Adorn and Consummate the New Jerusalem by Enjoying, Experiencing, and Ministering Christ

And I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. Rev. 21:2

As believers in Christ, we can adorn and consummate the New Jerusalem by enjoying Christ, experiencing Christ, and ministering Christ for the building up of the church.

The consummation of the Bible is the final building of God, the New Jerusalem; eventually, the Triune God and redeemed humanity will be mingled, blended, and built up as one entity, the New Jerusalem! Hallelujah!

God is working to gain one thing: the building of God and man.

In the Old Testament, He wanted to gain the building, and He revealed His glory when the tabernacle was completed and when the temple was built.

When the house of God is completed and fully built, His glory is manifested, for He desires to dwell among men and in man.

In the Old Testament, He could dwell only among men, for there was no way for Him to enter into man.

In the New Testament, however, because Christ became a life-giving Spirit, He can enter into man and be one with man.

The building of God is a process, and this process covers the entire span of God’s organic salvation, starting from regeneration and then to sanctification, renewal, transformation, conformation, glorification, and building up.

God’s building work is a process that takes all the steps of God’s organic salvation so that God may build Himself into our being. His building into us is a lifelong matter.

It started when we were saved, or born again, and ever since that, God has been building Himself into us.

Right now, we as believers in Christ have God building Himself into us. His building work is going on in us all the time.

What God is burdened to do is to building HImself in Christ into our very intrinsic constitution so that divinity would be constituted into humanity and humanity would be constituted into divinity.

This is what God cares for today; He wants to build Himself into us and build us into God so that God and man, man and God, would become a mutual dwelling place of God and man consummating in the New Jerusalem.

We need to enjoy Christ and partake of His riches, even allow Him to make His home in our heart so that He may build Himself into us and build us into God.

As we do this, we become the church, the group of people where Christ is everything, for He saturates us, fills us, and permeates us.

This is what God desires; this is what He prophesied through Nathan to David when he wanted to build a house for God.

May we open to the Lord and let Him build Himself into us by making His home deep down in our heart so that we would intrinsically become part of God’s building, the church as the Body of Christ in this age, the bride of Christ in the next age, and the New Jerusalem for eternity.

Adorn and Consummate the New Jerusalem with our Enjoyment, Experience, and Ministering of the Triune God for God’s Building

And I heard a loud voice out of the throne, saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will tabernacle with them, and they will be His peoples, and God Himself will be with them [and be] their God...And I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. Rev. 21:3, 22

The consummation of the divine building is the New Jerusalem, a composition of divinity and humanity built together, blended together and mingled together as one entity.

As believers in Christ, we are a small New Jerusalem, and the church life is a miniature of the New Jerusalem in our experience today for a foretaste.

Therefore, we need to adorn and consummate the New Jerusalem not with anything of our natural man or the flesh with its efforts to please God but with our enjoyment, experience, and ministering of the Triune God for God’s building.

We adorn and consummate the New Jerusalem with God the Father as the golden base, God the Son as its pearl gates, and God the Spirit for its wall of precious stones.

And the building work of its wall was jasper; and the city was pure gold, like clear glass. The foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with every precious stone: the first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, emerald; the fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprase; the eleventh, jacinth; the twelfth, amethyst. And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; each one of the gates was, respectively, of one pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass. Rev. 21:18-21The New Jerusalem is of pure gold; the base of the city of pure gold, a type of the divine, holy, and pure nature of the Father.

The New Jerusalem has twelve gates, each of one pearl, signifying the Son with His life impartation and redemption.

The New Jerusalem has twelve foundations of all kinds of precious stones, which signify the transforming work of the Spirit to produce the precious materials.

How can we enjoy and experience the Triune God so that we have Him wrought into us for the building up of the church consummating in the New Jerusalem?

We need to drink the Spirit (the reality of the river of living water flowing from the throne), eat Christ as the tree of life (the reality of the tree of life growing on both sides of the river), and be under the throne of God the Father (the throne in the middle of the city).

