The compound Spirit as the reality of the holy anointing oil in Exo. 30 is to anoint us and guide us in all things so that we may abide in the Lord; by painting us with the compound Spirit, the Triune God in resurrection mingles Himself with our humanity to bear the full responsibility for God’s building. Hallelujah!
Throughout the Bible we see that God desires to make Himself one with man; the oneness He wants to gain with man is not an outward unity or a mental agreement but an organic union.
How can God be organically one with man, that is, how can the almighty God who is perfect and righteous be one with the imperfect and sinful man?
In the Old Testament, there seemed to be no way; the only way that God’s people had in the Old Testament was the offerings, which needed to be brought to God again and again for their peace with God, appeasing for sin, and being absolute for God.
But in the New Testament, we see something marvellous: God became man, and this man, Jesus Christ, who was the first God-man, went through the processes of incarnation, human living, death, resurrection, and ascension.
1 Cor. 15:45 tells us that the last Adam – Christ in the flesh – became a life-giving Spirit.
The Spirit of God was there from Gen. 1:1-2, but here we see that Christ became the Spirit.
This Spirit is not a different Spirit from the beginning – there are no “two Spirits” but one – but it is compounded, or processed and consummated.
The result or issue of Christ’s going through the processes of incarnation, human living, crucifixion, and resurrection is that He became the Spirit, also called, the Spirit of Jesus, the Spirit of Christ, and the Spirit of Jesus Christ.
This Spirit as the consummation of the processes God went through is a compounded Spirit, for in this Spirit we have all that God is, the incarnation of Christ, the perfect human living of Jesus, the death of Christ, the resurrection of Christ, and the ascension of Christ.
All these processes with their effectiveness and power have been “compounded together” or mingled together in the Spirit.
The Lord is the Spirit (2 Cor. 3:17), and when we exercise our spirit to touch Him in spirit (John 4:24), we are anointed with all that He is.
At the time of our regeneration, when we repented and believed into the Lord, we received God in Christ as the Spirit in our spirit; our spirit became life, for the life-giving Spirit came into our spirit to enliven it, vivify it, and make it alive (Rom. 8:10).
All that God is and all that He has accomplished through the processes He went through is compounded in the Spirit, and this Spirit is with our spirit.
The Spirit with our spirit is the secret of God’s organic salvation, and this Spirit is the only One who can live the Christian life today.
And God is painting us with the compound Spirit as we heed the teaching of the anointing today!
The Triune God in Resurrection is Mingled with Humanity to Bear the Full Responsibility for the Building of God’s Dwelling Place
The type of the holy anointing oil in Exo. 30:23-25 is marvellous; it is full of significance and meaning, and it is so applicable to us in our Christian life today.
One particular thing related to the holy anointing oil was the measurements of the five ingredients: there are five ingredients split in two (one hin of olive oil and four spices).
The number four signifies the creature (there are four living creatures in Ezek. 1, there are four corners of the earth, etc) and the number one signifies God, for only God is one.
Five, therefore, signifies God added to man to give us the ability to bear responsibility.
The number five signifies responsibility.
In the measurements of the four spices in the holy anointing oil, we see that there were five hundred shekels of myrrh, two hundred fifty shekels of cinnamon, two hundred fifty shekels of calamus, and five hundred shekels of calamus.
There were three complete units, but the one in the middle was split in half. Very interesting.
The number five hundred signifies one unit of full responsibility.
Five signifies responsibility, and when you multiply it by one hundred, it is full responsibility.
How can we say that five is the number of responsibility?
The Ten Commandments were written on two tablets, with five on each tablet. The ten virgins in Matt. 25 are divided into two groups, five in each. In both cases the number five signifies responsibility.
And when you multiply this by one hundred, what we have is one unit of full responsibility.
The fact that cinnamon and calamus were half units, which together form one complete unit, signifies that the second of the Divine Trinity – Christ – was cut on the cross.
There were three complete units of spices, signifying the Triune God, and the one in the middle was split in half, signifying that Christ was cut, or split, on the cross.
It’s no accident that the second of the Divine Trinity was crucified or split on the cross, for it was typified or symbolized in the measurements of the holy anointing oil, namely the half-units of cinnamon and calamus.
God Himself wrote the Bible, and He put some clues or types in the Old Testament to point to the reality in the New Testament.
