Being Saved in Life to Reign in Life by being under the Ruling of the Divine Life

Rom. 5:17 ...Much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ. In His complete salvation, God wants for us to reign in life by the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness (Rom. 5:17, 21); He doesn’t merely want to save us and bring us into heaven, but for us to reign in life by being under the rule of the divine life daily.

As believers in Christ, we should desire to reign and to enjoy the blessing of reigning for God. We should not only hope that we would reign in the future, when the Lord returns with His kingdom, but daily practically reign in life over anything negative through the One, Jesus Christ.

A very practical way for us to reign in life, that is, be brought to the throne in our daily experience, is by experiencing the humanity of Jesus with its virtues.

The Lord Jesus had a perfect humanity, and He brought His humanity through death into resurrection; now the Lord’s humanity with His complete obedience, submission to God’s authority, compassion, care, and all its virtues are in the Spirit, whom Jesus became in His resurrection.

God wants man to defeat Satan, His enemy, by ruling one with Christ on the throne; for us to be brought to the throne, we need to have every aspect of our daily walk being conformed to the Lord’s humanity in our spirit (Rom. 8:4).

For us to have the proper human virtues – not just the human virtues we have by our birth from our parents but the humanity of Jesus being expressed in our virtues – we need the humanity of Jesus.

As we live under the Lord’s ruling within us and experience Christ’s humanity, we will never be out of balance; rather, everything will be properly proportioned.

How can we have the Lord’s humanity, and how can we express the humanity of Jesus with all its virtues? It is only by eating Jesus as the meal offering so that we may become His reproduction and live the life of a God-man.

We need to eat Jesus every day in His word, turning our heart to Him and pray-reading His word, so that His humanity would be infused into us, and we would be constituted with the Lord’s humanity.

When we eat the Lord’s humanity by praying over the word of God, we will touch God’s authority, we will be under His authority, and we will represent God toward the saints (by shepherding them and caring for them) and toward the enemy (by being one with the Lord to subdue him).

Being Saved in Life to Reign in Life by being under the Ruling of the Divine Life

Rom. 5:21 In order that just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness unto eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.Since sin reign through the one – Adam, through whom sin came in – much more now those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ (Rom. 5:17).

Through believing into Christ we have been justified before God so that we may reign in life. God’s complete salvation is for us, the believers in Christ, to reign in life by the abundance of grace (which is God Himself as our all-sufficient supply for our organic salvation) and of the gift of righteousness (which is God’s judicial redemption applied to us in a practical way).

God gives us His righteousness freely as a gift when we believe into the Lord; the goal of His justification is for us to reign in life by being saved in His life to the uttermost.

We need to be daily saved in the divine life so that we may reign in the divine life; we need to be saved from any kind of insubordination and rebellion, so that we may reign as kings. Daily we need to receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness so that we may reign in life through Jesus Christ.

Hallelujah, we have been regenerated with a divine and spiritual life; the divine life we have received by regeneration is spiritual, heavenly, kingly, and royal, and this life enables us to reign as kings (John 3:3-6).

In a practical way, to reign in life is to be under the ruling of the divine life. We need to learn to live under the ruling of the divine life in our daily living.

A sign of living under the ruling of the divine life is that our heart is in the Lord’s hand (Prov. 21:1), and He directs our heart to be in line with His heart, and there is a river of life flowing in you and out of you.

God’s complete salvation is for us to reign in life by the abundance of grace—God Himself as our all-sufficient supply for our organic salvation—and of the gift of righteousness—God’s judicial redemption applied to us in a practical way. The Conclusion of the New Testament, p. 3042, by Witness LeeWhen we are saved to the uttermost, we will reign in life and we will recognize and submit to the order of authority in the Body; there’s no organization in the church life, but there’s an order that God allowed in the Body of Christ.