May we practice the church life by drinking the Spirit through the exercise of our spirit over the Word and in the meetings so that we may drink the flowing Triune God.

As we drink the Spirit into whom we have been baptized (1 Cor. 12:13), we will also flow Him out, for whoever comes to the Lord to drink, out of his innermost being shall flow rivers of living water (John 4:13-14).

We need to exercise our spirit to eat the Lord as the tree of life, coming to Him in His word so that we may receive life and eat Him in His word, for His words are spirit and are life (John 6:63).

May we eat Christ, the overcoming Lion-Lamb, as the tree of life with His rich and fresh supply.

He is ever fresh, ever new, unsearchably rich, and full of life and life-supply when we come to Him in His word.

We need to partake of the divine nature and walk according to the divine nature of the Father in us.

As we enjoy the precious and exceedingly great promises of God, we partake of the divine nature and are constituted with God a little more in our intrinsic constitution.

As we partake of and walk according to the divine nature, eat Christ as the tree of life, and drink the Spirit as the river of water of life, we enjoy and experience the Triune God, and we have something of the Triune God to flow out and minister to others for God’s building.

Paul said in 1 Cor. 3:9 that we are God’s cultivated land, His building, and he went on in v. 10 that we should take heed how we build upon the unique foundation which has been laid, which is Christ.

It had a great and high wall and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names inscribed, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel...And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. Rev. 21:12, 14May we not build with wood, grass, and stubble, which mar and damage God’s building, but with gold, silver, and precious stones, to adorn and build up the church.

We are not here to destroy the Body of Christ but rather, to adorn and consummate it.

We do not dare to bring our flesh with us in the building work, for any effort of the flesh and expression of the natural man damages and mars God’s building.

We are here to adorn and consummate the New Jerusalem with our enjoyment, experience and ministering of the Triune God for the building up of the church.

We put aside our opinions, we reject the old “I” and our preferences, and we renounce our views, for we’re here to adorn and consummate the New Jerusalem.

May we be in fear and trembling when it comes to the building up of the church, having the aim to adorn the divine building with God the Father as the pure gold, God the Son as the pearl, and God the Spirit for the wall of precious stones.

May this be our attitude in our daily living and in the church life today.

Only such a work will build the church to prepare the bride and consummate the New Jerusalem, and only such a work will be rewarded by God at His judgment seat.

We need to do an eternal work, for the church is not something that is merely today, for this age, but it consummates in the New Jerusalem for eternity.

Lord Jesus, we want to adorn and consummate the New Jerusalem with God the Father as its golden base, God the Son as its pearl gates, and God the Spirit as the precious stones. May we daily enjoy and experience the Triune God so that we may be filled with God and minister Christ to others for the building up of the church. Amen, Lord, we come to You in Your word to drink the Spirit and eat Christ as the tree of life. We exercise our spirit as we come to Your word so that we may be filled with Christ as the tree of life and be one with Him as the overcoming Lion-Lamb! Amen, Lord, may Your words be to us spirit and life, as we come to You in Your word. We want to walk according to the divine nature, partake of Christ as the tree of life, and drink the Spirit as the river of life so that we may adorn and consummate the New Jerusalem! Amen, Lord, may our work in the church be to minister Christ to others for the building up of the church!

The Triune God and Redeemed Humanity will be Mingled, Blended, and Built up as One Entity – the New Jerusalem!

For also in one Spirit we were all baptized into one Body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and were all given to drink one Spirit. 1 Cor. 12:13 But whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall by no means thirst forever; but the water that I will give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into eternal life. John 4:14 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words which I have spoken to you are spirit and are life. John 6:63Rev. 21:2 and 10 show us that eventually, the Triune God and redeemed humanity will be mingled, blended, and built up as one entity – the New Jerusalem.