God Himself is the Author of the Bible, and He devised this holy anointing oil to signify the Triune God and also how the Son of God would be cut on the cross (Isa. 53:5, 12; Matt. 27:46; Gal. 3:13; Heb. 2:9; Acts 5:30; Rom. 3:25). How wonderful!
What do all these signify and how can they be applied to our Christian experience today?
The measure of the four spices, being three complete units of five hundred shekels each, the middle five hundred shekels being split into two parts, signifies the Triune God in resurrection, the second, the Son, being “split” by His death on the cross.
Since in the Bible five is the number for responsibility (Matt. 25:2 and footnote 1, Recovery Version Bible), the five elements in the compound ointment and the three units of five hundred shekels of the four spices signify the Triune God in resurrection as the power, the capability, for bearing responsibility.
Since the numbers three and five are related to God’s building (see footnote 2 in Gen. 6:15), these numbers in the compound ointment signify that in the compound Spirit, there is the element for God’s building.
Based on the above significances, the compounding of the four spices with the olive oil to make an anointing oil signifies the mingling of the above-mentioned elements with the Spirit of God through the process of Christ’s incarnation, human living, crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension to produce the compound Spirit for the building of Gods eternal dwelling place. Hallelujah!
The compound Spirit signifies that the Triune God in resurrection is mingled with humanity to bear the full responsibility for the building of God’s dwelling place. Wow!
He has done everything, He is doing everything, and He will do everything – He takes full responsibility, for He does everything by mingling Himself with man. Hallelujah!
When we speak in the meetings of the church, when we serve the Lord in the church life, and when we live the Christian life, we need to open to the Lord by exercising our spirit so that God would mingle Himself with us and do everything in us.
It’s not us who bear the responsibility; it is the Triune God in resurrection mingling Himself with us that can bear the full responsibility for the building up of the church as God’s dwelling place.
We simply need to be mingled with Him, anointed with Him, and filled with Him, allowing Him to do everything in us and through us.
Lord Jesus, we praise You for coming to the earth to not only show us a pattern of a God-man life but even more, to be cut on the cross for us. Praise the Lord, Jesus Christ died for us on the cross and was cut by God’s righteousness. Hallelujah, all that God is, all He has, and all He has accomplished in the processes that Christ went through is now compounded in the Spirit with our spirit! Lord, we open to You today. We exercise our spirit to touch You and enjoy You. Mingle Yourself more with us. Cause us to see that the Triune God in resurrection is mingling Himself with humanity to bear the full responsibility for the building up of the church as the building of God. Amen, Lord, we exercise our spirit and we let You mingle Yourself with us today so that You in us would bear the full responsibility for the building up of the church. We want to build up the church as Your house; we open to You and we want to be mingled with You more today!
The Anointing Teaches us All things by Painting us with the Compound Spirit
The holy anointing oil in Exo. 30 is a type of the compound Spirit and also of the anointing in John 2:20, 27.
Actually, the compound Spirit is the anointing. Just as the holy anointing oil had to anoint or paint the persons involved in the work of the tabernacle, the tabernacle, and all the utensils and things related to the tabernacle, so the compound Spirit anoints us or paints us all for God’s building. This is amazing!
The only way we can live the Christian life and church life is by having the anointing teaching us all things by painting us with the compound Spirit!
The anointing is not something mystical, something like a sixth sense that tells us to do this or that; the anointing is the Spirit who has been compounded or mingled with Christ’s incarnation, human living, crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension, containing also the divinity and humanity of Christ.
The connection between Exo. 30 and our experience is 1 John 2:20, where we are told that we believers in Christ have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of us know.
The compound Spirit has come into us as the anointing, and He teaches us all things by painting us with the compound Spirit so that all the elements of the Spirit would be applied to us.
The anointing which we have received from God abides in us, and we have no need for anyone to teach us anything (1 John 2:27) but rather, as the anointing teaches us concerning all things, we abide in the Lord.
The teaching of the anointing is not just that we don’t do this or don’t go there but even more that we abide in the Lord.
The anointing teaches us all things by painting us with the compound Spirit.
Just as the holy anointing oil painted or anointed the people and things involved with God’s building, we today need to be anointed or painted with the compound Spirit in all things.
