Christ as the Peace Offering is for the Fellowship and Enjoyment of both God and ManAs seen in type in Leviticus 3, Christ as the peace offering is for the fellowship and enjoyment of five parties – God, the serving priest, all the priests (the priesthood), the offerer, and the congregation of cleansed people.

In other words, the peace offering is “God’s party” for all His people, whether they are serving or not, so that His people would enjoy God in peace and fellowship, based on the sprinkled blood.

Our enjoyment of Christ as the peace offering needs to increase, be deepened, be expanded, and be heightened, so that we may offer the Christ we have enjoyed and experienced to God for His satisfaction.

The best application of enjoying Christ as the peace offering is at the Lord’s Table meeting. Here we enjoy not only the fact that Christ has made peace for us, and therefore we can come forward to God to enjoy Him based on the sprinkled blood of Christ.

Even more, at the Lord’s Table we come to enjoy Christ with God and with one another in peace and fellowship, full of joy and rejoicing. Christ not only died for us to be our Redeemer, but He is our portion for our enjoyment, now that we have been reconciled to God.

Our Christian life should be a life of enjoying the Christ of God, so that we may have something to bring to the meeting, especially at the Lord’s table meeting, for God’s satisfactory worship.

The Lord’s table meeting is many times a routine for believers, and most of so-called Christian worship is actually an hypocritical exercise; people don’t live that way, but they put on a show, a facade, when they “go to church” or when they come to meeting.

In the Catholic church, for example, the Lord’s table is called “eucharist”, but it is actually an utterly dead, lifeless, hypocritical show.

The Lord’s supper, which used to be the center of the church life, has been turned, and many times it is a mysterious exercise, a rite, a ritual, a mass, where people dress in a certain way and eat particular things. In the Protestant churches there’s “the holy communion”, depending on the branch, many times almost indistinguishable from the practice in the Catholic Church.

Through the light brought in by the British Brethren we have seen that this cup and this bread are not a “trans-substantiation” of Christ, but rather, they are symbols of the Body and blood of Christ.

What about us in the church life in the Lord’s recovery? What is our practice at the Lord’s table? Do we experience Chris as the reality of all the offerings and do we bring Him to the Lord’s table to offer Him to God?

We may sing song after song, recite some stanzas, say some prayers….but what about our daily enjoyment and experience of Christ as the peace offering, which culminates in offering Christ to God at the Lord’s table?

Our experience and enjoyment of Christ as the peace offering needs to be uplifted and elevated, so that we may render the proper worship to God, the worship that He desires.

The Sprinkling of the Lord’s Blood give us the Assurance that our Sins have been Washed Away

Lev. 3:1-3 And if his offering is a sacrifice of peace offerings,...he shall present it without blemish before Jehovah. And he shall lay his hand on the head of his offering and slaughter it at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting, and Aaron’s sons the priests shall sprinkle the blood on and around the altar....He shall present an offering by fire to Jehovah, the fat that covers the inward parts and all the fat that is on the inward parts.The peace offering was to be an animal from the herd or the cattle that was without blemish or spot; this signifies that Christ as our peace offering is without blemish – He is without sins and transgressions (see Lev. 3:1; Heb. 9:14; 1 Pet. 1:19; 2 Cor. 5:21; Heb. 4:15).

He never sinned, He never committed any transgressions, and He was without blemish; before God and man Christ was found to be without blemish or sin, and He is our peace offering.

After the lamb or cattle offered as the peace offering was slaughtered, the blood was sprinkled on and around the altar (see Lev. 3:2, 8, 13); this shows that the blood is for peace in our conscience, giving us the assurance that our sins have been washed away (Heb. 9:14).

The blood of the peace offering was not primarily brought into the tabernacle for God to see it, but it was sprinkled on and around the altar for the offerer to see; when he saw the blood, he knew that he had peace with God, and his conscience was appeased.

Hallelujah, when we see the sprinkled blood of Christ as our peace offering, we have peace in our conscience, and we are assured that our sins have been washed away!

Christ offered Himself for us, the One without blemish and sin, to make peace for us; now whenever we apply His blood, our conscience is at peace, and we are inwardly assured that our sins have been washed away.

Every time we come to the Lord’s Table, our conscience needs to be washed by the blood, sprinkled by the blood, and purified by the blood, and we will be filled with assurance and boldness to come to the Father through Jesus the Son and in the Spirit.

When we see what Christ has done for us and apply His precious blood, we are at peace in our conscience with God, and we are inwardly strengthened and emboldened to come forward to God through the shed blood of Jesus Christ.

The blood of the peace offering was sprinkled on the altar all around (Lev. 3:2, 8, 13). This indicates that the blood is for peace in the offerer’s conscience. This blood was not brought into the Holy of Holies to appease God; it was sprinkled around the altar where the offerer was standing. This shows us that the blood of the peace offering gives us peace and assurance. When we see the blood of the peace offering, we have the assurance that our sins have been washed away. The blood of the offering was shed for our sake, and it is now before our eyes. Therefore, we can say, “Thank You, Lord. My sins have been forgiven. I know this because I see Your blood. The blood is the evidence that God has forgiven my sins.” Witness Lee, Life-study of Leviticus, p. 159What a glorious and wonderful freedom to be released from sin and condemnation! We are released and freed from sin to just praise the Lord!

Only when we have such a blood-washed conscience can we serve and worship the true and living God!

May our Lord’s table not be filled with dead works but with a living touch of the living God, based on a purified conscience!

Hallelujah for the blood of Jesus!

