To abide in the Lord we need to be one spirit with Him, that is, to abide in our mingled spirit and to walk according to our mingled spirit, for it is in our spirit that we can live the Christian life today. Amen!
How can we abide in Christ and He abide in us? Unless we know and realize that Christ is the life-giving Spirit with and in our spirit to be one with us, we cannot comprehend how we can abide in Christ.
We abide in Christ not by thinking about Him or by agreeing with His word; we abide in Him by means of our mingled spirit.
We abide in Christ by being in our spirit and by doing all things in our spirit. The mutual abiding of God and man is not in our mind, emotion, or will, nor is it in our heart; it is in our mingled spirit.
Our spirit is indwelt by the divine Spirit, and the Lord as the Spirit is with our spirit.
Even more, we are joined to the Lord as one spirit.
There are two spirits – the human spirit by which we can contact, receive, and enjoy God, and the divine Spirit of God; these two have been mingled together to become one spirit.
Hallelujah, we are one spirit with the Lord!
On one hand, the Lord is in the heavens, seated above all things, exalted and enthroned.
On the other hand, the same Lord is now the Spirit in our spirit and with our spirit.
He is the divine Spirit mingled with our spirit, and we are mingled with Him as one spirit. Praise the Lord!
In the matter of the abiding, we need to realize that we are already one spirit with the Lord, and we simply need to abide in Him.
Abiding in the Lord is normal, and spontaneous, and it should be habitual.
In the physical realm, we have a feeling in our stomach either when we’re hungry or when we eat something wrong; otherwise, we have no feeling, for the food comes in, is digested, and everything is done properly.
Similarly in the spiritual realm, we may not know when we abide in the Lord; however, we definitely know when we do not abide in Him.
When there is a separation, insulation, or limitation between us and the Lord, we sense something is wrong. This is the secret on the negative side to abiding in Christ.
For example, we may react in a certain way to someone giving us a hard time; after we do this, we have an uneasy feeling, a “spiritual stomachache” coming from our spirit. Oh, Lord!
May we realize that we have been born of God, and it is in our spirit that we can contact God, worship God, enjoy God, and abide in the Lord!
May we remain in our spirit today, and may we repent every time we sense we are out of our spirit, returning to the Lord and enjoying Him in our mingled spirit!
To Abide in the Lord is to Abide in our Mingled Spirit to Live the Life of a God-man
1 Cor. 6:17 is a crucial verse for our Christian life; we are joined to the Lord as one spirit, and it is in our spirit that we are joined to the Lord.
Today the Spirit of God and our human spirit are mingled as one within us so that we can live a God-man life.
To abide in the Lord is to abide in our mingled spirit so that we may live the life of a God-man, a life that is God yet man and man yet God. Amen!
Our Christian life is a life in our mingled spirit, a God-man life; it is a living of the two spirits joined as one.
This means that in our daily living, we need to abide in the Lord, that is, abide in our mingled spirit, so that the Spirit of God joined with our spirit and mingled with our spirit would be expressed through us.
The mingled spirit is a spirit that is one with God and that is the same as God in His life and nature but not in His Godhead (1 John 5:11; 2 Pet. 1:5).
The divine Spirit and the human spirit are mingled as one within us; today we can live the life of a God-man, a life that is God yet man and man yet God (Gal. 2:20; Phil. 1:19-21). This is the Christian life.
The Christian life is not just a holy life, a religious life, or merely a spiritual life.
The Christian life is a God-man life, the life of a God-man by abiding in the Lord day by day.
Our Christian life is the living of Christ from within us by our abiding in our mingled spirit.
When we abide in our mingled spirit, the Lord as the Spirit has a way to spread into our mind, emotion, and will, and He will be expressed through us.
Our living will be God expressed – it will be man yet God, God yet man; we will live a life of God and man mingled together.
The God-man living is the living of the two spirits joined and mingled together as one.
The divine life of God in our spirit is the dominant life, but this life needs a way to express itself; our human life is both the container and the way for the divine life to be expressed. Praise the Lord!
As we are mingled with the Lord and abide in our mingled spirit, we have not just the human nature but even more the divine nature saturating and permeating the human nature to be expressed through the human nature.
In this way, God can live in us and we can live out Christ, and our life will be the life of a God-man.
May we see that our spirit and the divine Spirit are mingled as one and may we abide in our mingled spirit today.
When we abide in our mingled spirit, we can live the life of a God-man, for the Lord has a way to live in us and we are being made the same as He is in life and nature but not in the Godhead. Amen!
We are one spirit with the Lord and He is one spirit with us!
This means that we are in Him and He is in us, and we are one with Him in every possible way (John 3:16; 1 John 5:12). Amen!
For us to be proper Christians who express God today, we must know that the Lord Jesus today as the embodiment of the Triune God is the Spirit indwelling our spirit and mingled with our spirit (2 Cor. 3:17; 1 Cor. 15:45; 6:17). Amen!
What we need to know first is not merely that we should read the Bible or go to the meetings; it is that the Spirit indwells us to be one spirit with us. This is the key to our Christian life.
The first thing we need to teach the new ones right after they get saved is that they have a spirit and that the Lord Jesus as the Spirit has come into them to indwell them and be one with them in their spirit.
The most basic matter in our Christian life is not only to know that Jesus is our Savior and He forgives us of our sins; it is that we are one spirit with the Lord, for He and us are one in spirit. Amen!
