being a Christian student on the campus: Love the Lord and gain Him – there is no other way!

The question is, How does it work for you to be a student on the campus and a lover of Christ at the same time?

being a Christian student on the campus: Love the Lord and gain Him - there is no other way!In short, it can work no other way. Over the course of my first year at university, I realised that time spent away from the Lord (even if it was with the intention to study and do well in my examinations, which is a good thing in itself), was not time redeemed but time thrown away (Eph. 6:15).

Yes, I may get the grades that I worked so hard for but at the end of the day, they are but letters and numbers on a piece of paper. This cannot compare to the Christ that I would have gained if I had pursued the Lord simultaneously. As important as academic achievements are, they’re temporary. The Christ gained by us, however, is eternal.

Given the insurmountable workload, the constant stress, and the many “attractions” that university life has to offer, it is easy to lose sight of the fact that we have been called out of the world and into Him – we have been called to be a lover of Christ. To this, I have many a times fallen victim. Yet, the Lord is gracious. If we only turn back to Him (by reading His word, calling on His name, and touching Him in our spirit), He is faithful to be our daily moment-by-moment supply.

How does it work? I don’t know. But through my own experience, I can testify that it can work no other way.
