The wheels by the four living creatures were high and awesome; this means that, even though we may be small and not at all outstanding people, with us the move of God’s economy should be high and awesome.
Furthermore, there should be a lot of sight in the church and among us, as we move one with the Lord, just as the high and awesome wheels were full of eyes.
These high and awesome wheels being upon the earth by the four living creatures shows that God needs a move on the earth, and when He gains a group of people who express Christ and are coordinated together in Him, He can move in them, with them, and through them.
The Lord’s move has the same appearance, and it is the appearance of the Lord; it is not merely man moving and expressing man, but it is God moving in man and with man, and the expression is Christ Himself.
God has only one move, and the appearance of His move is the same everywhere over the earth; God’s move should have the same appearance in all the local churches on earth. If we find ourselves in a move that doesn’t look like the Lord’s move in other localities on earth, we need to come back to the Bible and to the fellowship in the Body to be adjusted and balanced.
How does God move? He moves in the principle of “a wheel within a wheel” (Ezek. 1:16); that is, God moves in our move, and when we move, the Lord moves in our move.
For example, when Elijah prayed for the heaven to no longer pour rain on earth, he didn’t pray his own prayer but he prayed in a prayer, that is, a prayer was given to him, and he prayed in that prayer.
We don’t know how to pray to cooperate with the Lord for His move, but we can open to the Lord, deny our self, and allow the Spirit who intercedes for us to utter through us His prayers. The Spirit intercedes for us with groanings which cannot be uttered, and when we open our mouth to pray, seeking to be one with the Lord, we should let the Spirit pray in us and through us.
The Lord Himself in us is the motor, the hub, the dynamo, the generator, causing the wheel to move, and we let Him move in us, pray in us, and do everything in us for His move on earth.
In this way He has a high and awesome wheel moving on earth with the coordinated group of living creatures in the church life, and He can carry out His administration, fulfill His economy, and bring in His kingdom on earth.
We are Small but the Move of God’s Economy with us should be High and Awesome
The wheels are by the four living creatures, and they go in four directions without turning as they went (Ezek. 1:17); this shows us that there’s a coordination, and there’s no turning.
The description of the wheels and their moving sounds very much like the description of the four living creatures; these move as one entity, and with us there should be no difference between our life (our being as living creatures) and our work (our move, the wheels).
In ourselves we may be small, but the wheel beside us – that is, the move of God’s economy with us – should be high and awesome (Ezek. 1:18). It’s not us who should be high and awesome but the Lord’s move with us.
Paul (which means, small) was a small and little man, but wherever he went, the wheel of the Lord’s move was high and awesome. He admitted that to him, one who is less than the least of all the saints (for he persecuted the church of God), a very high and awesome wheel was beside him wherever he went.
We are not Paul – he himself said he’s less than us, so if he had a high and awesome move of the Lord with him, so we can we! When we are on campus, at work, or at home, we should just get together with some saints, pray together in one accord, and the high and awesome wheel of God’s economy will be there.
We all have to admit that, in ourselves we are small, even nothing and a nobody, but we are connected to something high and awesome: we have the Lord’s move with us. When people touch us, they shouldn’t just touch us but the Lord’s move.
The Lord’s move in us and among us should be high and awesome, and the Lord’s move in the church should be high and awesome. We may be small in number, but we want to be one with the Lord and with one another to have the Lord’s move, the high and awesome wheel of the move of God on earth among man!
Lord Jesus, we admit that in ourselves we are small, weak, and even nothing and nobody, but we have the high and awesome wheel of God’s move with us! Amen! We want to stay in the organic union with You, Lord, in spirit, and we want to remain in the coordination of the living creatures, so that we may have the high and awesome wheel of God’s move on earth wherever we go and whatever we do. Lord, may Your move in us and among us in the church life be high and awesome!
When we’re One with the Lord in His Move we have His divine Insight, Foresight, and Revelation
The high and awesome rims of the wheels by the living creatures were full of eyes (Ezek. 1:18); this is a very particular aspect, and it refers to the fact that, if we are one with the Lord in His move on earth today, we will have His divine insight, foresight, and revelation (Eph. 1:17).
If we are not one with the Lord in His move, we are blind and we don’t really see what’s going on, what will happen, and what the Bible says; but if we pay the price to be one spirit with the Lord and in coordination with the saints for His move, we will have all kinds of sight: insight, foresight, and much revelation.
If in the church life we have an awesome wheel, that is, the Lord’s high and awesome move, we will have much revelation, much insight, and much foresight.
