Without God, man has no hope. No matter how many things he owns, how smart he is, what his achievements are – man in the world without God has no hope! This is because man was designed and created by God in a specific way – man is satisfied and filled with hope when he is filled with God!
Due to man’s fall, every human being that is being born is born in sin – under the authority of Satan and a slave of sin. But when the Lord has mercy on us and we hear the Word of God, we can repent and turn to Him – and be released from Satan’s captivity and the sin’s slavery! By believing into the Lord and receiving Him we are being returned to God, our rightful possession, and to the church / the Body of Christ, our real family!
Just as in the Old Testament when the trumpet was sounded – and the slaves returned to their family and to their possession – so today we are in the REAL age of the jubilee, released from any captivity and returned to God as our possession! Praise the Lord – Christ in us is the hope of glory (Col. 1:27)!
This is why the Lord Jesus came to the earth – as the jubilee – to announce and bring us into the jubilee! Luke 4:18-19 says,
18. The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to announce the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to proclaim release to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to send away in release those who are oppressed,
19. To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, the year of jubilee.
Here we see that when we human beings lost God, we became POOR – God is our real riches, He is our real possession, and He is the best & most precious thing humanity has. When one loses God, he loses everything – but when we gain God, when we enjoy God, we have everything!
Since Adam’s fall, all human beings are born in poverty – we all have lost God, so we are poor! Even more, because we are poor, as a result of our poverty, we were captured! Satan captured us and now we are slaves under sin! All men are born not as free men but as slaves under sin. No matter what country, what continent, and even what year you’re born in – you are born in slavery under sin. O, Lord Jesus!
Also, as a result of being under sin, we are under oppression – sin oppresses us, and we are toiling and laboring to do good: yet we can’t achieve what we desire! This is the situation of all human beings without God in the world! BUT the Lord Jesus came!
Praise the Lord, Christ was promised in the Old Testament, and He came in the New Testament to release all humanity from poverty, captivity, and oppression! The Lord Jesus came to rescue us and free us – to proclaim the jubilee! He announces the gospel to the poor – and if they receive the gospel, they are enriched and saved from poverty!
He proclaims release to the captives – if we accept the Lord and receive Him in our heart, He releases us from any captivity! Also, He sends away in release those who are oppressed – when we come to the Lord as we are, He releases us and sends us away in release from any bondage and oppression!
Hallelujah for the jubilee of grace! As believers in Christ we are no longer poor, captives, or oppressed – we are now in the jubilee, we are released and returned to God! And we also cooperate with the Lord to release the ones around us from poverty, captivity, and oppression!
Paul in Acts 26:18 was commissioned by God to “open their eyes, to turn them from darkness to light and from the authority of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been sanctified by faith in Me”. We are freed and released – and we are one with the Lord to proclaim freedom and release to all the ones in poverty, slavery, and under oppression! Hallelujah, what a jubilee!
[sharing inspired from the Life-Study of Luke and, The Jubilee, as quoted in the Holy Word for Morning Revival on the Crystallization-Study of Isaiah(2)]
Amen, Lord, no longer poor! No longer captives of Satan! No longer oppressed under sin! Praise You for Your wonderful freedom! Glorious freedom! Praise the Lord for the jubilee! Make us those who are on with Christ in proclaiming the jubilee to all those in poverty, in slavery, and under oppression! Lord, how we want that all human beings be returned to God as their possession! Man without God is without hope in the world! Continue to release many! Continue to enrich many! Lord, send away in release those oppressed!
Hallelujah for we are now in the jubilee!
Amen
