We were Baptised into Christ and have put on Christ in the Organic Union with Him

For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. Gal. 3:27

According to the New Testament, our baptism is very significant, for we were baptised into Christ and have put on Christ, we were baptised into the Triune God to be immersed into Him, we were baptised into the death of Christ, and we were baptised into the Body of Christ. Hallelujah!

We may not have realised what happened to us or in the spiritual realm at the time of our baptism, but as we read the New Testament portions concerning baptism, we are simply amazed and in awe regarding this.

We may think that to baptise someone is to simply put them in the water for them to join the church, or even deeper than this, that we baptise someone into Christ to be a new creation, but baptism is much more than this.

According to Romans chapter 6, in the first five verses, we see that baptism is part of our growing in Christ and Christ growing in us. We grow together with Christ in the likeness of His death through baptism, and we grow together with Christ in the likeness of His resurrection after baptism as we walk in newness of life.

Even more, this growth indicates and points to the organic union we have with the Lord.

Becoming a believer in Christ, a genuine Christian, is not adhering to a certain set of doctrines and teachings about Jesus, nor is it merely being saved from eternal perdition by believing into Christ as the Son of God.

Being a believer in Christ means that we repent and believe into the Lord Jesus and, through our faith and baptism, we are brought into an organic union with the Lord.

Just as a branch from a poor tree is cut off and grafted into a tree that is good and rich, so we were cut off from Adam through faith and baptism, and we were grafted into Christ.

Some of the branches in Christ, the unbelieving Jews, have been cut off, because of their unbelief and rejection of Christ. But thank the Lord that we, who are not Jews by birth nor are we heirs of the commonwealth of Israel, we can be grafted into Christ through faith in Him! Hallelujah!

As we are grafted into Him, we grow in Him and with Him, just as a branch grows in and with the tree that it has been grafted into. Daily, we grow in Christ and Christ grows in us.

In baptism, we grow together with Christ in the likeness of His death, and daily we grow with Christ in the likeness of His resurrection as we exercise our spirit and live in the mingled spirit.

As He grows in us, our old element is being discharged and removed, our God-created faculties are uplifted and enriched, and we are saturated inwardly with Christ so that He may grow in us and saturate us with all that He is.

In this way, we experience, enjoy, and also express Christ!

We were Baptised into the Triune God, into Christ, into the Death of Christ, and into the Body of Christ

Go therefore and disciple all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Matt. 28:19

Thank the Lord for the spiritual significance of our baptism! Praise the Lord that He didn’t just tell us to get baptised and that’s it; rather, God reveals in His word what baptism is, what we are baptised into, and what happens at the time of our baptism.

When we preach the gospel and speak the word of God to unbelievers, believing into the Lord and being one with Him for Him to speak to others, we need to have the view that we not only want to help people to get saved but even more, get them baptised into Christ! Amen!

We speak the gospel and, as soon as someone believes into the Lord, we need to baptise them and help them enter into the reality of their baptism.

For also in one Spirit we were all baptized into one Body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and were all given to drink one Spirit. 1 Cor. 12:13 Or are you ignorant that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? Rom. 6:3According to Gal. 3:27, we were baptised into Christ; in verse 26 we are told that we are all sons of God through faith in Christ, and then Paul says, For as many of you as are baptised into Christ… We are sons of God through faith in Christ, and we know this because we were baptised into Christ.

So first of all, we are baptised into Christ and put on Christ. We are put in Christ, immersed in Christ, and joined to Christ to be in an organic union with Him. Praise the Lord!

Verse 28 continues to say that there cannot be Jew nor Greek, there cannot be slave nor free man, and there cannot be male and female, for we all are one in Christ Jesus. Hallelujah, we are all one in Christ!

Through faith and baptism into Christ, we were put in Christ, we were made one in Christ, and now, in His resurrection, we are all one new man.

Ephesians 2:15 says that Christ tore down the middle wall of partition and removed all ordinances and differences on the cross so that He may create the one new man in Himself.

We are now the one new man, and this new man is absolutely in Christ; in this new man, there’s no room for our natural being, our natural disposition, or our natural character; in this man, there’s room only for Christ (Col. 3:10-11). Hallelujah!

