Enjoy Different Aspects of Grace – God in Christ Dispensed into us for our Enjoyment

The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all the saints. Amen. Rev. 22:21

As believers in Christ, we need to know, experience, and enjoy the grace of God, that is, we need to enjoy God in Christ as our portion for our enjoyment, partaking of the many different aspects of grace in our experience day by day. Amen!

This week, we come to the topic, Grace in Acts, and we want to see how we can enjoy Christ as grace in our daily life. Many times in the church life, we greet one another with, Grace be with you! or Grace to you, and we do well to do so.

But what is grace? How can we enjoy grace? How is grace related to our daily living? We need to see that the grace of God is a matter of tremendous significance, for today we are in the age of grace, and the whole Bible ends with, The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all the saints.

What crowns the entire revelation in the Bible, what consummates and even carries out the revelation in the holy word of God, is grace.

It is not our doing things for God, our striving, or our struggling to do things for Him – it is grace.

When Christ came, grace came. Before Christ, there was the law of Moses, and the people of God had to obey the law in order to be properly related to God.

But now that Christ has come, grace is here. We are no longer in the age of the law – we are now in the age of grace, and we can and should enjoy Christ as grace in all things.

Grace is the Triune God Himself Dispensed into our Being and Experienced as our Enjoyment

That He might display in the ages to come the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. Eph. 2:7

As believers in Christ, we need to know, experience, and enjoy the grace of God (Eph. 2:7; 1 Cor. 15:10). God’s grace, the grace of God, is a matter of tremendous significance.

According to the divine revelation in the New Testament, grace is not just something that God does for us or gives to us but God Himself, what God is to us for our enjoyment (John 1:16-17; 2 Cor. 12:9).

The New Testament reveals that grace is mainly not the work that God does for us or the things He gives us; rather, grace is the Triune God Himself dispensed into our being and experienced as our enjoyment.

Many times we come to the Lord and ask Him to do things for us, to help us to do better, and to make us a better brother or sister, so that we may bring a blessing to the church life.

But this is not grace; grace is something intrinsic, something that is a matter of the Triune God dispensed into our being to be experienced by us as our enjoyment. Amen!

We may understand this mentally, but how much are we in the actual experience of grace in our daily life? May we have a prayer in us that the Lord would grant us today’s measure of grace. How much we need the Lord’s grace every day.

May we pray for one another to enjoy God in Christ as grace. May we pray for one another that all the saints would experience today’s measure of grace.

John 1:17 tells us that grace came through Jesus Christ; this indicates that grace is not a thing but a person. The personification of grace is God Himself.

Paul realised this when he said that he laboured more abundantly than others, yet not him but the grace of God which is with him (1 Cor. 15:10).

God doesn’t just give us a gift, something called grace; grace is a Person, for when Christ came, grace came. The grace of God is with us; may this grace, which is the wonderful person of Christ to be enjoyed by us, not turn out to be in vain.

If we put together 1 Cor. 15:10 and Gal. 2:20 we see that, no longer I but Christ, is not I but the grace of God which is with me. Grace is the person of Jesus Christ; grace came in the person of Jesus Christ. When God is enjoyed by us, that is grace.

God wants to be enjoyed by man as grace, so He came in the person of Jesus Christ as grace to be enjoyed by us.

Grace is God in His Son Jesus Christ to be our portion so that we may enjoy all that He is. Grace is God approaching us, being enjoyed by us, and coming to be our experience and enjoyment.

For this to happen, God went through a process. He became a man, being incarnated to be a human being, and man saw Him and touched Him, and they received grace upon grace from Him.

He died on the cross to accomplish redemption, and He went further to become a life-giving Spirit.

The human life He had was amazing, perfect, and bountiful in expressing God in all His divine attributes manifested in His human virtues.

But by the grace of God I am what I am; and His grace unto me did not turn out to be in vain, but, on the contrary, I labored more abundantly than all of them, yet not I but the grace of God which is with me. 1 Cor. 15:10But then He died, and after three days of being in death, He resurrected to become a life-giving Spirit. He overcame death, broke out of death, and resurrected.