The way the Lord teaches us concerning all things is not by teaching us this or that but by anointing us with all that He is (Heb. 8:11; John 6:45; 1 Thes. 4:9).
When we contact the Lord when we exercise our spirit to touch Him, He subjectively teaches us all things by painting us with what He is.
The Lord applies all the elements in the compound Spirit to our being.
We don’t know what we need, nor do we know where we are and what our situation is, but we can open to the Lord, and He can subjectively teach us all things by painting us with Himself.
We may be in a situation where the death of Christ needs to be applied to us; in ourselves, we don’t want to die to ourselves, but when we contact the Lord in spirit, we are painted with the death of Christ, and His crucifixion is applied to our natural being.
It is spontaneous, and no one needs to teach us about this – the anointing teaches us all things! The result of the teaching of the anointing is that we abide in the Lord (John 15:4-5).
Hallelujah, as we abide in Him, all that He is becomes ours, is dispensed into us, and we are constituted with what He is to become the same as He is in every possible way.
Thank the Lord that the anointing us teaches us all things and all we need to do is open to Him and exercise our spirit!
Many times we’re wrong but we are oblivious to this; when we touch the Lord in spirit, the moving of the anointing will teach us that we’re wrong.
As we open to the teaching of the anointing, we are convicted, reproved, corrected, adjusted, and even more, we’re anointed, painted with the compound Spirit.
The death of Christ, the uplifted humanity of Jesus, the resurrection of Christ, and His ascension, together with the divine element of the Spirit, are all applied to us in our experience. Wow, Hallelujah!
Thank You, Lord, for giving us the anointing! Hallelujah, we all have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of us know! Amen, Lord, we open to You. We open to the teaching of the anointing. We open to the anointing that abides in us and teaches us about everything. Yes, Lord, the anointing is true and is not a lie, and it teaches us to abide in the Lord! Anoint us more today. Paint us more with the compound Spirit so that all the elements in this Spirit would be applied to our being. Amen, Lord, apply Yourself as the compound Spirit to our being so that we may be constituted with God layer after layer! We just open to You. Teach us concerning all things by anointing us with all that You are. Apply Yourself to our being. Lead us and guide us in all things by applying Your death, resurrection, ascension, humanity, and divinity to us! Hallelujah, God is painting us with the compound Spirit so that all that the Spirit is would be constituted into our being! Praise the Lord!

– Th’ anointing’s here! The Lord is moving now in us; / The ointment dear to us has been applied. / His blood prevails! – Now I’d pray in spirit / As Thy Spirit groans; / Pray by the anointing, / Not as memory owns. / Not the mind applying / But with spirit pray, / Praising or beseeching / Spirit-led alway. / Not just by myself my / Spirit exercise, / But with’ others praying / I would do likewise; / Praying in the spirit, / As the spirit wants, / For ’tis in the inmost / Spirits have response. (Hymns #781 stanzas 2-3)
We have an anointing, and all of us know the will of God, which is to abide in Christ! Praise the Lord!
The anointing teaches us concerning all things, and this anointing is nothing else but the compound Spirit – the Spirit compounded or blended with Christ’s divinity, humanity, human living, crucifixion, death, resurrection, and ascension.
As the anointing moves in us, it applies all the elements in the compound Spirit to our being.
Praise the Lord! 🙌😃🙋🏼

Amen brother, the real mark of a successful day is did I get wet, painted, with the holy anointing oil and did I wet others. Amen
Furthermore, the Lord as the Spirit teaches us silently not merely in an outward way of teaching.
This is the teaching of the anointing in which we experience all the elements of Christ as the all-inclusive Spirit – His birth, living, death, resurrection and ascension – as the reality of the compound ointment.
When we walk according to our mingled spirit, we may even realise we are wrong in a certain matter.
Hallelujah for the compound Spirit of God, brother!
How marvellous it is that in this one Spirit we have the effectiveness of Christ’s birth, living, death, resurrection & ascension.
We do not merely have an imitation of the way Christ lived.
The Christian life is not the living out of our natural human virtues.
Only the Christian life that is the moving & working of the indwelling compound Spirit belongs to the tree of life.
The anointing teaches us concerning all things!
The teaching is by the moving of the Spirit, telling us no in many things!
No one needs to tell us we are wrong! it is our responsibility to enjoy the Spirit, to receive the Spirit and to abide by the Spirit!