In Romans 6:3, we see that we are baptised into Christ Jesus and also into His death; on the one hand, we were baptised into Christ, and on the other hand, we were baptised into His death.

On the positive side, we were baptised into the person of Christ; on the negative side, we were baptised into His death.

We grow together with Christ in the likeness of His death (vv. 4-5) so that we may also grow together with Him in the likeness of His resurrection. Praise the Lord!

Matthew 28:19 further says that those who believe into Christ are baptised into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, that is, into the name of the Triune God.

Hallelujah, we were baptised into the Triune God to be brought into an organic union with Him! Through baptism, we were put into the Triune God, and we were made one with Him.

This doesn’t mean that there’s something mystical that happened in us when we were baptised and now we’re completely different persons just by being baptised in water.

And Peter said to them, Repent and each one of you be baptized upon the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit...Those then who received his word were baptized, and there were added on that day about three thousand souls. Acts 2:38, 41 Rather, as we exercise our spirit and are baptised, calling on the name of the Lord, we enter into the reality of the Triune God and are joined to Him in spirit. Then, day by day, we walk in this reality, walking in newness of life so that we may enjoy all that God is to us. Hallelujah!

1 Corinthians 12:13 says that in one Spirit we all were baptised into one Body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free. We were baptised not only in what God is, in the reality of Christ, the death of Christ, and the Triune God, but also in the Body of Christ. Hallelujah!

Through His death on the cross, Christ abolished all the law of the commandments in ordinances and created the two – the Jews and the Gentiles – into one new man, so making peace! We have been reconciled to God in one Body and in Christ, we have been created into one new man. Hallelujah!

Through baptism, we were baptised into the Body of Christ, for we were baptised in the Spirit, and the Spirit is in and for the Body.

Thank the Lord, we are immersed in the Body of Christ, we are joined to the Body of Christ, and now, as those who are baptised, we are members of the Body of Christ!

Wow, through baptism we are brought into a deeper fellowship with the Body of Christ, being baptised into the Body of Christ!

How we need to have our view and appreciation of baptism be uplifted and brought in line with the divine revelation in God’s word!

May we pray over these portions of God’s word so that He may have a way to enlighten us and grant us a proper appreciation of our baptism, and may we live in the reality of our baptism today.

Lord Jesus, uplift our appreciation of our baptism so that we may see it the way You see it. Praise the Lord, through baptism we are baptised into Christ and have put on Christ! Amen, Lord, thank You for baptising us into Yourself so that we may be brought into an organic union with You. Hallelujah, through baptism we were baptised into the death of Christ so that we may grow together with Christ in the likeness of His death! Amen, Lord, keep us here, one with You in Your death in our spirit so that we may live and walk in newness of life, growing with You in the reality of Your resurrection. Praise the Lord, we have been baptised into the name of the Triune God! Wow, we were immersed into the Triune God and we were put in the Father, in the Son, and in the Spirit through baptism! Hallelujah, in one Spirit we were all baptised into one Body, and we were all given to drink the one Spirit! Amen, Lord, thank You for bringing us into the Body of Christ, even into a deeper union and communion with the members of the Body! Praise the Lord for our baptism!

We believers in Christ have been Baptised into Christ and have put on Christ

Can anyone forbid the water so that these would not be baptized, who have received the Holy Spirit even as we? And he charged them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to remain for some days. Acts 10:47-48Galatians 3:27 says, For as many as you as were baptised into Christ have put on Christ. Hallelujah, we believers in Christ have been baptised into Christ and have put on Christ!

Through baptism, we as repentant people are brought out of our old state into a new one by terminating our old life and germinating us with the new life of Christ and in Christ (Rom. 8:2, 10).

To be baptised is much more than to be immersed in the waters of baptism; it is to be brought out of a certain place and person and into another place and person.

We can say that baptism has two aspects – the visible aspect, which is by water, and the invisible aspect, which is by the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38, 41; 10:44-48).

If we only know the visible aspect, it is an empty practice if we just get immersed in the water, for without the invisible aspect, the visible is in vain.