When we are saved to the uttermost, we will reign in life and our whole being will be brought under the rulership of the Spirit; when we see others who do not like us or have dealt with us in a negative way, we do not accuse them but recognize God’s authority and sovereignty, and admit that everything happens under God’s hand for good – even though others may intend it would be for evil.

The Lord Jesus is a pattern of reigning in life by being under the ruling of the divine life of the Father (see Matt. 8:9; John 18:11; Phil. 2:8); He didn’t speak of Himself, didn’t do His own will, and didn’t seek His own glory, but was under the inner ruling of the Father’s life, and thus sought the Father’s glory, did the Father’s will, and spoke the words the Father gave Him to speak.

When we are under the ruling of the divine life, we have the sense that we are enthroned as kings to reign over all things; when we allow grace to reign in us, we will reign as kings over all things.

Lord Jesus, thank You for regenerating us with a royal and kingly life, a life that enthrones us and causes us to reign over all things through Christ. Oh Lord, save us much more in Your life until we will reign in life by being under the ruling of the divine life. We want to learn to submit to God’s throne and be under the ruling of the divine life within us. May our heart be in Your hand so that You may turn it whenever You want, and You may align it with Your heart. May we have our whole inner being under the rulership of the Spirit, accepting God’s arrangement and letting grace reign in us!

Continually Receiving the Abundance of Grace and of the Gift of Righteousness to Reign in Life

Wherever you are, at work, at school, or in your car, stay open to the Lord to be filled with Him as grace. This is what it means to receive the abundance of grace. As you receive grace in this way, you will be filled with grace and eventually grace will overflow from within you. Then you will reign in life by grace over sin, death, and Satan. Life-study of Romans, pp. 509-510, by Witness LeeAccording to Rom. 5:17 and 21, if we would reign in life, we need to continually receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness, so that grace may reign in us and we may reign in life.

To reign means to conquer, subdue, and rule over Satan, the world, sin, the flesh, ourselves, and all our environmental circumstances.

We have received the gift of righteousness objectively, and we daily need to practice taking God’s righteousness as our righteousness; also, we need to continually receive the abundance of grace so that we can reign in life subjectively.

We need to be filled with the enjoyment of Christ abundantly, so that His enjoyment would reign and rule in our being; when the abounding grace rules in us, we reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.

For us to receive the abundance of grace we need to come to the Lord again and again and open our inner being to be filled with God as grace. We need to open the depths of our being to the Lord and ask Him to remove any insulation between us and Him; we need to deal with any frustration between us and the Lord, so that the Lord would have a way to rule in us as grace.

We need to be willing that any hindrance would be removed, and that our being would be directly and fully open to the Lord. Again and again, all throughout the day, wherever we are and whatever we do, we need to stay open to the Lord to be filled with Him as grace.

As we receive the abundance of grace in this way, we will be filled with grace, and eventually grace will overflow from within us. Then, we will reign in life by grace over sin, death, and Satan.

We need to come to the throne of grace to receive mercy and find grace for timely help (Heb. 4:16). The more we receive the abundance of grace, the more we will reign in life (John 1:16).

May we be those who practice daily coming to the Lord as we travel to work, as we are at school, as we do this and that at home, or even as we lie down to rest; may we just open our inner being to the Lord to be filled with Him as grace.

The Lord is waiting for us to open to Him and come to Him, so that He may give us grace abundantly; He wants to fill our inner being with the full enjoyment of Himself!

Lord Jesus, we are willing to remove all insulation and frustration in our being. We want to keep ourselves directly open to You so that You may fill us completely with Yourself as grace. Lord, fill us with the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness so that we may reign in life through Jesus Christ. Keep us enjoying You and being filled with Your enjoyment until grace reigns in us and we reign in life over sin, death, and Satan! Amen, Lord, fill us with Yourself as grace!

Amen! The life we have received does not merely save us from a few things; rather, it enthrones us as kings to reign over all things. This is much higher than being saved in life. [via http://online.recoveryversion.bible/FootNotes.asp?FNtsID=3799%5D
