As believers in Christ we are today in the process of transformation by enjoying the bountiful supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ (Phil. 1:19-21).
Our transformation is not determined by the environment, the sufferings, or the outward things; rather, as we enjoy the bountiful supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, there’s a metabolic process taking place in our being, and we are being transformed into Christ’s image even as from the Lord Spirit. The result of the inward metabolism is an outward expression – Christ lived out in us!
Paul learned the secret to be content in all things and the secret of living Christ – conversing with Him, talking to Him about everything, making his requests being made known to God (Phil. 4:6).
Christ as the Spirit is so real and so close to us – He is right inside of us, in our spirit, even face to face with us in spirit. We can tell Him everything. As we open to Him and converse with Him, we give Him our burdens, problems, anxieties, situations, and issues, and He infuses more of Himself into us.
As we converse with the Lord, as we open to Him about all the situations in our daily life, inwardly we are being transformed, and outwardly we express Christ by living Him out.
This secret of conversing with the Lord is both simple to practice and not easy to maintain practicing, but we need to build up such a habit of talking to the Lord in everything about all things!
Enjoying the Bountiful Supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ to be Transformed
In 2 Cor. 3:16-18 Paul tells us that the Lord now is the Spirit, and we are being transformed from glory to glory even as from the Lord Spirit. It is the Spirit working and operating in us that causes us to be transformed.
When the bountiful supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ spreads into us from our spirit into our soul, it begins the inner process of spiritual metabolism, and it issues in an outward manifestation.
As we daily turn our heart to the Lord, open to Him, and allow Him as the Spirit to work in us, an inward process of spiritual metabolism takes place, and our old element is slowly discharged while God’s element is added by the Spirit into our soul, reconstituting us with God Himself. What people will see that is manifested through us is not ourselves but Christ.
The more we spend time with the Lord in His word, pray, pray-read the Bible, fellowship with Him, and muse on the words in the Bible, the more the Spirit can inwardly nourish us with God, and the more the old element is discharged for God’s element to replace it.
The way to keep ourselves living, vital, active, and energized is by eating proper food and having a proper digestion.
If we touch the Lord day by day and allow His element to come into us and operate in us, metabolism will spontaneously take place in us to transform us inwardly and conform us to His image outwardly.
We just need to enjoy the bountiful supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, and we will be transformed into His image!
Being Transformed by Talking to the Lord and Conversing with Him in Everything
In nothing we should be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, we should let our requests be made known to God (see Phil. 4:6).
This is the secret of living Christ: talking to Him and conversing with Him in everything and about all things, opening to Him and speaking with Him all the time. Even as I am writing this article, inwardly I am inwardly talking to the Lord,
Lord, You have to speak something through me. I love You. I open to You. I don’t want to express my own opinion or spiritual knowledge in this article – I want You to shine forth and be expressed. Lord, keep me open to You, conversing with You all the time!
The truth is, we all have problems – sometimes big problems while other times small but bothering problems. We need to come and tell the Lord all our problems – He is right within us, even face to face with us, one with us in spirit (1 Cor. 6:17; see Exo. 33:11).
As we open to the Lord and talk to Him, the Triune God comes to us to be our Paraclete, our Comforter, our Supporter. We shouldn’t pray or talk to God only when we need something, and our conversation with the Lord should not be merely “begging Him for things”.
We need to talk to the Lord about everything. If we are anxious about things, we need to tell Him and let Him know. Yes, HE KNOWS EVERYTHING, but when we open to Him to tell Him about us, our situation, our anxieties, our problems, our situations, etc, we get closer to Him, and He dispenses Himself into us, He mingles Himself with us, and adds more of God into us.
This is the secret of living Christ – talking to Him and conferring with Him about everything. Don’t live your life as if you’re a Christian and yet “there’s no God”, that is, as if God is not there with you all the time.
Open to Him as the Spirit in your spirit, tell Him your worries and problems, and even tell Him your joys. In this way, you make a motion toward Him, and He will dispense Himself into you, mingling Himself with your inward being, until you will look just like Him.
Inwardly, you open to Him and talk to Him, and outwardly, you will live Christ! The more we open to the Lord and converse with Him about everything, the more the inward spiritual metabolism will take place, and the result is that we will live Christ.
This is what it means to pray unceasingly (1 Thes. 5:17) and praying at every time in spirit (Eph. 6:18) to be transformed and live Christ.
Lord Jesus, we love You. Keep us conversing with You as we do this and that. Lord, be with us on our way to school or work. We take You as our real transportation, and You are our destination too. Lord Jesus, as we work in the office, we want to inwardly enjoy You and labor on Christ as the all-inclusive good land. We give You all our anxieties concerning our daily bread, our family, our job, our future, and anything that causes us to worry. Lord, we just give all our problems to You – You bear them for us. Infuse us with Yourself. Mingle Yourself more with us. Transform us into Your image. Keep us enjoying the bountiful supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ.

# Take time to behold Him, / The world rushes on; / Spend much time in secret / With Jesus alone. / By looking to Jesus / Like Him thou shalt be; / Thy friends, in thy conduct, / His likeness shall see.

# Lord Jesus, I long in Thy presence to live, / From morning to evening my one world Thou art; / O let not my heart be contented or rest / When loving or seeking what with Thee doth part. / Each moment, each day, throughout suff’ring and pain, / When nought in the world can give comfort or cheer, / When sighing and weeping encompasses me, / Lord, still all my sighing and wipe every tear.