Now the processed Triune God has been consummated to be the life-giving Spirit, and this Spirit gives us grace and even is grace with our spirit.

God invested a lot of time and work to go through a process in order to become grace with our spirit for us to enjoy Him.

Grace is not merely Christ Himself; it is also Christ moving, Christ working, Christ reigning, Christ convincing, Christ subduing, Christ saving, and Christ uplifting.

Grace is not just Christ; it is Christ doing many things for our enjoyment and experience. We may not have thought of grace in this way, but grace is Christ in His heavenly ministry moving, working, reigning, convincing, subduing, saving, and uplifting.

When we enjoy Christ, when we see and appreciate this living and active Christ, we partake of Him as grace.

May we come to the Lord day by day by turning to our spirit to enjoy Him as grace. May we realise that the personified God, which is grace, is available to us for our enjoyment and experience.

Grace is a matter of our allowing Christ to be everything to us for our enjoyment. Grace is not a matter of what we can do but of what He is to us and what He can do in us, to us, for us, and through us.

Lord Jesus, we want to know, experience, and enjoy the grace of God with our spirit! Hallelujah, grace is God Himself for our enjoyment! Amen, Lord, we open to You today to just enjoy You! May we have a change in our concept from asking You to do things for us and give things to us to coming to enjoy You as grace! Hallelujah, grace is the Triune God Himself dispensed into our being and experienced as our enjoyment! Amen, Lord, we want to enjoy You today. May we see that the personification of grace is God Himself, and may we allow You to be everything to us and in us! Praise the Lord, it is no longer I but Christ! Hallelujah, we labour for the Lord, yet it is not us but the grace of God which is with us! Thank You, Lord, that we can enjoy You as grace. Hallelujah, grace is God in His Son Jesus Christ to be our portion so that we can enjoy all that He is! Amen, Lord, we want to enjoy Christ moving, working, reigning, convincing, subduing, saving, and uplifting! Oh, what a wonderful grace!

Different Aspects of Grace for our Experience and Enjoyment in our Christian Life

And with great power the apostles gave testimony of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all. Acts 4:33

The New Testament shows us many different aspects of grace for our experience and enjoyment in our Christian life. If we were to read the entire New Testament and check, there may be 100 or so aspects of grace; in this article, we would like to mention and focus on 17 of them.

Thank the Lord for the different aspects of grace in our experience!

In Acts 4:33 we see great grace; after the Spirit had been poured out in the early days in the book of Acts, the saints had great grace with them.

They came together in one accord, meeting together, breaking bread from house to house, and with great power the apostles gave testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus.

And great grace was upon them all. May today we have great grace upon us all as we remain in the teaching and fellowship of the apostles, praying in one accord, and meeting from house to house.

For the grace of God, bringing salvation to all men, has appeared. Titus 2:11 You therefore, my child, be empowered in the grace which is in Christ Jesus. 2 Tim. 2:1 We believe that the Lord has a yearning, an interest, a desire to bring more grace to us and minister more grace to us, even to flow out more grace to us. We simply need to cooperate with Him. May there be great grace upon all of us in all the local churches in Africa, Europe, Asia, North America, and South America.

The more we enter into this grace, the more this grace will bring us into the one accord and will enable us to maintain the one accord and to bear the Lord’s testimony at the end of this age. Amen!

Acts 11:23 speaks of visible grace; Barnabas travelled to Antioch, and when he arrived, he saw the grace of God. Wow, grace can be visibly seen!

How can this be? He saw something transpiring among the saints; their lives were different, people were being changed, there was joy and peace there, and grace was manifested visibly.

There was something manifested in their living and in their meeting together, and grace was visible.

People today say, If I could only see God, maybe I would believe in Him. Well, we need to invite them to the meetings of the church so that they see the grace of God visibly!

We can all testify that, when we come to the meetings of the church, we see grace among the saints. We may be full of worries or tired, but grace is our portion in the meetings, and we are richly supplied by the visible grace.

Many of us can testify of experiences where we have seen grace. When we see grace, we rejoice and are encouraged.

Grace saves us (Eph. 2:5; Titus 2:11; 2 Tim. 1:9). We are saved not by deeds or works but by grace. Amazing grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me! This hymn, composed by John Newton, is so rich and wonderful, for it comes from his experience of Christ.

