Christ was Processed to become Bread for us to Eat and become His Mystical Body

The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the fellowship of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the fellowship of the body of Christ? 1 Cor. 10:16

Our Christian life is a life of feasting on the Lord, and our enjoyment culminates and issues in the Lord’s table, where we have the fellowship of His blood and body, the participation in the Lord, the enjoyment of the Lord in mutuality and fellowship, for He is giving Himself to us to be our food and drink. Hallelujah!

Chapter 10 of 1 Corinthians is a wonderful chapter written by Paul, and it includes three wonderful items related to Christ – He is our spiritual food (our daily manna), He is our spiritual rock (flowing out living water), and He is the reality of the Lord’s Table.

Christ is our spiritual food, the unique food provided to us by God.

Just as the Israelites ate manna in the wilderness as the unique heavenly food given to them by God, so we today on earth have Christ as our daily manna.

We need to daily come to the Lord in His word, especially in the morning, to enjoy Him as our manna, our unique food supply.

The Lord wants to change our diet to a diet of Christ, and He does it by giving Himself to us to be our food.

We all can testify that, when we come to the Lord in the morning in His word, exercising our spirit to enjoy Him and eat Him, we are nourished with the Lord, and we “gather the manna,” gathering a portion of Christ to enjoy and be supplied with.

Christ is also our rock, our spiritual rock, who follows us in our Christian life for the purpose of supplying us with the living water.

Just as the children of Israel had a rock following them in the wilderness, and whenever they needed water, the rock provided it to them, so we have Christ following us. He has been smitten on the cross by the righteousness of God, and from this cleft rock, living water flows.

We can all drink the living water today! Hallelujah! Whenever we are thirsty, we can come to Him and drink.

We don’t need to strike Christ again, for He has already been crucified; we simply need to speak to Christ, exercising our spirit to contact Him and ask Him to give us to drink, and He will flow out the Spirit as the living water for us to drink. Praise the Lord!

Whenever we have problems, we need to realize we need to drink more. When we murmur and are annoyed with something, even complain to God about things, we need to simply come to the Lord in faith, identify ourselves with the crucified Christ, and ask the Lord to give us to drink.

He is right there, with us and in us, and He flows out the Spirit for us to drink and be satisfied. Praise the Lord!

Christ was Processed to Give Himself to us to Partake of Him as our Feast by Eating Him and Drinking Him

The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the fellowship of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the fellowship of the body of Christ? Seeing that there is one bread, we who are many are one Body; for we all partake of the one bread. 1 Cor. 10:16-17

1 Cor. 10:16-17 speaks of the Lord’s table; the emphasis of the Lord’s Table is not an outward practice we need to keep every week or even every day, but the fellowship of the Lord’s blood and body.

The emphasis of the Lord’s table is the participation in the Lord Jesus Christ, the enjoyment of the Lord in mutuality, in fellowship with one another (v. 21).

Actually, the Lord’s table is an expression and continuation of all that the Lord was to us that week.

If we do not eat the Lord as our daily manna and we don’t drink Him as our living water flowing from the cleft rock, what do we have when we come to the Lord’s Table? We don’t have anything.

Jesus therefore said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you do not have life within yourselves. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up in the last day. For My flesh is true food, and My blood is true drink. John 6:53-55
When we praise the Lord at His table, what do we praise Him for? We praise Him for what He was to us that week, what we have enjoyed of the Lord that week.

If we eat Him and drink Him, if we partake of Him, we have much to praise Him for at the Lord’s Table.

It is easy to focus on calling the right hymns at the table meeting or making sure we have enough prayers and praises, but the emphasis at the Lord’s table meeting is that we eat and drink Christ.

In a sense, it doesn’t matter what hymns we sing at the Lord’s Table meeting – as long as we overflow with the enjoyment of Christ at the Lord’s table as our feast, the Lord is satisfied!

However, if we have not been eating and drinking the Lord in our daily life, the best we can hope for is a performance at the Lord’s Table, for we have not been feasting. We didn’t keep the feast the whole week, so we don’t have many riches of Christ to express and praise for at the Lord’s Table.

May we keep the feast day by day. May we have a change of diet to a diet of Christ so that, when we come to the Lord’s Table meeting, we may simply express the enjoyment of Christ and praise the Lord for what He is to us.

The Lord has given Himself to us so that we may partake of Him as our feast and enjoy Him by eating and drinking Him. He went through a process in order for us to eat Him as our bread and drink Him as the cup of blessing.

In order to become our feast, the reality of the produce of the good land, Christ had to be processed (see Deut. 8:7-10). He had to first be incarnated to become a man, so that He might have blood and a body. Through incarnation, Christ put on a human body with blood and flesh (Heb. 2:14).