However, without the visible aspect, if we only know and agree with the invisible aspect, it is abstract and impractical if we don’t get baptised in the water.

We need to both exercise our spirit to be baptised into Christ spiritually and to be baptised into the water physically.

To be baptised into the Triune God is to be baptised into Christ.

Thank the Lord that we are sons of God by being in Christ, and we are in Christ because we have been baptised into Christ (Rom. 8:10, 14; Gal. 3:26; 4:7).

We believe into Christ and we are joined to Him organically, and we are baptised into Christ and have put on Christ.

The way for us to be in Christ is to be baptised into Christ; when we’re baptised into Christ, we are joined to Him in His death, we are grafted into Him, and we enter into an organic union with Him.

Baptism is not merely an agreement or consent to do something that the Bible tells us to do after our repentance; it is a union in life between us and God in which we are grafted into Christ.

We die with Christ so that we may also be resurrected with Him. Through the death of Christ, we are united with Christ and joined to Him in life.

As we are joined to Him, we have an organic union with Him, and it is in this organic union that we grow in Him and with Him through renewing and transformation.

Because we have been baptised into Christ, we now enjoy an organic union with the Lord, which is able to transform our whole being (Rom. 12:2).

For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There cannot be Jew nor Greek, there cannot be slave nor free man, there cannot be male and female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. Gal. 3:26-28We are now on the pathway of transformation, being joined to the Lord as one spirit. We have been put in Christ, Christ is in us, and we and Christ live a Christian life together. He transforms us from within, and we express Him outwardly.

It is quite significant that, at the end of chapter 3 of Galatians, Paul concludes with a word about being baptised into Christ and putting on Christ. This indicates that what is covered in this chapter can be experienced only if we have been baptised into Christ and have put on Christ.

If we’re not in Christ, if we are not organically joined to Christ, we cannot participate in all the riches of God’s complete salvation.

But thank the Lord that we who have been baptised into Christ have also put on Christ. Christ is our covering, and we are in Him.

On the one hand, in baptism we are immersed into Christ; on the other hand, in baptism we put on Christ.

What we wear defines what we are; if we wear our pyjamas, this shows we’re about to go to bed, but if we wear a suit and tie, it shows we have an important meeting. If we wear the clothes of an emperor, this shows we’re an emperor, but if we wear rags and no shoes, this shows we are a beggar.

We have been baptised into Christ and we have put on Christ; now we wear Christ as our clothing, our covering, to express Him.

Through baptism, we not only experience and enjoy Christ but we also express Christ, for He covers us and we express Him as our glorious robe!

Praise the Lord, through baptism we have been brought out of our old state into a new one by having our old life terminated and being germinated with the new life of Christ and in Christ! Hallelujah for our baptism into Christ! May we see this, Lord, and may we realise that, as we were baptised in the physical water, we were also baptised into Christ to be joined to Him and be brought into an organic union with the Lord! Amen, Lord, we love being here, in the organic union with You. Keep us in the organic union with the Lord in spirit so that we may be transformed in our whole being. Praise the Lord, we who were baptised into Christ have also put on Christ! Amen, Lord, You are our clothing, our covering, and we want to wear You as we do this and that in our Christian life. Keep us in You by keeping us in our mingled spirit. Keep us in the organic union with You so that we may put on Christ, wear Christ, shine forth Christ, and have Christ as our glorious robe in our daily life!

In Galatians 3:26 Paul tells us that we “are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.” Verse 27 opens with the word for, which connects these verses and indicates that verse 27 gives an explanation of how we are sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. We are sons of God because we are in Christ, and we are in Christ because we have been baptized into Christ. Verse 27 says, “For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.” To be baptized into Christ is the way to be in Christ. Based upon the fact that we have been baptized into Christ, we can say that we have put on Christ. In verse 28 Paul continues, “There cannot be Jew nor Greek, there cannot be slave nor free man, there cannot be male and female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” Here we see that we are one in Christ by His resurrection life and His divine nature to be the one new man, as mentioned in Ephesians 2:15. This new man is absolutely in Christ. There is no room for our natural being, our natural disposition, or our natural character. In this one new man Christ is all and in all (Col. 3:10-11).

