and is mingled with our spirit (2 Cor. 3:17; 2 Tim. 4:22); Hallelujah, the Lord is with our spirit!

When we come to the Word of God, therefore, we need to exercise our spirit so that we may enjoy Christ as the reality of all our necessities; as we exercise our spirit, we eat Him, drink Him, breathe Him, are covered by Him, and we dwell in Him.

If we don’t exercise our spirit, however, our spiritual life will not be properly maintained, for we will be spiritually malnourished.

So everything we see around us, especially the things that we need for our human sustenance, for our human life to exist, should remind us of Christ, and we need to take Christ as the reality of that thing.

Merely knowing that Christ is our light, our food, our air, our drink, our covering, and our dwelling place does not work; we need to exercise our spirit and practically apply Christ and take Him as the reality of all our necessities.

Whatever we need, He is! Whatever we need for us to exist humanly, psychologically, and spiritually, He is!

For us to have a proper human life, family life, church life, work life, and personal life, we need to take Christ as the reality of all our necessities, for only He can supply us to live and exist.

Lord Jesus, we take You as the reality of all our necessities in our daily life, for whatever we need, You are! Amen, Lord Jesus, You are our real food for us to eat and be supplied. You are our real living water to quench our thirst. You are our real fresh air, the living air, that gives us life. You are the real covering, and we are clothed in You. Lord, You are our real dwelling place, and we are becoming Your dwelling place. May we exercise to daily take You as the reality of all the positive things and as the reality of all our necessities so that our daily life will be filled with Christ!

Enjoying Christ as our Breath, Drink, Food, Light, Clothing, and Dwelling Place

And when He had said this, He breathed into them and said to them, Receive the Holy Spirit. John 20:22 But whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall by no means thirst forever; but the water that I will give him will become in him a fountain of water gushing up into eternal life. John 4:14 Jesus said to them, I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me shall by no means hunger, and he who believes into Me shall by no means ever thirst. John 6:35When the Lord came to His disciples in the evening of the day of His resurrection, He breathed into them and said, Receive the Holy Spirit (John 20:22).

When we receive the gospel and believe into the Lord, He is breathing Himself into us, and we receive life; we then start our spiritual life with the Lord, and the first and foremost thing we need to do is to breathe Christ as our spiritual, fresh, living air.

How do we breathe in Christ?

We need to call on the name of the Lord; our calling is our breathing, and our prayer is also our breathing. This means that, the more we call on the name of the Lord – whether audibly or inwardly – we breathe in the Spirit as our spiritual air.

Breathing is something spontaneous, something that we don’t even have to think about – it is natural, normal, and not deliberate but automatic and spontaneous. Prayer and calling on the name of the Lord should become so normal to us!

Christ is also our drink; He was processed and consummated to become the living Spirit, the life-giving Spirit, who is the living water for us to drink (John 4:10, 14; 7:37-39).

When we come to the Lord we shouldn’t merely seek to have more knowledge but we should drink of Him! He is flowing as a river of water of life to supply all His redeemed ones, and we should simply exercise to drink of Him!

Christ is also our food; we can eat Him in His word, for His words are spirit and are life (John 6:35, 57).

As we eat Christ, we live because of Him, for we become what we eat; as we eat Christ, He constitutes us with Himself, and He becomes the person living in us and being expressed through us.

Christ is our light; in Him was life, and life was the light of men (John 1:4), and He came as a light shining so that we would no longer remain in darkness (8:12).

Whenever we are not one with the Lord, that is, whenever we are not in spirit, we are in darkness.

Regardless of how much we may read the Bible or have Bible knowledge, as long as we are out of the spirit, we’re in darkness, for the place of light is in our human spirit, which is regenerated and indwelt by the Holy Spirit (Prov. 20:27).

When we’re not in our spirit, we are either in the flesh (which is full of sin, and is darkness) or in the self (which is independent from God, so is in darkness).

I am the light of the world; he who follows Me shall by no means walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. John 8:12 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. Gal. 3:27 I am the vine; you are the branches. He who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit; for apart from Me you can do nothing. John 15:5No matter how much we try to seek guidance from the Lord in our soul, we are still in darkness unless we exercise our spirit.

So whenever we have a problem, instead of trying to solve it, we should simply come into the light; we should exercise our spirit to contact the Lord, turn to our spirit, and everything will be clear!

Christ is our real clothing; we were baptized into Christ and we put on Christ (Gal. 3:27), and now we are covered in Christ.

So we need to put off the old man and put on the new man, Christ Himself, so that in our daily living He would be the One living.

Christ is our dwelling place; He grafted us into Himself, and we simply need to abide in Him as He abides in us (John 15:5, 7).

When we abide in Him and He abides in us, we enjoy all His riches, and He becomes the reality of all our necessities.

Lord Jesus, we want to learn to daily enjoy You and apply You as the reality of all our necessities. We exercise our spirit, Lord to contact You and take You as our life, our food, our drink, our air, our clothing, and our dwelling place. You are the real food for us to eat, the real living water to quench our thirst, the fresh air for us to breath, the living light for us to walk in, our clothing and covering, and our real dwelling place! Amen, Lord Jesus, You are the reality of everything that we need, and You indwell us to supply us constantly!