He is our feast today, for He has been processed and consummated to be the life-giving Spirit coming into our spirit, and throughout the day we can contact Him to eat Him and drink Him (John 6:57, 63).

May we daily eat the Lord. May we daily feast on Him. May we participate in the Lord by eating Him and drinking Him through the exercise of our spirit.

As we do this, and then we come to the Lord’s Table meeting, we have much to share concerning this wonderful Christ. We just can’t help but praise the Lord and worship Him, for we are full of thanksgiving for all that He is. We are filled with praise to the Lord for meeting all our needs that week.

As the living Father has sent Me and I live because of the Father, so he who eats Me, he also shall live because of Me...It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words which I have spoken to you are spirit and are life. John 6:57, 63
Thank the Lord that He has given Himself to us so that we may partake of Him as our feast and enjoy Him by eating Him and drinking Him. Thank Him for being processed through incarnation, crucifixion, and resurrection.

If Christ had not been incarnated, He could not have blood and a body; but He was incarnated, and He put on a human body with blood and flesh.

If Christ had not been crucified, His blood could not be separated from His body; however, through crucifixion, His blood was separated from His body (John 6:53-55).

If Christ had not been resurrected, He could not be on the table as our food. But thank and praise the Lord, in His resurrection He is served to us on the table as a feast for our nourishment and enjoyment (1 Cor. 15:45; 2 Cor. 3:17).

Today Christ is in resurrection, after being processed, and He is on the table for us to enjoy.

The One who presents His body and His blood to us on the table is the resurrected Christ as the all-inclusive life-giving Spirit. We can enjoy Him day by day, for He was processed and consummated to be the life-giving Spirit.

We can exercise our spirit, come to the Lord, and partake of His riches throughout the week. And when we come to the Lord’s table, we can feast on the Lord with the saints, enjoying Him in mutuality with one another.

Lord Jesus, thank You for being processed in order to become our feast. Hallelujah, we believers in Christ can eat Christ and drink Christ, for He went through incarnation, crucifixion, and resurrection! Praise the Lord, Christ put on a human body through incarnation, having blood and flesh. Hallelujah, through crucifixion, Christ’s blood was separated from His body, and we can now partake of Him! Praise the Lord, in His resurrection Christ is served to us on the table as a feast for our nourishment and enjoyment. Amen, Lord, we come to You day by day to eat You and drink You. We exercise our spirit to feast on all that You are. Praise the Lord, the One who presents His body and His blood to us is the resurrected Christ as the all-inclusive life-giving Spirit! Amen, Lord, keep us feasting on You day by day. May we partake of You as our feast and enjoy You by eating You and drinking You throughout the day and throughout the week! May our hands be full of Christ as we come to the Lord’s Table Meeting to enjoy the fellowship of His blood and body!

We Eat Christ as our Bread to be Nourished and to Become His Mystical Body

And as they were eating, Jesus took bread and blessed it, and He broke it and gave it to the disciples and said, Take, eat; this is My body. Matt. 26:26
The Lord’s Table emphasizes the matter of our enjoyment of Christ and our participation in mutuality in all that He is. We partake of the Lord’s body by eating the bread and we partake of His blood by drinking the cup.

Matt. 26:26 tells us that the Lord, on the night before His death, took bread and blessed it, and He broke it, and He gave it to the disciples and said, Take, eat; this is My body. Wow!

The bread symbolises the individual body of Christ given for us on the cross. The Lord gives Himself to us for us to eat the body of Christ and drink the blood of Christ so that we may be nourished, remembering Him until He comes.

When we eat Christ and partake of Him, we are identified with Him and are one with Him. As we eat the bread on the Table, we all partake of the one bread, and we are made one. Our partaking of Christ makes us all His one Body. Praise the Lord!

We are the Body of Christ not merely because we are Christians but because we partake of Christ, the bread on the table. When we all partake of the bread, we all become the one bread, the corporate Body of Christ.

On the one hand, our eating of the body of Christ, signified by the bread on the Table, nourishes us and supplies us. On the other hand, by eating the one bread, we all become the one Body of Christ.

Praise the Lord Christ gave His human body on the cross for us so that He may become edible and so that we may partake of what He is. Now we can eat His body and drink His blood to partake of Him and become one with Him.

The bread on the Lord’s Table signifies both the body of Christ broken for us to eat and the Lord’s mystical Body constituted with us, the many members of the Body regenerated through the resurrection of Christ (1 Pet. 1:3). Hallelujah!

We believers in Christ have been enlivened with the Triune God’s life and we have been brought into an organic union with the Triune God, and now we are His mystical Body, the universal Body of Christ.

The bread on the table indicates that the Lord sacrificed His physical body in order to bring forth His mystical body.

The bread denotes life, the life of God, the eternal life; the bread signfies the Lord’s physical body given to us on the cross in order to impart life into us (John 6:35, 57, 63; Luke 22:19).