At the end of the Bible, we see the holy city, New Jerusalem, adorned as bride prepared for her husband.

The New Jerusalem is not a physical city; God is not after something physical but a spiritual entity, the mingling of God and man.

The New Jerusalem is built by God’s constituting of Himself into man to make man the same as God in life, in nature, and in constitution so that God and man may become a corporate entity (vv. 18-21).

The holy city is both God’s dwelling place and the tabernacle of God with man; in this city, both God and man dwell in oneness and complete mingling.

The features and characteristics of the New Jerusalem show both something of God and something of man.

In the middle of the city, there’s the throne of God and the Lamb, and there’s a crystal clear river flowing from the throne, a type of the Spirit.

On both sides of the river, there’s the tree of life, a type of Christ as the life and life supply of all of God’s people.

The gates of the wall are a type of Christ, who is the reality of the pearl.

The foundations of the city are of many kinds of precious stones, and the names of the twelve apostles are inscribed on them.

This shows that the apostles are constituted into the city.

The names of the twelve tribes are inscribed on the twelve gates; this shows that God is constituted into man and man is constituted into God.

The New Jerusalem is a composition of divinity and humanity blended and mingled together as one entity.

All the components of the holy city have the same life, nature, and constitution and thus are a corporate person (Rev. 21:3, 22).

The New Jerusalem is a composition, a building, that has been taking place throughout the ages and consummates in the holy city.

All the components of the city – God and man – have the same life and nature and are therefore a corporate person.

There, Christ and us will be eternally the same and one, for there will be one corporate Christ filling all and in all, and God will be forever glorified and expressed.

"The processed and consummated Triune God, according to the good pleasure of His desire and for the highest intention in His economy, is building Himself into His chosen people and His chosen people into Himself, that He may have a constitution in Christ as a mingling of divinity and humanity to be His organism and the Body of Christ, as His eternal expression and the mutual abode for the redeeming God and the redeemed man. The ultimate consummation of this miraculous structure of treasure will be the New Jerusalem for eternity"—Inscription on Witness Lees tomb. The New Jerusalem is a constitution of God and man and God, who are constituted into one (Rev. 22:17; 21:3, 22).

We are in the process of becoming the same as God in life and nature but, of course, not in the Godhead; one day, we will be part of the New Jerusalem, the ultimate mingling of God and man.

New Jerusalem is divinity expressed in humanity and humanity glorified in divinity, with the divine glory shining forth radiantly in humanity (v. 11).

These two – divinity and humanity – become a mutual dwelling place.

What we see in the New Jerusalem is that the One who is God yet man dwells in the one who is man yet God.

Also, the one who is man yet God dwells in the One who is God yet man.

This is the ultimate consummation of the Lord’s word in John 17:20, in that day you will know that I am in My Father and My Father is in Me and I in you.

The mutual abode produced by the constitution of the divine element into the human element and of the human element into the divine element is the center and reality of the universe (vv. 1-2, 22; cf. Eccl. 1:2).

Wow! This truly is amazing. This is what God is working to obtain, and this is what we are living out and working out today.

We live the Christian life and the church life for the building up, adorning, and consummating of the New Jerusalem, the eternal dwelling place of God and man!

Hallelujah, the processed and consummated Triune God is building Himself into us, His chosen people, and us into Himself so that He may obtain the New Jerusalem! Praise the Lord, God wants to obtain a constitution in Christ as a mingling of divinity and humanity to be His organism and the Body of Christ. Amen, Lord, we open to You today; we want to live out and work out the New Jerusalem. We open to being more mingled with God for the building up of the church. Gain Your eternal expression and the mutual abode for the redeeming God and the redeemed man. Constitute Yourself into us and constitute us into Yourself. Build Yourself into our intrinsic constitution and build us into God so that God and man, man and God, would become one entity, the Body of Christ consummating in the New Jerusalem! Amen, Lord, we give ourselves to You for this, for the building up of Your eternal dwelling place!