Though he was a tough and rough person, one day he had a turn to the Lord, and he realised that he needed God. Grace saves us. We are saved by grace. We are not saved by law or religion but by grace. The grace of God brings salvation to all men.

Grace empowers us (2 Tim. 2:1). As degradation creeps into the churches and many deviate from God’s economy, we need to be empowered in the grace which is in Christ Jesus.

Timothy was Paul’s spiritual child and younger co-worker; he was encouraged by Paul to be empowered in the grace, in the face of all degradation.

In the time of degradation and decline, we need to be empowered in the grace. Grace can do this in us.

Grace is imparted (Gal. 2:9). James and Cephas and John perceived that grace was given to Paul; something was imparted to Paul.

The persecutor of the church who used to oppose the Lord and the church, now had grace imparted to him. This is not a doctrinal matter, it is not a matter of teaching, but a matter of experience and enjoyment.

John 1:14 and 16-17 speak of the real grace. Grace and reality go together as a pair. The Word became flesh and tabernacled among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and reality. Grace is real.

We all have tasted grace. We have seen grace. Grace is real. Amen!

For if, by the offense of the one, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ. Rom. 5:17 In order that just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness unto eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Rom. 5:21 In Acts 14:26, we see that the brothers are commended to the grace of God for the work which they were about to fulfil. After five brothers came together to minister to the Lord with prayer and fasting, the Spirit came in and asked them to set aside Saul and Barnabas for the work to which He had called them.

The brothers commended the two to the Lord and to the grace of God. For us to do the work of God is altogether a matter of grace.

Ephesians 3:8 speaks of grace to function. Grace was given to Paul to function in announcing to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ as the gospel. Paul had a particular function given to him, and this function was conveyed to him through grace.

Hebrews 4:16 speaks of grace for timely help. We can and should come forward with boldness to the throne of grace to receive mercy and find grace for timely help. How do we access grace? How do we receive grace? We need to come to the throne of grace in our spirit.

The throne represents authority, and in this case, it is of grace, flowing out with the riches of God to us. We can come forward with boldness by applying the precious blood of Christ to come to the Lord in our spirit and be supplied with grace for timely help.

Every day, we can take time to come to the Lord in our daily living to enjoy Him.

In Romans 5:2, 17, and 20-21, we see the abounding, reigning grace. We stand in this grace and boast in it. Grace is our standing, and grace is our boast.

Furthermore, grace reigns in us. When we enjoy the Lord, when we enjoy the different aspects of grace in our daily experience, grace reigns in us.

The more we experience grace, the more we receive the abundance of grace, we reign in life through Christ, for He reigns in us. Grace must reign in us as king to overcome any kind of negative thing. This reigning through righteousness is unto eternal life, consummating in the New Jerusalem. Amen!

Lord Jesus, we want to enjoy the many different aspects of grace in our daily Christian life and church life. Amen, Lord, may we enjoy You as grace and be filled with You as grace so that we may have great grace among us! May grace be so real to us in our daily living, our work, and in our behaviour and change in life that grace is visible! Oh may all see the grace of God being enjoyed and expressed among us in the church life! Empower us by Your grace. Impart more of Your grace to us so that we may live the Christian life. May we partake of the real grace of God, enjoying Christ as grace in our daily living. Amen, Lord, we need Your grace for us to function in the church life in a normal way. We come forward to the throne of grace to receive mercy and find grace for timely help. Amen, Lord, we need Your grace today! May the enjoyment of Christ as grace reign in us so that grace reigns in us! Amen, Lord, we receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness to reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ! Praise the Lord!

And He has said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness. Most gladly therefore I will rather boast in my weaknesses that the power of Christ might tabernacle over me. 2 Cor. 12:9

Romans 3:24 tells us that we are justified by His grace. We are not justified by works; we are freely justified by His grace.

Lamentations 3:55 tells us how to receive grace: by calling on the name of the Lord. When we call on the name of the Lord, we receive grace! Oh Lord Jesus!

Romans 12:6 speaks of gifts given to us according to the grace. Each believer in Christ has gifts given to him according to the grace. Hallelujah!