Seeing that there is one bread, we who are many are one Body; for we all partake of the one bread. 1 Cor. 10:17 Now you are the Body of Christ, and members individually. 1 Cor. 12:27
When we see the bread on the table, we should thank the Lord that He is the bread of life, for He gave His physical body for us so that He may become the bread for us to eat; He is now our life.

The bread also signifies the Lord’s mystical body, the means for Christ to carry out His heavenly ministry for the accomplishment of the divine administration (Eph. 1:22-23; 4:16; Rev. 5:6). Praise the Lord!

Today the Lord is in the heavens, and He is also in us; He is on the throne and He is also in our spirit. He carries out His heavenly ministry for the accomplishment of the divine administration by coming into us as life to do everything in us.

And we see all this as we partake of the Lord at His table, entering into the mutual fellowship and participation of all that Christ is. By participating in the Lord’s divine life, eating and enjoying Him as the bread of life, we become His mystical Body, His enlargement (1 Cor. 10:17; 12:27).

Hallelujah, we today are the enlarged Body of Christ, the mystical Body for His corporate expression on the earth. And we are one by eating this One who is on the table for us to partake of!

Lord Jesus, thank You for going through a process in order to give Yourself to us for us to enjoy, partake of, eat, and drink. Hallelujah, we have been regenerated with God’s life through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, and we are now in an organic union with the Lord. Amen, Lord, we exercise our spirit today to partake of You in spirit. We exercise to eat Your body today as we come to the Lord’s Table meeting. Thank You for dying for us on the cross. Thank You for sacrificing Your physical body so that You may bring forth Your mystical body. Thank You for giving Your body for us to eat, for You are now the bread of life for our enjoyment. Keep us eating You today. We want to participate in the Lord’s divine life by eating You and drinking You as the bread of life. Hallelujah, by eating and drinking Christ, we become His mystical Body, His enlargement. Amen, Lord, we want to eat You more today. Add Yourself to our being. Reconstitute us. Make us Your enlargement, Your corporate expression on the earth today!

In 1 Corinthians 10:16…the word fellowship refers to the believers’ communion in the joint participation in the blood and body of Christ. This makes us, the participants in the Lord’s blood and body, not only one with one another but also one with the Lord. We, the participants, make ourselves identified with the Lord in the fellowship of His blood and body. The apostle’s thought here is to illustrate how eating and drinking make the eaters and drinkers one with what they eat and drink. The believers’ fellowship implies their mutual enjoyment of Christ by eating and drinking Christ…The children of Israel brought their produce of the good land to the feast, offered it to God, and feasted with God and with one another for their enjoyment. Likewise, the Lord’s table is the Lord’s feast. When we come to the Lord’s table, we come to a feast of two courses, His blood and His body, both of which are for the believers’ fellowship.

May the Lord uplift our appreciation of the Lord’s Table meeting so that we may see it is the mutual fellowship and participation in the Lord as our feast.

Christ gave His body for us to eat Him as the bread of life day by day.

As we eat and drink Him daily, we have a rich portion of Christ to bring to His table and praise the Lord.

Oh Lord, keep us enjoying You today. May we eat You as the bread of life to become Your Body, Your corporate expression and enlargement on the earth. Amen, Lord, uplift our appreciation of the significance of the Lord’s Table!

Amen, Lord uplift us.

Our participation of the Lord’s table makes us one with what we eat and drink.

Through incarnation, He put on a human body, through crucifixion, His blood was separated from his body and in resurrection, we can enjoy Him as a feast for our enjoyment and nourishment.

As the one grain, He produced many grains to produce the one bread.

Grind us into a fine flour for Your making, may we partake of You today as our nourishment

Amen brother. What a feast!

The Lord’s table is a feast of two courses, His blood & His body.

Through incarnation, Christ put on a human body with blood & flesh.

Through crucifixion, His blood was separated from His body.

And in resurrection, He is our feast for our nourishment & enjoyment.

Therefore, each Lord’s Day we are able to feast on Christ’s incarnation, crucifixion & resurrection.

How awesome & truly mystical.

Dear brother, at the Lord’s table, we experience and enjoy the fellowship (communion) of the Lord’s blood and body.

By partaking of the one cup and one bread with all the members – the many grains brought forth by Christ the one grain to be blended into one loaf – we enjoy this feast of two courses – to remember the Lord and the processes He passed through to make us one loaf the corporate, mystical, Body of Christ as the means of God’s divine administration.

Through such a feast we declare the Lord’s death until He comes!

Lord, we thank You for giving Yourself to us that You could impart Your life into us to be Your Body! Amen! Lord, uplift our appreciation of Your Table to see that it is a real feast to God for us to bring our portion to such a time for mutual participation and enjoyment!