The conclusion of the divine revelation in the Bible is a building, the New Jerusalem. This building is a blending and mingling of divinity with humanity. This is proved by the description of the New Jerusalem in Revelation 21. Verse 3 refers to the New Jerusalem as “the tabernacle of God,” and verse 22 says, “I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.” The New Jerusalem as the tabernacle of God is for God to dwell in, and God and the Lamb as the temple are for the redeemed saints to dwell in. This indicates that the New Jerusalem will be a mutual dwelling place for God and man. Furthermore, this building is a composition of human beings. The gates are pearls inscribed with the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel (v. 12), and on the twelve foundations are the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb (v. 14). This indicates clearly that the New Jerusalem is a composition of the Triune God, who is the essence, center, and universality, and God’s redeemed people.

Amen, brother, we need to adorn and consummate the New Jerusalem with God the Father as its golden base, God the Son as its pearl gates, and God the Spirit for its wall of precious stones by drinking the Spirit, the flowing Triune God, as the river of water of life and eating Christ, the overcoming Lion- Lamb, as the tree of life with His rich and fresh supply.

May we not bring in our flesh, opinions, and preferences with us in the church life, but may we let God build Himself into us and build the church with the Triune we have experienced and enjoyed.

Lord Jesus, we want to experience You today so that we may build up the church with the Christ wrought into us!

The processed and consummated Triune God, according to the good pleasure of His desire and for the highest intention in His economy, is building Himself into His chosen people and His chosen people into Himself, that He may have a constitution in Christ as a mingling of divinity and humanity to be His organism and the redeeming God with the redeemed man, the miraculous structure of treasure, the New Jerusalem.

Lord keep constituting us with Yourself day by day, again and again until You in us and we in You are mingled together as one entity. Consummate the goal of Your eternal plan in making man the same as You are, the reality of the Body of Christ, and the New Jerusalem, God’s glory in humanity shines forth in splendor radiantly!!!!

We saints need a change of attitude in our living.

We need to adorn and consummate the New Jerusalem with gold, pearls & precious stones.

We need to daily drink the Spirit and eat Christ so that we may gain the life & nature of God, be filled with the sin-defying death of Jesus and His invincible resurrection life, and be transformed into precious stones.

We are here to adorn the Body of Christ with the riches of the Triune God.

May this be the goal of our Christian life for all our days.

Amen brother. Let’s prepare ourselves for our dear Bridegroom.

The New Jerusalem is a living composition of all the saints redeemed by God throughout all generations. It is the bride of Christ as His counterpart (John 3:29) and the holy city of God as His habitation, His tabernacle (v. 3). This is the heavenly Jerusalem (Heb. 12:22), which God has prepared for us and which Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob long after (Heb. 11:10, 16). This is also the Jerusalem which is above and which is our mother (Gal. 4:26). As the bride of Christ, the New Jerusalem comes out of Christ, her Husband, and becomes His counterpart, just as Eve came out of Adam, her husband, and became his counterpart (Gen. 2:21-24). She is prepared by participating in the riches of the life and nature of Christ. As the holy city of God, she is wholly sanctified unto God and fully saturated with God’s holy nature to be His habitation.

In both the Old Testament and the New Testament, God likens His chosen people to a spouse (Isa. 54:6; Jer. 3:1; Ezek. 16:8; Hosea 2:19; 2 Cor. 11:2; Eph. 5:31-32) and a dwelling place for Himself (Exo. 29:45-46; Num. 5:3; Ezek. 43:7, 9; Psa. 68:18; 1 Cor. 3:16-17; 6:19; 2 Cor. 6:16; 1 Tim. 3:15). The spouse is for His satisfaction in love, and the dwelling place is for His rest in expression. Both of these aspects will be ultimately consummated in the New Jerusalem. In her, God will have the fullest satisfaction in love and the utmost rest in expression for eternity.