A very enjoyable aspect of grace is sufficient grace, seen in 2 Corinthians 12:9. Because of the revelations that Paul received from the Lord, so that his heart is not lifted up because of the words he heard and the visions he saw, God gave him a thorn in the flesh.

Paul asked the Lord three times to remove this thorn, but the Lord’s only answer was, My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness. So Paul much rather boasted in his weakness so that the power of Christ might tabernacle over him.

The grace of Christ is the power that is made perfect in our weakness. If we are strong, we can’t enjoy grace; when we are weak, which we all are, we can enjoy Christ as grace.

The all-sufficient grace overshadows us, supports us, and strengthens us positively. This grace also protects us and covers us, defending us from the enemy.

We do not want to show that we are weak; especially the brothers think that they are so strong, and they put on a brave face when they are in the meetings. But when we’re strong, the Lord cannot operate in us, for it seems that we don’t need Him as grace.

Many times when things go well, we are self-sufficient and live as if we don’t need the Lord. Oh Lord! So the Lord arranges things in our life to show us how weak we are, and sometimes He may even allow things to remain in our life to continually expose our weakness.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brothers. Amen. Gal. 6:18 The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you. 1 Cor. 16:23 May we realise that we are weak and dependent on the Lord, and may we realise that this is a blessing, for His grace can be sufficient to us. Amen!

2 Cor. 13:14 speaks of the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. The apostle Paul saw that the grace is of the Lord Jesus Christ, and this grace of Christ, with the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, is with us, even with our spirit. Praise the Lord for the grace of Jesus Christ!

The grace of the Lord Jesus is with our spirit; Christ as grace is with our spirit (Gal. 6:18; 1 Cor. 16:23; 2 Tim. 4:22).

Where is grace today? Grace is with our spirit. The throne of God is in our spirit. The way to touch grace and receive grace is by exercising our spirit. May we not neglect our spirit but treasure our spirit.

The whole Bible ends with, The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all the saints (Rev. 22:21). Many people know that Genesis 1:1 says that in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

But who knows how the Bible ends? What the Lord has been doing throughout the Bible is to bring us all into a more subjective and personal experience of Christ.

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth, but throughout the centuries, He wants to come to be grace to us. May we be those who enjoy the many different aspects of grace in our Christian life and church life today and every day!

Lord Jesus, we open to You to enjoy the different aspects of grace in the situations we’re going through today. We exercise our spirit to call on Your name and partake of You as grace. Amen, Lord, may we enjoy You as the sufficient grace today. May Your grace be manifested in our weakness today. Amen, Lord, Your grace is sufficient for us! Even as we go through difficult situations, when our weakness is manifested and made clear, we want to enjoy You as grace and partake of all that You are in spirit. Oh Lord, even when it seems that we can’t bear something, for we are so weak, we come to you! Cover us, protect us, and overshadow us with Your grace. Support us, sustain us, and strengthen us by Your grace. Hallelujah, the grace of the Lord Jesus is with our spirit. Amen, Lord, we turn to our spirit and we exercise our spirit to enjoy You as grace! Hallelujah, the grace of the Lord Jesus is with all the saints! Praise the Lord for the different aspects of grace, all of which are God in Christ for our enjoyment today!

In 2 Corinthians 12:9 we see the sufficient grace of Christ to the apostle Paul as the power of Christ that was perfected in weakness and that overshadowed the apostle. God gave the apostle Paul many high revelations, so God was concerned for him that he might be proud in receiving these many revelations. God had even brought him to the third heaven and to Paradise to hear unspeakable words, which it was not allowed for a man to speak (vv. 2-4). So God gave him a thorn, which was a messenger of Satan, an evil spirit, to buffet him all the time (v. 7). Paul prayed three times for the thorn to be removed, but the Lord would not remove it. Instead, He told Paul, “My grace is sufficient for you” (vv. 8-9). No one could bear such a thorn, but the Lord’s grace could. This all-sufficient grace became the power to sustain and support Paul. It also overshadowed him, tabernacled over him, to protect and cover him. Thus, the all-sufficient grace does two things. First, it supports, sustains, and strengthens us positively; this is offensive. Second, it covers and protects us; this is defensive. This all-sufficient grace is Christ, and Christ is the processed, consummated Triune God to be the Spirit. Christ as the last Adam became a life-giving Spirit (1 Cor. 15:45b).