Dear brother, we were baptised INTO Christ and we have put on Christ! Hallelujah!

How significant and rich is our baptism in God’s eyes! We need to be filled with appreciation for our baptism, which is such a wonderful organic matter!

We were baptised into Christ, into the death of Christ, into the Triune God, into the Body of Christ, and in one Spirit! We are now a new man in resurrection, we are in Christ, and we have put on Christ.

Oh Lord, keep us in You today! Keep us in our mingled spirit. We want to live one spirit with You today in all things! We love You, Lord!

Amen brother. Our God is so wonderful.

At the time of my baptism, I didn’t fully appreciate how many deep & profound things were being accomplished in what seemed at the time quite a straightforward act.

Our Father makes all the essential spiritual accomplishments so simple for us because we are but babes in Christ.

Only now can we begin to see such matters as we’re sons of God because we’re in Christ, and we’re in Christ because we have been baptised into Christ.

Also, we were baptised into Christ to be the one new man. I didn’t know of the one new man at the time of my baptism.

We were baptised both into Christ’s person and into His death. And even more, we are baptised into one Body. It’s just like the moment of our human birth.

When we emerge from our mother’s womb, we know nothing and we understand nothing.

At that very moment of blissful ignorance, everything that we are to be has been accomplished.

We simply need to allow the master Builder & Architect to work it all out and cooperate with Him. Hallelujah!

Col. 3:9-11 Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his practices. And have put on the new man, which is being renewed unto full knowledge according to the image of Him who created him, Where there cannot be Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free man, but Christ is all and in all.

1 Cor. 1:13, 15
13 Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized into the name of Paul?
15 That no one may say that you were baptized into my name.

“…In Matthew 28:19 the Triune God is likened to the water of baptism. When we baptize people into water, this signifies that we put them into the Triune God.”
brother Lee

“Galatians 3:27…is a wonderful verse. It does not say, “baptized in Christ,” but, “baptized into Christ… If you were baptized into Christ, you surely have put on Christ.”
brother Lee

“…We have been baptized into Christ Jesus, and now we have Christ Jesus covering us. We have put on Christ… This is a reality accomplished by the faithful word of the Lord.” brother Lee

We have been baptized into:

1. Christ
2. Christ’s death
3. the name of the Triune God
4. the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
5. The Body

We have been reconciled to God in ONE BODY, and in Christ, we have been CREATED INTO ONE NEW MAN.

Therefore, there is NO ROOM for our natural being—our disposition, our character. NO ROOM for murmuring, gossiping, complaints, or hidden desires for leadership. NO ROOM for opinions, for cultures, philosophies, customs, or traditions. NO ROOM for division, preferences, or races.

Today the nation is so divided, and many have been swept into that spirit, even bringing it into the Body—His Body. But in Christ, we have no need of worldly views. We must “keep the faith and the love” (Ricky Acosta).

In this one new man, Christ is all and in all. He is the full knowledge of the One who created us. In Him, there is no longer Asian, Caucasian, Hispanic, or Native American. Go and fellowship with all—in one spirit, in one accord. Do not listen to those who seek to stir up division among the races.

In Colossians 3:10-11 Paul says, “HAVE PUT ON the new man, which is being renewed unto full knowledge according to the image of Him who created him, where there cannot be Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free man, but Christ is all and in all.”

TO SEE this mystery we need our ❤️s to be empty and in the proper position.

To believe is to believe into Christ (John 3:16), and to be baptized is to be baptized into Christ. By both faith and baptism we have entered into Christ, having thus put on Christ and become identified with Christ. Baptism practiced in a proper, genuine, and living way puts the believers into the name of the Triune God, the divine name (Matt. 28:19); into Christ, a living person (Gal. 3:27); into the death of Christ, an effective death (Rom. 6:3); and into the Body of Christ, a living organism (1 Cor. 12:13), that the believers may enter into an organic union not only with Christ but also with His Body. Furthermore, baptism brings the believers out of their old state into a new one, terminating their old life and germinating them with the new life of Christ that they may live in the Body of Christ, an organism, by the elements of the Triune God.
