God wants us to worship Him, and as we saw previously, to worship God according to His desire is to eat Him and to drink Him. In the writings of Paul we see some examples of such proper worship to God, like Eph 3:14-17,
For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father, of whom every family in the heavens and on earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power into the inner man, that Christ may make His home in your hearts through faith…
Here we see that in Paul’s prayer/heart’s desire poured out before the Lord the Divine Trinity is involved: The Father strengthens us with power through the Spirit, that Christ the Son may make His home in our hearts.
The way the Father gets the worship He desires is by His dispensing of Himself into His Divine Trinity into our being, mingling Himself with us, and the issue is the prayer/worship according to His heart.
We don’t worship God according to our own thought/way/personality – we worship Him in the divine dispensing of the Triune God!
- In Eph. 2:18 we also see that we have access to the Father through the Son and in the Spirit;
- In Eph. 4:4-6 we see how the processed God as the Spirit, the Lord, and the Father is mingled with the Body of Christ;
- In 2 Cor 13:14 we see that what we have with us today all the time is the grace of the Son, the love of the Father, and the fellowship of the Spirit(check out the note on this verse).
- In 1 Peter 1:2 we see that we were chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in the sanctification of the Spirit, unto the obedience and the sprinkling of the blood of Son.
And, to quote the footnote on 2 Cor. 13:14
Thus, it is evident that the divine revelation of the trinity of the Godhead in the holy Word, from Genesis through Revelation, is not for theological study but for the apprehending of how God in His mysterious and marvelous trinity dispenses Himself into His chosen people, that we as His chosen and redeemed people may, as indicated in the apostle’s blessing to the Corinthian believers, participate in, experience, enjoy, and possess the processed Triune God now and for eternity. Amen
These are just some of the many of these well-known verses/portions that tell us that our relationship with God is in the dispensing of the Divine Trinity into us.
Oh, how much we need to see that God is Triune so that He may dispense Himself into us! As we enjoy Him in His dispensing, we render Him the worship that He desires!
