when we turn to our spirit we are filled with Christ and can be used by Him! (2011 WST)

January 12, 2012 by Christian Student 3 Comments

when we turn to our spirit we are filled with Christ and can be used by Him! (2011 WST)Once again the Winter School of Truth has given me a very eye-opening experience. I really enjoyed how the Lord is just like a power station, He’s been through all the processes (just like electricity has) and all we need to do is flip the switch! In this case, all we have to do is turn to our spirit to enjoy Him! When we turn to our spirit, we forget about ourselves and are filled with Christ! So many people try to fill themselves with worldly things just to find something that will satisfy them, whether it be games, relationships or even drugs – but all these NEVER satisfy them and they just end up looking for something else…

But praise the Lord that the Spirit fills us! When we first believed into Christ and heard the gospel, we were regenerated; to be regenerated is to be born of the Spirit. This means that we were born anew – now it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me! We are one with Him! To be one spirit with the Lord means that we are blended with Him organically and mingled with Him in life. We believers have been made the same as He is in life and nature!

I particularly enjoyed the illustration of the glove. A glove is made according to the likeness of a hand because that’s what it is made to contain. It’s not made to contain your feet, your nose or any other part of your body – a glove is for your hands. Applied to our case, this shows us that we are made according to the image and likeness of God! Thus, we were made to contain nothing else but of Christ. Genesis 1:26 says,

And God said, Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of heaven and over the cattle and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.

Finally I enjoyed how even if our spirit is small and weak, and our soul is tall and strong, we need to deny our soul so that our mingled spirit may become strong. We should always have a strong inner man, a strong spirit! We need to be willing to be used by God. Our infilling of the Holy Spirit is not only for our nourishment, it is also for us to dispense. This means that we have to preach the gospel to our friends, to overthrow our schools with the word of God – the Lord wants to use us as His stepping stones. If not, then He would just pass us by and turn to another generation to fulfill His Goal. Oh Lord Jesus! Make us all willing!

[sharing from the 2011 Winter School of Truth by sister L. C. from her topmost enjoyment in this time. Lord, don’t pass us by! We want to be the stepping stones for Your return! … read more testimonies from the young people via, 2011 WST, or send us your testimony by emailing it to us at [email protected].]