The peace offering was slaughtered at the door of the Tent of Meeting (Lev. 3:2, 8, 13), signifying that Christ was slain on earth before God.

Christ is not only in heavens but He’s here for us to enjoy and apply on earth.

Just as the distant water cannot quench our thirst, so the Christ in the heaven can’t satisfy our hunger and need. But today we are enjoying Christ right here, on earth, in the very place where we are!

Thank You Lord Jesus for offering Yourself as a peace offering and shedding Your blood to cleanse us from all our sins. Thank You for forgiving our sins and washing them away. We see the sprinkled blood, Lord, and we know that God has washed us, cleansed us, and forgiven us of our sins! Hallelujah for Christ as our peace offering, the One who is here for us today on earth to enjoy and apply! We come forward now to God through Jesus Christ to enjoy God, based on the sprinkled blood of Jesus Christ. Thank You, Lord!

Christ as the peace offering is for the fellowship and enjoyment of five parties: God, the serving priest, all the priests (the priesthood), the offerer, and the congregation of cleansed people. The fat and the inward parts of the offering were God’s portion (Lev. 3:3-5); the four kinds of cakes and the right thigh as a heave offering were the portion of the serving priest (7:14, 32-34); the breast as a wave offering was for all the priests (7:30-31, 34); the flesh, the meat, of the offering was the portion of the offerer (7:15-18); and the remaining flesh of the cattle, under the condition of cleanness, was for all the congregation (7:19-21). In the New Testament there are no clergy and no laity (see footnote 1 on Revelation 2:6). Thus, all the believers in Christ should be the serving priests, the priestly body, the offerers, and the congregation. Christ as the peace offering is for the fellowship and enjoyment of both God and man; He is for God’s enjoyment, the serving priest’s enjoyment, the enjoyment of all the priests, the enjoyment of the offerer, and the enjoyment of the congregation of the cleansed people.

Everyone gets to eat: it is God’s “holy party”!

First of all, Christ as the peace offering is for God’s food; the fat and the inward parts of the offering were God’s portion (Lev. 3:3-5). This is the most important part: God gets the fat, the kidneys, the appendix, the liver, and the fat around it; these cannot be eaten by anyone except God, and they are an offering by fire for a satisfying fragrance to Jehovah.

The fat signifies the inward riches of Christ as the abundance of life for God’s satisfaction according to His glory, and the inward parts signify the tenderness, smallness, and preciousness of what Christ is in His inward being toward God (cf. Phil. 1:8; John 7:3-18) for God’s satisfaction, which can be apprehended and appreciated only by God (Matt. 11:27a). Wow!

Only God knows and can appreciate what Christ is in His richness and inward parts. Only the Father knows the Son, and the Father knows the tender, rich, and precious inward parts of Christ.

For example, Christ was limited by the Father’s will, spoke the Father’s word, did the Father’s will, and sought the Father’s glory; all these were not merely outward activities of Christ but they sprang from His inward parts. God the Father sees and knows Christ’s inward parts and deeply enjoys them.

The burning of the fat and the inward parts of the peace offering as an offering by fire to Jehovah (Lev. 3:3-5, 9-11, 14-16) signifies that God should be the first Enjoyer, enjoying the first, the best, part of the peace offering. Hallelujah!

The serving priest enjoyed a heave offering – the four kinds of cakes and the right thigh (Lev. 7:14, 32-34). Those who are strong and serving God, participating in the service of the meeting and supporting the worship and the priestly service, they get to eat four kinds of cakes (alluding to the meal offering) and the right thigh as a heave offering (referring to Christ’s strength in His ascension).

When we exercise our spirit and support the worship to God, we enjoy Christ as our food and we are strengthened by Christ in His ascension for His service.

The fat signifies the inward riches of Christ as the abundance of life for God’s satisfaction according to His glory, and the inward parts signify the tenderness, smallness, and preciousness of what Christ is in His inward being toward God (cf. What about our Lord’s Table meeting, how many “thighs” do we see heaved, and how many “breasts” do we see waved? We need to enjoy Christ and offer Him to God, and experience this One who is in resurrection and ascension – Christ as our peace offering.

The flesh, the meat, of the offering, was the portion of the one who offered the peace offering (Lev. 7:15-18). The one who offers the prayer and the praise gets to eat the meat. When we offer Christ as our peace offering and praise the Lord at His table, we get to eat Him and be supplied by Him.

The remaining flesh of the cattle, under the condition of cleanness, was for all the congregation (Lev. 7:19-21). If someone is unclean, he could not enjoy the peace offering, and the peace offering could not even touch him.

We need to eat Christ in cleanness, and our enjoyment of Christ as our peace offering should be kept from uncleanness. We need to discern the Lord’s table and prove ourselves, cleansing ourselves and eating the Lord’s in cleanness.

Hallelujah, Christ as the peace offering is for the fellowship and enjoyment of both God and man! Thank You Lord Jesus for being our peace offering for our enjoyment and fellowship with God in mutuality. We exercise our spirit and cleanse ourselves from any uncleanness. We offer You praise and worship for all that You are and have done for us. Lord, may our experience of Christ as the peace offering be increased and uplifted, so that we may present this Christ in resurrection and ascension to God and to the saints for our mutual enjoyment at the Lord’s table meeting!

Hi brothers and sisters im meeting in the Church in sydney in the church life. To keep the oneness of the spirit,

This is an incorrect statement. I and many brothers from the church life used to meet in church on Lord’s day. Many Christians are living. On the Lord’s day they also break the bread and read portions from the Word so that statement is not correct, they are practicing the church life in some way as Minnorau Chen said many Christians do.