Dear brother, we need to know, experience, and enjoy the grace of God!

Grace is what God is to us in Christ for our enjoyment.

It’s not just what God does for us or gives us, but the Triune God Himself dispensed into our being and experienced as our enjoyment.

His grace causes us to reign in life, and His grace is sufficient for us.

Lord Jesus, keep us enjoying You as grace today. May grace reign in us so that we may reign in life! Amen, Lord, Your grace is sufficient for us! Oh, all-sufficient grace – never powerless!

We can reign in life by grace, which is Christ in God to be our portion.

We can reign in God’s life over Satan, the world, sin, the flesh, ourselves, and all outward circumstances.

We more than conquer in the Lord-Spirit.

Amen. Grace is the triune god experienced and enjoyed by us.

By this grace, we can also reign in life, that is, to conquer, subdue, and rule over Satan, the world, sin, the flesh, ourselves, and all the environmental circumstances.

We also need to realise his grace is sufficient for us, so we do not trust in ourselves.

Amen, Lord, thank you for this all-sufficient grace. Lord, may we enjoy You more today.

1. Grace in its highest definition is

God in the Son to be enjoyed by us;

It is not only something done or giv’n,

But God Himself, our portion glorious.

2. God is incarnate in the flesh that we

Him may receive, experience ourself;

This is the grace which we receive of God,

Which comes thru Christ and which is Christ Himself.

3. Paul the Apostle counted all as dung,

’Twas only God in Christ he counted grace;

’Tis by this grace—the Lord experienced—

That he surpassed the others in the race.

4. It is this grace—Christ as our inward strength—

Which with His all-sufficiency doth fill;

It is this grace which in our spirit is,

There energizing, working out God’s will.

5. This grace, which is the living Christ Himself,

Is what we need and must experience;

Lord, may we know this grace and by it live,

Thyself increasingly as grace to sense.

Day 1. The New Testament reveals that grace is the Triune God Himself dispensed into our being and experienced as our enjoyment.

Hence, today, we need to know, experience, and enjoy the grace of God. This grace came through Jesus Christ, indicating grace is a person – the personification of God’s grace!

When we realise, experience, and enjoy this person as our portion in our circumstances, like Paul, we will always declare, ” Not I, but the grace of God which was with me!” May this be our constant experience and declaration!

As God-men today, may we learn to live & reign in life by grace! May we conquer, subdue, and rule over Satan, the world, sin, the flesh, ourselves, and all the environmental circumstances!

His grace is “all-sufficient” for us – able to support, sustain, strengthen, cover, and protect us, Amen! Amen, Lord! You are the all-sufficient grace to bring us through to glory!

Amen, brother, grace is actually what Christ is to us for our enjoyment, the Triune God Himself dispensed into our being.

The all-sufficient grace supports and strengthens us and covers and protects us.

By grace, we can reign in life as God-men but not in the Godhead.

To reign is to conquer and subdue Satan, the world, sin, the flesh and environmental circumstances.

Amen, Lord Jesus, may we experience Your grace today to subdue the world. Dispense Yourself more into us, may we enjoy You more today. Amen Lord, may Your grace reign in us.

To receive and experience grace, we need to enjoy God.

As Paul saw grace is a person and this person is the Triune God Himself in Christ as the Spirit dispensed into us for our enjoyment by which He becomes our all-sufficient grace to reign as kings with the divine life over Satan, sin, death and all our earthly environment.

Lord, be our all- sufficient grace today!

Praise the Lord we can enjoy a bit of eternity now in the church life…in the New Jerusalem death will be swallowed up and the light and life will be our eternal joy, because God and the Lamb is the living stream that flows out of the throne of Triune God.

Today while it is still today we are enjoying and eating from the Tree of Life….praise the Lord for the river of life that flows in and out of… it makes the lame to walk and the blind to see.

May we allow the grace of God to fill us and overflow from us into each other.