The reason the Apostle Paul was so clear concerning the world situation, the real meaning and interpretation of the Old Testament, the end of the world, the Word of God, the church, the physical things, and the spiritual things, is because he was a person full of eyes, for he was one with the Lord in His move.
When we are one with the Lord and in coordination with the saints, we are enlightened concerning our situation, others’ situation, the Lord’s move, His economy, the word of God, the future, and everything, for we are full of eyes.
The more we participate in the Lord’s move, the more we see; the more we move one with the Lord and are one in prayer for His move, the more clearly we will see. When we stop moving, we stop seeing.
As believers in Christ, we must be moving people. If we haven’t move for a while, maybe we need to bring this before the Lord so that we may see more as we start to move. The church has to move in order to see, and when we move one with the Lord, we have His divine insight, foresight, and revelation.
Lord Jesus, we want to be one with You in Your move so that we may have Your divine insight, foresight, and revelation. Lord, save us from being rooted on earth; we want to be one with the moving God, allowing God to move in us and through us on earth. We want to participate in the move of the Lord so that we may be enlightened and be clear concerning all things. Lord, may we be people moving one with You, and may all the local churches be one with the Lord in His move, so that much diving insight, foresight, and revelation would be present among us!
The Move of God’s Work Depends upon our Moving; if we Move in Faith, the Lord will Follow our Move
Regarding the wheels by the living creatures one thing is very interesting: they follow the living creatures, and the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels, yet the living creatures followed the Spirit (Ezek. 1:19-20).
Wherever the living creatures went, the wheels went; when the creatures moved, the wheels moved, and the creatures followed the Spirit – wherever the Spirit was to go, they went.
Our concept is that we need to wait until the Lord moves, and then we can move; however, according to the principle in Ezekiel 1, the move of God’s work depends on our move – if we move, He moves, and if we stop, He stops.
The move of God’s work, the preaching of the gospel, the shepherding of the saints, and the spreading of the church life to other cities on earth depend on our moving. We need to have the confidence and assurance and faith to go on boldly, and then the Lord will follow with His move.
Of course, we are not presumptuous, trying to do things in a bold and reckless way so that God would follow with His move; rather, as we start to pray, the Lord prays in our prayer, we pray one with the Lord, and we move in faith – and the Lord follows our move.
Paul said, I believe, therefore I speak (2 Cor. 4:13); this means that, literally, “I believed when I spoke; when I opened my mouth to speak, I believe” (see Psa. 116:10). We may not know what to speak, but as soon as we open our mouth, He speaks in our speaking.
The Lord’s move in our move is in the principle of incarnation: He moves when we move, and our move is His move. Paul spoke in 1 Cor. 7 in the principle of incarnation; some exhortations were from the Lord, while others were from him, for he also was one spirit with the Lord (1 Cor. 7:10-12).
The Lord Jesus also said that we shouldn’t worry what to speak when we are put on the spot among men, for it will be given to us in that hour what to speak, for it’s not us who are speaking but the Spirit of our Father will speak in us (Matt. 10:19-20).
We are one with the Lord, and He is one with us (1 Cor. 6:17, 19); we speak one spirit with the Lord, we move one spirit with Him, and as we speak and move, He moves and speaks in our speaking (see John 14:16-17; Acts 16:6-10; cf. Heb. 11:8, 27).
The Lord follows us, we follow the Spirit, and the Spirit is in the Lord’s move (Ezek. 1:20-21); this is how the Lord moves on earth today, and this is the Lord’s recovery.
The Lord’s recovery is not any kind of movement; the Lord’s recovery is the Lord’s move, and if we move one with the Lord and with the saints, the Lord will follow our move.
Lord Jesus, thank You for making us one spirit with You. You are in us, we are in You, and we follow the Spirit to be in Your move in a practical way. Lord, cause us to see that the move of God’s work depends upon our moving, and make us one spirit with You to move in faith so that You may follow our move. Hallelujah, we are one with the Lord, and the Lord is one with us. The Lord follows us, we follow the Spirit, and the Spirit is in the high and awesome wheel of the Lord’s move. Lord, make this our reality and experience in the church life today!

Ezekiel 1:18a says, “As for their rims, they were high and they were awesome.” Here I would point out that we should never try to make ourselves great; instead, we should be little ones. However, the wheel beside us should be so high that it is awesome. In our locality we should not have a small wheel only a few inches in diameter. On the contrary, in our city there should be a high wheel, a wheel that is awesomely high and that will surprise others. The wheel in every church should be so high that it is awesome.