The Lord is the life-giving Spirit in our spirit, and we and Him are joined together as one spirit. Praise the Lord!
When we see this organic union, when we see that we are born of God to be spirit (John 3:6) and we can worship God and contact Him only by means of our spirit (John 4:24), we will choose to abide in our mingled spirit, thus being one spirit with the Lord.
Our divine birth took place in our spirit, and we can worship God only in our spirit.
May we see this. May we see that we’re one spirit with the Lord, and when we abide in our mingled spirit we have genuine holiness, spirituality, and victory over everything negative.
It is by abiding in the Lord that we are members of the Body of Christ in a practical way and that we can live the normal Christian life and church life.
When we abide in the Lord by abiding in our mingled spirit, we have no problems, for we’re one with the One who has conquered every enemy and dealt with every negative thing! Hallelujah!
May we abide in our mingled spirit by unceasingly praying so that we may have a constant and unceasing trust in this living One who is one spirit with us!
Lord Jesus, we choose to abide in our mingled spirit so that we may abide in the Lord and live a God-man life today! Hallelujah, the divine Spirit and our human spirit are joined and mingled together to be one spirit, and we today are one spirit with the Lord! Amen, Lord, we want to abide in You today by being in our mingled spirit. We want to abide in You in all things by abiding in our mingled spirit. Hallelujah, the Lord Jesus as the embodiment of the Triune God is the Spirit indwelling our spirit and mingled with our spirit! Amen, Lord, we want to live in this joining of the two spirits, in the mingled spirit, so that we may live the life of a God-man! We don’t just want to live a religious life or a victorious life; we want to live a God-man life by abiding in the Lord! Hallelujah, our mingled spirit is a spirit that is one spirit with God and that is the same as God in His life and nature but not in His Godhead! Amen, Lord, we simply abide in our spirit to live the life of a God-man today!
Practice being One Spirit with the Lord by Walking according to the Mingled Spirit
Many Christians seek holiness, blessing, spirituality, and a victorious life; they may buy many Christian books on these topics and try to practice what those books say.
Sadly to say, all these methods and how-tos do not work; the Christian life is not according to a method or an ordinance.
Our Christian life is not primarily a victorious life or a spiritual life but a life in the organic union with the Lord.
We and the Lord are one spirit, and we simply need to abide in the Lord, that is, abide in our mingled spirit.
The Bible requires us that we walk according to the mingled spirit (Rom. 8:4).
All the righteous requirements of God are fulfilled in us when we walk according to the mingled spirit.
When we abide in our mingled spirit and walk according to the mingled spirit, we have no problems but rather, we enjoy all that He is and we express Him effortlessly.
God doesn’t want us to try to express Him or do our best to show forth what God is; He simply wants us to abide in the Lord, and as we abide in our mingled spirit, the Lord can live in us and He can express Himself through us.
When we abide in the Lord day by day, practicing to be one spirit with the Lord, we spontaneously live Christ, and He is expressed through us.
When we practice being one spirit with the Lord by walking according to the mingled spirit, we lack nothing, and we need to do nothing other than enjoy what the Lord has accomplished.
The Lord has accomplished everything, and now He is the Spirit with our spirit; we are joined to Him as one spirit.
When we practice being one spirit with the Lord, we will discover that the secret is to abide in the mingled spirit and to walk according to the mingled spirit.
The reason there is much spiritual death in the church today is because the saints do not abide in the mingled spirit and they do not walk according to the mingled spirit.
When we abide in the mingled spirit and walk according to the mingled spirit, we worship God, we receive His instant word, and we dwell with Him and He dwells with us.
All that He is becomes ours by faith, and He takes upon Himself all our weaknesses, shortcomings, sins, and problems.
May we learn the key to everything in our Christian life: the wonderful Spirit in our regenerated spirit who has become one spirit with our spirit! Amen!
May we live in the spirit and let Christ fill and saturate us until He permeates our whole being and is therefore expressed through us (Eph. 3:17).
When we live in the mingled spirit and walk according to the mingled spirit, the Lord has a way to fill our inner being with Himself, and He saturates and permeates us with all that He is.
He is making His home deep down in our heart, rearranging our inner being and reconstituting us with what He is.
Amen, as we practice being one spirit with the Lord, we abide in Him and He abides in us (John 15:4-5). We are in Him, He is in us, and we live Him, while He lives in us! Amen!
This is not a “how-to” live the Christian life; this is the organic way for us to abide in the Lord and live the life of a God-man by practicing to be one spirit with Him!
May we practice this daily. May we come to the Lord again and again and live one spirit with Him in all things.
Lord Jesus, we want to abide in the mingled spirit and walk according to the mingled spirit today. Hallelujah for the key to everything in our Christian life – our mingled spirit! Amen, Lord, may we realize that the wonderful Spirit as the consummation of the processed Triune God dwells in our regenerated spirit and is one spirit with our spirit! Hallelujah, we are one spirit with the Lord! Amen, Lord, we want to live in the spirit and let You fill and saturate us until You permeate our whole being and You are expressed through us. We open to You, dear Lord. We want to remain in our spirit to worship God, receive His instant word, and dwell with Him. Save us from merely trying to do this or that for God apart from abiding in the Lord. Oh Lord, we want to practice being one spirit with the Lord in all the details of our daily life. We want to abide in You so that You may abide in us. Keep us in our mingled spirit today!
